In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, there is currently an annoying bug. It causes players to receive 0 experience points. Now the developers from Infinity Ward have spoken out about the XP bug.
What bug is it? Since December 25th, a bug has been affecting Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. This bug causes some players to stop making progress. It particularly affects experience points, from which players receive exactly 0 after the round.
This also impacts weapon camos and the battle pass level of Season 1.
Why is the bug doubly annoying? As if that weren’t enough, there is currently an event in CoD. This should provide players with double experience points with the new patch. However, double 0 is still 0. The boost runs until this evening at 7 PM, and a solution to the problem is not in sight.
This makes the bug tricky: However, reports about the bug are not uniform. The bug apparently occurs sporadically and cannot be clearly replicated: Some say it is a display error that resolved itself later – players then received the experience points after all.
Some are completely unaffected, while others are constantly haunted by it.
The developers speak out
Now the team from Call of Duty has become aware of the bug. Yesterday, Ashton Williams, Senior Communications Manager, spoke out on Reddit. She asked players for more information:
The team is “fishing around” to find the error.
It seems that Infinity Ward has no approach to why this bug occurs. Therefore, Williams asks players for their support.
They should post their gamer tag or PlayStation ID if they are affected.
This is what the community says: Some players are annoyed by the bug:
I feel the same way. Playing makes no sense when you receive no experience or weapon camos.
Until the error is fixed, players will have to hope they are not affected by the bug. A further reaction from the developers remains to be seen. Now, during the “in-between time of the year”, it is to be expected that communication between players and developers will only occur sporadically.
Corepunk is a new MMORPG that resembles League of Legends. It aims to provide content for both PvP and PvE players. There are now two minutes of gameplay available.
What is Corepunk? The game is a new PC MMORPG that utilizes a top-down perspective. It takes place in a post-apocalyptic setting, which the developers describe as “a mix of cyberpunk and dark fantasy.”
The game is reminiscent of League of Legends due to its colorful comic graphics and core features like hero classes and fog of war, but it offers far more content, including PvE dungeons and raids.
You can watch the announcement trailer with gameplay footage here:

What’s new about Corepunk? In a new video, the developers of the MMORPG discussed the running and attack speed in the game.
The producer of Corepunk, Eugene Kiver, demonstrates how equipping artifacts affects speed in the game. Artifacts are extremely important and have an impact on your stat values.
Though the base running speed in Corepunk may be quite slow, it doesn’t always remain so. In the video, Kiver equips his character with new artifacts that grant +20% running speed and +25% attack speed. This changes the feel of the game, even if it doesn’t help the producer to overpower the horde of enemies.

What features will Corepunk have? In the announcement trailer, the MMORPG boasts several features that set it apart from other games.
Primarily, it includes a seamless open world, which is obscured by the fog of war that most of you will know from MOBAs like League of Legends. It limits your visibility on the map.
This gives the open-world PvP of Corepunk more strategic depth. You can use the fog, for example, to sneak up on opposing players unnoticed.
The MMORPG will initially feature 12 different heroes, each with their own skills and specializations. For these heroes, you will then be able to choose different talents on the skill trees of the available classes to adapt to your play style. Classes include, for example:
Warrior
Mage
Assassin
Hunter
Support
Medic
The equipment in Corepunk has no stat values and won’t provide advantages in combat. It is purely cosmetic. However, there are artifacts. They come into special slots on your interface and provide typical stat boosts like more HP and more strength, as demonstrated in the trailer above.
This includes unique abilities, such as absorbing a portion of the damage taken. Additional features are:
How does PvP work in Corepunk? The PvP in the open world of Corepunk will not be unrestricted. Players will have the option to toggle it on and off as they wish.
However, those who opt for open PvP can look forward to honor and karma systems. If you take down an opposing player, you will receive honor points. These can later be exchanged for stronger artifacts.
You will also receive karma points. They are based on the level and armor difference between you and the player you took out. Too many karma points lead to you becoming a player killer and henceforth being regarded as a “criminal.”
Criminals are not allowed to enter cities and as a penalty, lose one of the artifacts from their equipment upon death. This system is intended to prevent “ganking,” or the unjustified killing of low-level players.
Even a small level difference can result in being marked as a criminal.
What business model will Corepunk have? There is no information yet on how Corepunk will be financed. The official site states that an announcement will follow soon.
The developers stated on the official website that they are “principally against pay-to-win.” A cosmetics shop would therefore be a reasonable assumption.
When is Corepunk being released? A release date for the MMORPG is not yet set. An open beta test is planned for the end of 2020. Before that, at least one closed beta will take place.
You can register for this on the official Corepunk website. However, there is no date for this yet.
Professional player Tyler “Ninja” Blevins explains why controllers on PC in Fortnite are so strong and why he suspects that Epic will soon nerf the aim assist.
What is it about? A major topic in the Fortnite community is the debate between controller and keyboard/mouse on PC. Many believe the aim assist on controllers is too strong and controller players have an advantage: They argue that anyone wanting to play Fortnite with a controller should play on PS4 or Xbox One and not on PC.
PC professional players now seem to be switching to controllers because they are said to be so strong. Professional player TSM Myth has formally joined the “Controller” army with an epic speech.
Ninja explains why controllers on PC are so strong
Professional player Tyler “Ninja” Blevins was asked in a stream when he would switch to a controller. To this question, he replied with a clear: “Never! I can’t hold them properly anymore.”
Ninja has experience with controllers. After all, he started his eSports career with Halo, a game that could only be played on Xbox.
He then said that he observed the Twitch streamer Myth when he played on PC with a controller. Ninja found the aim assist way too strong. He stated: “It’s much easier to aim with the thumb.”
PC players with controllers have a clear advantage
Why does Ninja think controller players have an advantage? Ninja believes the problem is the FPS, which are significantly higher on PC.
By combining the high FPS of a PC with the aim assist that a controller provides, the advantage in Fortnite is too strong:
“When you play on Xbox or Playstation, you’re stuck at 60 FPS. Controllers are absolutely terrible to play on Xbox and Playstation compared to PC. It’s a difference like night and day.”
Ninja – In his stream
The video shows players who have switched to the controller and are then amused by the aim assist. Ninja explains in the video what the problem with controllers on PC is:

Ninja now suspects a nerf, as so many PC players are switching to controllers. This would indicate the seriousness of the issue if so many are switching.
“It will probably come to a point where Epic will need to nerf controllers on PC. If everyone is switching to controllers, that’s a clear sign that controllers are a bit too strong. I think there will be a nerf, probably in the next 1-2 months.”
Statement from Ninja in his stream
What do you think? Is there a problem with controllers on PC?
