Together with some friends, MeinMMO editor Jasmin rented a server in Palworld. There, they minimized the building restrictions, which almost led to the loss of a teammate.
In survival games, it often happens that players divide up tasks on a server:
- Some are responsible for building
- Others explore or gather resources
- Some individuals take care of base and chest management
Especially when building a base, you rely on your colleagues to design the building as efficiently as possible, but also to be aesthetically appealing. I especially appreciate this about my friends, as they dedicated a separate floor in the building to each player so that everyone could set it up themselves. This led to cozy living rooms, comfortable bedrooms, and even escape and torture rooms.
But beyond that, they dared to undertake an experiment that almost crashed my friend’s PS5. For this project, they invested several hours of building time and quite a bit of materials, but in the end, it paid off.
PS5 imposes height limit for towers
Their goal was clear: to build the tallest tower possible to have the best view of everything. In the distance, you can spot a few things, for example, the large tree that seems to play a role in the grand finale of Palworld.
For this purpose, our two main builders grabbed as much material as possible and climbed onto our building. There, they tested going vertical as long as possible with four walls.
As they eventually could no longer climb due to exhaustion, they built intermediate platforms inside and left windows facing out. This way, we others, who also wanted to take a look from the top of the tower at some point, could catch up.

However, it should be noted: To build the tower as high as possible, the server owner minimized the building restrictions to the smallest possible extent. On normal servers, it is not possible to use so many building materials. Therefore, it was truly an exceptional experiment that you can conduct on your own servers.
But at some point, it wasn’t the material or the server that was the limit, but my friend’s PS5. He was one of those two builders and began to complain that the frame rate was significantly dropping.
Eventually, his performance was so bad that they had to stop building upwards. At the top, they then placed a small platform with a roof and a chair in the corner so that one could enjoy the view in peace.
Have you ever conducted such wild experiments when building? How is it for you in other games, such as Minecraft? Feel free to let us know in the comments.
