Will players be able to fly in WoW: Shadowlands again? Blizzard has already answered the question, but BlizzCon attendees were not satisfied.
At BlizzCon 2019, there was again a “Q&A” with the developers of World of Warcraft. Besides some questions about the story and WoW: Classic, it also covered the newly announced expansion “Shadowlands”. And what topic is burning at the community more than the question of flying?
Will players be able to fly in Shadowlands? The moderator wanted to know from the developers if players can fly in WoW: Shadowlands again and if so, under what conditions that will happen. Ion Hazzikostas, the Game Director, promptly answered this question. Yes, players will be able to fly in Shadowlands again, and the unlocking will be just like it was in previous expansions.
The mix of cheers and boos made Ion Hazzikostas smile.
Loud boos and dissatisfaction: Right after the answer, you could hear a mix of applause and boos, although the negative voices were clearer and more prominent at that moment. Hazzikostas explained that this very mix in the community led to them continuing down this path. There is no solution that satisfies all players, which is why the developers stick to the current system. It is a compromise that both sides have to live with.
What does this mean for players? For players of WoW: Shadowlands, it means they will likely have to complete a multi-part “Pathfinder” achievement again. Typically, you have to:
Complete all quest lines of all new areas
Have a Respectful reputation with all new factions
Reveal the entire map of the Shadowlands
Complete 100 current world quests
Whether the requirements in Shadowlands will be identical remains to be seen. At least the basic principle will likely be the same. This would also mean that flying cannot be unlocked with Patch 9.0, but only at a later time (perhaps Patch 9.1 or Patch 9.2).
What do you think about this decision? Is the system good as it is? Or should Blizzard choose another method of unlocking?
Your character in World of Warcraft will soon receive more customization options. We have already seen some details and insights.
At BlizzCon 2019, numerous details about the future of World of Warcraft were released, although they have somewhat taken a backseat to the cinematic of Shadowlands. The developers want to give players much more customization so that everyone can play a character of their choice. Some new options have already been revealed.
Which races will have customizations? The customizations mainly affect the “original races”, the original 8 species, but Draenei and Blood Elves will also receive some new features. It is still unclear whether this will also apply to Goblins, Worgen, and Pandaren.
New customizations for the old races are coming.
What new customizations are available?
In the presentations regarding World of Warcraft, some of the new customizations were introduced. Some of these are still only early concepts, but the following changes are nearly confirmed:
Humans with new faces: Humans have had a rather monotonous look in World of Warcraft. The variety of faces and skin colors is supposed to increase, allowing players to make their character look a bit more like themselves if they wish. Therefore, faces will also be implemented that have a more Asian or African American appearance.
Undead without exposed bones: Those who play an Undead have so far had to deal with bones protruding from elbows, shoulders, and legs. But perhaps one does not want to play such a decayed corpse? In that case, players will soon have the option to simply hide the bones and have flesh and skin there – almost like living humans.
Ion Hazzikostas presents the new customizations – there was much cheer.
Trolls with new colors: New skin colors for trolls have been introduced, allowing players to essentially play a troll from different tribes, such as a Farraki. Additionally, there are numerous skin paint options to create more variation among the individual trolls.
Dwarf tattoos like the Wildhammers: For dwarves, there are a variety of paints and tattoos. Players have long wished to be able to play not only Dark Iron dwarves but also a Wildhammer dwarf. At least aesthetically, this will be possible in the future.
Draenei with long tails: In an interview, it was additionally revealed that Draenei will also receive new customizations. Female Draenei, for instance, will have the ability to choose a different length for their tails. The files for this have long been present in WoW but were previously reserved for NPCs.
More hairstyles for all races: Basically, the developers also want to increase the number of available hairstyles for all races. This has been occasionally done in the past for individual species, but this time all races will receive new hairstyles for more options.
Eye color separate from face: For most WoW races, the eye color is currently tied to the respective face. This should change in the future. Players will then be able to choose an eye color freely without necessarily having to choose a specific face.
These are just a few examples. In the coming weeks and months, the developers aim to reveal even more of the new customizations.
You can mainly find many raid passes in the Hyperbox and go hunting for the shiny Regis.
You can save this many coins in November 2019
This is the calculation: We have compared the prices of the offer boxes with the prices of an 8-pack. The individual prices of the items were not used to arrive at the result.
Name of the box
Contents
Price/Savings
Special Box
4x Raid Pass, 1x Super Incubator, 2x Star Piece
480/220 (31%)
Hyper Box
17x Raid Pass, 2x Super Incubator, 3x Lucky Egg, 10x Max Potion
1480/1010 (41%)
Adventure Box
12x Super Incubator, 4x Incubator, 3x Lucky Egg, 10x Max Potion
1480/1910 (56%)
The boxes are worth it
Special Box: A savings of 31% for a special box is quite solid. All 3 items can be used well and are by no means worthless. If you don’t have many coins but want to get raid passes quickly, you can’t go wrong here. However, the larger boxes are always better.
Hyper Box: It is rare to find 17 raid passes in a Hyper Box. Therefore, it is worth it if you want to raid a lot. Unfortunately, there are also Max Potions included, which devalue the box a bit. However, you can be happy about the return of Lucky Eggs. They haven’t been in the box for a long time. The box is not spectacular, but there hasn’t been a really strong box lately.
Adventure Box: The numerous incubators are useful for the mini-event surrounding the Regi Trio and the savings are solid as well. But again, the Max Potions diminish the offer a bit. Again, one waits in vain for a really strong offer.
Which box should you buy? Overall, this time all boxes are fine. Simply based on savings, the Adventure Box offers the most.
If you prefer not to need special items and would rather save coins, you won’t go wrong either. The offer boxes aren’t overwhelming this time.

The announcement of Overwatch 2 has caused confusion among many fans. Is this supposed to be a sequel or a DLC? Some comments and information should now provide more clarity.
This is how the merging works: When Overwatch 2 is released, it will be merged in many areas with the original Overwatch. Players of both games will then play together and new maps and heroes will come for both games.
