The German extreme athlete Arda Saatçi has completed his 600-KM run and broke a record during the emotional embrace of his mother on Twitch.
Who is it about and what was the project? The German extreme athlete and content creator Arda Saatçi took on a special challenge last week . He ran a total of 600 kilometers from Death Valley in California to Santa Monica Pier in Los Angeles. He ultimately missed his actual goal of completing this distance in 96 hours. In the end, he took about 123 hours.
Arda is known for extreme sports achievements, which, combined with his human approachability, earned him the nickname “Cyborg” – because he is colloquially said to be a machine but still does not forget his human side.
Emotional reception from Mama Saatçi
Here’s how the final moments of the challenge looked: The goal of Arda’s big challenge was at the famous Santa Monica Pier in Los Angeles, where the 28-year-old athlete was cheered on during the final meters by countless spectators.
As he crossed the finish line, he briefly cheered loudly before being warmly received by his mother. An emotional moment followed in which Arda embraced his mother with tearful eyes for half a minute (via TikTok).
Shortly thereafter, he expressed some grateful words to all spectators and supporters and conveyed once again that he looked forward to going for ice cream with his mother now.
Arda simultaneously sets the German Twitch record
What record is this? While running, Arda set the record for the most concurrent viewers on German Twitch. According to SullyGnome, a total of 567,839 viewers watched him during the final moments of the challenge.
The previous record holder was Twitch streamer MontanaBlack, who broke his own record from 2024 last December during his Christmas event, reaching a peak of 319,453.
Several hours before the finale of Arda’s challenge, the recumbent bike tour by Trymacs also came to an end, where a group of streamers rode 600 km over 8 days lying down on e-bikes from France to Spain. The Trymacs team had a peak viewer count of nearly 81,000 during the tour and offered their viewers plenty of chaos from the start: Twitch streamers ride lying down along the Mediterranean for the next days, already having almost 2 breakdowns at the start.
