- Faction: Adeptus Custodes, Emperor’s Bodyguard
- What would such a series look like? A mix of diplomacy on Terra and the fight against Chaos
- Likelihood of the role: very high, the Custodes are Cavill’s favorite faction
Of all possible roles, Constantin Valdor is probably the one that is most tailored to Cavill according to the community. Custodes are similarly artificially created superhumans as Space Marines, just one level stronger, the Emperor’s bodyguard.
Valdor is the leader of the Custodes and therefore the one closest to the Emperor. After all, he stands guard at the Golden Throne and commands the bodyguard. However, Valdor has been missing for some time now. For the series, there are therefore two options:
- It takes place earlier, for example around the time of the Horus Heresy, when Valdor was still active and defended Terra, which would mean a series with more focus on diplomatic intrigues.
- Or we see the return of Valdor and possibly his fight against the Warp, should he have disappeared there and not simply left his post.
Instead of directly playing the commander Constantin Valdor, another Custodes who currently has no name could be an option. After all, this is Cavill’s favorite faction, whose insignia he even immortalized on his grill. Generally, having Custodes as a focus would allow for various points in the history of Warhammer 40,000 to be addressed.