The shared content has already been confirmed by Overwatch head Jeff Kaplan in the “What’s Next?” panel for Overwatch 2. Some attendees of BlizzCon, like the French streamer AlphaCast, confirm this:

Confirmed: The client from the current Overwatch will merge with the client from Overwatch 2. There will only be one game.
Overwatch 2 – The “redefined sequel”
What exactly is Overwatch 2 now? Overwatch 2 has been announced as a sequel to Overwatch. It offers a new look and some features that will not be present in the base game, such as:
Additionally, with Overwatch 2 the new PvP mode Push will be released. However, according to the information, this is already part of the content that affects both Overwatch and Overwatch 2.
Moreover, the new hero Sojourn has already been confirmed, who will also come to Overwatch 2. She will also be playable in the original Overwatch, just like all the other heroes that are still to come.
Where does the confusion come from? After the announcement, many fans were unclear about what Overwatch 2 was actually supposed to be. For many, it sounded more like a DLC than a new game.
This is how fans are reacting: The fact that Overwatch 2 comes as a quasi unnecessary expansion for Overwatch pleases many current players. They have the choice to either spend money on PvE modes and more or stick to the old game.
That was the last bit of information I needed to know that this is simply the best way they could go with Overwatch 2. Consumer-friendly monetization.
There are still people today who cannot afford new games or whose hardware cannot handle it. The fact that these players can continue to play with their friends even though they are playing the successor is genius.
When is Overwatch 2 being released? A specific date for Overwatch 2 has not yet been announced. However, the panel on the future of the Overwatch League may have revealed a bit more:

Here is what the winners say: Midlaner Caps said after the victory in an interview (via Inven), that his team was “often against the wall” – especially in the last match, they were far behind. Thus, they simply thought from kill to kill to get back into the match. That paid off in the end.
He said, “It was just totally crazy today, to be honest,” says Caps. Now he is just happy.
Perkz, he won it at the end.
What happens next: G2 Esports won the semi-finals with 3:1. They are now heading to Paris, where next weekend, on Sunday, November 10 at around 1:00 PM, the big final against FunPlus Phoenix will take place.

The semi-finals of the LoL Worlds 2019 were played today in Madrid. The Europeans from G2 Esports defeated the Korean superteam SKT1 with a score of 3:1. This means that the greatest player of all time in League of Legends, Faker, is eliminated from the championship.
What was played? It was the semi-finals of the LoL World Championship in Madrid, where they were looking for the final opponent for FunPlus Phoenix in Paris. They had won yesterday against Invictus Gaming.
G2 Esports is the “European super-team,” as they have acquired the strongest player from rival Fnatic, the midlaner Caps, and are stronger than ever in 2019. Their own midlaner Perkz now plays the ADC.
However, G2 Esports has earned the reputation of “the best team Europe has ever produced.” However, they lost 2 games against a Korean team in the group stage.
At that point, some doubted whether G2 Esports was already ready for the big teams.
This is Jankos – the strong jungler of G2 Esports.
Just as large a team was waiting for them in the semi-finals.
SKT1 is the Korean team led by the legendary midlaner Faker. He is regarded as the “greatest LoL player” of all time.
This year, he has gathered particularly strong players around him. However, they were almost all inexperienced on the international stage before the World Championship.
Still, Khan on the top lane or Clid in the jungle had already shown that they could win games on their own. This was necessary, especially since Faker appeared to be out of form during the quarter-finals.
Faker is the epitome of the midlaner and the most legendary player of LoL.
Europe defeats Korea 3:1 at the LoL World Championship
Here is how the series went: It was a balanced series where both teams gave no quarter. As soon as one team took the lead, a tiny mistake was enough for the opponents to catch up again.

This is representative of the game: There is a First Blood for G2, but then it is immediately 1:1.
Whenever a team made a move, the opponent countered at another part of the map, or the leading team wanted to force the fight and failed:
When Jankos succeeded with a strong gank on the top lane, SKT1 took the dragon in the bot lane.
In one match, Khan was 2-0 ahead on the top lane and had Wunder completely under control. But he got overconfident, pushed too far forward, and then carelessly got caught.

The game kept shifting back and forth; neither team gave an inch.
However, in the early games, the luck was predominantly on the side of G2 Esports.
G2 Esports won Game 1 after 34 minutes with a score of 10-8, a cautious game with few group fights.
Game 2 was won by SKT1 in 36 minutes with a score of 21-7, a clear affair where Faker showed up on LeBlanc (6-1-5), Khan on Renekton (7-0-5), and Teddy on Yasuo (5-1-8).
Game 3 was taken by G2 Esports in 33 minutes with a score of 19:12. Perkz was outstanding on Xayah with 9-0-4. He is reputed to be the best “Xayah” player in the world.
It was noticeable that SKT1 was unable to convert the advantages their gameplay brought them. Even the Baron buff could not be used by SKT1 to pull ahead; instead, they lost in the team fight.

SKT1 substitutes Mata in for rescue
After the first 3 games, G2 Esports surprisingly led 2:1 and had match point.
SKT1 responded by taking the young support, Effort, out of the lineup. He had quite messed up Game 3. Analysts speculated that the pressure of the situation and the loud Spanish crowd were too much for the nerves of the 18-year-old.
Ultimately, G2 Esports was the stronger team. Also because they did not show any signs of pressure.

This is an AI-powered translation. Some inaccuracies might exist.
In World of Warcraft: Shadowlands players will be able to choose what to tackle and when. Only the first time it will be mandatory.
Leveling and gearing up Twinks in Battle for Azeroth is not very pleasant. There are many small stumbling blocks like artifact power or the essences for the Heart of Azeroth. In WoW: Shadowlands it is supposed to be different and players will receive more freedom – at least with their second characters. The first character must follow a fixed path.
