Monster Hunter World turns two years old in just a few days. On January 24, a new event will be coming to Iceborne. Finally on all platforms: PS4, Xbox, and PC. The Astral Fest (Grand Appreciation Fest) will catapult you to the stars, and we will tell you why.
Update January 22: The Astral Fest in Seliana and the Festival of Gratitude in Astera start on January 24 at 1 a.m. German time. They will end on February 14. According to the latest roadmap, the “Grand Appreciation Fest” will be playable on all platforms.
What kind of event is this? There was already a big event for the first birthday of Monster Hunter World in 2019. And another anniversary is coming up in January 2020. For the second anniversary of the game, there will be the “Astral Fest”.
This event revolves around the theme of sky, stars, and space. The developers have said about themselves that they may have gotten a bit carried away. Therefore, the lift is reflected in the crazy outfits of the characters and fancy equipment for you and your Palico.
An image of the festive gathering place in Seliana from the developer diary
When does the event start? It kicks off on January 24, 2020. Since the Iceborne expansion is also being released for PC at that time, the event will likely be accessible on all platforms.
Palico, Equipment, and NPCs from Space
When the event starts, everything will be wrapped in a star theme. Your gathering place will have glowing lanterns, and the NPCs will also be dressed appropriately as usual. This also applies to your hunting expert, who comes with small antennas on her head.
This equipment is available for the event: Naturally, you will be able to farm weapons and armor for the second anniversary of Monster Hunter World again. Your Palico has probably been hit the hardest. If you build his armor, he will mutate into an alien.
An image of the Alien Palico from the developer diary
But you can also beam your own character to the stars. The Astral α+ armor looks like it was woven from space fabric. It is transparent and cut like a robe.

The Astral Armor for male characters from the developer diary
This armor can be crafted using Astral Tickets. The decoration armor can be made from VIP Tickets. Your chance of getting these tickets increases when you wear the Astral α+. The events in Monster Hunter World always have commendations or badges that you need to collect. From them, you can then craft all sorts of equipment and decorations.
Elf Ears, Retro Palicos, and Funny Weapons – There’s More to the Event
But even outside the star theme, there is a lot to discover at the event. You can turn your Palico into a little conductor with some armor. Additionally, there will be Palicos in retro design. This is how the cat-like companions used to look in older parts of the Monster Hunter franchise.
There will also be more for your hunter to grab. There will be a head armor in the elf ear design. Additionally, a hammer that looks like a well-cooked steak in Monster Hunter World.

Additionally, even more decoration armors are said to be coming. So far, players can choose from a set of low and high-rank equipment. However, master rank decoration armors will also become accessible. Whether they will come with the event in January is still unknown.
And just in time for the events, there is also a lot going on on Steam:

If you plan to visit the Corridors of Time in Destiny 2, you should hurry. The puzzle location won’t be available for much longer.
What is happening in Destiny 2? The past week has been dominated by one topic: the Corridors of Time. A secret mission developed into a genuine mega puzzle.
Visit the Corridors of Time quickly or you will miss out
This is what is happening now with the labyrinth: Following the reset yesterday, there was new information regarding the Corridors of Time. As community manager dmg04 stated on Twitter, the Corridors of Time will disappear from Destiny 2.
This is set to happen in a week. By the reset on January 28, the site of the mega puzzle is expected to close its doors. Forever. The reason given is an “unstable timeline.” Just as suddenly as they appeared, the Corridors will also disappear.

Here’s why you should visit the Corridors of Time yourself: While a personal visit is no longer strictly necessary to unlock the ultimate reward of the puzzle, the Bastion, there are still some good reasons to set foot in the seemingly endless labyrinth:
Experience the “I was there” feeling. With the motto: So thousands of Guardians have puzzled for almost a week here. Moreover, the location, with its surreal shapes and strange appearance, simply looks stylish.
If you want to venture into the Corridors of Time, you can find a detailed description of all symbols, codes, and mechanics here:
This is what the Guardians say about it: Players are somewhat surprised about the impending disappearance of the Corridors of Time. Many agree that the location simply has a great atmosphere.
One of the coolest places with amazing atmosphere to ever be in Destiny. It’s a shame that it will be gone. I know the reason, at least in part, for seasonal content to move on is to prevent bloat, but it’s too bad the Corridors have to go.
This player captures the sentiment of many Guardians well: he also raves about the excellent atmosphere. However, he can somewhat understand why the content is disappearing. Bungie wants to create a living, ever-moving Destiny world.
This is what it looks like in the Labyrinth of Time
Will you pay one last visit to the Corridors of Time or have you already explored the labyrinth? What do you think about the disappearance of this unique location?
The last cutscene of WoW: Battle for Azeroth has been revealed. Here you can watch how the fight against N’Zoth ends.
In America, players have already conquered the new raid Ny’alotha in World of Warcraft and defeated the final boss N’Zoth. It was accessible with the start of Season 4. This comes with a small sequence of cutscenes that we don’t want to withhold from you.
Spoiler warning: If you don’t want to know how the fight against N’Zoth ends, you should not read further. You have been warned.
What is there to see? The fight against N’Zoth ends with a small cutscene. This takes place “in-game” and shows the end of the fight against N’Zoth the Corruptor. The Champion (i.e., the player) is completely overwhelmed by N’Zoth’s corruption and falls under the mental control of the Old God.
Magni pleads with the hero not to listen to the voices of N’Zoth, after all, one is a child of Azeroth and not a servant of the Old Gods. This cry for help is then amplified by the Heart of Azeroth, enabling the Champion to momentarily break free from the Old God’s influence.
Magni and MOTHER take advantage of this to use the Heart of Azeroth as a focal point. They activate the Titans’ machines (which we have cleansed in Patch 8.3) and fire at the Champion. The concentrated energy is directed into the Heart of Azeroth and fired at N’Zoth.