For Destiny 2 2019 was a strange third year, a transitional year. The online shooter seemed to be developed at only half strength. How did 2019 go for Bungie and where is the journey heading in 2020? Can players even expect an announcement for Destiny 3?
This was the crucial change in 2019: The last year began with a bang for Destiny fans: In January 2019, Bungie and Activision announced that they were parting ways. From now on, Bungie would continue to develop the Destiny brand and the game Destiny 2 on its own:
Bungie now had full control over the Destiny brand
But also lost the support of Activision in publishing and the two “support studios” responsible for the PC port and parts of the critically acclaimed Forsaken campaign
Luke Smith (left) and Mark Noseworthy (right). This was the image of the “new era” Destiny 2
In June 2019, Bungie declared “the new era of Destiny”
Players really felt the impact of this decision only five months later. When Destiny 2 Shadowkeep was presented in June 2019, the two leaders of Destiny, Luke Smith and Mark Noseworthy announced that a new era for Destiny 2 is starting:
Destiny 2 was now regarded as an “MMO” and would be treated as such – mechanics like “Armor 2.0” or artifacts were supposed to lead to more gameplay depth
Josh Hamrick (left), always wearing a hat – the new era of Bungie begins without him.
Seasons instead of DLCs shape the face of Destiny
How has this affected the game? In the last 6 months, the effects of this supposedly groundbreaking decision have been little felt. An older decision from year 2 still dominates the game experience: Bungie has shifted from two paid €15 expansions per year to 3 seasons at €10 each:
The expansions no longer come on one day and unlock all new content at once
But the content comes gradually over months. Events and smaller actions are more important than before. Content is “time-locked” and will be unlocked at a specific time
The roadmap for Season 8 shows how fragmented the content is spread over weeks.
The shift in philosophy towards an “MMO” has led to a significant increase in the “grind component” in Destiny 2. Many of the more important tasks require players to spend quite some time.
This is the criticism of the new era of Destiny 2: The criticism is consistent that players want more “real new content”. Much of what comes new to Destiny 2 ultimately consists of recycled parts and grind-heavy gameplay mechanics:
The content is perceived as “stretched”
It is criticized that seasonal activities disappear or become irrelevant
The same patterns of group activities repeat from season to season.
The Menagerie was considered a highlight in Destiny 2 – but similar activities wear out.
There were indeed highlights in 2019: The expansion “Shadowkeep” was seen by fans as “okay to good” without reaching the scale and significance of the 2018 expansion “Forsaken”: The majority of mein MMO readers rated Shadowkeep positively in the range of 8 out of 10 points.
The new Season 9 featuring the lost Guardian, Saint-14, is also well received.
Where is Destiny 2 currently at? 2019 was a transitional year, behind the scenes of Destiny 2 certainly more happened than in front of the scenes:
It can be assumed that much of Bungie’s actual development work this year was not visible, but at best flowed into parts of Destiny that will only be seen in 2020 with a supposed Destiny 3 – some fans fear that the work may have gone into “non-Destiny” titles
Destiny is trying to appeal to new players but is aging
This is why the situation is difficult: Destiny, as a franchise, is now 5 years old. This brings a certain fatigue: It becomes less attractive for new players to enter a developed universe.
The interim year 2019 has done little to enhance the franchise’s reputation or make Destiny more attractive to new players.
At the moment, Bungie is indeed trying to reach new players through New Light or Stadia – but generates less headlines and attention from new content than before.
Destiny 2 was still well-presented in the media in 2019, but there is much more competition than before: Titles like Fortnite, Apex Legends, CoD Modern Warfare, or Borderlands 3 were all more present in 2019 than Destiny 2.
While Destiny previously dominated media coverage in some months, this is no longer the case: Destiny 2 is a game among many titles competing for gamers’ attention.
In 2019, Destiny was according to ICO Partners, the 7th most covered game. Source: Gamesindustry
Destiny is becoming “more beginner-friendly”, but at the same time is becoming less attractive for beginners as it ages.
In 2019, Bungie apparently had to invest a lot of energy due to the departure of Activision to maintain the current status and set itself up better for the future. As a result, day-to-day business has suffered: Little remains of the momentum from the announcement of the new era. The last stream about Season 9 seemed like it did during Activision’s times.
Destiny 2 is now better able to keep existing players engaged with little effort compared to before, but this limits its impact externally.
It needs gameplay highlights and real new content to keep the fire burning.
Under the current circumstances, Bungie did a good job in 2019 of further developing the Destiny brand – however, it was also a wasted year in terms of advancing the game to the next level.
The decision to adopt a season pass model feels outdated in 2019 – hardly any game does that anymore.
The existing direction has been refined: this helps only to retain active players and does nothing to attract new players or bring back old ones. This works better with highlight content, like a new game or big expansions – with detail improvements and drip-feed content throughout the seasons, this will not work.
The problem is: Once Bungie announces a Destiny 3, some players will not want to invest money in Destiny 2 anymore, among other things due to the catastrophic decision that players could not carry any purchases from Destiny 1 over to Destiny 2.
This strange situation seems to prevent Bungie from saying exactly when the next major “event” will come for at least half a year.
This uncertainty makes Destiny 2 seem like a game being developed at a reduced pace and with half strength before 2020 – just like in 2019. It is progressing, but not with the strength and energy that fans of such a large studio expect.
By feeding players piecemeal with a season, players are kept engaged, but they do not get truly satisfied.
In May or June 2020, we will probably find out what the next real steps for Destiny 2 in the then 6th year of the franchise will be. Then it will become clear whether Bungie manages to regain momentum after a few years of slow development.

The Volta mode was introduced as the most important new feature for FIFA 20. Much of the marketing showed the street mode and presented it as the next big thing. But how well did the experiment work?
This is Volta: Volta brings football back to the streets – this is the best way to summarize the intention of the mode. In small teams, you can play a round of street football or futsal. The twist: It’s more skillful than a regular FIFA match. Skills take center stage – a bit like in the earlier FIFA Street titles.
In Volta, it’s all about the streets
However, Volta appeared a bit more grounded than the old street titles did. The gameplay is more realistic and feels a bit like FIFA 20 on a small field – with a few more tricks. The question that arises, however, is: Did fans of the game actually want such a mode?
How is Volta doing 3 months after release?
This is what players wished for: First, it should be noted that a street mode has been long on the wish list of FIFA players. The original street series was popular, and many hoped that the old gameplay mechanics would find their way back into a main FIFA title. In that respect, Volta certainly satisfies a wish that players had.
When the first material for Volta surfaced, the excitement was also great. The new mode looked neat – and it seemed like there was also a sophisticated online system. Hope arose that Volta could be played similarly to Pro Clubs. This means: Many players wished to form a club with friends and then climb the Volta leaderboard together. However, this feature is not provided by Volta – and perhaps that’s why it’s only treated marginally by players.
Playing together is not a big factor in Volta
This is what Volta lacks: Not only is the desired Pro Clubs component and thus some kind of co-op mode missing, but you also cannot play online against friends. In the league online mode, you only play against strangers, and otherwise, Volta only offers offline modes. A missed opportunity – instead of playing fun Volta matches with friends online, you are left on your own.
This is how Volta is received: It seems that Volta has not been an important factor in FIFA 20 so far. On Reddit, the topic is treated rather negatively. Already in November, a post appeared that said: “I am here to tell you that Volta is officially dead after two months” – it comes from the user Pimbroo, who could no longer find opponents online. Besides some jokes, the comments contain critical points that lament the lack of multiplayer components.
And even the story mode could not really make Volta interesting. This can be seen in the PlayStation trophies: In FIFA 20, there is a trophy called “End of the Road” that you receive for completing the Volta story. Only 4.3% of players have achieved this so far.
In addition, there is the “Collector” trophy, which you receive for collecting 5 legends in Volta. Only 2.6% of players have unlocked this. Whether Volta is really officially dead is difficult to assess. One thing is for sure: the mode does not play an important role for the majority of the player base.
Where can Volta shine? Anyone who has observed the release phase of FIFA 20 has noticed that anticipation for Volta was high. Therefore, it seems like a lot of missed potential that the multiplayer component is missing.
Anyone who has played a round of Volta on the couch with friends – because that is possible – will have noticed: Playing together makes the mode fun. If FIFA 20 could manage to transfer that fun feeling into the online mode, Volta might just have another chance.
Besides Volta, there are also a few other features that FIFA 20 could improve in the next year:
The mood around the new MMO New World has changed significantly in recent weeks. While it was previously a niche game that received little attention, it is now one of the big MMO hopes for 2020. What is the reason for this?
In June 2019, the alpha was concluded and barely any news came from the game
This was the image that many had of New World for a long time: Crafting as an important part of a survival MMO.
From the little that was learned from 2016 to 2019 and what was heard from the alphas, it seemed that New World would be a “survival MMO” focused on PvP, set in an alternative version of North America in the 17th century. It was to take place in a world where myths and legends corresponded to reality: The concept was envisioned as a colonial setting with horror elements.
This is now different: In September 2019, it became clear that Amazon plans to rework the MMO. At that time, they deleted all videos from YouTube. The oldest video there is now from December 12, 2019 – so Amazon has essentially “reset” the PR campaign and completely removed everything that came before December 12.
In December 2019, Amazon then presented the new New World:
The “scaling” has taken a backseat – now there is talk of “more than 1000 people on the server” and 50vs50 PvP battles, as well as 50vsX monster fights
New World presents itself mysteriously and darkly – attracting many
This is the result: Interest in New World has significantly increased due to this realignment. Those who were previously put off by the PvP focus are now taking a keen interest in New World.
Some of the previous players of New World who were in the alpha seem at the moment to be the only ones mourning the PvP focus and wondering about this turn of events.
5 reasons why New World is now such a hope
Why is New World now such an MMO hope? A lot is coming together with New World at the moment:
New scenario and strong graphics: What has been seen of New World in trailers so far appeals to many players. The graphics look good. With the new setting, we see new motifs apart from fantasy backdrops that MMO fans recognize
The wildlife is said to be a highlight of New World
High expectations for Amazon – People trust the giant Amazon to create something relevant and new in the MMO genre with a high budget
Little concrete information – ironically, this is speaking in favor of New World: So far, there has been almost nothing but positive news about the game, as Amazon has only presented fantastic-sounding broad strokes, but not the many smaller details that players often get hung up on and then find faults

The announcement trailer that mainly focused on the scenario
What will be exciting now: At the moment, New World is a blank slate onto which players can project their wishes to imagine their “perfect MMO”. In the coming weeks and months, New World will provide players with many details to make the image of the game more concrete, until players can finally get a first taste in April during a closed beta.
It will be exciting to see whether the “increased information” in the coming weeks still leaves enough room for players to believe in New World as an MMO hope.
Winter has arrived in Fortnite. We not only have a snow-covered map, but now there are also snowstorms. What could be behind these blizzards?
This is how the map in Fortnite has changed: The Winterfest event in Fortnite has started. The whole map has been covered in snow. But now snowstorms keep appearing every few minutes.
During the storms, you can barely see anything and you can hear the wind whistling. The blizzards last about 3 minutes and then completely disappear. What could this mean?
What could these snowstorms mean?
Such snowstorms occurred last year. From these originated the Ice King event. The Ice King broke out of his ice orb and summoned a huge snowstorm that covered the entire map.
After that, there were monsters on the map that had to be fought; even challenges could be completed by the players. Now many Fortnite players are wondering what 2019 could hold for them.
Does the Fortnite story finally continue?
Could the snowstorms possibly belong to the story of Fortnite? These snowstorms are not only game-changing, as you can hardly see anything and can barely recognize enemies during them, they could also hint at the storyline of Fortnite Battle Royale.
There were clues about the storyline in a loading screen this season. It shows the Chaos Agent, who is presumably the head of a criminal secret organization. He is observing several monitors, and one shows a weather front.
On the monitor that is at head height of the Chaos Agent, there is an image with a weather forecast. Could this possibly be the snowstorm announcement that is now happening in the game?
Is there going to be a snowstorm event again?
Could we experience a live event again? Last year, the snowstorm event took place on January 19, 2018. It could therefore be possible that we might experience a live event after the Winterfest event.
This has not been officially confirmed. It remains open whether this will happen or if it is all just preparation for the big end event of Season 1 Chapter 2.
What do you think? What could these snowstorms mean?
Steam has released the bestsellers of 2019, and there is even an MMORPG among them.
What has Steam announced? At the end of the year, Valve published the games that sold best in 2019. We will show you which of them received the Platinum trophy for particularly good sales.
What are the Top 12? These twelve games have received a Platinum Award.
Warframe – Release 2013
Destiny 2 – 2019
CS:GO – Release 2012
Civilization 6 – Release 2016
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice – Release 2019
DotA 2 – Release 2013
Grand Theft Auto 5 – Release 2015
Monster Hunter World – Release 2018
Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege – Release 2015
Total War: Three Kingdoms – Release 2019
Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds – Release 2017
The Elder Scrolls Online – Release 2014
What is special about the list? Eight of the twelve games are multiplayer titles – essentially even nine if you count GTA 5 because of GTA Online. It is also remarkable that Destiny 2 ranks 2nd among the bestsellers on Steam, considering that the loot shooter only appeared on Valve’s platform in October 2019.