What was said? At BlizzCon it was revealed that the areas in Shadowlands will follow a narrative storyline. In plain language, this means that players will have to play through the areas in a fixed order. Unlike in Legion or Battle for Azeroth, you cannot choose between multiple starting areas, but must follow a defined storyline that tackles one area at a time. This is intended to tell a larger, more comprehensive story.
At the end of this story, players can choose a “Covenant” and join one of the four factions of Shadowlands. This comes with special bonuses and its own endgame campaign.
Twinks are not subject to the restriction: However, this system does not apply to second characters. Once a character has completed the Shadowlands storyline, you have more choices with Twinks. You can then start in an area of your choice or level only through dungeons or PvP – just as you like. Additionally, Twinks can choose a Covenant upon entering the Shadowlands and make progress with it. This is referred to as the “New Game +” experience.
This is supposed to ensure that Twinks at Level 60 do not start “from scratch,” but already have made significant progress for the Covenant.
A second character at Level 60 will already have more endgame progress than your first character who just reached Level 60.
New players have even less choice: There is one more restriction for players who are completely new to World of Warcraft. They will be “forced” to start in the new starting area “Exile’s Reach.” Afterward, they must quest in “Battle for Azeroth” before they can enter the Shadowlands.
The developers made this decision for several reasons. On the one hand, Battle for Azeroth is the latest expansion and has the most modern leveling flow. On the other hand, Battle for Azeroth is also the current storyline and should prepare players for what will happen in the Shadowlands.
Existing players and second characters do not have to go through this. They can quest wherever they like.
The Twitch streamer “kurt0411” completely freaked out during one of his streams, resulting in EA banning him from all tournaments of FIFA 20. However, even then, he showed no remorse.
What kind of streamer is he? Kurt “kurt0411” Fenech has been a name in the FIFA scene for years. He is also known for his impulsive behavior, which has previously resulted in bans.
He received bans in October 2018 and March 2019, each for a few months, with the ban in March being considered the last warning.
Kurt apparently did not take this warning seriously, as he once again made headlines when he had a huge outburst during one of his streams.
Kurt spits on EA logo – “You can’t beat me”
This is the situation: The pro has his outburst when he equalized in the stoppage time of a game. His celebration was a bit different, as instead of being happy, he insulted his opponent: “Bastard! You can’t beat me, not even in this garbage game!”

After that, his hate against EA and FIFA continues. Kurt takes a scarf from EA and spits directly on the logo.
Also offensive on Twitter: The video from his stream was shared by the Twitch streamer DrJarba. He stated that while there is freedom of speech, he despises such behavior.
Kurt also reacted to this and verbally attacked his fellow streamer: “These 50 seconds are better than your entire streaming career.”

How does EA respond to this? The developers of FIFA 20 do not waste any time and ban the streamer from all future tournaments related to FIFA 20. In a statement, they condemn Kurt’s behavior and justify their ban.
What does the streamer say about the ban? Here too, Kurt is unteachable and continues to attack EA. He says on Twitter that he could only circumvent the ban by never streaming again. This was not an option for Kurt. Furthermore, he stands by his opinion, saying that EA should be ashamed of the product they released.
Diablo 3 has often been criticized, and of course, the developers at Blizzard noticed this. Now they revealed which three mistakes they definitely do not want to repeat in Diablo 4.
The third part of the series did not run optimally for Blizzard, and they want to avoid many mistakes in Diablo 4. In an interview with Polygon, Executive Producer Allen Adham, Art Director John Mueller, and Game Director Luis Barriga discussed Diablo 4 and the mistakes they want to prevent.
3 Mistakes that Diablo IV Does Not Want to Make
Bug fixes at release: The release of Diablo 3 was quite chaotic. On the first evening, thousands of players encountered error 37. The servers simply did not cooperate.
This is what Blizzard wants to avoid in Diablo 4. They want to have a nearly bug-free release.
For this, Barriga revealed that they plan to approach things differently than they did with Diablo 3. There, they showed very little content, and the beta was also limited. “I think you’ll see that we are taking a different approach here,” said the Game Director.
During the interview, plans for long-term betas were also mentioned, comparable to the plans for World of Warcraft.
No real-money auction house: Diablo 3 had an auction house at launch, where you could buy and sell equipment for real money or in-game gold. This created a huge market, and various players focused more on trading than on collecting equipment as a reward from battles.
Such an auction house will not exist in Diablo 4. Allen Adham revealed that while there are ways to trade items, this will happen in a limited manner. Therefore, trading will not be completely eliminated; only the auction house will disappear.
A lot of content even after release: Diablo 4 is set to continue bringing new content after the release. Adham stated that the team is being built on that premise.
Diablo 3 only had 2 major expansions that cost money. However, the third part receives free updates every few months.
The developers did not reveal how exactly this will change in Diablo 4. However, it seems that quite a bit of new content will still come to the game even after the release.
When will Diablo 4 be released? There are still no exact dates for that. Blizzard only revealed that it will take some time. Some players therefore suspect a release at the earliest by the end of 2020, but more likely in 2021. However, it is already known that it will be released on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
Blizzard has also revealed some details about the endgame:
In Destiny 2 players can earn titles for their characters and proudly display them in-game for all to see. We explain why Bungie is changing the hunt for titles.
What are titles? Since Forsaken, Guardians can unlock name additions. These titles are prestigious customization options and appear visible to all other Guardians next to your player name.
All titles are tied to hard work and difficult challenges. The following titles can be earned in Destiny 2 since Forsaken:
If you have earned the title, you can acquire the corresponding medal in Bungie’s store
Title Hunters, pay attention
So far: Previously, titles could be earned at any time. It didn’t matter when you started hunting for name additions.
You can still complete all required triumphs of the Dreaming City and call yourself “Cursebreaker”. If you want to tackle the activities around the Black Armory forges, you can proudly be called “Smith” after finishing your work.
The only exception was the title “MMXIX”. This can no longer be earned. It was tied to the Moments of Triumph – this celebrated the second year of Destiny 2.
