Shortly before the pre-order launch, Rockstar brings countless new infos about GTA 6. With a single sentence, the developer now shatters the dreams of many multiplayer fans.
On June 25, you can finally pre-order GTA 6 and shortly before that, there will be a small flood of new information about the open-world game. One of them will probably disappoint many fans.
On the official PlayStation page for GTA 6, there is a FAQ, and Sony answers the question of whether the game can be played in multiplayer: Grand Theft Auto VI is intended as a single-player experience.
Thus, at least at release, there will probably be no online mode.
For a large part of the community, this news could be a major disappointment, after all, the online mode in GTA 5 was one of the reasons why the game still has many players and regularly generates high sums.
There has also been a lot of hype in recent years thanks to the RP scene. These are roleplay servers where players take on different roles within the world. They can be police officers or criminals. On platforms like Twitch, these servers have led to all sorts of funny and obscure situations.
Will there be no multiplayer mode in GTA 6 at all? So far, there is no information on that. Whether Rockstar will provide one later is currently unclear. Since GTA Online is a quite successful model for Rockstar, nothing can be ruled out at the moment. At least at release, players will have to be satisfied with the single-player experience.
What do you think? Do you need an online mode or would you rather explore the new city alone and dive into the story of the single-player? Feel free to share your opinion in the comments. Until the release, you can pass the time with this list: 33 details from the cover art of GTA 6 that you missed
