Pokémon GO celebrates 2 events with new Pikachu and strong attacks

In Pokémon GO two events are being celebrated. And they bring along some content that you will enjoy.

From August 28 to August 30, 2026, two events will take place in San Francisco: the Pokémon World Championships and the PokémonXP. However, there is not only a lot to experience on-site, but also in Pokémon GO where both events will be celebrated – with the corresponding in-game events.

The event for PokémonXP will take place from Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at 10:00 AM to Friday, August 28, 2026, at 10:00 AM in Pokémon GO. Directly after that, the event for the World Championships will follow from Friday, August 28, 2026, at 10:00 AM to Sunday, August 30, 2026, at 8:00 PM.

Monsters, Attacks, and Livestreams

Which monsters are there at the event? During the event, you will be able to obtain Pikachu with Cosmog space suit* for the first time as well as a special Pikachu for the World Championships 2026* in the game. For the PokémonXP event, you will find the Pikachu in the space suit in 1-star raids, and during the second part of the double event, you will find both Pikachu in 1-star raids.

Additionally, you will find Bähmon* in the 1-star raids in the first part of the event and Gramokles* in the second part.

Moreover, you will find different monsters in the wild in both parts of the event.

Especially for trainers who want to strengthen their Great League teams, there are some interesting specimens here that, especially due to their exclusive attacks, rank among the best monsters in the battle league.

Rewards in Livestreams: From Friday, August 28 to Monday, August 31, 2026, there will also be livestreams where you can receive 4 different time-limited researches by watching for a specific time.

Additional contents of the event: In the battle league, you can battle 15 sets per day during the entire event instead of the regular 5. The monsters you receive as rewards in the battle league may also exhibit a greater variance in IV values.

Additionally, there are field researches in the event where you can obtain event Pokémon, corresponding stickers, and a special GO Pass. There, at level 10, you can unlock twice the amount of catch stardust, and at level 20, 3,000 additional experience points for raids. In the Deluxe variant, you can also receive up to 2 additional raid passes per day at level 20.

After the event, you can also purchase a backpack for your avatar in the in-game shop, designed in the style of the double event.
