When will the remake be released? As announced by the producers, The One Piece will start in February 2027 on Netflix. A total of 7 episodes will be released at once as the first season, taking up around 300 minutes in total. This means that each episode will average about 43 minutes long.

The first season will adapt the first 50 chapters of the original manga. This means that the story will run up to the point where Luffy meets his new crew member Sanji at the Baratie restaurant. If it strictly stops at chapter 50, the swordsman Dracule Mihawk will just be teased.

Remake of One Piece has significantly faster pacing
How much faster will it become? In the first 7 episodes, 50 chapters of the manga will be included. In the original manga, this point was reached at Episode 24. Since the episodes last on average about 24 minutes, that makes a total runtime of 576 minutes.
In comparison to the 300 minutes, this means that the remake is almost twice as fast as the original. If filler arcs are omitted, this time could even shorten further.
However, it is unclear how long the subsequent episodes will take due to the new art style. It may be that production still takes a long time and the anime will run for many decades. Accordingly, it is unclear when Season 2 will continue.