The cutscene shows N’Zoth’s end: After that, the game switches to a pre-rendered cutscene. The laser beam hits N’Zoth and fills him with the radiance of Azeroth. The Old God is slowly inflated and then appears to burst. Everywhere in Ny’alotha, the Black Empire begins to crumble, and N’Zoth’s eyes disappear. The entire vision of Ny’alotha seems to collapse before the cinematic ends.
Afterwards, players find themselves in the Heart Chamber and receive their loot.
What do you think of the final cinematic from Battle for Azeroth? A cool ending for the Old God? Or was it rather unimpressive?
The first players are battling through the Ny’alotha raid in World of Warcraft. This has brought a new cinematic to light.
In America, the Season 4 of Battle for Azeroth has already started, which also means access to the new Ny’alotha raid. The first guilds are already fighting their way through the normal mode and are facing the final boss. But even on the way there, there is a small but fine cinematic featuring the dragon Wrathion in the lead role. You can watch it here.
Spoiler warning: If you do not want to know what happens in the Ny’alotha raid, you should not continue reading. You have been warned.
What is to be seen? The cinematic lasts exactly one minute and shows Wrathion, who possesses the blade Xal’atath. This was once the weapon of the shadow priests in Legion and also the prison of an old god. It seems that Wrathion wants to use the weapon for such a purpose again. He flies in his dragon form towards N’Zoth’s outer shell, avoids the attacks of the tentacles, and manages to plunge the blade into N’Zoth’s body.

N’Zoth’s eyes twitch painfully as the dagger begins to glow brighter. But instead of completely absorbing or defeating the old god, a small explosion occurs that knocks Wrathion back.
From the new rift created by the explosion emerges the next boss of the raid – Wrath of N’Zoth.
What has happened to the dagger is uncertain.
Where did Wrathion get the dagger? The dagger Xal’atath was given to Wrathion by Azshara herself. She is also in the Ny’alotha raid and is being held there. After the players “rescue” Azshara, she entrusts the dagger to the dragon.
Interestingly, the old god N’Zoth once ensured that the players received the dagger. So it would be possible that this whole thing is still part of his grand plan and one day we will realize what he actually intended.
An additional cinematic is expected after the final boss fight. Once N’Zoth the Corruptor has been defeated, we will show you the corresponding video.
How did you like the small cinematic? What do you think – what happens after the final battle against N’Zoth?
The developers of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare have revealed what is in the new update. A date is now known: It arrives tomorrow, on January 22.
Update January 22: The new patch 1.13 is here and requires a lot of storage space, although it does not contain any new maps or game modes.
What’s in the update? In a tweet, Senior Communications Manager Ashton Williams explained what the new update brings for Modern Warfare. According to the tweet, there will be:
A new weapon: The crossbow, which you can earn through challenges
What can the new crossbow do? According to the description in a now-deleted blog post, the crossbow is supposed to be a DMR that can kill opponents with a single shot. It was already featured as a weapon in previous installments, especially in the Black Ops series.
There were also variants of it with explosive arrows. It is quite possible that such variants will also be available in Modern Warfare, as many adjustments are possible through the Gunsmith feature.
A snippet from the deleted blog post.
In addition, crossbows are usually difficult or almost impossible to hear. They should therefore be well suited for a stealthy playstyle – completely without the use of silencers.
How do I get it? That the new crossbow is coming has been known since Infinity Ward also announced the extension of Season 1. The blog post also mentions how it should be obtained.
The required challenges apparently have something to do with sniper rifles or DMRs. The description is somewhat faulty, which is why it can be interpreted in two ways:
You either need a fully leveled DMR (or even all)
or you need certain challenges that are completed with DMRs.
This mode is what players want: With the announcement of the crossbow, some players are now also demanding a multiplayer mode to be brought back, which was already in Black Ops 2: Sticks and Stones. This is actually a party mode that, however, seems to have been quite popular.
In Sticks and Stones, you play a free-for-all match with six people with a limited weapon selection. Everyone starts with a crossbow, a throwing knife, and a tomahawk/battle axe.
The goal is to have the most points after time runs out. The crux of it is: If you are killed by an axe or your own explosive arrow, you lose all points.
Players had already discovered the crossbow in a poster in the game. Apparently, Modern Warfare has a knack for connecting stories and content:

What content is planned? The Early Access version does not yet offer all the content that Temtem will eventually have. Crema stated: “As for the content, 50% of the game content is already available, including the first 3 islands, 80+ Temtems, and over 20 hours of gameplay with the current campaign content.”
50% of the game content is available in Early Access.
When will Temtem be officially released? No exact release date has been provided by Temtem yet. Crema stated that Temtem will remain in Early Access until they believe it is ready for release.
However, the current plan indicates that Temtem is expected to be released in approximately the 2nd or 3rd quarter of 2021. So you will have to be patient.
What about the other platforms? The Early Access is currently only for PC. Switch, PS4, and Xbox will have to wait. It is likely that the consoles will only be able to start with the official release.
We took a closer look at Temtem and made a forecast on whether it can really become a hit:
Get the jersey out and lace up your soccer shoes, because Bandai Namco is firing up the nostalgia cannon: Captain Tsubasa is getting a real video game! And one might wonder: Why did it take so long?
This was announced today: Let this be said upfront – if you are primarily interested in realistic soccer simulations and/or have no nostalgic memories of Captain Tsubasa, then this is not your article.
However, if you were a big fan of Captain Tsubasa as a child, then today brought possibly the most surprising announcement ever. Because Captain Tsubasa is getting an updated video game with “Rise of New Champions” for PS4, Switch, and PC – just like that, out of nowhere. And it looks like it could actually do justice to the anime. At least, judging by the first trailer:

This is Captain Tsubasa: Captain Tsubasa is a manga and anime series revolving around the titular soccer player Tsubasa Ozora. To be precise, there have been several anime series. And it’s quite likely that you watched them as a child if you like soccer. The series follows Tsubasa on his journey from a soccer-playing child to a Japanese national player competing for the World Cup.
Is this just a normal soccer series? Short answer: No. After all, it is a classic anime that aired alongside Pokémon, One Piece, and Dragonball. Accordingly, the matches were a bit more unrealistic compared to FIFA. When Kojiro Hyuga fired his feared “Tiger Shot,” such a beast appeared in the background.
Missing in FIFA 20 for some reason: The Tiger Shot
The ball then flew towards the goalpost at about 1200 km/h, only to be caught with one hand. Meanwhile, players were shot out of their shoes with powerful shots, Tsubasa rushed around the field as part of the “Golden Duo,” or leaped into the air for a double bicycle kick. And when a player started dribbling, the field bent as if it were a globe. All things that are probably not seen in FIFA 20. After all, it wants to be realistic – well, most of the time.
The first real Tsubasa game in 10 years
What kind of game will this be? Not much is known yet about “Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions.” However, the trailer shows pretty much everything that made the series what it was. It is primarily supposed to deliver arcade soccer matches that you can play offline and online against your friends. Additionally, there will be a story mode.
This is how fans are reacting: The trailer looks like the game that Tsubasa fans have wished for years. Because apart from the occasional mobile offshoot, there hasn’t been much heard from Tsubasa in terms of games. Bandai Namco speaks of the first console release in 10 years.
Due to the silence around Tsubasa, some comments on YouTube under the trailer are accordingly surprised: “I thought Tsubasa would never get a real game and I would have to play Dream Team on my phone forever. Thank you, Bandai,” user Danté Walker-Brown happily remarks.
“That is as unexpected as it could be,” user Keiji Johnson finds. Overall, the comments are extremely positive: “My childhood can hardly wait,” says user Warp Luna. So it seems we will have to wait and see what comes of it. The game is set to be released in 2020 for PS4, PC, and the Nintendo Switch.
Maybe Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions is an option for this player who has had enough of FIFA:

A nasty bug has been causing trouble in Apex Legends for almost 2 weeks, locking out the best players of the game. However, the bug fix is taking time, as the developers explain.
Here’s what the bug is about: It is related to the new maximum level 500. Those who have reached this level can now be thrown out of the game and can no longer log in. The error message “Server Shutting down – Internal Server error” appears for affected players.
Here’s the situation regarding the bug: A few days ago, Respawn made it public that they have a fix for the bug and it’s ready. However, the fix seems to have no effect. Players are still being locked out.
Now the mood in the forums is negative. It’s particularly frustrating that the loyal players are affected. After all, one has to invest many hours in Apex Legends to reach the maximum level 500. The frustration is high when one cannot play one of their favorite games due to a silly bug.
This is what the developer revealed now: Under one of the numerous threads addressing this topic, developer Rayme Vinson stated: “I completely understand your frustration, but it is a high priority for us. This kind of thing is complicated and can easily be exacerbated. So it is being triple-checked. Hopefully, there will be good news soon, and you are right, it concerns some of the most active players! That’s just not right.”
The situation regarding the bug seems to be complicated and needs to be checked multiple times.
Affected players will probably have to wait a bit longer. They must continue to switch to accounts that are not yet at level 500.
Those reaching level 500 can be affected by the bug
When can a fix be expected? This is still completely unclear at the moment. It can be assumed that Respawn will implement the solution via a hotfix, as it affects the most active players. Another option would be to include the fix in the major Season 4 update, which is expected on February 4.
This player is likely not affected by the bug. He played Apex Legends on an airport monitor:
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare gives players a wide arsenal of weapons to fight against nasty Killstreak stoppers. With field upgrades, you can further develop your tactics, and one of the strongest upgrades is the special ammunition. Find out here what it does and which weapons benefit the most from it.
The fast-paced first-person shooter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare does not just hand soldiers firearms. There is heavy combat equipment through Killstreaks, nasty gear like knives and grenades, but also field upgrades that recharge automatically and provide good bonuses.
The field upgrade “Spezialmunition” (engl.: Stopping Power) provides you with more damage for your weapons, but also changes the caliber and thus the handling. Find out here how this special ammunition works and which weapons really take advantage of it.
The YouTuber and CoD analyst “TheXclusiveAce” took a closer look at “Stopping Power” and explains in one of his videos how the perk works and why some weapons benefit more from it than others.
Field upgrades can be very useful in certain situations.
Field upgrades recharge automatically and are worth it
How can I use special ammunition? This ability is part of the field upgrades that recharge automatically during a match and can then be used.
It does not matter if you get taken out. Once you have fully charged the upgrade, you can use it whenever you want. After that, the bar charges back up.
How long do the upgrades take to recharge? There are some powerful gadgets, all with different recharge times. You can reduce the time by scoring points, so by getting kills or completing mission objectives. Special ammunition takes the longest to fully recharge among all field upgrades.
How exactly does the perk work? When you activate the upgrade, you receive a magazine with bullets that have a larger caliber than the usual ammunition of the equipped weapon. This gives you more damage, but it also alters the recoil.
Effects of Special Ammunition:
You receive a magazine with larger caliber
This brings a maximum of 30 bullets that do not come from your bullet reserve
Damage is increased, depending on the weapon, the multiplier is x 1.3 up to x 2.0
The recoil is significantly increased. The green dots are without, the yellow ones are with special ammunition. Left is the Scar 17 and right is the AK-47. Source: Video by “TheXclusiveAce”
What else is there to know? If you fire a few rounds of the special ammo and then reload, the bullets are not lost but remain in the next magazine.
“TheXclusiveAce” found out that the damage of the weapons increases to the point where the weapons need one less bullet to score a kill. Weapons that could already get one-shots are excluded from this, just like the special case M13. More about that below.
Since special ammunition does not increase headshot damage, it can lead to the curious situation where body shots might do more damage than head hits.
Not all weapons benefit from the larger caliber.
Most weapons get stronger, but not all
