What is Vinland Saga about? The young Thorfinn has grown up with stories of seafarers who tell of a fantastic land with lush green meadows and happiness: Vinland. Completely different from the cold home in which he currently lives. As a mercenary, he becomes embroiled in the war between England and Denmark and is used by both sides to bring the war to an end.
In doing so, Thorfinn distances himself more and more from the harmless, innocent boy he once was – and sinks into a world full of cruelty. Revenge drives him and the longing for a peaceful, idyllic home seems to be fading more and more…
