What is a Spotlight Hour? The Spotlight Hour is a short event. It lasts only 60 minutes. During this time, there is at least one featured Pokémon, as well as a bonus.
In the next Spotlight Hour on August 13, 2026, Wurmple will be waiting for you. This Pokémon is from Generation 3 and is a Bug type. It has 2 different evolutionary lines. It can evolve into Silcoon and then into Beautifly or into Cascoon and then into Dustox.
Spotlight Hour on August 13, 2026 – Start and Bonuses
When does the Spotlight Hour start? The Spotlight Hour starts at 6:00 PM and lasts for 60 minutes. This means the short event ends at 7:00 PM.
What bonus is active? If you trigger evolutions during the event, you will receive double the amount of experience points.
Can you catch Shiny Wurmple? Yes, you can also encounter the Shiny variant of Wurmple during the Spotlight Hour. However, since the chance is not increased, you will need a good amount of luck.
Is the Spotlight Hour worth it? If you are hoping for new, strong attackers during the Spotlight Hour, you will definitely be disappointed. Neither Wurmple nor any of its evolutions are strong Pokémon and therefore none of them are on the list of best attackers in Pokémon GO.
This applies to both raids and the battle league.
You can take advantage of the event bonus if you are already planning to evolve Pokémon or are on the hunt for experience points. If you use Lucky Eggs here, you can earn four times the amount of experience points for each evolution.