But besides fresh titles, there is a significant change to the title system. Some titles can now only be obtained in the season to which they relate. For example, only Guardians active in the Season of the Unending may call themselves “Immortal”.
Starting in Year Three, some activities in Destiny 2 will no longer be permanently accessible and will disappear. Seasonal activities (currently the Vex Offensive) and the triumphs therein play an essential role for titles. For example, you must complete the Vex Offensive without dying.
You have until December 10 to secure the current title of Season 8. How to get the name addition “Immortal” and showcase it powerfully, you can read in detail here:
Why the change? Bungie wants Destiny to move more towards a constantly evolving game world. Individual seasons should no longer stand alone. They should connect thematically and create a coherent framework.
We can currently observe the dynamic world, among other places, in the Tower. There Ikora Rey builds a Vex portal each week. When the Warlock lady has completed her construction, Guardians can expect the final stage of the Vex Offensive – the assault on the Immortal Spirit.
Luke Smith (Destiny Franchise Director) once spoke of a Destiny universe where things happen and go somewhere.
Someday, Destiny could become a dynamic world, where the world changes each season. We want playing Destiny to feel like you’re playing in a game world with true momentum, a universe that is going somewhere. A game where things are happening—not just in terms of new items and activities but also in terms of narrative
However, Bungie has not completely ruled out the possibility that popular activities or gear may return to Destiny 2 later.
But currently, Bungie wants to create a sense of “I was there”. This way, even seasonal titles will feel special.
Negatively, one might say that players should feel like they are “missing out” if they do not play a season. This phenomenon is called FOMO: “Fear of missing out” – the fear of missing something.
Service games are often criticized for playing with this fear.
Are you rolling up your sleeves and obtaining seasonal titles? What do you think of the change – does the new exclusivity motivate you or do the titles not matter to you anyway?
In Hearthstone , the first woman won a BlizzCon tournament in 2019. The 23-year-old Chinese player Xiaomeng “VKLiooon” Li was an underdog. She says men doubted her because she is a girl. At the award ceremony as the “Hearthstone Global Finals Champion,” she broke down in tears.
What makes this special: The Chinese woman made history in two ways:
In August, she became the first woman to win a Hearthstone major – Blizzard subsequently introduced her as the “new superstar in China” (via playhearthstone)
Now at BlizzCon 2019, she became the first woman to win the “Hearthstone Global Finals,” making her the best Hearthstone player.
She achieved this as a relatively unknown player. Because China does not focus on Blizzard’s “Grandmaster” program. Therefore, the Chinese woman is not one of the 48 “star players” that Blizzard specifically promotes and who are popular in the eSports scene.
The award ceremony was emotional.
Underdog had to go through extensive qualification
Who is she? The 23-year-old caught attention in early October because she was the first woman to qualify for the “Hearthstone Global Finals.”
She won the “Gold Open Tianjin Master Group,” which is an extensive tournament series in China. This secured her ticket to BlizzCon, where she competed against the best players in the world.
Eight players participated in the finals leading to BlizzCon:
6 of them came from the 48 Grandmasters from Europe, America, and Asia-Pacific, who played two 8-week seasons against each other to determine the 6 best players
The other 2 finalists had to fight their way through qualifying in China – VKLiooon prevailed in a field of 64 “elite players”.

This is what VKLiooon said before the tournament: In an interview with Blizzard, she said in August after her qualification that now she had the chance to make a name for herself worldwide as a representative of China. That would be the best way to show everyone who doubted her just because she is a girl.
Her victory proves that girls can be just as strong professional players as boys.

In the final, she was able to defeat the American Brian “Bloodyface” Eason 3:0.
She played a “Quest Druid” deck with legendary cards like Malygos and Kun. (via hearthpwn)
A guy told her: “You don’t belong here”
This is what she says after the victory: After the victory in Hearthstone, she recounted: Two years ago, she was in line for registration at a major tournament.
A guy told her she shouldn’t stand in line. The line wasn’t for girls.
But now she stands here with the support of the fans. If girls want to compete in eSports, they should just do it.
Who is VKLiooon? VKLiooon comes from a small town in northwestern China. Her parents divorced when she was 9. After that, she lived with her mother, a teacher. She studies political science and law in China. At university, she fell in love with Hearthstone.
She describes herself as a hard worker who plays a lot of ladder and simulates every possible scenario in advance.
Most of the time, she plays against her boyfriend, a Chinese professional at Invictus Gaming. She considers him the best player in China. Well, but she said that in August – probably the relationship hierarchy has now changed with her victory in the World Championship.
In recent months, Grandmasters in Hearthstone haven’t always been in the spotlight.
The first major paid live event “A Colossal Discovery” from Pokémon GO is over, but the reviews haven’t been very good. What are the complaints?
This was the live event: This Saturday, the event “A Colossal Discovery” around Regigigas took place in Pokémon GO. If you paid €8.99, you got access to the event – those who didn’t want to pay had to stay outside.
What do the reviews say? On reddit, one opinion has gained significant support. There, the trainer “TheCrumpler” said about the event: “A Colossal Discovery was a Panzaeron research day behind a paywall.”
So the trainer explains that it felt exactly like limited research, like the events where players had to solve many field research tasks, like with Perlu or Barschwa.
At the end, the trainer asked if this was the new format for limited researches.
Almost 2500 agreed. Reddit users wrote hundreds of comments and discussed the topic. Many shared the same opinion: They also focused on Panzaeron during their live event. The Regis were more of a sideshow and important for completing the quests.
However, there are also voices against it. Players report that they focused more on Regi Raids and did not engage much with the field researches. They wanted to have the Regi Trio as Shiny.
Is this criticism justified? It must definitely be noted that the field researches around Panzaeron were only available if one had purchased the event ticket.
In about 90% of the quests, Panzaeron was the reward.
Those who didn’t have a ticket had no chance of getting Panzaeron in any quest and had to hope for spawns in the wild, which were quite rare.
For many, it wasn’t the Regis that were interesting, but Shiny Panzaeron
Those who wanted to catch a Shiny Panzaeron had to complete several quests. This was indeed comparable to limited researches, where one also had to solve many quests.
Nevertheless, it must be reiterated that the €8.99 did not bring this version of a “limited research”.
Moreover, buyers received 10 Raid Passes, which were quickly used up. Niantic increased the raids so that buyers could raid a lot.
Thus, not only the special quests were the focus of the live event, but also the many raids.
What do you think of the criticisms? Can you relate to it, or did you not feel the same about the day?
There was trouble over a post that appeared on an Asian social network regarding Hearthstone . A Blizzard account stated that they wanted to protect the pride of China. Now, Blizzard clarifies on the sidelines of BlizzCon 2019 who authored this post in the course of the “Hong Kong” affair.
This is the background: On October 6, a Hearthstone grandmaster made a political statement during a Blizzard stream, calling for “freedom for Hong Kong, the revolution of our era.”
Blizzard banned the grandmaster for a year, removed him from the grandmaster program, and revoked his prize money for the ongoing season. Additionally, Blizzard ended their collaboration with the two casters who were present during the incident but did not intervene. They would never work with them again.
This was Blizzard’s reaction in the West: In response to this ban and the protests, Blizzard issued a statement on the official Blizzard website.
The head of Blizzard, J. Allen Brack, emphasized the global values of Blizzard and justified the ban.
However, he was conciliatory. They acted too quickly and made mistakes.
The Blizzard head conceded: The punishment for the Hearthstone grandmaster was reduced. He was given the opportunity to play Hearthstone professionally again after 6 months. The punishment for the casters was lowered from “We will no longer work with them” to “6 months suspension.”
This is Blitzchung, who sparked the incident with his statement.
Blizzard “defends” China’s pride in the East
This is what happened in China: However, a post appeared on “Weibo” in China. It is one of the largest Chinese social networks. This was also an official posting by Blizzard, but with a different tone.
Here it stated that they were angry and disappointed about the incidents at the event. They would always respect and defend the pride of the country, meaning China.
The post was sharply criticized in the West. (source: reddit)
This is how the post was received: Here in the West, a translation of the post was poorly received (via reddit).
Because it sounded like Blizzard was sending two messages to two different countries.
With Blizzard’s values of “Think globally”, such a national perspective was not compatible. This was also criticized by Cortyn on MeinMMO.
There were some protests from Blizzard fans in the course of the affair.
This is what Blizzard says now: In a conversation with PCGamer , Blizzard’s head, J. Allen Brack, now clarifies:
NetEase is not a government agency but a company and a publisher.
Blizzard is legally not allowed to use the channels of “Blizzard Weibo” – they are not allowed to “contribute anything” here.
Ultimately, it is NetEase’s decision what is posted there. They are the publisher in China.
The statement “they defend the pride of China” was not authorized or approved by Blizzard. They would not have approved it even if they had been asked.
Brack makes it clear: Blizzard had nothing to do with this specific post. They were not asked for permission.
“Acted too quickly” – our mistake
This is now the situation: Brack, however, takes part of the responsibility. NetEase was in contact regarding various issues related to this incident.
The decision for the ban was ultimately made by Blizzard Taiwan, Hearthstone management, the eSports team, and NetEase.
They acted too quickly here. That was the mistake when the groups came together and decided very quickly how to react.
However, despite the apology, Blizzard will not lift the ban against the two casters. It was their job to ensure that a Blizzard broadcast stayed on topic.
They have already reduced the punishment against the casters from “We will never work with them again” to a “6-month suspension.” Blizzard will apparently not go any lower.
Brack emphasizes that the ban was not about the content of Blitzchung’s political comment, but purely about the fact that he did not talk about the game, in this case, Hearthstone.
They believe in freedom of expression – but the official broadcasts should only revolve around the games.
While all eyes are on the Blizzcon for Diablo 4 , the mobile spin-off Diablo Immortal is quietly receiving a major info update. It’s packed full of new content regarding zones, classes, and events. But hardly anyone will have noticed.
New Content for Diablo Immortal for the BlizzCon Demo 2019
This is the new class: The Demon Hunter joins as the newest class. In the presentation of Diablo Immortal it was already announced, but is only now playable in the demo.
In the trailer, it is mainly seen with the iconic crossbows. It takes down opponents in droves, acrobatically jumping over them or peppering them with bolts.
Demon Hunters use ranged weapons and rely on Agility. They are a particularly mobile and agile class.
These new zones and events are available: Diablo Immortal will be expanded with the update to include four new zones:
Wortham, a misty town on the riverbank
Darkwood, a grim forest full of bloody rituals
Mount Tamo, an almost idyllic place, but where the undead await
Ashwold Cemetery, a grim graveyard full of graves and skeletons
The Church of Wortham.
The new world event is called “Ghost Wagon”. What exactly your task will be there, we do not yet know. It looks like you will need to either escort and protect a ghostly wagon or stop and destroy it.
These are the new items and abilities: Additionally, some classes will receive new legendary items that enhance their abilities.
Gluthass for the Demon Hunter swaps the arrows of the Barrage with grenades
Winterreue for the Sorceress turns the fireball into a frost ball that freezes and pushes enemies away
Inna’s Hand enhances the Exploding Hand
Stormbringer for the Barbarian summons a mighty hammer
In addition, the classes will receive new powerful abilities called “Ultimates”. These are charged with normal attacks and then unleashed to devastate enemies with spectacular attacks.
New Update – Hardly Anyone Notices
Why has hardly anyone noticed? The English video for the update has only been viewed by 183,701 people, while the German video has been viewed by 2,578 people (November 3 at 3:30 AM).
This is significantly less than, for example, the gameplay of Diablo 4 (English: 2.8 million, German: 94,702).
So far, it has only been stated that a certain quality needs to be achieved before Diablo Immortal is released. In the meantime, you can register for tests on the official website. However, Blizzard has not yet revealed an official release date.
This is an AI-powered translation. Some inaccuracies might exist.
Demons Hunters and Death Knights in World of Warcraft will soon have to return to the “Children’s Paradise”. Because they start their journey in WoW at level 8.
Update: Originally, we assumed that Death Knights and Demon Hunters would start at level 1. However, in the current Alpha of Shadowlands, they start at level 8. This may still change before release.
What exactly was said? During the “Deep Dive” panel on World of Warcraft, the developers went into more detail about the new leveling experience that is supposed to start with Shadowlands. Players will have an “introductory experience” from level 1-10 and can then quest between level 10 and 50 in expansions of their choice. For levels 50 to 60, the areas of Shadowlands will come into play. It was also mentioned that Death Knights and Demon Hunters will soon start at level 1 in their zones, which has now been changed to level 8.
There he looks stupid – his Death Knights will soon start at level 8.
Is it really that much more effort? Probably not. Blizzard is accelerating the leveling speed from level 1 to 50 by 60%-70%. It should be possible to level from level 10 to level 50 in a single expansion. This currently corresponds to the amount of experience points that Demon Hunters would need to gather in “Legion” without heirloom gear. For Death Knights, the end result might even be a bit faster.
Nevertheless, it will probably feel strange to start at level 8 as a “hero class”.
Hero classes at level 8 – well then!
Why is Blizzard doing this? There has not yet been a precise explanation as to why Death Knights and Demon Hunters will have to start from the beginning.
One reason could be that the two classes are also to be integrated into the new leveling experience. So far, Death Knights and Demon Hunters have had most of their abilities available right from the start or after a short questline. Now it could be that abilities and talents – like all other classes – will be distributed over the first 50 levels.
What do you think about this change? Is it good and sensible for Demon Hunters to have a longer leveling experience? Or is it annoying and just disruptive?
BlizzCon 2019 revealed new information about Sylvanas’ plans in World of Warcraft. She has apparently been planning for a very, very long time.
At BlizzCon 2019, the recent “Q&A” panel for World of Warcraft took place. Some fans had the opportunity to ask their questions and learn more about the systems or lore of World of Warcraft. One question revealed particularly exciting information, as it provided more details on Sylvanas’ plans in Shadowlands. Apparently, she had always planned to become Warchief and was actively supported in this.
What was said? There were some questions about Sylvanas, one of which even traced back to Legion. One questioner wanted to know why Sylvanas collaborated with Varian Wrynn in the cinematic from “Legion”. At that time, she helped him fight against a hellish beast and other demons, even though Varian could have died in the process.
Sylvanas in the Legion cinematic.
The developers’ response was that Sylvanas wanted to have a good reputation with her allies back then. She needed the support and goodwill of the other races so that her plans could develop. She wanted to ensure that she would be in a good position to become Warchief.
What about Vol’jin? This information also sheds new light on Vol’jin, who appointed Sylvanas as Warchief, which the other leaders of the Horde accepted. So far, it has never been clarified who exactly whispered this to Vol’jin. Vol’jin himself thought it was the spirits. Even though the developers do not provide a definitive answer, it now seems plausible that it was the “Jailer” who did so. He is allied with Sylvanas and lends her his power.
Vol’jin made Sylvanas Warchief – and nobody knew why he did it.
Who is the Jailer? The Jailer is one of the rulers of a realm in the Shadowlands. He rules over “the Maw”, where only the most evil souls are banished, whom can never be redeemed. However, for several years, all souls have been sent directly into the Maw. This includes all victims from the Fourth War – all the dead from Teldrassil and the war campaign.
All those souls and their Anima have led to the Maw growing and the Jailer gaining more power. He has passed on some of his power to Sylvanas, which is how she received her new abilities.
The mysterious “Jailer” – Sylvanas gains power through him.
When did Sylvanas and the Jailer come into contact? Another question was answered regarding the meeting between the Jailer and Sylvanas. This took place many years ago, after Arthas was defeated as the Lich King. When Sylvanas jumped from Icecrown to die and encountered her Val’kyr, she also made contact with the Jailer for the first time.
We will probably only learn more detailed information about this when we can actually play Shadowlands. But it remains exciting.
During the panel on “Systems & Features” of Diablo IV, the developers also talked about dungeons and endgame content of the game. They explained in detail how you will find new challenges at maximum level.
What are dungeons? Dungeons are the contrast to the open world of Diablo 4. Here you will find plenty of enemies, events, and great loot. There will be “indoor dungeons” (caves, buildings) and “outdoor dungeons” (open areas).
As in the predecessors, dungeons in Diablo 4 will also be randomly generated. It will even happen that different areas mix – a cave might suddenly transition directly into a forest.
Dungeons in Diablo 4
These are the features: According to lead dungeon designer Zaven Haroutunian, dungeons in Diablo 4 will have two different types of content that primarily define the dungeon experience:
What are dungeon events? The events are similar to events in the dungeons of Diablo 3. They appear at random locations and require the player to complete certain tasks, often in a limited time.
However, new is that the dungeon events in Diablo 4 are no longer tied to a specific location. Various events can appear in each dungeon.
What are dungeon tasks? The dungeon tasks are quests that you are to complete while mastering a dungeon. You are supposed to kill all enemies or specific enemies, similar to the bounties in the adventure mode of Diablo 3.
As you progress through the tasks, the danger level as well as the potential reward of the dungeon gradually increases.
This leads to more and more enemies and elite enemies appearing, constantly challenging you.
Endgame Dungeons in Diablo 4
What are endgame dungeons? In Diablo 4, you can transform any dungeon in the game into an endgame dungeon using a key.
The keys are new items that can be found in the world. They are intended for a specific dungeon and grant it a new difficulty and even special affixes.
This is how the keys and dungeons work: Due to the affixes, the endgame dungeons provide special challenges that you can specifically prepare for.
With the items, skill trees and rune words, you can create specific builds to master that next dungeon. In order to ensure sufficient variety, “hundreds” of dungeons are planned, all of which can become an endgame dungeon.