Moreover, it’s not just newer titles included. CS:GO from 2012 and also Warframe, as well as DotA 2 from 2013 are still performing strongly.
If you’re wondering what was included in the revenues of the “bestsellers,” here is Steam’s explanation:
When measuring revenue, we consider sales of the game itself, in-game sales, and sales of add-ons related to the respective game.

This is why The Elder Scrolls Online made it to the Top 12: ESO is the only MMORPG that has received a Platinum Award this year. This is due to how the online game has developed in 2019. This can be seen well in the reviews of the game on Steam, which have increased.
The Season of the Dragon was very well received by players.
Not only has a major expansion been released, but also three DLCs. All together, they tell an epic story.
The story of 2019 is among the best for the MMORPG.
The year 2019 for WoW can only be described as “wild”. A crazy journey between the lows and highs of the game.
The year 2019 is coming to an end, and it is time for a few little reflections. Especially Blizzard’s MMORPG World of Warcraft experienced a lot of ups and downs in 2019. We will look back at the past year and see what has become of World of Warcraft – and how it will continue in the future.
The year 2019 for WoW – Many Turbulences and little beauty
At least for “Retail” WoW, meaning Battle for Azeroth, the year 2019 was not a particularly good year. The first hype about the latest expansion had already faded in the first months of the year, and critiques of the existing systems became louder. The Azerite system was unpopular, and dissatisfaction with the many RNG mechanics peaked. Especially Titanforging was a thorn in the side of many players.
But there were even more issues. The criticism of Battle for Azeroth became more pronounced, and more and more grievances were highlighted. Many new systems, such as the Warfronts or Island Expeditions, seemed half-heartedly implemented into the game and scarcely fit into the overall concept of the expansion.
Small content addition with Patch 8.1.5: With Patch 8.1.5, World of Warcraft in March introduced the “Crucible of Storms”, which brought the connection between the story of the conflict between Horde and Alliance and the fight against the Old God N’Zoth and Azshara. Shadow Priests were thrilled about a reunion with the weapon Xal’atath, which even played an important role in the story.
Aside from that, there was little to do in Patch 8.1.5, leading to growing unrest among players. Reports piled up everywhere, stating that many players had hung up their WoW accounts. The cities became emptier and emptier. On social media and official forums, players showed their friends lists and complained that most friends had already turned their backs on WoW.
Patch 8.2 brought a brief uplift: When Patch 8.2 was released in July, it provided Battle for Azeroth with a new boost. Blizzard had adjusted many aspects and reduced the requirements for Azerite armor. It was no longer necessary to farm a high level of the Heart of Azeroth just to be able to wear armor. At the same time, the patch offered a comprehensive raid with the “Eternal Palace” and many contents and long-term goals with the two areas Mechagon and Nazjatar.
Patch 8.2 also introduced the system of Essences into the game. These improved the Heart of Azeroth even further and granted players new passive abilities. Obtaining the best abilities required time, endurance, or skill.
However, this very system was quickly criticized by players. It was practically impossible to play alt characters at a solid level. Anyone wanting to do so had to repeat the grind for the essences for each character. A problem that still persists today.
The release of WoW Classic: The big highlight of the year was definitely the release of World of Warcraft Classic in August. It had been long awaited by fans and everyone rushed to the servers at launch. Whether long-lost players or the current retail community, nearly everyone wanted to take a look at the Classic realms and at least played along in the first weeks.
However, this shine did not last forever. Already in October, after a large part of the players had reached level 60, discontented voices were raised. The mentality of the community seemed to have changed. Many were no longer focused on fun, but on optimization.
BlizzCon 2019 sparked optimism: At least for the “Retail” version of World of Warcraft, BlizzCon in November offered many new insights. Here, the next expansion “Shadowlands” was announced, taking players to the realm of the dead. Besides the “usual suspects,” such as new areas, world quests, and factions, Shadowlands will discard some concepts and bring innovations. These include:
No more grinding for artifact power
Level squish to level 60
Repeatable endgame content like the Tower of Torghast
Many new customization options
They addressed the criticism from fans, and the first impression seems to be that Shadowlands aims to improve much of what Battle for Azeroth failed at.
Conclusion – 2019 was a wild year for WoW
In summary, 2019 was a pretty turbulent year for WoW with many lows but also one very prominent highlight. One can look hopefully optimistic towards the future. If Blizzard learns from the setbacks, WoW – in both versions – could be on a good path.
And what comes in 2020 for World of Warcraft?
Fortunately, World of Warcraft is far from over. In 2020, there will be plenty of new content, especially a fresh expansion and still pending content for WoW Classic.
New patch right at the start of the year: In the new year, the Patch 8.3 Visions of N’Zoth will be released early in January after many months on the PTR. It expands the game with a new raid and smaller game modes like the Horrific Visions.
But also new mechanics, such as the Corruption system or the legendary cloak are coming into play. However, some remnants from Patch 8.2 are dampening the mood.
Expansion still in 2020: The next expansion “Shadowlands” is also set to launch in 2020. While there is no release date yet, fall seems to be a suitable timeframe (thus Quarter 4). Here, a new chapter of World of Warcraft will begin, hopefully resonating more with players than the expansion “Battle for Azeroth”. Because such a long dry spell might break WoW’s neck.
Before that, however, there will likely be a closed beta, probably starting in late spring or summer. Then, fresh information will likely pour in.
And what about Classic? For WoW Classic, the releases of the various phases are still outstanding. Content like Ahn’Qiraj or Naxxramas with the Scourge invasions will still come. What happens after the original content is implemented remains uncertain. However, it will likely take at least another six months to reach that state.
How did you find WoW’s performance in 2019? What are you looking forward to in 2020?

Our author Irie has rediscovered in the MMORPG Lost Ark that being a noob can be really fun. One just has to embrace it.
Many of you will know it: When starting a new multiplayer game that has been on the market for a while, you first look for a handful of beginner guides. There are many different reasons for this.
Long-running MMORPGs always have a large number of features and things to consider. Newcomers often risk missing important information or wasting their currency. To avoid this frustration, beginners prefer to quickly check a guide beforehand.
Or one simply wants to quickly reach the endgame, because that’s often where the real fun begins and all the other players are already there. I have also gotten into the habit of checking old content from games that I am new to.
For me, it’s a matter of consideration for the poor souls who end up in a group with me, the noob. Especially with old content that people have run through a thousand times, I want to avoid being carried by the rest of the group. A bit of pride plays a part in that as well.
The special position of Lost Ark makes it possible
What is different about Lost Ark? Lost Ark has successfully prevented me from searching for guides. Because it has only been released in Korea and Russia, there is no official English translation available.
Guides in English are rare and often not as detailed as I would like. Now, I could look at Russian sites. However, by the time you find the right letters on a non-Russian keyboard and type a word into Google, you might as well want to rip your spine out… I’ve heard.
For example: It was cool to discover that the boundaries of the maps are sometimes not as definitive as they seem. Such hidden places are often found in Lost Ark.
But I had already decided early on not to search for guides. That was because Lost Ark encouraged me to embark on a journey of discovery myself. It specifically promotes the positive feeling of exploration.
One reason for this is that every type of exploration is rewarded in some way. MMORPGs with beautiful maps are abundant, but they often don’t incentivize you to spend much time looking around on those maps.
This is what the Atlas looks like: The window in the top left shows you your progress in gathering and the rewards you will receive every 10%.
The “Atlas of Seekers” feature in Lost Ark is a collection for all kinds of collectibles:
For visiting viewpoints on the maps
For collecting certain lore items from monsters
For killing rare monsters scattered everywhere
For collecting hidden story fragments
For cooking certain recipes
The most important thing about it is that these small tasks reward you with items that are actually useful. Especially useful are potions that permanently grant additional points to the main stats or bonus points for your skill tree. It’s a clever little system.
Additionally, Lost Ark allows you to choose whether you want to play alone or in a group all the way to the maximum level. When there were dungeons I needed to enter for the story, I preferred to enter them alone first.
This option gave me enough time to thoroughly explore the dungeon and crawl into every nook to search for collectibles or hidden items.
The difficulty of the dungeons adjusts to the number of players in the group. So you can easily complete them alone.
Afterwards, however, I went directly into Heroic Mode with a random group to farm armor. Although I was still the noob, the others didn’t have to wait for me to finish all the cutscenes. We had quick and efficient farming runs together and chatted whenever someone in the group spoke English.
Almost like in the old days when there was “no internet”
I know it’s my own fault. I put myself in a situation where new MMORPGs stopped feeling like an adventure. Therefore, it was all the more refreshing when multiple factors came together in Lost Ark that made it particularly easy for me to enjoy my own noobiness.
I even started keeping a log in which I noted the locations of certain items or places where something special was, but that I couldn’t yet use. At times, it felt like back in the day with the old PS1 games that had neither guides nor solution books.
What I have experienced in Lost Ark in the past few months is not a feeling exclusive to Lost Ark. Nearly every solid multiplayer game can give you this feeling. One just has to embrace it and try to discover an MMORPG oneself.
Players are waiting for the PvE MMORPG Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen, who would like a classic MMO experience in the style of Everquest. The developers have now explained their plans for early 2020.
What is Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen? The MMORPG aims to create a classic player experience, as known from the early days of the genre, especially from Everquest 1. This means that PvE and group content are at the forefront.
However, this is to be somewhat modernized with nice graphics and controls adapted to modern standards.

What does the MMORPG look like at the moment? Visionary Realms, the developers behind Pantheon, have released two videos. Both showcase new content. One video focuses on the climbing feature and the warrior’s combat skills.
In the other video, we see a two-hour gameplay session from a current version of the MMORPG. This video shows how Pantheon currently plays and provides a very good insight into the gameplay.
What have the developers revealed about the future of the game? In a developer diary, the team discussed their plans for the near future. Currently, the MMORPG is still in Pre-Alpha 4. However, Pre-Alpha 5 is set to start in early 2020. Afterwards, Alpha 1 is planned, also known as “Project Faerthale“.
What does Pre-Alpha 5 offer? The next Pre-Alpha is basically the last major step towards a version of Pantheon that is supposed to provide a “real” insight into the entire game. However, of course, in a very early form.
Pre-Alpha 5 offers plenty of content:
A chat system
An initial version of the climbing system
Climate and climate adjustments
The perception system, which helps you find quests
Various travel options like binding and gating
All classes are playable
Persistence of the world and characters
A first pet system
Resource gathering and crafting
NPCs with unique behaviors
A revised UI
The faction system
Enhanced combat

When will Pre-Alpha 5 come? The team has not yet announced a release date. However, it should not take too long. Almost all planned systems are ready, and some optimizations are still taking place.
The so-called “Living Codex,” which manages the spell and ability system, is currently still the biggest work in progress, and there is still a lack of content to keep testers busy.
What comes after Pre-Alpha 5? After the next testing phase, the Alpha will begin. This should provide a really good insight into the entire project. It is still uncertain when the Alpha will start. This depends on when Pre-Alpha 5 begins and how long this phase lasts.
What about the Beta? This has not been discussed further. The team is currently focused on the Alpha. However, the chances of a Beta in 2020 are not bad.
Why is Pantheon so exciting? Pantheon appeals to those who want an MMORPG that focuses on PvE and group content. PvP plays only a minor role. In Pantheon, it is about exploring the world together in a group, completing quests, mastering dungeons, and fighting monsters.
The MMORPG aims to offer many challenges and not hold players’ hands too much. Those looking for a new gaming experience where they can share many adventures with friends should keep an eye on Pantheon.
That’s why 2020 will be interesting: After a somewhat tough 2019, in which the death of studio founder Brad McQuaid overshadowed the production of Pantheon, the MMORPG is now on a good course. 2020 will be a very exciting year, as we will then get a “real” insight into the game and see how Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen will play out as a complete MMORPG.
Are you looking forward to the MMORPG Pantheon? Will you be participating in Pre-Alpha 5?
Trophies of the mythic golden fish are among the rarest achievements in Fortnite. A player was just a moment away from such a trophy, but was eliminated at the last second.
What are these trophies? You only receive these achievements if you have the mythic golden fish. You can catch it, but it is incredibly rare.
If you have the fish, there are 3 trophies:
Catch the mythic golden fish
Eliminate an opponent with the fish
Get eliminated with the fish
A player was so close to the trophy
So rare is the golden fish: When you catch the fish, it is just as much an item as any other weapon. It is just incredibly hard to get the fish.
According to dexerto the fish has a catch rate of 0.000136%. So you need a lot of luck to pull the golden fish out of the water.
Catch the golden fish from the water.
What makes the trophies so special: If you have the luck to catch the fish, you naturally want to complete the trophies. You then look for an opponent to eliminate and can drop the fish to get eliminated by another player.
So narrowly failed: A player on reddit now shows how narrowly one can fail the challenge. He was just about to secure the elimination and had already eliminated one opponent. He was in team mode, so he had to finally eliminate his opponent. For this, he wanted to use the golden fish.
He fired a few shots at his helpless victim and seemed just about to switch to the fish when he was eliminated from behind at the last second. His opponent’s team came to help and was merciless.
If the player had had one more second, he would likely have received the trophy, but now he has to hope again to pull the rare golden fish out of the water.
Pokémon GO has received a new feature at PokéStops. You can move existing Stops and change them in other ways. The feature could become very important for you.
What exactly does the feature do? If a PokéStop is located at a place in your city where it shouldn’t be, like the Brandenburg Gate in Cologne, you can now move it. Of course, you need to provide good reasons, and players at Niantic Wayfarer must agree to it.
However, the system doesn’t seem to be working perfectly yet, as Niantic removed the feature from the game just a few hours later.
This is what the new feature brings for you
You can essentially change everything at the PokéStop. Image, location, or description can be replaced by your submissions. For example, if the image is blurry or the text is incorrect, you can improve it now.

This is particularly interesting: Especially moving the location is interesting. Almost every city will have one or more PokéStops that are located where they don’t belong. You can now correct all of these.
This could result in better places to play. For example, if you move a Stop to a location with many other Stops, you can activate Lure Modules even better there.
This could be a problem: The feature already exists in Ingress and there players have shown what is possible with it. In the Spanish city of Zaragoza, for example, players moved a bunch of Stops right next to each other. This way, you can encounter over 15 PokéStops in one location. Of course, they are not all actually there, but were simply moved there through this feature.
This is what it looks like in Zaragoza at several locations.
The whole system is only verified by Niantic Wayfarer. A player in a completely different city cannot know if there is a plaque or a nice wall at a certain spot. They then confirm it, which significantly distorts the game.
How accessible is the system? So far, only players at level 40 are allowed to suggest changes. The same requirements apply as for submitting PokéStops and Niantic Wayfarer.
But currently no trainer has access to the feature. Just a few hours after the release, Niantic stopped the new system again. There seem to be a few issues. Once these are resolved, the feature should go live again.
The PS4 games for Playstation Plus for January 2020 are “delayed”: The 2 free games will be announced only on January 1, 2020. The shifting of the days creates an unusual schedule for the coveted free games.
The free PS4 games that are available monthly are usually announced on the last Wednesday of the month and released on the following Tuesday. However, unlike last year, the next Tuesday falls on the 31st and is still in December. The games would therefore be released too early.
The earliest possible Wednesday for the announcement is January 1, 2020. Due to this shift in the schedule, some players are currently a bit confused and are asking: When will Sony announce what the new free games will be?
When will the PS Plus games be announced?
The PS Plus games will be announced around 5:30 PM German time on January 1, 2020.
A week later, on January 7, 2020, they can then be downloaded on PS4.
As a result, at least the undecided or those who have been postponing it until now have more time for the free download of the PS Plus games from December. However, anyone who has not done so by January 7 will no longer have a chance.
What are the PS Plus games in December? Currently, there are still the acclaimed shooter Titanfall 2 and the fun motorcycle game Monster Energy Supercross available for free.
In multiplayer shooters like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, unfortunately, cheaters regularly wreak havoc. A new glitch could now become a real problem for MW: players are cheating under the map. A Twitch streamer, who becomes a victim of a player under the map, escalates.
What kind of glitch is this? Apparently, there are players who have figured out how to leave the usual map area to stay under or beside the map.
Cheaters can then shoot at other players and deal damage. Often, you can’t even see where the shots are coming from.
A cheater is waiting in a wall for their next victim.
Cheaters are slowly becoming a problem
Why could this become a problem for Modern Warfare? If the method becomes widely known, matches with such cheaters are hardly playable.
So far, hardly anyone knows how the glitch works. As long as that remains the case, very few players will actually be affected.
The more unfair, small cheaters learn how the trick works, the greater the impact on the game and thus the problem for the developers.
What does it look like? The Twitch streamer “aimbotcalvin” was taken out by such a cheater during a round of Ground War on the map “Port of Verdansk”.

Just when he was caught, he could hardly believe it and wondered where the opponent could have been. When he then saw his killcam, he could hardly contain his anger.
The opponent was under the map and “aimbotcalvin” was easy prey for the cheater. The streamer had absolutely no chance to react and can hardly get a grip on himself.
Out-of-map kills cause frustration in CoD Modern Warfare
Have there been more sightings? Slowly but surely, more posts about “out of map” glitches are appearing on Reddit. Especially on the small, new map Shipment, there are several videos where cheaters are messing around under or beside the map.

Sometimes, the sneaky glitchers simply sit behind a wall and wait for their unsuspecting victims. Modern Warfare is one of the games that positively surprised us in 2019, but such things should quickly disappear from the shooter.
Developers will react, but when?
Are the developers doing anything about this? It is to be expected that Infinity Ward will respond, particularly if the problem escalates and more players are affected by the dirty tactics.
Since the release of FIFA 20, there have already been several promos in Ultimate Team featuring numerous special cards. We show you the best players that won’t cost a fortune but are still incredibly strong.
What special cards are there? So far, there have been the following events in FUT 20 with their corresponding special cards:
Among them are also real gems that you don’t necessarily have to sell your entire team for. Moreover, the Team of the Week often offers really good cards as well.
We have looked at all the previous special cards and will tell you which ones are worth it for most teams.
However, we avoid the absolute top players that cost a fortune in FIFA coins, just like SBC players that are currently no longer available.
The best affordable special cards so far in FUT 20
These cards are worth it: Thanks to the various promo actions, there are many special cards that are significantly better than their standard versions. This also brings players into focus who usually do not receive much attention.
Guerreiro – Ultimate Scream
This is what makes the card strong: The card has an overall rating of 85, which is 4 points better than the normal gold card. This makes him a dangerous weapon on the left wing for Bundesliga teams. Additionally, what makes the card particularly interesting is the 14-point upgrade in speed.
With the right Chemistry Style, Scream-Guerreiro is hard to catch up to.
The card costs: 31,000 coins (PS4)
Bernard – Ultimate Scream
This is what makes the card strong: For this Halloween card, it is very similar to Scream-Guerreiro, as it also gets a 4-point upgrade compared to the normal gold card. However, there is a huge boost in shooting and physicality.
Therefore, Bernard is an attractive option for the left wing, if a Premier League team is being played.
The card costs: 110,000 coins (PS4)
De Jong – Ones to Watch
This is what makes the card strong: De Jong is a true all-rounder in midfield, whose only weakness is finishing. However, that’s not too tragic, as otherwise, the card lacks almost nothing. It’s fast, good at dribbling, and reliable in passing. It also has good defensive and physical stats.
The biggest argument for this card is that it gets stronger whenever De Jong makes it into the Team of the Week. And with his current form, this is likely to happen more than once.
Still, this card is not exactly super cheap. However, considering the potential for improvement, this OTW card is definitely worth the investment.
The card costs: 160,000 coins (PS4)
Delaney – Team of the Week
This is what makes the card strong: The Bundesliga has many good cards available for midfield. However, Delaney’s first Inform card from the first TOTW in FUT 20 is really strong. It has outstanding defensive and physical stats, and decent speed.
If you play him, you will quickly notice that he is found everywhere on the pitch and wins balls for you.
The card costs: 39,000 coins (PS4)
Werner – Team of the Week
This is what makes the card strong: If you play a Bundesliga squad, you can hardly miss out on Timo Werner for the striker position. Although his gold card (83) is already very strong, if you have the budget, you should consider his Inform card.
It is significantly better in shooting, passing, and dribbling. Currently, there is hardly a better card for the Bundesliga attack.
The card costs: 90,000 coins (PS4)
Martinez – Team of the Group Stage
This is what makes the card strong: You get a real striker gem with Martinez for your Serie A team. The striker from Inter Milan normally has a gold card rated at 81, which isn’t worth mentioning. However, his Team of the Group Stage card is really strong and doesn’t even cost much.
It has outstanding pace, good shooting stats, and strong dribbling. Additionally, Martinez can score with 4-star skill moves and 4 stars for his weak foot.
The card costs: 28,000 coins (PS4)
Müller – Ultimate Scream
This is what makes the card strong: The Halloween card of Thomas Müller is a real top-card. You can excellently play her as CAM as well as a striker. Müller shines with outstanding speed and finishing strength. Many goals are thus guaranteed!
The card costs: 150,000 coins (PS4)
Ter Stegen – Team of the Year Nominee
This is what makes the card strong: For teams with players from La Liga and squads with German defenders, there are hardly any better goalkeepers than Ter Stegen. The national goalkeeper has amazing stats and offers everything a goalkeeper needs in FIFA.
Though the card is not exactly cheap, it is definitely worth the coins.
The card costs: 110,000 coins (PS4)
Sancho – Road to the Final
This is what makes the card strong: Right now, there are not many options for the right wing for Bundesliga teams. And if you missed the Gnabry POTM SBC, then UCL Live Sancho is also a very good choice.
The attacking player from Dortmund has a lot of pace, good dribbling, and 5-star skill moves. The only weakness is his long shots.
And who knows, maybe Dortmund will get a few more rounds further in the Champions League. Then this card will only get stronger.
Sandbox or Themepark is somewhat similar to the question Story or not. But how exactly do the two MMORPG genres differ from one another and who should play which?
When MMORPGs emerged in the mid-1990s, predefined stories barely played a role. Quests were rudimentary and it was mainly about exploring the world with friends, learning about its background story, and overcoming challenges together – such as exploring dungeons, defeating monsters, and becoming powerful heroes.
Ultima Online is considered by many to be the quintessential sandbox.
Many Freedoms in the Sandbox
As one of the first “true” sandbox MMORPGs, Ultima Online was released in 1997. Sandbox, because it was essentially a large sandbox where quests and story were irrelevant. Everyone could do what they wanted. Whether hunting monsters in dungeons or simply running a bakery and providing others with food.
A sandbox offers players as much freedom as possible in the online world. There should be as little as possible predefined. Players can create their own houses and entire cities, manage the economy themselves, craft items that others need, provide mutual protection, wage guild wars… A sandbox aims to be a kind of second home for as many players as possible.
The characteristics of a sandbox MMO are therefore:
Little to no focus on quests and story
Players enjoy many freedoms
Crafting and housing are very important
Players can also succeed as craftsmen
The community creates its own stories
World of Warcraft is the epitome of the themepark MMORPG.
Themepark MMORPGs Impress with Stories
When World of Warcraft was released in 2004, it defined the term themepark MMORPGs. The term is derived from amusement parks, where one experiences one attraction after another. In MMORPGs, these are quests and story. Players are guided through the story by tasks. These are usually linear experiences. After completing challenges, players move on to the next quest and experience the next small story.
In a themepark MMORPG, this player experience is at the center. It’s not about building cities or managing the world’s economy – although that is still possible. It’s about engaging with the story and quests, which help develop the hero. Themepark MMORPGs utilize many elements from single-player role-playing games, but package them in a multiplayer experience.
The characteristics of a themepark MMORPG are:
Focus is on quests
The games place great importance on storytelling
Players are generally adventurers and heroes
Exploring the game world is important
PvE is often more important than PvP
Black Desert Online skillfully blends sandbox and themepark elements.
It Can Also Be Both
Nowadays, there are even hybrids. One example is Black Desert Online. In these games, there are quests and a story, but they are not the focus. It is still possible to participate in the game world’s economy, build an empire, fight guild wars, and ignore anything related to the story.
MMORPGs are very versatile games. They aim to offer players as many options as possible to have fun in the way that brings them the most joy. Whether through experiencing a story or building a kind of second life in a virtual world.
Who Should Play What?
It can indeed be the case that those who enjoy themepark MMORPGs have little interest in sandbox titles – and vice versa. Those who want to experience an exciting story will find it in a themepark game like The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO). On the other hand, those who want to enjoy many freedoms and write their own story based on their actions rather than predefined quests should opt for sandbox games like EVE Online.
EVE Online is a sandbox in space.
Who is suited for sandbox games? A sandbox appeals primarily to players who don’t care much about a predefined story and prefer to build something themselves. Those who want to be a master craftsman, participate in building a city, or become a powerful hero who travels the world and defeats the most fearsome enemies can do so in a sandbox. You can rise to the head of a guild or even become the ruler of your own kingdom.
Who is suited for themepark MMORPGs? If you are more interested in exciting stories, enjoy following quests, getting to know interesting NPCs, and want to follow a story where you become a hero, then you should check out themepark MMORPGs. Here, the story is at the center, which you experience together with friends.
The Elder Scrolls Online focuses on quests and story, making it one of the themepark MMORPGs.
Here you will find a small list of good sandbox MMORPGs:
EVE Online
ArcheAge
Ultima Online
Albion Online
These themepark MMOs you might want to check out:
World of Warcraft
The Elder Scrolls Online
Final Fantasy XIV
Guild Wars 2
If you want the “best of both worlds,” then Black Desert Online is worth a look.
Which genre do you prefer? Sandbox or Themepark? Or do you like it when both elements are mixed?
Jeff Kaplan from Overwatch sat in front of the fireplace again in 2019. Fans are speculating about a message in the Overwatch Yule Log 2019. What’s behind it?
What is the Yule Log 2019? Since 2017, Jeff Kaplan, the head of Overwatch, has sat in front of a fireplace every year on December 24. This year, he sat in the chair again and looked into the camera. The stream has lasted around eight to ten hours in the past years.
Since Kaplan did this for the first time, a kind of cult has formed around the stream: Players are waiting for Kaplan to give “some hint about Overwatch 2,” some hidden clue.
Can I still watch the stream? You can watch the entire stream on the official Twitch channel of Overwatch.
Genji is supposed to play an important role.
What is the secret message that everyone is talking about?
Those who watch the Overwatch stream get the feeling at one point that Kaplan is acting extremely unnaturally, suddenly sitting upright and blinking unusually often.
In the following Twitch clip, you can observe this closely:
Some users on Twitch and Reddit discovered Kaplan’s strange behavior and recognized the blinking as a Morse code of “short and long”.
And indeed, Kaplan sent a signal to the players.
This is what the mysterious message means: The Twitch user southstanly translates the Morse code.
The Morse code means “I need Healing,” which in German means “Ich brauche Heilung”. The legendary “Overwatch” line that is always attributed to Genji.
The Morse code is a clever gag from Kaplan to engage with the fans who have been searching for secrets in the “Yule Log” stream for years.
Here, too, Kaplan seems to enjoy playing with the expectations of Overwatch players. Kaplan now knows how meticulously players are dissecting this Christmas stream for hidden clues.
What do you think about the Yule Log 2019 of Overwatch?
The dedicated space MMO Star Citizen unexpectedly releases a visual teaser for its upcoming campaign “Squadron 42” and sends an important signal to fans: Things are moving forward!
Star Citizen has been in development for years: A release is still not in sight. But players are eager for the space MMO and can hardly get enough of it.
The developers know this as well, as they now send an important message to fans with the release of a video for the single-player module “Squadron 42” over the holidays.
What was the message? The developers show with the video that the campaign is progressing and that a lot has been worked on Squadron 42 in 2019. The developers at CIG refer to this visual teaser, which is meant to evoke desires and showcase some highlights, as a Christmas gift:
It’s been a while since we had a significant look at Squadron 42, even though our global teams have been working hard behind the spoiler curtain. To give all of you a special Christmas gift, we’ve put together this visual update, highlighting some of the work we’ve done throughout 2019. (…)
Why was this so important? Even though a recent update was rolled out to the alpha servers of the space MMO, it had been quite quiet around the campaign.
There are significant roadmaps for Squadron 42. However, for many, the campaign still seemed far off, especially since it had been relatively quiet this year. The new teaser is meant to alleviate this feeling, and it appears that the developers have succeeded.
How is the video received? The clips from the campaign “Squadron 42” are well received, and even here in Germany the teaser made it into the general YouTube trends, briefly reaching 20th place.
The video has already collected more than 12,000 likes and, with nearly 260,000 views, is the most successful video of the year on the official Star Citizen channel. And that not even 24 hours after its release. (View count: December 26 around 3:00 PM)
What does the teaser look like? The released video is a visual teaser and shows you some locations and elements of the campaign that were created by developers in 2019.

What is there to see? The teaser provides uncommented insights with new scenes from various locations in the campaign. There are also technical details to see, such as the view of a new engine.
This is what the trailer shows you:
New locations
On the ground and in space
new ships and reworks
also modifications of Vanduul ships
A populated station
a small insight into the social and economic structure
There are even homeless people on the station
Huge Vanduul carrier
A gigantic ship that apparently belongs to the Vanduul and is part of the story
For fans, many of these insights are valuable. Mostly they are small details or subtle images that reveal a little more about the background and are analyzed closely.
The modified Vanduul ships are particularly well received.
Star Citizen fans rejoice over holiday gift
How is it received by fans? The comments under the video are mostly positive, and players are excited about this holiday surprise.
Brett Frazier: “My mind just exploded… thank you CIG.”
Xavier Matews: “This is an excellent Christmas gift!!! :D”
Opreax Qweyzar: “That was unexpected and absolutely great.”
Many comments describe the video as “awesome” or “beautiful.” The good mood is almost tangible, and people are happy to hear something new about the campaign during the holidays.
On the station, there are many residents.
Are there any critical voices? But not everyone is completely satisfied with the material shown, although it only concerns relatively few.
It looks great. But the fact that they released a visual teaser instead of an actual trailer shows me that the designers have completed most of S42 and now only have about 1 billion gameplay blockers left. I hope the big roadmap update after January shows that I was wrong.
SageWaterDragon fears that the developers are only now starting to implement all the gameplay elements after the designers have more or less finished building the campaign.
Some players had wished for new gameplay footage and are now disappointed. Almost exactly two years ago, there was even a one-hour gameplay demo.
The teaser ends with a look at this massive construct.
No gameplay from Squadron 42, but update 3.8 just before Christmas
What else is happening with Star Citizen? The player-funded mega project recently reached a new milestone and can now show over 250,000,000 dollars in raised funds, also through new ships with some insane prices.
A few days ago, alpha build 3.8 went live for Star Citizen and brought players a lot of graphical overhauls and fundamental innovations. But the developers are working on even more and have even planned a Battlefield-like multiplayer mode.
What do you think of the new teaser? What are you expecting from the campaign Squadron 42?
As is typical for a loot shooter, Destiny 2 offers a bunch of cool weapons. But how well do you really know the firearms? In our quiz, you only have to guess the hidden examples based on their outlines.
The Destiny franchise is known for its excellent gameplay. It just feels great to blast nasty aliens in the face. A big part of that is the many unique weapons.
Some firearms could directly come from a Western, while others seem inspired by fantasy epics. But even wacky sci-fi guns are available to the Guardians.
In the current Season 9 alone, there are 65 unique exotic weapons in Destiny 2. According to the database, there are now 692 different firearms available. In the current season, there are again new and unique weapons to be obtained:
How does the quiz work? You will first only see the shadow of the weapon. It’s up to you to assign a name to the outline. Clicking once on the shadow image will reveal the answer along with the name.
We have chosen 12 famous weapons. Some of the firearms debuted in Destiny 1. Since the most famous weapons are the exotics, you will mainly be dealing with exotic guns. However, a few legendary weapons have also sneaked into the quiz.
Be honest with yourself and have fun puzzling!
Dieses Quiz ist geschlossen.
Do you want to continue tinkering and see some head-scratching? In the past years, we also had Destiny puzzles for you:
So, how did you do in the quiz? Did you find the task childishly easy and recognized each weapon immediately by its outline? Or did we make it difficult for you? Let us know in the comments.
