The world in Palworld is large and you can build exactly three bases. The locations for your bases should of course be the best possible. Here are our 6 recommendations for every need, marked on a map.
How did we choose our base suggestions?
In our selection, we made sure that you have good base suggestions, especially in the Early and Mid-Game. With these suggestions, you should be able to protect your first bases well and later quickly access important resource deposits. Finally, we have one suggestion ready for your Late-Game.
Can I tear down my base later and set it up again at another location?
You can set up to three Palboxes at the same time and therefore have up to three bases simultaneously. However, keep in mind that you only unlock the additional bases with higher storage levels.
Attention: However, if you destroy a Palbox to establish your storage in a new location, you will lose items that cannot be built outside of storages.
Best Base Locations – Our 6 Suggestions
For Beginners
Most Palworld players will start at the starting area. There you will be washed ashore in the opening cutscene, and you will meet the first Pals of the open world. There are also directly two very good locations for your first camp.
The first good spot is the one shown in the cutscene – at the beach. The location can be found at the starting area South at coordinates 264 and -548. You will find first Pals, stone, wood, and Paldium fragments here.
Alternatively, you can make your way over or through the hill to the north and settle at 230 and -515. There is also a fast travel point nearby. Here, you can find stone and wood.
Both spots are well defensible when you are attacked. The second spot does not have Paldium, but it is a bit safer since it is not as easily accessible as the first one.
Mining Ores
Ores become indispensable at a certain point. Therefore, it might be important for you to establish a storage at a spot with a high ore deposit. Here we recommend the autumnal hillside, the area west of the small village. You can find it at 7 and -529.
The ore deposits respawn every in-game day.

Since an update in April 2024, you can unlock and build an automatic ore mine at level 24, so from that point on, you don’t need to use a base for it anymore. You can then use it for other materials.
Farming Pal-Oil
If you have progressed further in Palworld, you will sooner or later need large quantities of Pal-Oil. It is necessary for weapons like the musket at level 21 or the assault rifle at level 45. It is also required for polymer plates, which you also use for weapons and circuits.
A base for farming this valuable resource makes absolute sense. We can recommend the Dusk Dunes at coordinates -94 and -119. In the desert, where you can also find the boss variant of Anubis, is small but full of Dumud and Digitoise buildings – the best sources for Pal-Oil.

Farming Coal
Like the Pal-Oil mentioned above, coal is also very important for your Mid and Late-Game. A good spot for a base to farm coal and ore is at coordinates 180 and -39 at the Sealed Realm of the Guardian southwest of Frostbound Mountain.
With the Sakurajima update, a new coal mine has been introduced that you can unlock and build. So once you unlock it, you can use your base for newer materials.
Coal is not the charcoal that you make with a fire Pal in your base. This is about the traditional coal that you need for more powerful weapons and more complex buildings. Here you can find more information about it:
Farming Ancient Parts
To craft the most important buildings, you need ancient parts. The more you have, the better. Accordingly, a well-placed storage to farm these items can boost your progress.
For this, we recommend the spot south of the fortress ruins with level 11 Alpha-Pal Chillet. Since it is the weakest Alpha-Pal, you can fight it relatively early, and the higher your level, the easier and faster it will be. Defeated Alpha-Pals respawn after about an hour in real time. A camp at Chillet will give you important components quickly.

For crude oil farming
With the Sakurajima update, a new resource became important in the endgame. You need this for various manufacturing processes, making it an important material starting from level 50.
To effectively mine crude oil, we recommend a base at the Sakurajima oil fields at coordinates -646 and 270, where you will encounter enemies of level 50+.
If you are already a bit higher in level, you might consider the area at -1340 and -1285 in the west of Scorched Hill. There you can also mine hexolite quartz in addition to crude oil, which you need for almost all manufacturing processes from the Feybreak update, making this spot the best location for your base so far. The enemies in this area are level 52+.
