The mighty Thor is known in the Marvel Universe primarily for his hammer Mjölnir. However, the God of Thunder is not the only one who can lift and wield the weapon. MeinMMO presents 10 characters who have managed to do so.
How was this list created? In the following list, we introduce characters who have managed to lift and wield Thor’s hammer in comics, movies, or series. It is not always about whether a character is worthy. Sometimes there is also cheating.
If you feel a character is missing from this list, feel free to let us know in the comments.

First appearance of the character:Thor Nr. 337 (November 1983)
Beta Ray Bill hails from the planet Korbin and was a normal resident of the planet. When the demon Surtur threatened to destroy his planet to create a weapon, Bill was chosen as the protector. After a painful operation that disfigured his face, he became a cyborg.
Despite his new power, he was unable to defeat Surtur. In search of a new home, he fought Thor in the Milky Way, yet Bill managed to grab Mjölnir, and it turned out he was worthy.
The new MOBA shooter Deadlock is supposed to be on the verge of a huge update. However, Valve has a tendency not to be reliable with the dates of their games on Steam. Now, the community is warning about the notorious “Valve-Time”.
What kind of huge update is this? Deadlock is currently in a testing phase. Valve periodically releases updates for their new shooter, but the last major one was already five months ago.
Several contents have already been leaked through various leaks. Among other things, several new heroes are said to come with the update for Deadlock. A new game mode and a number of changes to models and gameplay are also expected to be part of the update (reddit.com).
The huge update was said by Valve developer Yoshi to be released in December 2025, but it has been postponed. Now, the developer revealed on the official Discord server that the update is expected to come in January 2026. However, the community is warned by a player who introduces “Valve-Time”.

This is Deadlock – The new MOBA shooter from Valve
Valve has missed the timing so often that it has become a meme
What is “Valve-Time”? The Reddit user ajiezrhmn describes this term as follows: “Valve-Time is essentially the unwritten law that you should push any announced release window back by a few weeks (or months) in your mind. At this point, it’s not even malice or incompetence anymore, it’s tradition.”
Additionally, the user links to the website developer.valvesoftware.com. There is a list of all the timelines that Valve has provided over the years, which have been pushed back by several weeks or even years.
The release of Team Fortress 2 was delayed by several years
What did Valve say about Team Fortress 2? Right at the beginning of the list, the release of Team Fortress 2 stands out. This is a hero shooter from Valve and was announced back in 1998. In a later interview on Gamespot, Robin Walker, one of the main developers of Team Fortress, was asked if the game would be released before the year 2005. Walker replied: “You will definitely have it long before that.”
The release date of Team Fortress 2 was eventually on October 10, 2007.
Is there a more recent example? Yes, for that we look towards the end of the list. According to the website, Valve announced that Steam support for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 would end on January 1, 2024. However, support was actually terminated several months later, on November 5, 2024 (store.steampowered.com).
Overall, there are over 90 entries showing that Valve likes to overshoot their timelines. For completeness, it must be mentioned that there is also the “Reverse-Valve-Time”. This is the exact opposite and shows which updates Valve released before the actual mention.
Although the MMORPG Tibia was released by the German developer CipSoft in 1997, it remains popular today – so much so that players struggled with queues. Some were even afraid to log out. The developers are aware of the issues and have commented on them.
What’s new in Tibia? On November 24, 2025, the Free2Play MMORPG from Germany received a major winter update. This included new areas and monsters. Additionally, it completely revamped the hunting quest system.
Here you can see a trailer showcasing all the new features of the Winter Update 2025 for Tibia:

The Tibia servers cannot handle the influx
So what’s the problem? The update attracted many players, which overloaded the servers. According to the Polish gaming website mmorpg.org, many players complained about performance issues like lags or that the game was no longer running smoothly.
As a result, the developers reduced the capacities of some of the most popular servers, including Antica and Secura, in December. However, this led to a new problem: long queues.
A player shared a photo on Reddit to illustrate the extent of the problem. He wrote: “I watched The Hobbit (Extended Edition) while I was waiting in the queue.” The film lasts about 3 hours and, as seen in the photo, was over before the player landed on the server.
The long queues also caused some players to be afraid to log their character out of the game at all. Instead, they “parked” them in one of the “No-Logout” zones. In these zones, players are not kicked from the server due to inactivity. They let the game continue running until their next session.
Reduced server capacities are only a short-term solution
What do the developers say about it? In a discussion on the official Tibia forum, community manager Liamas said they tried to “find the best possible balance in the short term.” Meanwhile, more players can access the servers again, as the limit has been raised.
The community manager further explains: “Due to the enormous increase in content, Tibia is no longer what it was 15 or 20 years ago.” (not in terms of gameplay, but technically) However, the developers’ goal is to make it as comfortable as possible for all players – this also includes stable performance and shorter queues.
Marco Risch from the channel Nerdkultur has also taken a close look at the new series A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. In his review, he comes to a clear conclusion.
Who is Marco Risch? Since 2015, Marco Risch has been regularly publishing reviews, news, analyses, and also interviews on his YouTube channel Nerdkultur about movies and series.
Moreover, he talks with his colleague Yves Arievich once a week on the Podcast Nerd & Kultur about various topics of pop culture.
Both the YouTube channel and the podcast are part of the Webedia network, which also includes MeinMMO.
Marco from Nerdkultur speaks about the new series A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms
Exactly what we need right now
How does Marco assess the series? Right at the beginning, Marco makes one thing clear: for him, the series shows directly that long-time fans of Game of Thrones must adapt to A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.
The series is very different, it differs significantly from Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon, but it caters to their fans in its own way. Although the series is narratively told differently, one would still recognize the visual style – at its core, Game of Thrones is back.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms would be “nothing less than fantastic,” but it tonally strikes a slightly different chord. It is much more focused on humor and works with flashbacks, as known from classic comedy series like Scrubs.
Once you get used to it, the series follows its familiar course and is exactly what fans of the world need right now. According to Marco, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms resembles more the beginning of Game of Thrones in its scope. It presents small, chivalric moments, while the large, magical world in the background is only hinted at.
The series focuses on one place and only a handful of characters. And Marco has particularly grown fond of them.
What does Marco think of the characters? The series thrives particularly on the dynamic between the two main characters. Ser Duncan the Tall, short Dunk, who experiences adventures with his squire Egg, has, according to Marco, a chemistry that feels genuine, and that is hard to fake.
This kind of interpersonal connection is for Marco “the heart that House of the Dragon lacked”. It is advantageous that the story is told from a clear perspective – namely Dunk’s. He is present in every scene and only knows what he hears, sees, or is told himself. According to Marco, this is a stylistic device that George R.R. Martin also likes to use in his books.
Through the pointed narrative style and the focus on a clear story, the series creates a very satisfying feeling for Marco. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms generally feels more like a long movie than a series – which is due to the runtime of about 30 minutes per episode (a total of 6).
What is the conclusion? Marco concludes that A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is for him the beginning of a new chapter, and he loves everything about it. He also looks hopefully towards the future of the series. Season 2 has already been ordered, and a third could be possible as the underlying novella by George R.R. Martin already exists.
The author is already in talks with the showrunners of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, potentially discussing up to 15 seasons. However, most would still need to be written by Martin. Given the notoriously slow working pace of the writer, Marco shows himself at least somewhat skeptical. What do you think of the series? MeinMMO editor Niko Hernes has reached his own conclusion: A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is not a new Game of Thrones, but that’s a good thing

World of Warcraft enters a new era. Patch 12.0 has forever changed how fundamental aspects of the game work.
Patch 12.0 in World of Warcraft is live. This has marked the beginning of the Midnight era – and with it, an entirely new age in the history of Blizzard’s MMORPG. The expansion brings significant changes that will alter the gameplay experience forever – and this is the case even though the official launch of the addon is still weeks away.
Select a MMO video…
The Major Alleviation of Addons in WoW
What has changed? The most important change affects the addons. Many interface addons will no longer function if they access information from combat. This especially includes addons like WeakAuras, which will no longer work.
At the same time, the transmog system has also been drastically revised. You only pay when you first equip an optical set, and you can then customize as many items with that appearance as you want – as your transmog always overlays your current clothing. You can set the exact parameters for when a transmog should be applied. Those who want can thus always wear a specific set in the house, another in dungeons, and yet another while crafting.
There is also a complex revision of the classes. Over 100 abilities have been completely removed, making all classes a bit leaner and reducing the overall complexity of the classes.
What else has changed? Besides these major systemic changes, there are a few other innovations:
Demon Hunters have a third specialization: Devourer.
Void Elves can become Demon Hunters.
The values have been squished – all numbers are now lower.
Housing now goes up to level 9 and the adventures are active.
Game development isn’t for everyone, but one programmer wanted to find out: He developed a DnD game for the Game Boy Color, and after several months of hard work, you can now dive into the pixelated fantasy world.
What game is it about? A new game for an iconic console: Labyrinth of the Dragon is the title, and it was developed by programmer Ryan from the YouTube channel “NesHacker” for the Game Boy Color.
It is an 8-bit dungeon crawler set in the universe of Dungeons & Dragons. As for the story, you find yourself as a hero in a dungeon and need to solve puzzles, defeat enemies, challenge bosses, collect items, and of course, survive.
He himself describes the development as exciting, for even though the game is now out and looks simple, thousands of lines of code and months of work are behind it. The result is impressive, and those who want can even test and play the game themselves.
A little DnD adventure on the go
What does the game offer? Labyrinth of the Dragon provides a lot of content, for you can expect the following:
12 monsters/bosses
8 dungeons to explore (with all sorts of puzzles)
4 playable characters
The only problem is the lack of a save option. If you close it, you have to start over the next time you turn on your console or emulator. However, NesHacker shares on itch.io that he is working on implementing a save feature.

Dungeons & Dragons Online Trailer 2006 E3
How did the development go? Ryan split the development. He was responsible for the code and the assembly of the game himself. For the designs, he hired a professional artist and funded it through donations from the community.
To build the game (the code), he now faced the choice of engine, but Ryan didn’t want to use a pre-made program. So he decided to build his own using the C programming language and GBDK (Game Boy Development Kit).
However, there were various problems:
The map needs to load a large maze for each dungeon, which requires a lot of resources.
As development progressed, managing various items like chests and their different sprites (computer graphics) became difficult.
The combat system is intended to resemble the classic JRPG style and take place in the first person, but realizing it proved complex.
How were the problems solved? As for the map, he divided it into a 16×16 pixel grid system to save memory. Additionally, he used the “stream-loading” method, which allows the game to load the surrounding, non-visible map while the protagonist moves – just like in Mario.
Regarding the management and updating of individual sprites, Ryan utilized a hash table. Hash tables are data structures that ensure data is stored efficiently for access. This sped up his endeavor. Additionally, Ryan used dynamic memory allocation, also known as the heap. This secured space in RAM to temporarily store data and graphics whose size is not known at compile time.
Last but not least, there was the combat menu, which had multiple areas like the main, sub, and combat menu. Depending on the situation, one wants to quickly switch between these menus, and to achieve this, Ryan used a trick.
He utilized the “interrupt” command in C. This creates split-screen scrolling to quickly fade in and out menu items. The result: a seamless combat experience with a nostalgic touch.
How can I play the game myself? You can download the game for free on itch.io (Source: neshacker.itch.io) and play it with an emulator on your phone or PC. However, if you own a flash card, you can even load the game onto it and play it on the Game Boy Color and Nintendo DS.
NesHacker also provides the source code of his game on GitHub so you can develop and extend the game further if you have the skills. So if anyone wants to implement additional bosses, feel free to do so, especially considering the possibilities from DnD: Dungeons & Dragons: 10 powerful villains you should know
This is an AI-powered translation. Some inaccuracies might exist.
In Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 various builds can be created, some of which are quite powerful and can defeat bosses in seconds. A powerful skill of Maelle was initially quite weak – until the time before the release became tight.
Which skill is meant? Maelle, like all playable characters in Clair Obscur, has access to a range of abilities that significantly ease the challenging expedition. Among them is the notorious Skill Stendhal.
The ability is quite strong and therefore also an essential part of many builds. You receive it at the beginning of Act 3, and given the increasing difficulty of the bosses, it is a welcome help.
Since the game’s release in April 2025, the developers have adjusted the skill, as it was so overpowering initially that it made Clair Obscur in Act 3 somewhat too easy.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 hinterlässt bei den Spielern eine Leere
A Last-Minute Change
What do the developers say? Guillaume Broche, the Creative Director of Clair Obscur, spoke about Stendhal in an interview with Edge Magazine (via gamesradar.com). It may be surprising, but initially the skill was anything but strong; on the contrary:
[Maelle’s Stendhal skill] was very weak during all playtests, and we decided to change it at the last minute [before release], so we didn’t test it properly.
Guillaume Broche
In this case, the change was so significant that the skill went from being a rather weak ability to an overpowering one in an instant. Had there been more time before release to test the skill in its altered form thoroughly, it likely wouldn’t have made it so strong into the final game.
Is Stendhal weak now? The skill was adjusted some time after release by the developers, but it is by no means bad. For a strong Maelle build, it is still a very good choice.
A group of popular content creators has come together to play Dungeons & Dragons together. The twist is that they play themselves and build characters based on their own expertise.
What kind of group is this? The group calls itself Min-Maxed and does not consist, like the probably most famous group in Dungeons & Dragons Critical Role or the German Dice Actors, of well-known voice actors, but of content creators from the so-called WeaponTube scene, who primarily deal with content about historical weapons, martial arts, LARP, and tabletop role-playing games.
Content creator Tater the Bard (Instagram | YouTube | TikTok) acts as the Dungeon Master (DM), focusing mainly on humorous “analyses” and rankings from a game master’s perspective.
The uniqueness of the planned campaign: All players are currently building characters based on their own expertise, as they will be playing themselves. The participants are currently working on their alter egos and sharing the process on their channels. The group’s first meeting is planned for January 2026, while the first episode is scheduled to release on YouTube in March 2026.
Even now, the group has around 313,000 subscribers on YouTube, although the campaign has not yet started. How popular the concept and the composition of the group are is also shown by the specially launched GoFundMe campaign.

The 4th Campaign of Critical Role starts now and is bigger than ever
Funding goal exceeded by more than 5×
What was the GoFundMe campaign for? Since the group members live all over the place, they launched a GoFundMe campaign at the end of 2025 to secure funding for real meetings. They preferred not to start it all online. Their goal was to raise 20,000 USD so the group could gather in the studio of content creator David Miller, who is behind Sellsword Arts.
By the end of the campaign, they were able to raise their funding goal even in a 5-fold manner and achieved a budget of 100,116 USD.
What does the community say about the campaign? The enthusiasm for the idea and the founding of the group can also be found in the comments under the campaign:
Mark Rigby-Jones writes: “I am very much looking forward to it. Important question: Will Blumineck’s character wear high heels?” referencing some of the content creator’s viral videos where he shoots arrows in high heels at the pole.
Linnea Springer is excited: “I can’t wait! Brilliant idea, brilliant people. Jacques, you will be the most epic bard ever! Whip it good!”
Vinnessa Seely even says: “Avengers, step aside! THIS is the most ambitious crossover of the decade!!! Thank you to everyone who donated what they could!”
Hytale has captivated many players since its release and is also on the minds of the mod community. Eager tinkerers have already managed to get well-known games and programs running within the software.
In particular, mods that not only add or change elements in the game but actually bring entire games and programs to life through Hytale seem to be exciting. This is possible thanks to an easily modifiable server code provided by the developers at Hypixel Studios.
On the website hytalemodding.com, the modders emphasize that the game’s client cannot be changed yet, but it does not determine how the game and the UI look. That role belongs to the servers.
Already, the modders are showing what is possible. In addition to well-known games, an old operating system and Hytale itself can be started within the game.

What has been included in Hytale? It may sound strange, but it is indeed possible to launch the very first Doom from 1993 in Hytale. A video from the YouTube channel tr7zw shows what this looks like. Admittedly, it’s very pixelated, but essentially, you can recognize the game.
The user describes the experience as bumpy: “The controls work a bit like a broken keyboard, the code does not follow best practices at all, but it is enough to somewhat play the game.”

It gets particularly absurd when Hytale is launched within Hytale itself. Here too, the performance could handle some more FPS. The result in the video on x.com shows, however, that it is possible.
For those who are nostalgic, there is a mod that launches the Windows 95 operating system in Hytale. In a video shared on the Hytale Modding account on x.com, you can see how the modder iamcxv7 starts the operating system and clicks through various functions.

What does the community say about this? Unsurprisingly, the mod experiments are well-received. Under the post on x.com, which shows the implementation of Windows 95, users share their thoughts:
“It took only five days… how,” writes the official Hytale account, to which Hytale Modding replies: “We can do EVERYTHING.”
“Can Skyrim run on this?”, asks Matt LeClair the only relevant question – unfortunately, an answer is still pending.
“This happened faster than I expected,” admits Hymods.
“Next, GTA 6 in Hytale,” writes Leahcim – a hope that, given the pending release of Rockstar’s title, will likely be dashed.
It is also amusing that some users are asking for Doom or Hytale within Hytale. The answer is always the same: “That already exists.”
If the modding community continues like this, we can look forward to what creative, absurd, and funny mods will emerge for Hytale in the future. Do you have suggestions for that? With the announcement of the release date for the shooter “Marathon” Bungie also released a voice cast for the localization. And it features some very well-known voices.
How does Marathon stand out? While other genre representatives, like ARC Raiders, focus on AI-driven text-to-speech (see PCGamesN), Marathon relies on custom-recorded lines from well-known voice actors. This is especially evident from the cast list that Bungie released with the announcement.
Looking at the list, prominent names like Jennifer English, Ben Starr, Neil Newbon, Samantha Béart, and Tracy Wiles stand out, whose voices you can particularly hear in popular role-playing games such as Baldur’s Gate 3 and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Moreover, popular and recognizable voices from other blockbusters were hired to bring the world of Marathon to life.

The Twitch Guild Sauercrowd players are dying in WoW Hardcore. While this is part of the cycle of the game, the deaths are particularly bitter because many characters at maximum level are affected. HandOfBlood, Metashi, and Papaplatte are now steering and enacting new rules.
However, many characters have recently been lost, mainly at high levels, often even at level 60. In one dungeon, 4 players died right away. The problem is that in WoW Hardcore, deaths are permanent, and the setbacks are now jeopardizing the guild.
This is how the guild leadership reacts: In a recent stream, Papaplatte, one of the guild leaders, reacted to the various deaths (on YouTube). He looks at who has died and concludes with a pretty devastating statement:
These are all deaths that could have been avoided. No joke, people need to start putting their egos aside. We need to realize that we are all too bad to do this alone. There are a few individuals who can do it, but most of us are too bad. Level together, level in threes. There’s no reason to push your ego here, folks.
Papaplatte also looks at the death of the first player at level 60, Willib0, who met his end due to a lot of bad luck during a crucial quest—followed by several more clips of questionable actions, where players attempt to fight dungeon bosses solo or make fleeting newbie mistakes. And all at high levels.
The guild leader fears for the future of the guild and concludes: “I don’t know if we can make it […] I swear, we will never see Molten Core.” Shortly thereafter, the triumvirate of leadership, consisting of Papaplatte, HandOfBlood, and Metashi, calls for a crisis meeting and reaches out to the guild members.

WoW: Guild loses 30 characters on a hardcore server – And it wasn’t even a boss fight
“The venerable guild leadership is very satisfied with how the event is going so far. Nevertheless…”
On Sunday, January 18, the guild leadership scheduled a meeting for all members in Loch Modan. Among other topics, they discussed increasing the taxes, holding a minute of silence for the fallen, and a major new feature: RestedXP.
RestedXP is an addon with a guide for WoW Classic, designed for easy and quick leveling. It allows for automatic quest turn-ins and provides detailed breakdowns of all quest tasks. A free version is available up to level 30; anything above that costs money.
So far, RestedXP has been prohibited for Sauercrowd members or only allowed in a limited capacity. However, those restrictions are now lifted. HandOfBlood says (on YouTube):
We found it cool to have this “raw” WoW experience in the event so far. […] The venerable guild leadership is very satisfied with how the event is going so far. Nevertheless, we have come to the agreement that we would loosen this up a bit, and from now on RestedXP will be available unlimited.

The goal is for as many new players as possible to see the endgame and especially the famous first raid, Molten Core. Deaths at high levels should be less frustrating this way when leveling a new character is not as strenuous.
Battlefield 6 has released a change to the jets with update 1.1.3.5, but it is exactly the opposite of what pilots urgently desire.
How does Battlefield 6 disappoint the pilots? Anyone who enjoys flying jets has had a difficult time in Battlefield 6 for months. The aircraft has struggled with issues since release, leading some pilots to demand more love for their flying monsters months ago.
While the developers have addressed some of the issues since then, many pilots remain dissatisfied. EA has now released update 1.1.3.5, which went live on January 20. However, instead of bringing urgently needed fixes for the jets, the update brought a nerf for the jets’ cannons (via EA.com).
Start video
Battlefield 6 bringt den Sweet-Spot zurück – So funktioniert er
This is the nerf: With update 1.1.3.5, the cannons of the jets deal less damage to other aircraft, including helicopters. Jets now require about 40% more hits to destroy an enemy aircraft. Since there have been no changes to the helicopters’ armament, the attack helicopter now stands a significantly better chance in aerial combat with jets than before the update.
“The big jet update we’ve all been waiting for”
This is how the community reacts: Many comments on social media show frustration and confusion over the nerf. Silk, a YouTuber and Twitch streamer considered one of the best pilots in the game, writes on X in an ironic post:
“The big jet update we’ve all been waiting for. We’re so back.”
He also lists various criticisms that jets currently face, which the update does not address, such as spawn camping at jet spawns, bugs affecting the flares, and the aircraft’s radar, which has been broken for months.
Other users adopt a similar tone. One comments: “Another nerf for vehicles. You really hate what you’re famous for.”
Here’s what else is in update 1.1.3.5: The patch also included improvements to responsiveness, consistency, and sprint behavior during melee attacks. Additionally, the user interface and HUD have been slightly improved.
You can see the full patch notes for update 1.1.3.5 here:

Pokémon GO shows its new season in the trailer
Dyna Battle Weekend with Strong Attacker
What kind of monster is this? It is the legendary monster Ho-Oh from Generation 2. It will be available in 5-star Dynamax raids during a Dyna Battle Weekend from Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 6:00 AM to Sunday, February 1, 2026, at 9:00 PM.
As Ho-Oh is a strong Fire-type attacker, the monster could be a great addition to your Dyna teams.
You can also obtain the monster as shiny. However, the chances of this are not additionally increased.
What bonuses are there in the event? During the Dyna Battle Weekend, the following bonuses are active in the game:
The collection limit for Dyna particles will be increased to 1,600
1/4 of the usual walking distance needed to obtain Dyna particles
Power sources refresh more frequently
8 times the amount of Dyna particles from power sources
What limited research is available? Already before the event, starting Monday, January 26, 2026, at 6:00 AM, you will receive a free limited research task. You have until Sunday, February 1, 2026, at 9:00 PM to complete it.
There you will receive a Dynamax Kabuto and candies for the monster as rewards. You can also snag Dyna particles here.
For $4.99 (approximately €5), you can also purchase an event ticket. This will grant you another limited research task in which you receive 6,400 Dyna particles and 25,000 experience points. Additionally, ticket holders will earn double experience points for Dyna battles during the event, as well as more candies and XL candies when participating in 5-star Dyna battles.
When will the monster return? Typically, monsters in Pokémon GO are rotated back into the game at some point. When that will happen for Dynamax Ho-Oh is currently not known. If you want to have the attacker, you should take advantage of the event to secure it.
Not only the Dyna Battle Weekend is upcoming this month in Pokémon GO. There are a whole host of other content such as events, raids, and spotlight hours. If you want to know what they are, feel free to take a look at our overview with all events in January 2026 in Pokémon GO.

World of Warcraft may get a “second Cataclysm” – as the developers want to fill the old world with new life.
Looking back at the past of WoW, there are some expansions that weren’t received well. One of them was “Cataclysm”. Although the story was good, many did not like the add-on because old areas were completely overhauled and old content was removed irretrievably.
Since then, Blizzard has been reluctant to massively renew old areas. While there are occasionally individual areas – like Arathi Highlands or Darkshore – often only minor changes have been made and the general structure of the zone has been retained.
However, the overwhelming feedback on “Midnight” during the beta ensures that the developers are now taking a real run-up and have big plans for Northrend.

WoW Midnight shows gameplay – All new features
What was said? In a video from Game Informer, various WoW developers talk about the future of the game and especially the upcoming expansion “The Last Titan”. They also discuss their concerns and fears they had when announcing the World Souls saga – especially the return to old areas.
New areas expected – Old areas delivered
What was the concern? With a new expansion, there are always high expectations that have formed clearly over the past 20 years. There are new areas and usually entirely unknown cultures to explore. Ion Hazzikostas, the Game Director of WoW, said:
It is actually essential that when we build a living world, we are able to tell new stories in familiar areas. It would be so limiting if we say that the most iconic areas in World of Warcraft cannot be utilized because we say: “We have already told a story there, which existed at a certain moment in time, and sorry, we can never go back there again.”
Why did Midnight make the difference? When Midnight was in development, the developers were nervous about how the “new areas” of the expansion would be received by the community. After all, the Immersangwald is essentially not a “new area”, but an ancient zone from The Burning Crusade that has been fundamentally revamped and renewed for Midnight.
According to Paul Kubit, the Associate Game Director:
I think we were very open about being quite nervous about returning to Quel’Thalas due to the implied promise that you explore unknown areas in a WoW expansion and see new cultures and faces. And now having this story, which is itself very cool – seeing Silvermoon again, how it has grown and how the characters have changed – brings a lot of excitement. Even if it doesn’t have quite the same “We’re traveling to the Dragon Isles, to a place we’ve never seen before” feel.
How much of Northrend will be revamped? Although there are no concrete statements about it yet, it currently sounds like the answer is “everything”. Because Blizzard wants to avoid having “new area” seen right next to “visually outdated areas”. That is also one of the reasons why the Ghostlands and Zul’Aman were revamped for Midnight at the same time, so that there is a large, continuous, and visually coherent experience.
To achieve that in Northrend, there is really no other option but to perform a complete overhaul here as well and maybe consolidate a few areas.
Are you excited for The Last Titan and the finale of the World Souls saga? If so, there should be new information about it later this year. Because BlizzCon takes place in September – and most people assume Blizzard will already give a first look at the 13th expansion of World of Warcraft.

A princess must be pretty, nice, and courteous. Or, as in this anime, simply settle everything with brute force from her fists.
There are anime where you think: What the hell am I actually watching? I often look out for such anime – simply because I like to experience something new and want to remain open to fresh ideas. The last thing on my mind is actually another spin-off of the (rather exaggerated) “villainess” genre.
But “May I Ask for One Final Thing?” has just the kind of twist that is enough to keep me entertained.
Start video
The trailer for the unusual Villainess anime May I Ask for One Final Thing?
A princess chooses the path of brute force
What is the anime about? Scarlet El Vandimion is the daughter of a count and has been promised in marriage to the prince of her country since childhood, as soon as they reach adulthood. To preserve the reputation of her house, she endures his humiliations.
At a ball, the prince draws all attention to Scarlet. He accuses her of bullying an ordinary woman named Terenezza Hopkins, simply because she has won the prince’s heart. Terenezza is apparently lying and seems to have seduced the prince. At this moment of humiliation, he also annuls his engagement to Scarlet – which is a release for her.
Before leaving the ball, she asks: “May I ask for one final thing?”
The prince agrees, and her wish follows promptly: “May I punch this bitch in the face?”
Yes, and then … Scarlet does exactly that. She not only coldly beats up Terenezza but also all the other nobles at the ball, including the prince. Blood sprays, walls are smashed, and people fly all over the ballroom.
Freed from her social obligations, she can – much to her brother’s distress and the second prince’s delight – tackle other problems in the world, which she mostly solves with her fists. There hardly is an episode where Scarlet’s face doesn’t get some blood splatters.
Scarlet makes short work of everyone who annoys her.
Where can you watch the anime? The anime “May I Ask for One Final Thing?” is currently available on Crunchyroll and consists of 13 episodes. So you can comfortably binge-watch it over a weekend.
Who is the anime worth it for? Basically for anyone who just wants to relax a bit and not think too much. The story is rather shallow but entertaining enough. The characters are all “nice” and interesting enough to keep watching – but one shouldn’t expect a complex story here.
It’s the usual “political intrigues at a superficial level in a magical fantasy world,” which exists in almost every villainess anime – but with the uniqueness that Scarlet enforces her plans with the violence of her fists. That is immensely satisfying.
Is this the best anime I have ever seen? No, definitely not. The characters are sometimes quite one-dimensional, and somehow you get the impression that you have seen most of them as archetypes in two or twenty other anime. I also believe that the length of 13 episodes is perfect because at some point, “She just beats everyone up” wears off a bit. 13 more episodes wouldn’t have been necessary, but this length was optimal.
Yet the anime has enough fresh ideas to simply be “something different.” The fact that the protagonist is rooted in her own world and not “the chosen one summoned from another world” is a nice twist. In fact, the idea that the “Isekai” person is the villain is a great thing.
The “villainess” genre has worn out extremely quickly and belongs to the anime representatives where one can say: “If you know one, you know them all” – Scarlet with her brute mentality is a novelty that can at least entertain for 13 episodes.
The past anime season may have been a bit weak, but at least a few small highlights like “May I Ask for One Final Thing?” ensure that it’s worth taking a closer look at one or two series. If you prefer to explore a few classics among anime, we have here 3 legendary anime that hardly anyone knows today.

The Power Armor from Fallout is one of the most important technologies for the wasteland inhabitants. Now a fan is wondering if it could be replicated in the real world, but the community finds two problems.
What is the Power Armor from Fallout? The Power Armor was developed by West-Tek before the Great War (October 23, 2077), in 2065. In Fallout 4 and Fallout 76, they are powered by a fusion core, a small nuclear battery.
A Power Armor would make you stronger in almost every category. Strength, radiation resistance, and armor are significantly enhanced by the Power Armor, but sneaking with it becomes rather difficult.
Fallout 76 zeigt den Ghul aus der Serie im neuen Trailer zum Update Burning Springs
Community finds two major problems for a real Power Armor
What are the problems with a real Power Armor? The Reddit user deejay-tech addresses both problems directly: the weight of the armor and the power supply.
Since the Power Armor in Fallout is bulletproof, the real armor would have to be well-armored accordingly. The user writes that the amounts of metal needed to make the armor as bulletproof as in the games or the series would be immense.
The high weight required to make the armor safe directly affects the second problem: the power supply. According to the user, such a heavy armor would also need a corresponding battery. In the Fallout universe, this power source is the fusion core (Fallout 4 and 76), which is purely fictional.
Another user writes that our current state of development for power supply is not sufficient for us to build a real Power Armor. However, he notes that everything else, except for the power supply, is feasible (reddit.com).
Is there a real Power Armor? Almost, the YouTube channel Hacksmith Industries is currently building a real Power Armor. In several videos, they share their progress and the problems encountered during the realization.
The issue of power supply is also a major topic. In the fourth episode of the project, Hacksmith Industries discusses realistic power supplies and how their lithium battery, which is about the size of a cereal box, can barely power the suit for seven minutes.
With eight of these lithium batteries, the suit can eventually be powered for an hour. The YouTuber goes further and shows how much energy a fusion core from the games would provide. According to him, 300 milliliters of nuclear energy is enough to run their Power Armor for over 100 years. Currently, their armor is powered by a mix of compressed air, electronics, and gasoline.
Also, the VATS system is one of the well-known features from the Fallout game universe. With it, you can briefly pause the battle and target specific body parts of your enemies. This iconic mechanic almost didn’t become part of Fallout: An iconic feature from Fallout almost never happened

Currently, you can get a strategy game on Steamfor only €4, a game that combines the gameplay of Civilization with stories reminiscent of Crusader Kings.
Which game is it? It refers to Old World. The 4X strategy game from Mohawk Games initially resembles the famous Civilization series, and Soren Johnson, the lead designer of Civilization 4, is behind the project.
On Steam, you can currently get Old World for €3.99 instead of the usual €39.99. This offer is only valid until January 22, 2026.
Here you can see the trailer for the “Wrath of Gods” DLC for Old World:
Start video
Old World: Trailer for the DLC Wrath of Gods for the strategy game on Steam
Civilization meets Crusader Kings in Antiquity
What kind of game is this? At its core, it is a 4X strategy game that closely resembles Civilization. You initially choose a people and your leader. Some peoples allow you to choose from several different leaders, each with their own bonuses.
After that, you select the map and difficulty level for your game. There are pre-made historical maps, but you can also create a random map. Once you are in the game, you’ll encounter the first mechanics familiar from the Civilization series:
The map is divided into many small hexagonal fields. Many of these contain important resources like horses, stone, or iron.
You found cities with settlers; with workers, you build farms, mines, and many other buildings around your cities.
The first major difference from Civilization is that you do not lead your people through the various ages of human history. The game begins in Antiquity and remains there. Additionally, Old World mixes in some family mechanics known from Crusader Kings.
You are not only leading your people through the game, but also your dynasty: Family members are repeatedly involved in events and dilemmas that can impact their future. If your family dies out, the game ends.
What do players say about Old World? On Steam, the strategy game is rated “very positive” – out of over 5,000 reviews, 82% recommend the game. Old World is thus received much better than other titles that aimed to establish themselves as “Civ killers,” such as Humankind or Ara: History Untold.
Regarding player numbers on Steam, Old World trails significantly behind the well-known Civilization series. Even the controversial Civ 7 had nearly 10,000 concurrent players in the past 24 hours (as of January 20, 2026, 12:20 PM, via SteamDB). Old World had about 1,300 concurrent players in the same timeframe (via SteamDB).
Nonetheless, fans insist that Old World is the better game:
User Fouadh writes in his Steam review: “This is the true civ killer.” At that time, he had already invested over 4,700 hours into the game.
robeofmanhog writes as a Civ fan after over 3,800 hours in his Steam review: “If you’re a fan of the 4X genre, this is a must play.”
As a strong alternative to Civilization, which still receives updates, Old World also made it onto our list of the best strategy games in 2025. From real-time strategy to building, including new hits and old classics, everything is included. Bungie has confirmed with a new trailer that Marathon will be released in 2 months. Some fans believe this is a good sign.
What is Marathon? Marathon is an extraction shooter (PvPvE) in the first-person perspective, developed by Bungie, the studio behind Destiny 2. Gameplay-wise, Marathon is a classic extraction shooter with elements of a hero shooter.
You prepare a loadout before each round and spawn on a map with NPC enemies and other players.
During a run, you collect loot and complete assignments to improve your character.
You embody a so-called runner. These are cybernetic mercenaries, each with different abilities. There is, for example, an assassin who can become invisible or a scout who uses a pulse to detect enemies.
Now Bungie has released a new trailer that reveals the exact release date and the contents of each edition, including a collector’s box for 229 euros.

Developers of Marathon introduce the game characters in the video
Here is the new information: Bungie has announced with a new gameplay trailer that Marathon will be released on March 5, 2026, in 2 months. Additionally, you can now pre-order Marathon in various versions.
Standard Edition: €39.99
Deluxe Edition: €59.99
Collector’s Edition without game: €170.00
Collector’s Edition with game: €229.99
With the Collector’s Edition, you will receive among other things a statue of the runner “Thief”, postcards, and a lenticular poster – basically a flip picture that creates the illusion of movement.
Here you can watch the new trailer on YouTube:

Here are the reactions to the trailer: On YouTube, there are mixed reactions to the trailer. Some users feel that the game looks better than during initial tests about a year ago. Others praise the aesthetics.
A comment under the trailer also suggests that the release date is a sign that Bungie feels good about the game and its current state of development:
“Wow, I thought it would be out at the end of March. Bungie must be really confident about the current state of the game.”
The comment received over 230 likes in less than 24 hours. Some responses elaborated that they had actually enjoyed the recent playtests a lot.
Are there also negative reactions? Many users advise against pre-ordering, even if they like the game so far. Some speculate that there will be a final public test in February, where interested players can get another impression. Others hope, similar to ARC Raiders, that there will be a PvE mode.
The RuneScape franchise is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2026 and the festivities are kicking off today in RuneScape 3 with an update that everyone has probably been waiting for.
What is happening today in RuneScape? The developers of RuneScape have announced the start of their anniversary year in a video and blog post on runescape.com. They not only shared a roadmap for 2026 but also immediately completed the first step.
After a 2025 survey, players wanted the in-game “Treasure Hunter” system, which enabled microtransactions and pay-to-win, to be removed from RuneScape. That is exactly what the developers have now done, completely removing the system from their game. But that was just a small part of what is supposed to happen in 2026.
