AdventureQuest Worlds Infinity starts today on Steam into Alpha. Fans of the game will surely be pleased, as they have been waiting for several years for this.
What game is it? AdventureQuest Worlds Infinity is a game from the developer studio Artix Entertainment. The MMORPG, which is set to be released on Steam as well as mobile platforms, entered Alpha on May 26, 2026. According to the developers, the full version of the game is planned for October 2026.
The Alpha starts initially only for players who participated in the game’s Kickstarter campaign in advance and supported the project financially. And a significant amount came together.

An interesting story and a huge sum
How much has the game raised? Overall, the game was able to collect a whopping 2,149,404 US dollars from 28,917 supporters in its Kickstarter campaign. On average, each supporter donated just over 74 US dollars. Anyone who donated at least 25 US dollars here is now also eligible to participate in the Alpha.
What kind of game is this? That the game has a loyal player base is not surprising given the history of the game on one side, but somewhat surprising on the other. The game is a remake of AdventureQuest Worlds. The game was originally released in 2008 and is a browser game based on the Flash engine. Since then, the developers have reportedly introduced new content to the game every single week.
Many may still remember the Flash engine from many small minigames that were played in the browser ages ago.
Since then, there were plans to rebuild the game on the Unity engine in 2016 and make it available for Android and iOS (via aq.com) – but that initially came to nothing. The plans for a remake of the game were picked up again in 2023, and now, in 2026, these plans are becoming a reality.
Interestingly, the Kickstarter campaign did not aim to raise money for the creation of the game itself, as the game engine was reportedly completed by the developers prior to the campaign. Rather, the funds are intended to be used to transfer all the content like quests, monsters, and items from the old game into the new form.
Do you know the predecessor of the MMORPG? Have you ever played the game in the browser? Feel free to share your experiences in the comments. A special challenge in an MMORPG was also had by MeinMMO author Cedric Holmeier last weekend: He had to reach level 21 in an MMORPG over the weekend instead of enjoying the weather at 31 degrees.
