Palworld is celebrating its full release with version 1.0. However, in addition to the main game, numerous other spin-offs are planned.
What is planned for the future? In an interview with Game8, John Bucky Buckley spoke about the future of Palworld and what other projects are planned. Since Palworld is not a live-service game, the intention is not to be permanently tied to the game, but to further expand the franchise.
This includes the following projects:
- Palfarm, with a release date yet to be determined
- The visual novel “More Than Just Pals,” which was originally intended as an April Fool’s joke
- Palworld Mobile, which is currently in development
- Other small secret projects, although not all of them will be realized
The games are being developed because the demand in Palworld is not being met or because players are requesting them. For example, the main game lacks cozy or dating aspects. The team is considering several possibilities.
Palworld aims to become an IP ecosystem
Where do the big ambitions come from? In the past 2.5 years, Palworld has developed into a title with a large player base. Even before the full release, the developers built a player base of 40 million (read more on X).
And exactly this player base is what the development team wants to listen to. The wishes of the players are what drives new games. Everything really depends on the direction the fans want to see Palworld grow. The IP should keep expanding.
Fans can’t help but make a funny comment on Reddit. One user suggests developing a D&D-inspired role-playing game in collaboration with Larian.
Furthermore, the team does not want to remain solely focused on Palworld. It is an extensive game and already pushes the technical possibilities to the limit.
