In Pokémon GO a new double event has been announced. And it brings several new monsters, one of which will be really strong.
What events are these? The events consist of the “Taxi Event,” which runs from Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at 10:00 AM until Monday, June 29, 2026, at 8:00 PM, as well as the takeover of the event by Team GO Rocket. This part takes place from Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 12:00 AM until Monday, June 29, 2026, at 8:00 PM.
In addition to some content and new monsters, Giovanni also has a new legendary Pokémon with him. And it will be really strong.
Already at the top
Which monster does Giovanni have? At the event, you can obtain Reshiram in its Shadow form for the first time. While the regular form of the monster is already among the best attackers in Pokémon GO, the Shadow form will be even stronger. It is expected that this Reshiram will place in the Top 3 of the best Fire attackers, surpassed only by Mega-Blaziken and Mega-Charizard Y.
If you are lucky, you can even get the new Reshiram as a Shiny.
What other new monsters are there? Additionally, in the double event, you can obtain the following monsters for the first time. The Shadow monsters can only be found in the takeover part of the event with Team GO Rocket Grunts.
- Shadow-Jurob*
- Shadow-Hoothoot*
- Shadow-eF-eM*
- Shadow-Meikro*
- Krawalloro
Krawalloro will appear in a total of 4 different forms in the game. While the yellow-feathered and the white-feathered variants can be found worldwide, the green-feathered variant will only appear in the eastern hemisphere and the blue-feathered variant will only appear in the western hemisphere.
What other content is there? In addition to all the monster debuts, there are further contents in the double event. Within the first part of the event, these are:
- Hoothoot*, Meikro* and with some luck Krawalloro (white-feathered)* will appear in the wild
- Field research where you can obtain Spearow*, Hoothoot*, Meikro* Krawalloro* and Voltrel
- Swablu*, Staraptor* and Skallyk* in 1-star raids
- Hisui-Washakwil*, Kranoviz* and Adebom* in 3-star raids
In the takeover, the following contents are also added:
- Team GO Rocket appears more frequently in balloons and PokéStops
- Shadow monsters can forget the charge attack Frustration by using a Charged TM
- Monsters from Shadow raids have a greater variance in IV values
- Field research with Instant and Charged TMs as well as mysterious components
What is in the GO Pass? Of course, there will be a GO Pass for this double event, which will be available in both a free and a paid version as usual.
In both variants, you can receive the following rewards:
- a Super Rocket Radar that you need to find Giovanni and obtain the Reshiram
- Encounters with Pidgeotto*, Hoothoot*, Skallyk*, Meikro* and other monsters
- mystery components and Shadow Shards
- double the amount of catch candy as a bonus until the end of the event (from level 10)
- more Stardust for victories against members of Team GO Rocket until the end of the event (from level 20)
In the Deluxe version, there are additional contents:
- even more encounters with Flying Pokémon
- another Super Rocket Radar
- further unknown rewards
