What is Land of the Lustrous about? Crystal organisms known as “Gems” live on a world devastated by several meteors. Each Gem is assigned a role to help the community withstand the Lunarians – aliens who want to shatter Gems to use them as decorations. Phos dreams of being able to support the other Gems in battle, but is doomed to guard an encyclopedia due to their fragile body.
Cinnabar is also similarly dissatisfied with the task of patrolling every night as their body continuously produces corrosive poisons. Phos decides to change the situation for both of them – leading to a lot of chaos.
