A player must realize that EA has simply deleted a game from their account. It is not such a big loss, as the shooter is no longer playable. Nevertheless, some players are upset that the game has been deleted. After all, the user had paid money for it back then.
What did the user have to realize? A player reports on Reddit that he logged into his EA account again after a long time. And here he was surprised by a message: EA had deleted his Legion Edition of Anthem from his account.
What particularly annoys him: the game was not just deactivated but completely removed from his account. On Steam, even deactivated games remain permanently in your account.
Game was simply deleted and isn’t even kept as a reminder in the library
How are the reactions? Some explain that this behavior is not acceptable, as the player paid for the product. And now the game, for which he paid money back then, is simply gone, and without any compensation.
Others don’t see it as such a big deal and compare purchasing the game to buying a season pass for an amusement park: After all, you buy the pass, visit the park every now and then, and if it closes, you wouldn’t get a refund for your pass either. Because in the end, you only bought a license for the game, not the game itself.
Some explain, however, that Anthem has been dead for a long time anyway and that he himself could not do much with the game: Because Anthem was officially shut down in January 2026
What does the player say about it? The player himself is less concerned about not getting a refund but rather about the fact that the game has simply disappeared from his library and he has no chance of archiving it. He himself explained in another post, “I still want to see my purchased games in my library, whether they have been discontinued or sales have been stopped.”
It is also not the first time that games have been deleted from accounts: For instance, Ubisoft deleted the game “The Crew” from players’ libraries, even though they had paid for it. This sparked angry reactions within the community.
At least for European players, it has long been a thorn in their side that big companies simply shut down less successful games. For this reason, players have launched an initiative called “Stop Killing Games”. The gaming industry, by the way, is far from thrilled about this, as it explains itself: “Would have a deterrent effect” – A million gamers unite to save their favorite games, now the gaming association of Europe responds
