Bellatores
Developer: NYOU | Platform: PC | Release Period for the West: expected 2026 | Payment Model: Unclear | Status: Closed Beta | Chance of success in the West: 20%—we fear it will be the next generic flop from Asia
A realistic medieval scenario with cutting-edge graphics from Unreal Engine 5 and a double-digit million budget … when Bellatores was first introduced under its real name in 2022 (previously only known as Project N1), the MMORPG had some strong arguments up its sleeve. All the more so because a playable version should be available in the same year.
However, nothing came of the timely release. Instead, there were long periods of silence, interrupted by smaller updates. This changed only in the summer of 2025, with a new trailer and a closed beta phase on Steam.
The good news: the beta actually took place. The bad news: the trailer and testing phase rather discouraged many genre fans. Particularly the sluggish, slow combat system without defined classes received a lot of criticism. In addition, the poor performance certainly needs some optimization.
But these aspects must work in an open-world MMORPG that aims for massive PvP battles, multiplayer dungeons, and raids. In job postings on gamejob.co.kr, there were times when a release in 2026 was mentioned. Since we could no longer find this information there, it is unclear whether it remains the developers’ plan after testing.
Due to the long development and the advanced state of the game, we still consider a release in 2026 likely. More info on Bellatores can be found here: New MMORPG comes only for PC – Focuses on great graphics, but so do the new PS5 MMORPGs
