Pokémon GO has announced a new global event with the Mega Finale. It is set to represent the conclusion of this year’s GO Fest.
This year, Pokémon GO celebrated a very special edition of the annual global GO Fest. In the context of the game’s 10th anniversary, not only were the Mega Evolutions of Mewtwo released, but all content was also made available to all players for free.
A new event has now been announced. It is called Mega Finale and is set to represent the final conclusion of the GO Fest.
Pokémon GO Fest Mega Finale: What is known
What kind of event is this? Besides the name, not much content is known yet. It is only clear that the event is to be held in the spirit of the GO Fest and is set to be the grand finale. Additionally, it is supposed to be global and thus available to all trainers, regardless of their location.
What kind of content there will be, such as Pokémon in the wild or in raids, or what strong bonuses and other gimmicks are included, is still not known.
When does the event take place? The date of the Mega Finale is already known. It will take place on Saturday, September 5, 2026, and Sunday, September 6, 2026. However, whether it will be all day or, like the GO Fest, take place during a specific timeframe on the respective days is still unclear.
Is it a recurring event? Whether the Mega Finale will also take place in the future and thus become another annual major event is also not known yet. Since it is supposed to mark the end of this year’s GO Fest, it is possible that this is a one-time event. However, you will probably find out next year whether that is the case.
