Shadowbeak is one of the strongest companions for your team in Palworld. Where to find him and how to breed him is explained in this guide.
Where can I find Shadowbeak? The location of Shadowbeak is in the 3rd nature reserve in the northeast of the map. You can best reach the island via the fast travel point Sandy Dunes with a flying or swimming pal. Warning: The high-level area (level 40–50) is extremely well monitored.
Equip yourself with heat-resistant armor for the day and cold-resistant armor for the night (both at least level 2). Guards patrol the area, scanning the surroundings. Avoid a fight and quickly fly with your pal over the island to spot a Shadowbeak.
How to catch Shadowbeak: Shadowbeak, level 53, is a tough nut to crack. Lower his health points as much as possible and dodge his attacks. Use at least one “Tera Sphere” for the catch. Also, pay attention to the endurance of your flying pal during the fight.
If you can’t find a Shadowbeak, leave the island and fly a bit away to reset the spawns. Along the way, you will also find other rare pals – including Astegon, which you can use for breeding a Shadowbeak.
To use your Shadowbeak as a flying pal, you need its saddle, which you unlock at technology level 47.
To craft the saddle, you need:
- 50x Leather
- 40x High-Quality Metal Bars
- 15x Corrosion Solution
- 45x Paldium Fragments
Breeding Shadowbeak – How it Works
How do I breed Shadowbeak? In Palworld, you not only have the option to capture pals with spheres, but you can also breed many of them. To breed a Shadowbeak, you need one male and one female specimen of the following pals:
- Astegon: You can find the alpha pal (level 55) in the 2nd nature reserve, north of the volcanic area.
- Kitsun: This pal (level 37) roams at night on the ice ridge, north of the Green Creek Observation Tower.
If the genders of the pals do not match, you can easily adjust this at the pal-OP table with a gender changer (available from bounty hunters).
Place Astegon and Kitsun together in your breeding farm. Put a cake in the farm’s chest, which is required as motivation for laying eggs. Once you receive a “Dark Giant Egg”, you just need to place it in the incubator – hopefully your Shadowbeak will hatch from it. For more details on breeding in Palworld, check our guide.
Through the technology tree, you can also unlock other types of cakes. These increase the potential of the hatched pals, influence passive skills, or ensure that two eggs are laid.
