With Curse of the Allflame, Path of Exile receives a new extensive season. This not only takes you underwater, but also brings numerous innovations. You can find all the important information with us.
When is the release of Curse of the Allflame? Curse of the Allflame will be released on July 24, 2026, at 10:00 PM CEST. As usual, this will reset all leagues except for the Standard league and your previous league characters will be transferred to this one.
New underwater setting
With Corsair Captain Valerie and the Singing Seaurchin, you will dive to the seabed to retrieve forgotten treasures from the oceans of Wraeclast. New challenges await you there with new gameplay mechanics that may also have something to do with the title of the update.
Treasure maps and sea voyages
Collect treasure maps and connect them to embark on a sea voyage. Each map brings its own modifications that can also affect adjacent treasure maps. Retrieve and collect what you can carry and bring everything to the surface.
Socket colors will be abolished
From Patch 3.29 onwards, you can place any gem in absolutely any socket you want. This will give you significantly more freedom for your builds.
Ghostly items through the Allflame
Below deck of the Singing Seaurchin, you will find the Ship’s Heart. With it, you can break items down into ghostly fragments and choose one of them. Additionally, you can find Ducats, which allow you to exert further influence on items.
Return of the Mercenaries
The mercenaries from Trarthus are returning and waiting for a duel against you to temporarily accompany you if you defeat them. Additionally, you can “save” a mercenary for the next map, but he will then have completely new items with him.
Revision of Abyss and Legion
Abysses now function similarly to PoE2 and no longer move slowly across the map, but are immediately open, surrounded by monsters. If you kill these, more monsters will crawl out of the rift. If you defeat them as well, the chasm closes and drops loot.
In Legion, incubators will be completely eliminated and replaced by a new crafting system: With the currency “Enveloping Crystals,” you prepare unique armors to place them in a special crystal in the realm of the everlasting war. This creates “traceless” items that take on extremely powerful modifiers from other unique items.

Path of Exile: Curse of the Allflame – Setting and new mechanics
Where are we going in Curse of the Allflame? You will meet Corsair Captain Valerie and her ship, the Singing Seaurchin. The new season and its associated mechanics revolve around them and the oceans of Wraeclast.
What innovations does the setting bring? The following new mechanics and content are included in the season:
- Diving in the protection of Allflame sparks
- Lanterns protect you in the shallows of the waters, and as long as they burn, you have time to master the challenges there and secure as much loot as possible
- Treasure maps & sea voyages
- Find them scattered all over Wraeclast and plan great expeditions with them by connecting them to sea voyages
- You can visit each treasure map multiple times and thus farm its rewards
- Each visited area has a modifier that affects your further journey
- Marginal areas bring additional random effects that influence adjacent treasure maps and complement your rewards
- Some treasure maps lead to special challenges that take you into the Black Current and also provide special loot when you survive
- Crafting with the Allflame and the heart of the ship
- Below deck of the Singing Seaurchin, you will find the heart of the ship
- You can feed this with items that split it into ghostly items for you
- You can choose and keep one with each run
- On your journeys to the seabed, you will also find Ducats that allow you to further influence the process and the items