Diablo 4 was announced with the feature of a “shared Open World.” We explain what that exactly means.
Update: After the “Systems & Features” panel for Diablo 4, there is new information about the open world system. We have marked them with (NEW) in this article.
What does “Open World” mean? One of the major changes of Diablo 4 is the open world. “Open world” means that you can choose at any time which activities in which areas you want to do.
There are no fixed routes anymore and no linear campaign that guides you through the game in a specific order. You decide for yourself which area you visit and complete at what time.
(NEW) The individual areas flow seamlessly into one another. This means that when you are in a dungeon, the individual levels of the dungeon and also areas of the outside world are no longer separated by loading screens.
What does “shared” mean? The open world of Diablo 4 is also “shared” – with other players. You will frequently encounter other players on your journeys. You can already get a first impression of the Diablo 4 gameplay through streamers and the gameplay trailer embedded below.

This is how the system works: Diablo 4 encourages you to interact with other players through various features. Several possibilities have already been mentioned:
at public events that you participate in with other players in the open world
during PvP in specific zones to fight other players
in cities that serve as a “social hub”
The cities hold a special position because you can team up with other players here, inspect their equipment and builds, and trade with them.
Bosses as World Events: Public events also include world bosses that must be fought by many players at the same time. The bosses appear with a timer and an announcement.
Players can group up and gather to defeat the boss and collect their rewards.
Solo or MMO? How cooperation works in Diablo 4
(NEW) How many players play simultaneously? The number of players in your game or area is supposed to depend on where you are located. Some areas are supposed to be denser with players than others.
You should usually be alone most of the time to create a sense of danger.
In a preview report by Gamestar, colleague Maurice Weber mentioned that he participated in a boss fight in a public event with 12 other people.
A public event.
(NEW) Can I play alone? Nevertheless, it should be possible to play Diablo 4 solo. In the Diablo panel at BlizzCon 2019, the developers confirmed that players could complete Diablo 4 “completely alone” without necessarily participating in social activities.
The entire campaign as well as dungeons are “private” content, which means they can only be completed solo or in groups of up to four players. All endgame content and the best loot are available both alone and in a group.
Diablo 4 is always
online
Is there an offline option? In an interview with PCGamer, lead designer Joe Shely stated that there is a “large, seamless, connected, and shared space in the world” in Diablo 4, which is best explored online.
So Diablo 4 will apparently not have an offline mode. You will always play online.
Here’s the problem: Players are already anticipating the issues that Diablo 3 had at launch. “Error 37” prevented many players from playing Diablo 3 for days after its release.
Whether Diablo 4 will face the same issues remains to be seen. However, only in the distant future:
This is an AI-powered translation. Some inaccuracies might exist.
Leveling in World of Warcraft will be faster soon. The cuts will be drastic, and the time to reach the maximum level will be much shorter.
The BlizzCon 2019 is in full swing and there is some new information about the upcoming WoW expansion Shadowlands. In the “Deep Dive” panel, the developers talked about the future of leveling in Azeroth and addressed a lot of points. Especially the level duration to the maximum level – currently still 120, soon to be reduced to 50 – will proceed much faster.
What was said? Blizzard revealed how leveling in World of Warcraft is to be overhauled. In addition to the “Level Squish,” where players are set from level 120 to level 50, the overall leveling speed is also expected to be drastically increased. The developers plan to significantly reduce the duration of leveling. They mentioned a 60-70% faster leveling phase up to level 50. This way, all players can quickly reach the endgame and the current expansion.
The major goals for leveling.
New starting area up to level 10: WoW will also receive a new zone for fresh characters. “Exile’s Reach” is a new island where players will start with their first character. Those who have been playing WoW for longer can also go to the normal starting areas.
The advantage is that they want to give completely new players an engaging entry experience that meets the current standards. Moreover, all races can start here – if you play a blood elf, but your friend plays an orc, you can begin together in Exile’s Reach.
Chromie is supposedly even helping to put the whole world into a kind of “time wandering.” So if someone wants to play only missions from “Legion,” they will see Sylvanas as the current Warchief in Orgrimmar and can only accept quests related to Legion. However, this can also be deactivated upon request. This is meant to help players not get confused with different timelines.
By the way, completing a single expansion should be enough to level from level 10 to 50.
What do you think of this news? Do you think it’s good that leveling is being drastically accelerated? Or is it totally awful and just ruins the game even more?
In the League of Legends, G2 Esports is the best team in Europe. One of their secrets is that they have brought together two former rivals. In fact, Perkz and Caps played the same position and would have had to compete against each other for years for the crown in Europe.
What is special about G2 Esports: The strange thing about G2 Esports is that they now actually play with 2 mid laners who were rivals for several years and had the same position.
The Dane Rasmus “Caps” Borregaard Winther (19) was the mid laner of Fnatic from 2016 to 2018, the toughest competitor of G2 Esports
However, there is actually no room for two mid laners in a LoL team. It’s like having two playmakers in a soccer team.
Faker is the epitome of a mid laner and the most legendary player in LoL.
What is so special about the mid laner? The mid lane is the “most prestigious” position in LoL. Here, the stars of their teams often play. They collect a particularly high number of kills or decide matches. They often play aggressive mages or assassins. Those are the plays that are later compiled into clips and admired on YouTube.
Some of the biggest stars and leaders of their teams have been or are mid laners:
The legendary Faker is considered the best player to ever play LoL. He is a mid laner
The most famous player in the West, Bjergsen, also resides in the mid lane
This is Bjergsen, probably the “biggest name” in US LoL, a mid laner.
Caps and Perkz – 2 Rivals
This is the backstory: Since 2013, Fnatic has won a split in Europe 7 times – G2 Esports has won the split 6 times in the first half of the season. Only one other team has been able to win a split at all. Fnatic and G2 Esports are clearly the two dominant teams in European LoL
Caps and Perkz have been among the dominant players in Europe in recent years. They were declared rivals, natural opponents.
Both wanted to be stronger than the other because the other was clearly the competition and stood in the way of their own hunger for success.
The rivalry drove both to peak performances, as they explain in the video “Duos” on YouTube.
This is Perkz, now the retrained ADC of G2 Esports.
Perkz Gives Up Position for International Success
What happened then? As Caps describes in a video, G2 Esports approached him in the 2018 off-season to see if he would switch to them. He didn’t see it as an option at all because Perkz, his rival, was already playing there. For Caps, Perkz was clearly the face of G2 Esports.
But the Croatian had set his mind on teaming up with Caps to become stronger as a team instead of constantly fighting against him. Perkz wanted to win on an international level so badly that he saw Caps as the only option to become even stronger.
When Perkz then thought about how he could make that happen, the path was clear: Perkz would switch to the bot lane to make room for Caps in the mid lane at G2 Esports.
Such a “role swap” is relatively rare among professional LoL players.
Perkz says it was something he just suggested, and once it was said, everyone realized: Yes, we have to do that.

This is what G2 Esports’ CEO says: G2 Esports owner Carlos “ocelote” Rodriguez cannot praise Perkz’s move enough: It is completely crazy to give up the position that made one great, thereby also giving up the star power. After all, the mid laner is considered the focal point and star of a team.
Perkz also said he would have only vacated the mid lane for two players worldwide: For Faker and for Caps.
Ocelote (29) – the Spaniard was also a mid laner before, now he is team manager.
According to Ocelote, it is now like having Messi and Ronaldo on the same team:
Caps is the ultra-talented, easy-going genius who has a lot of luck
Perkz is the meticulous worker who trains hard
Ocelote says: When they used to play against Caps, he was always terribly annoying. Perkz did well and was often well fed, but Caps would always roam the map, collecting kills and causing trouble.
And it was so annoying, Caps really got on their nerves.
Now Ocelote is happy to have him on his own team so he can annoy the opponents.
Star Player Puts Ego Aside
This is what Perkz says: According to Perkz, he made the conscious decision to dial down his ego a bit to give his team a better chance to win internationally.
In the past, he always felt he was the main reason why G2 Esports won. That is no longer the case.
He had to ask himself: “Do I want to be the carry or do I want to win?” And he made his choice.
What lies behind it: This is of course a nice story that G2 Esports tells in an advertisement.
However, it must be said that G2 Esports is not only excellently staffed at 2 positions, but at all 5.
Jankos, Wunder, and support Mikyx are top players who are crucial for the success of their team.
However, the fact that Perkz has made so many sacrifices to make room for Caps is quite extraordinary. On Sunday, G2 Esports plays in the semifinals of the LoL Worlds 2019 against SKT1 and Faker. We will see if the “Messi and Ronaldo of LoL” can really harmonize and dominate as a team.
In Fortnite the Nightmare Event is currently running: the Fortnitemares 2019. It’s getting spooky on the map and everyone is in Halloween mood. Our author Eilyn particularly recommends this Fortnitemares event.
I really enjoy the Halloween season and look forward to celebrating this time in Fortnite every year. This year, the Fortnitemares event is particularly well designed. I was totally excited by the Fortnitemares.
1. The limited mode: Storm King
The mode is a highlight: The mode is pretty cool. You are right in the battle bus and the eerie music begins. Then all players hurry to loot quickly and get to the center to reach the Storm King.
To defeat the Storm King, you need a lot of team spirit. It’s great to see everyone working together to win. So far, I have only had good experiences and have always been revived when I was down.
This mode is recommended for all players who want to have a coop experience: Because in Battle Royale, where everyone usually plays against each other, here you must cooperate to defeat a final boss.
It’s not that easy to defeat the Storm King, but when you succeed, you feel a bit of pride. I was certainly happy when I finally won on the third try.
2. The Nightmare Challenges
The Nightmare Challenges were good: I found the Nightmare Challenges quite easy to solve. You could complete the Storm King missions alongside during the game. It didn’t take much effort, and you can unlock cool free rewards.
The remaining challenges were quite easy to solve, once you knew where these items were located.
The only challenge that annoys me a bit is the one with the hiding spot, as it is time-consuming. You are supposed to hide somewhere on the map and then jump out when a player is 20 meters near the hiding spot.
I had to wait a long time until someone came by.
This is the Ghost Town where you have to search a chest
The idea with the Cursed Challenges is well planned: Epic has a good idea with the challenges. It’s supposed to encourage players to visit the creative mode, which they probably wouldn’t use otherwise.
The created community games are creepy and creatively designed. I would recommend everyone to try such a game. Especially the “Mansion of Power” games were really fun for me.
In the “Mansion of Power”, the whole map is foggy, and you cannot see very far. You then have to try to eliminate the other players. Up to 16 players can participate in the same match.
This brings variety to the Fortnite routine – just as events should.
3. The overall mood on the map
This year the map was better redesigned: For every Fortnitemares, the map is spooky redesigned. You can find Halloween decorations everywhere that are quite well done. Personally, I like that because I am a big Halloween fan.
What I particularly appreciate this year is that the monsters are not spread all over the map. Last year, it was tedious to be disturbed by monsters in the middle of a battle.
Now they are not so ubiquitous on the map anymore.
If you do want to fight these monsters, you can wreak havoc in the middle of the map. That’s where the monsters are now.
And sometimes they really scare you when they burst out of a car.
4. My personal highlight: the Halloween skins
The Halloween skins are worth it this year: Epic has put a lot of effort into the Halloween skins this year. We had a new skin to choose from almost every day.
There were so many different ones that there is sure to be something for every skin lover. Moreover, more Halloween skins are supposed to come. If you are a skin collector or simply a Halloween fan, you will surely find something to your taste.
The selection in 2019 is really great; there are creepy things but also funny outfits. Just as in real life, there are different costumes.
I must admit that I happily indulged and scored several skins.
In the gallery you will see some Halloween skins that were already available in the item shop:
