After the PokémonXP event, the accompanying event for the World Championship in Pokémon GO is coming. What content the event brings is shown to you by MeinMMO.
When does the event take place? The event for the Pokémon World Championship takes place immediately after the PokémonXP event. It starts on Friday, August 28, 2026, at 10:00 AM and runs until Sunday, August 30, 2026, at 8:00 PM.
While some content overlaps with that of the PokémonXP event, there is also content that you can only find in this part of the double event. MeinMMO has put together all the content for you. Monsters that you might also find as Shiny with some luck are marked with an *.
What’s included in the Pokémon GO World Championship event 2026.
Which Pokémon are available? In this part of the event, Pikachu makes its debut in the style of the World Championship 2026*. You can also receive the monster directly as a Shiny if you’re lucky. Additionally, the following monsters are part of the event:
In the wild:
- Alolan Sandshrew*
- Monferno*
- Slurpuff*
- Croconaw*
- Espurr*
- Shroomish*
- Froakie*
- Litten*
- Togetic* (rare)
- Metang* (rare)
In 1-Star Raids:
- Pikachu with Cosmog Space Suit*
- Pikachu from the 2026 Championships*
- Drampa*
What bonuses are there in the event? The following bonuses are part of the event:
- Field research with event Pokémon
- Number of daily battle sets increased to 15
- Monster rewards from the GO Battle League may have greater variance in IV values
- Event stickers through PokéStops and gifts
- a separate arena in the GO Battle League as well as background music
- up to 4 limited time researches while watching the event livestreams
- backpack with WM/PokémonXP design in the in-game shop (only after the event)
What exclusive moves are available? Some monsters have their exclusive moves when you catch or evolve them during the event. The following Pokémon are involved:

What’s included in the GO Pass? A GO Pass will also be part of the event. You have until the end of the event to level up and claim the rewards. The following contents of the pass are already known:
- Encounters with event Pokémon
- Bonus for double-catching Stardust (Level 10)
- 3,000 additional XP for raids (Level 20)
In the Deluxe version, there are also:
- Backpack WM/PokémonXP 2026
- Encounter with Zapdos*^
- further encounters with event Pokémon
- up to 2 additional raid passes per day (Level 20)