Why are there differences? Each weapon has its own multiplier with special ammunition, so one less round is needed for a kill. This leads to significant differences, as you generally need more bullets with an SMG than, for example, with assault rifles.
Which weapons benefit the most? “TheXclusiveAce” recommends 3 assault rifles that become significantly stronger with a ammunition upgrade.
Oden – The weapon turns into a one-shot monster, and hits to the chest will take out the opponent immediately.
FAL – The semi-automatic weapon also achieves one-shot capability in the chest area.
M13 – The fast-firing assault rifle now requires 2 bullets less to kill at short distances, so only 3 instead of 5.
Note that these improvements only count for body shots. The Oden and FAL still require 2 headshot hits for a kill.
With this build, the Oden provides solid performance even without special ammunition.
What else is worthwhile but not so powerful? The following weapons also provide a bonus, but it is not as outstanding as with the weapons above.
All SMGs
Any pistol
Kilo-141
AK-47
M4A1
Scar 17
RAM-7
PKM
SA87
Holger 26
With Stopping Power, these weapons get stronger, but here you might prefer another field upgrade, like an ammunition box or an EMP drone.
Which weapons should I avoid using this? Then “TheXclusiveAce” has highlighted 2 weapons that you better not load with super ammunition.
MG 34 – The MG requires the same number of bullets for a kill with special ammo as without.
FR 5.56 – The rifle operates with a 3-shot mode, and if all bullets hit, a “burst” is enough for a kill. Stopping Power worsens the handling, and controlling the 3-round burst is much harder.
The FR 5.56 becomes too inaccurate with the stronger bullets. However, it performs well in hardcore mode and is considered one of the strongest weapons here.
Sniper rifles also benefit, but differently
While some assault rifles become one-shot weapons, sniper rifles do not necessarily need this boost. However, “TheXclusiveAce” presents one exception.
Which rifle has the advantage here? That is the EBR-14. The DMR usually requires a headshot for a kill, but with special ammunition, this one-shot range expands to the torso and gives the weapon a significant damage boost.
With reservations, “TheXclusiveAce” also recommends the lightweight sniper rifle Dragunov. The area for lethal hits is extended down to the stomach, making the weapon somewhat stronger.
The two lightest weapons in the sniper and DMR categories benefit the most from special ammunition. Source: Video by “TheXclusiveAce”
What about the other snipers and DMRs? With the MK-2 Carbine and the Kar98k, the bonus hardly provides any advantages. The Kar98k is not influenced at all, and the Carbine gets advantages at longer ranges, for which the field upgrade is hardly worth it. However, this could be interesting for the “Ground War” mode.
The full blooded snipers AX-50 and HDR, although they get a significantly larger one-shot range down to the knees. However, according to “TheXclusiveAce”, the kill zones are already large enough and an enhancement would be unnecessary. Check out our tips for snipers if you want to improve here.
AX-50 and HDR already have a large one-shot range. So, special ammunition is not necessarily worthwhile. Source: Video by “TheXclusiveAce”
When used correctly, special ammunition can be a powerful ally, providing you with extra ammunition and significantly strengthening the weapons for a limited time. So get out onto the battlefield and take down some opponents with unexpected one-shot shots.
Do you think special ammunition is strong, or do you prefer other field upgrades?
Patch 8.3 has brought many new features to World of Warcraft. However, our author Benedict finds most of them dull. But there is one new feature that has caught his interest. Unfortunately, he cannot play it as he wishes.
This is the feature I’m talking about: I’m referring to the Horrific Visions, which have been introduced in Patch 8.3: Visions of N’Zoth in World of Warcraft.
The new feature is really fun for me. Honestly, I haven’t enjoyed anything in WoW this much in a while as I have with these visions. Unfortunately, Blizzard doesn’t allow me to play them. At least not in the way and as often as I would like.
The New Horrific Visions in WoW
What kind of feature is this? The Horrific Visions show Orgrimmar or Stormwind as they would appear if N’Zoth’s dream of a Black Empire becomes reality. They sap our sanity and slowly drive us insane if we linger too long.
As a feature in WoW, they function as an instanced scenario that we can sign up for at Wrathion. The visions are divided into five areas:
The starting area, where the final boss awaits (drains 6 sanity per second)
Two “corrupted” zones with extra objectives (drain 8 sanity per second)
Two “lost” zones with extra objectives (drain 12 sanity per second)
Depending on how many zones we complete, we receive greater rewards – such as more Corrupted Mementos. Additionally, we can complete quests with Wrathion to upgrade the new legendary cloak. However, this can only be done a limited number of times per week.

Why is it limited? To enter the vision, we need a “Vessel of Horrific Visions.” This costs 10,000 Manifested Visions and is consumed upon entry.
And here’s the catch: One vessel is available weekly for completing N’Zoth’s assaults in Uldum or the Vale of Eternal Blossoms (changes weekly). Through the “small visions,” daily quests, rare mobs, and chests, we can get another 20,000 Manifested Visions with little grinding.
The “Visions of N’Zoth” also grant some Manifested Visions.
This results in three vessels per week – four if someone really grinds hard. Therefore, it’s only possible to complete the Horrific Visions a maximum of three (or four) times a week.
The reason seems clear: Blizzard does not want players to finish the content too quickly. It has to last until Shadowlands is released. However, I believe there is a huge flaw in this thinking.
Groundless limitation
Here’s why the limitation is groundless: The biggest fear likely is that if players do too many visions, they will upgrade the legendary cloak too quickly. But that is simply not possible.
The ability to upgrade the cloak is tied to quests from Wrathion. And only a certain number can be completed per week. At times, he even requires more items than can be obtained in visions per week.
So why is the game limiting me from running visions if I cannot even upgrade the cloak?
More than level 6 wasn’t possible this week anyway. Unless one exploited the bugs of Patch 8.3.
The only outcome currently is that hardcore players save their vessels and visions so they have as many vessels as possible when they need multiple items per quest and week for an upgrade. Nothing is gained from this.
Even the possible argument that players would simply optimize their runs to save vessels doesn’t hold. Players who want to improve are now watching YouTube videos or reading guides for the perfect run instead of playing themselves. That can hardly be the intention.
The limitation is an absurd decision
Here’s why the limitation bothers me: Personally, I am not concerned about upgrading my gear or cloak or earning anything. I simply enjoy the visions.
It is a new challenge, and I can prove how good I am. I can test and optimize myself, discover new routes and secrets. I wouldn’t need loot or rewards as an incentive.
Besides, our dream team in the heart chamber, consisting of Magni, MOTHER, and Wrathion, is very powerful. Why can’t they just give me a simulation? It would also be in their interest if I were more successful. I can understand now why Anduin first punched Wrathion.
Sometimes I feel like this too when I’m not allowed into a vision.
Suggestions for better visions
How could it be better? As I said, I actually wouldn’t need any further incentive to play the visions. I simply enjoy them.
Nonetheless, it would be easy to show that players are rewarded for their efforts. It doesn’t always have to be a gameplay-relevant upgrade for the endgame. Possible rewards for the visions could be – aside from the limited quest items – for example:
Transmog items, toys, or titles
Special skins for the legendary cloak (so that it at least looks like a “dragon”)
And even if the limitation isn’t completely lifted, why shouldn’t players be allowed to actively obtain new accesses? More sources for Manifested Visions for players who truly want to do more would hardly disturb anyone.
It used to work
How did it work in the past? In the past, there have already been examples of similar features and mechanics that worked as well. The best example is likely the Mage Tower from Legion.
The tower had two limitations: It was only available when it was activated beforehand and you had to pay an entrance fee. Toward the end, it became permanent.
The Mage Tower is a good example of how it can be done better.
However, the Horrific Visions can only be attempted every few days as well – just not as often as I want. Because the possible yield of Manifested Visions is also limited to a certain degree.
Admittedly, the Mage Tower only granted transmog rewards. But that would also be one of my suggestions for the Horrific Visions. I don’t understand why the fun is simply restricted here. However, maybe more playable content will arrive with Season 4:
Gameplay of Godfall leaked, the first PS5 game. The short leak could provide interesting insights into the performance of the PlayStation 5, the new console generation – at least that was the belief. Until the developers spoke up.
Initially, a leak appeared showing 7 seconds of gameplay from Godfall. However, there is now also a leak with the complete trailer, which provides interesting insights into the game and the upcoming console generation.
UPDATE 22.01.: The developers of Godfall have now commented on the leak and stated that it is not footage from the PS5. You can find out more here: No Next Gen: Leaked Godfall trailer not from PS5
See gameplay from the PlayStation 5 here
This is the clip: The video was shared on reddit and is supposedly a gameplay trailer from 2019. However, it was not released, and the leaker is now showing it:
Of course, one should view this leak with some caution. The reddit user claims to have this insider information, but there is no solid proof that the gameplay is indeed original.
This is what the video reveals: In the clip, sparks can be seen flying around, and the light effects appear strong and realistic.
The trailer does not provide a final conclusion about the performance of the PS5 and the content of Godfall, but it at least gives us a small insight.
The gameplay of Godfall resembles a bit of Devil May Cry, but traces of Destiny can also be seen. Already in the reveal trailer for Godfall, the connection to Destiny, but also to other games like Diablo was often drawn.

How are players reacting to the clip? Under the post on reddit the mood is good. The visuals look great, and anticipation for the new console is rising. However, there are also some concerns about Godfall. We show you some opinions:
Tmfwang: “They look great! Thanks for sharing.”
seth-nico: “The light and particle effects look so convincing.”
toozak: “The game looks super fun, but the problem with many of these loot games is a poor loot system and a lack of endgame. Hopefully, this is not an issue with this game.”
When is Godfall being released? The game is supposed to launch alongside the PlayStation 5. This is expected for the Christmas shopping season of 2020. So we can expect the game by the end of the year.

The developers of New World have revealed in a blog that the focus of the MMO has shifted significantly. In a statement, they even confirm that PvE now plays a larger role.
What is the statement about? In a community Q&A, Scot Lane, the Game Director of New World, talked about the development of PvP. He repeatedly mentioned PvE content as well.
One statement is particularly interesting. Lane confirms that New World is now focusing more on PvE than on PvP. He said at minute 1:04:
Overall, the game is now more balanced concerning PvE and PvP, probably with a slight tendency toward a PvE focus.

Why is the statement surprising? Originally, the focus of New World was completely on PvP. Anyone could fight in the open world, and the battles for the forts were supposed to be the highlight.
However, it now seems that the target audience has changed. Previously, we reported on MeinMMO that open-world PvP will only be optional. The statement reaffirms this change.
What PvE content is New World getting? New World aims to become an MMO where players can have fun without PvP. However, the PvE still sounds a bit underdeveloped:
There will be more enemies and exciting locations in the game world than during the Alpha.
There will be tough enemies comparable to world bosses that force players to band together in groups.
Guild quests and missions are planned for PvE.
Forts will be attacked in specific PvE events by the NPC faction “Corrupted” instead of players.
There will be a housing system that is interesting for both PvE and PvP players. The decorations will even contain functional buffs.
Will there be dungeons and raids? According to Scot Lane, there are currently no classic instances planned for New World. Instead, the focus is on finishing the other content first.
Dungeons and raids are not ruled out for the future, as he confirms in the video at minute 5:
We might add dungeons and raids; we talk a lot about it. But first, we want to make the existing content of the game accessible.
Then we’ll see what players want and which direction it should go.
When will we learn more about PvE? More details about PvE should be revealed before the beta release in April. The exact date is not known yet.
However, at the latest by the first tests, it will be clear whether the content of New World can convince or not.
The new Hearthstone adventure starts today. A total of 35 new cards are available, which can also be used in other modes.
Today, on January 21, 2020, a new adventure starts in Hearthstone. The solo adventure “Galakrond’s Awakening” concludes the story of Ü.B.E.L. and the Explorer’s League and also serves as the finale of the Awakening of Dragons. There will be a major showdown in Northrend. This will be celebrated with new cards that players can earn. A total of 35 new cards can be played.
How do you get the new cards? To obtain the new Hearthstone cards, you must purchase the expansion Galakrond’s Awakening and defeat the corresponding bosses. So it’s a rather classic adventure that offers additional card rewards.
You can buy the adventure for real money (€20) or with gold, costing 700 gold per chapter – so a total of 2,800 gold.
The adventure comes in 2 variants – there is a campaign for Ü.B.E.L. and one for the heroes of the Explorer’s League.
Galakrond’s Awakening brings 35 cards over 4 weeks
How will the cards be released? As usual, the adventure will not be released all at once, but in a total of 4 chapters, which will be unlocked weekly. All 35 cards can thus be played over the course of 4 weeks. The release dates for the chapters are as follows:
Chapter 1 – January 21
Chapter 2 – January 28
Chapter 3 – February 4
Chapter 4 – February 11
The release of the first chapter will thus take place today. Presumably in the evening hours between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM German time.
This time, a free chapter is only partially available – the “Ü.B.E.L.” part of chapter 1 is free, while the other half must be purchased. However, there are 3 bonus cards to lure you in.
What cards are included in the adventure? Blizzard has already previewed some of the new cards, which you can consider here.
Particularly exciting is the Chaos Seer. This curses an opponent’s card. The opponent must play this card in their next turn or discard it at the end of their turn. This could ruin some strategies. But the new hero card for mages (Reno) is also interesting, as it will clear some fields.
For Hearthstone players, four exciting weeks are approaching, during which the meta will likely be in constant flux. So if you want to experiment with new cards, you should dive into the adventure today.
Will you be playing Galakrond’s Awakening? Or have you set Hearthstone aside for now?
The year 2020 will bring significant changes for the Community Day in Pokémon GO. The reason for this is the missing Pokémon.
This is what the Community Day currently looks like: Since 2018, Niantic has been following the same pattern for the Community Day. First, a starter Pokémon is featured, followed by a special monster that is otherwise rare. They alternate monthly.
However, this could change in a few months. Niantic is simply running out of Pokémon.
How the Community Day could evolve
Here lies the problem: If Niantic stays true to this line, they will have a major issue by September: There will be no starter Pokémon left that they can feature in a Community Day. In March, May, and July, they would be featuring the starters from Gen 5, thereby exhausting all currently available starter Pokémon.
Ottaro, Serpifeu und Floink sind die Starter aus Gen 5, mehr Starter ohne Community Day gibt es aktuell nicht.
Generally, it’s questionable whether there will even be a Community Day with Serpifeu in March, considering that the Pokémon has only been available in the game since September 2019. Many trainers probably don’t even have enough candies for an evolution.
What about other Pokémon? According to Niantic’s rules, a strong Pokémon that is not a starter should be featured in February, April, June, and August. Ideally, it should have 2 evolutions and shouldn’t be available as a Shiny in the game yet. This has been the case for most Community Days so far. We have already arrived at Pokémon from Gen 4. Recently, Knacklion, the last potential candidate from Gen 3, got a Community Day.
There aren’t really any hot candidates for a Community Day from Gen 4. Kaumalat was a possibility, but it has surprisingly already been released as a Shiny in the game. Therefore, a Community Day would have to be held for a Pokémon that is already available in its shiny form.
Shiny Kaumalat is already in the game – Will there be another Community Day?
Other candidates include Koknodon or Schilterus, but both have only one evolution and would thus already fall a bit off the grid.
This is how the changes could look: It is a fact that Niantic must break some of their guidelines. Either there will be no starter Pokémon every two months, or they will regularly include Pokémon that do not have two evolutions. Both scenarios are conceivable. Changes will surely happen at the Community Day.
Another scenario would be that Niantic takes additional Pokémon from the first generations and gives them Community Days. Pokémon like Abra, Rihorn or even Hornliu have multiple evolutions and are not yet available as Shiny in the game. It would then need to be special moves or the Shinies that would motivate players to participate. The Pokémon itself likely wouldn’t attract many people outside.
With a poorly chosen or communicated reward, Destiny 2 ruins the grand finale of its coolest puzzle yet. Not much was needed for a worthy conclusion to the mammoth puzzle – even with the same reward.
What was the puzzle about? Many Guardians had been eagerly waiting for this: Yesterday, on January 20, the massive puzzle surrounding the mysterious symbols and codes in the Corridors of Time was solved. This unexpectedly came into play with the Weekly Reset on January 14 and kept thousands of players busy for a total of 6 days.
Many of these patterns make the big map (Source: KackisHD)
This is the largest and probably the most complex puzzle of Destiny 2 so far. It casts previous mysteries and the associated puzzles such as around the Perfected Outbreak, the Whisper quest, or even the notorious Niobe puzzle into the shadows.
This is how the last Destiny week went: Led by numerous well-known Destiny experts and streamers, many players diligently collected symbol combinations in the accompanying labyrinth. They matched these using programs, websites, and extensive data sheets, created a huge map from it, and ultimately cracked the mammoth task.

Poor reward – This is why the puzzle is disappointing in the end
How is the puzzle received? The puzzle itself is very well received by many players. On Reddit and in social media, the actual puzzle receives a lot of praise and acclaim. Many consider it the coolest puzzle feature that Destiny 2 has offered so far.
But the finale, or rather the reward, many were eagerly looking forward to, causes disappointment for many.
In the end, a theory came true, which many apparently wish in hindsight was not true. The reward was not the Vex Mythoclast from Destiny 1 that many hoped for or a widely suspected exotic sword – Guardians received the new exotic item “Chronometric Weapon Core”.
Bastion, an exotic fusion rifle for the primary slot.
Why is there criticism regarding the reward? And it’s precisely with this reward that Bungie is facing various criticisms. But why, actually?
The puzzle completely surprised the Guardians. It came unannounced out of nowhere and built significant suspense. Comparable puzzles ultimately brought back popular exotic returns from Destiny 1, and once again, many hoped for an unknown highlight for the ongoing Season 9.
However, the reward, namely the exotic quest and the corresponding weapon exotic Bastion, were already extensively known – even before the puzzle. The quest for Bastion was actually supposed to start according to the roadmap on January 28. The quest steps were largely already known through entries in the game data, just like the properties of the new weapon exotic itself.
Thus, the Guardians basically exerted tremendous effort and solved a huge new mystery, only to be confronted with something already known in the end. The expected big surprise completely failed to materialize, and nothing came of the exciting reward.
So the actual highlight of all the efforts was rather a disappointment and not an appropriate conclusion for a new puzzle of such caliber – this is the general sentiment of many fans.
The roadmap for Season 9
What was missing for the crowning conclusion?
This is the biggest problem of the puzzle: In the eyes of the players, not much was needed for a reconciliatory finale – basically just a small thing. Most critics are not even concerned with the quality of the new exotic quest or the Bastion itself.
Rather, it is about the fact that at the end of the exciting unknown something already known was waiting. It’s like going to a thrilling movie only to realize at the end that the whole finale was already seen in the trailer – and just the finale. It should be clear that this doesn’t feel particularly rewarding or satisfying.
The biggest problem, in the eyes of numerous players, is the communication. Bungie simply revealed too much beforehand.
This is what players wished for the perfect finale: Many would have been absolutely satisfied with the outcome of the puzzle, the new quest, and the new exotic if Bungie had simply communicated nothing about the Bastion, not mentioned it at a different (later) date on the roadmap. Just by that alone, the mood would be completely different now, many Guardians believe.
However, a hype was created in which players expected something different, something unknown, only to be bitterly disappointed with something “old” at the height of the built-up tension.
In short: Even if many are disappointed – the reward itself is not really disappointing. It was simply chosen poorly or rather communicated unfavorably beforehand. Had players heard nothing about the Bastion and its quest beforehand, many would simply have been excited about the coolest puzzle of Destiny 2, which finally led them to a truly completely new weapon exotic.
This is what it looks like in the Labyrinth of Time
Instead, the top-notch puzzle is now completely overshadowed by how disappointing the reward for 6 days of hard work and numerous sleepless nights is – even if it is actually about a completely new exotic.
Only a little more finesse could have created a completely different mood here.
What do you think? Would you have wished for a different ending – preferably without a previously known quest and reward? Or are you happy with the outcome of the puzzle and the reward?
By the way, the Bastion will be easier to get soon:
Fortnite Status did not explain why the zip lines were removed from the game. It was merely mentioned that they caused problems.
However, the reasons are likely the 3 exploits found by players. They offer the players clear advantages. Here are the exploits that were found:
1. Fast Teleportation
What is this exploit? The Twitch streamer Cloakzy found a trick on how to teleport directly to a zip line from a distance below it.
This way, one can easily overcome obstacles such as mountains, waterfalls, and hills. Movement is thus simplified and grants the player using it a clear advantage:
In this clip, you can see how the streamer Dakotaz tests the exploit under Cloakzy’s guidance:

What is this exploit? The Twitch streamer Cloakzy also found a method to land faster through the zip lines.
Anyone flying directly over a zip line can teleport from a distance to the zip line. This saves time compared to when the glider is opened and flies down.
This method speeds up the entire landing process and provides a clear advantage as you can land and loot much faster than other players.
In this clip, you can see how the streamer Cloakzy discovered this exploit:

What is this exploit? Players also found a way to use zip lines as destruction machines. By connecting to the zip line while standing in the water, they obtained destructive feet or could “glitch” under the map.
The affected player could then simply walk, and any object in their way would be destroyed. This clearly provides a strong advantage as they could destroy opponents’ buildings, taking away necessary protection.
In this video, you can see how this exploit works and what effects it has:

When will the zip lines return?
Fortnite Status confirmed in the Twitter post that zip lines will be reintroduced with the next update. However, it is not yet known when the next update will be implemented.
Anyone who still needed to complete the challenge “Use zip lines in different matches” can be happy. The challenge will automatically be completed.
What is certain is that these exploits will be fixed before the zip lines return to the game. They clearly provide a clear advantage and should not be used.
Stricter rules have now been introduced in Fortnite for tournaments to combat cheating:
