With the announcement of the release date for the shooter “Marathon” Bungie also released a voice cast for the localization. And it features some very well-known voices.
How does Marathon stand out? While other genre representatives, like ARC Raiders, focus on AI-driven text-to-speech (see PCGamesN), Marathon relies on custom-recorded lines from well-known voice actors. This is especially evident from the cast list that Bungie released with the announcement.
Looking at the list, prominent names like Jennifer English, Ben Starr, Neil Newbon, Samantha Béart, and Tracy Wiles stand out, whose voices you can particularly hear in popular role-playing games such as Baldur’s Gate 3 and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Moreover, popular and recognizable voices from other blockbusters were hired to bring the world of Marathon to life.
