7 vs. Wild is considered the gold standard for survival series by many. However, after the show has distanced itself from the audience in recent seasons, a direct competitor is now emerging.
What kind of series is this? The new show is called 6 Districts and is presumably created by Joe Vogel, who earned his reputation as a know-it-all in seasons 3 and 4 of 7 vs. Wild.
According to a post on Instagram, the new show will feature 6 participants who must survive in 6 “districts” only with what nature provides. The motto is: “Everyone fights for themselves. Everyone makes their own decisions.”
According to the post, there is no production company behind it; it is being filmed independently, like in season 1 of 7 vs. Wild. A trailer is set to launch on May 30, 2026.

What can be expected? The similarity to 7 vs. Wild is evident, but if you look at the accounts that the new show follows on Instagram, you can get a hint of what is likely to come.
It follows only outdoor professionals like marine biologist Robert Marc Lehmann, survival author Joe Vogel, 7 vs. Wild winner David Leichtle, extreme athlete Joey Kelly, and other professionals from the sports and outdoor sector.
6 Districts could therefore be the long-awaited expert season that fans have been hoping for, in which the professionals must survive alone in the forest without help or equipment for a certain period. The first images already show it is going to a forest, but whether it will really be like that is still completely unclear.
Where can it be watched? So far, no information about the show is known. A trailer is scheduled to be released on May 30, 2026, which will reveal more. The first post, however, announces the series for YouTube, so it is returning to its roots here as well.
