The space MMORPG EVE Online is currently plagued by DDOS attacks that could have a serious impact on the game.
This is why players are upset: In the past nine days, DDOS attacks have occurred on the US servers of EVE Online. These lead to chat being unusable and also cause lags, disconnects, and login problems.
Particularly the USA is affected by the attacks. In other regions, it is reportedly not as bad.
A precarious situation
Why is this such a big problem? DDOS attacks on MMORPGs happen from time to time. This can often be annoying, but in EVE Online, it can become a serious problem. This is due to the player-driven economy that alliances in the game depend on.
Those who do not have control over sales and offerings in the market can quickly fall behind. If this persists for too long, it can hit especially smaller alliances very hard. Their existence depends on reacting quickly to the market.
This is why the situation is even more complicated: As the DDOS attacks primarily affect the US servers, an imbalance has arisen that some players are currently exploiting.
Those who are not as affected by the attacks are now launching attacks on the alliances that are struggling under the DDOS attacks. The goal is to capture as much territory as quickly as possible before the servers are running smoothly again. As long as the attacks continue, the victims can hardly defend themselves properly. These players are thus profiting from the situation in a rather sneaky way.

Lord’s Servant, the co-leader of the Forsaken Empire, says: “We are currently fighting with an extreme handicap (to put it mildly) against an invasion in our region. We are unable to defend things properly or fend off enemy actions that are crucial at the start of a conflict. The enemies were able to establish themselves in our region within a week because we were largely unable to log in and contest things as we normally would.”
This is how the developers are reacting: CCP Games is aware of the situation and is working hard to get the game running smoothly again. However, the studio says that the situation is not really in the hands of the developers.

What about Steam? So far, Steam has not been mentioned as a platform. However, a hint has now emerged that seems to confirm that we will also be able to play the exciting online RPG PSO 2 via Valve’s platform.
What does this hint look like? The official handbook of Phantasy Star Online 2, which you can view on the game’s website, explicitly mentions Steam.
Specifically, the handbook explains how to start PSO 2 on Xbox One, under Windows 10, and via Steam. The instructions are quite simple and really self-explanatory.

Does this mean PS4 and Switch are also possible?
What is interesting about this? It is interesting that Steam has not been mentioned as a release platform so far and now appears so casually in the PSO 2 handbook. If Valve’s platform is explicitly mentioned with a start guide, it can be assumed that a Steam release is actually planned.
What could this mean? So if Microsoft is already planning to offer Phantasy Star Online 2 via Steam, it could mean that we might even expect a release on PS4 and Nintendo Switch. Because the online RPG is already available for those two platforms in Japan.

How much Fractaline do players still need to spend? It is impossible to say for sure how much more the Destiny players have to dig into their pockets. Although there are no official statements on this, some Guardians have made their own estimates.
If the required amount of Fractaline continues to increase in the manner of the first three tiers, we can expect these targets:
Tier 4 – 1.9 billion Fractaline
Tier 5 – 2.8 billion Fractaline

A teaser released yesterday on Twitter by “Call of Duty” shows the new operator “Ghost” and ends with the phrase “The War Rages On February 11”.
This could already be a clear hint at a continuation of something. However, the concrete and official statement from the developers that the Season starts on February 11 is still pending. The phrase may also mean something else and Season 2 could go live with a delay.
What does the last week of Season 1 bring us? The last week is packed! With the playlist update from Tuesday, February 4th, both full-throttle modes Shoothouse 24/7 and Shipment 24/7 began.
Several players have wished for both modes to be available simultaneously. As Shoothouse is slightly larger, it can be seen as a kind of “Shipment light”. Although there are still close-quarters battles, at least you don’t regularly spawn in the enemy’s line of fire.

More and more details about the new PlayStation 5 are coming to light. But one important thing is still missing: the price. It seems that they will let Microsoft take the lead – possibly to undercut them again.
Why is the price being withheld? On February 4th, Sony held the “Earnings Call“, where the financial situation of the third business quarter of 2019 was discussed.
In this, Sony’s Chief Financial Officer, Hiroki Totoki, was also asked about the topic of the PS5 and the price of the console. He revealed that the price depended on various factors. In addition to production and personnel costs, there is also another factor: competition.

Where do the infos come from? The Japanese alpha currently gives players an initial impression of the online game. So far, testers were under an NDA and were not allowed to talk about their gaming experience. However, the NDA was lifted on February 3rd. Now, first videos have appeared online and initial impressions are being shared.
What do the gameplay videos show? Blue Protocol looks visually very exciting in the videos. You really get the feeling of playing an anime. Especially the game world looks simply beautiful and invites exploration. Atmospherically, the action MMO can certainly impress.

Not much can be said about the quests yet, as the texts are all in Japanese. However, it does seem that we can expect rather standard fare here. The heroes set out from the town to fight monsters in the wilderness and gather resources.
In the dungeons, even more enemies lie in wait for the players, and there are even boss fights. Blue Protocol currently gives the impression of being very grind-heavy, like other Asian MMORPGs.
Interestingly, each character has some sort of self-healing. Therefore, the focus is on action-packed and fast battles rather than on taking specific roles in a team like healer or tank. Essentially, everyone seems to be a damage dealer. However, the fast battles look very exciting and spectacular. Thus, Blue Protocol seems to be more of an action MMO than a classic MMORPG.

What do the testers think of Blue Protocol? Opinions are a bit divided. The graphics and atmosphere are praised, but especially the rather generic gameplay seems to bother some.
VectoredStar says on reddit: “I snuck into the Japanese alpha and the game reminded me of Dragon Nest in terms of dungeons, mixed with a large world full of monsters and the FATE system from Final Fantasy XIV. The music was decent, the skill system is quite simplified.”
GodiFiorenza writes quite negatively: “The gameplay is rather simple. Animations look bad, the AI is not good and seems to offer no challenge.”
JagoKestral believes: “It feels like a JRPG that is also an MMO. It reminds me a bit of the .Hack games that I loved in my childhood.”
Patch 8.3 of WoW faced a lot of criticism. However, the longer you engage with the patch, the more advantages you notice – at least that’s what Cortyn thinks.
If you take a step back from the outcry that Battle for Azeroth is completely unsuitable for Twinks, your opinion changes quickly. I have recently pulled out my Demon Hunter again and am currently gearing him for Mythic+, so that he can at least complete a 6 or 7 key in time next week.
He already has some essences at rank 2 or even rank 3, and the Heart of Azeroth is expected to reach level 75 tomorrow to unlock the last essence slot.
For a Twink, into which I invest no more than a few minutes each day – or sometimes do not touch at all – I find that acceptable.
Okay, okay. Before someone angrily types their comment and says that I have no idea, listen to me. The answer is quite simple. Because there is relatively little to do in Patch 8.3 that is considered truly “necessary”, there is much more time for Twinks or alternate characters.
When I log in with my priest, my main character, and check off the absolutely necessary “mandatory program”, it takes me about 45 minutes, perhaps a bit longer on a Saturday and Wednesday due to the new “invasion quest”. This currently includes the daily quests in both areas and the small vision, which I also see as similar to a daily quest in terms of effort.
However, if I am revered with both factions, this effort drops to maybe 5-10 minutes, as I then only need the small visions at most.
Additionally, there are 2-4 times a week the play of a big vision, which has been massively nerfed for healers and tanks, and maybe another evening planned for “Mythic+” dungeons. Then you are done with the “mandatory program”. Sure, this time can still be increased significantly if you raid actively, enjoy playing PvP, or collect achievements. But that is a conscious decision to pursue these contents with more intensity.
It is clear that Blizzard did not initially plan for how little time a single character actually needs. That of the nearly 100 rare enemies, only about 10 have special loot is a bad joke. But it also relieves me enormously from my collecting mania, not having to check at least two dozen rare mobs every day to obtain the last toy. That nearly drove me crazy in Mechagon and Nazjatar.
After a good hour on my priest, I have time for alternate characters and can slowly but surely catch up with my Demon Hunter. Even during questing, there are three essences, so there is at least a solid “starter kit” available to not be completely useless.
Conclusion – Because Patch 8.3 offers little, Twinks are worth it again
In summary, I find Patch 8.3 much more “twink-friendly” than it may appear at first glance. This is mainly because there is relatively little to do per character, making it easy to play multiple characters at an acceptable level.
At least a second character can also be played without a significant time investment and can quickly be made suitable for tougher content. Sure, it won’t have the “optimal” essences and will be just as strong as the main character – but then it wouldn’t be a Twink, right?
Patch 8.3 has relatively little content and also very little that is truly mandatory. This makes the patch and the long drought that awaits us until the release of Shadowlands the perfect time for Twinks. Because if you look at it soberly, Patch 8.3 does not make the game too unfriendly for Twinks.
For the first time in Battle for Azeroth, it feels like I have the time to play Twinks without feeling guilty for my main and gradually gear up the classes. With a few tips, leveling can also go quickly. Who would have thought that such a content-thin patch is exactly what makes me play more than before.
The new event “Empyrean Foundation” has started in Destiny 2. However, not everyone can participate at the moment, as some players lack the corresponding starter quest from Saint-14. This is the reasonand here’s how you solve the problem.
What is the event about? On February 4th, the Empyrean Foundation started in Destiny 2 – a new event of the Season 9, where the community is supposed to rebuild something great together in a joint effort.
What is the problem with the Empyrean Foundation? Before you can properly start donating for the rebuild, you need to complete a short quest. You normally receive this from Saint-14, the 14th Saint in the Tower. However, not every player had the quest displayed after the event started.
Some players (including myself) were quite desperate about this. Many had rescued Saint-14, retrieved the Bastion, leveled all Obelisks to maximum level, mastered the Sundial activity on all available difficulty levels, accumulated several thousand units of Fractaline – and still no sign of the quest.
Even restarts and even reinstallations did not help. Saint still only had his regular bounties available.
This is apparently the reason: Some time later, players discovered what it obviously relates to. The reason for the missing Foundation quest is another quest from Saint-14 – namely Tribute to the Colonies. This sends you on a multi-step mission on behalf of Saint through the solar system to commemorate the losses of humanity.
Here’s how to get the starter quest: This very quest is still unfinished and dusty in the inventory of some players, but it needs to be completed. Only then will Saint-14 provide you with the new Foundation quest with which you can start the new event.
You can recognize the quest (no matter which step you are currently on) in your inventory by its distinctive symbol:
What does Bungie say? Bungie has also commented on this matter in the official forum. According to the studio, it seems that in addition to the Colony quest, you also need to rescue Saint-14 to access the new event quest:

What do we know about the new Season 2? Officially, we only know that Season 2 will include a new Battle Pass. The exact contents have not been disclosed so far.
In Escape from Tarkov, a large part of the progress comes from the inventory and the player’s balance. The game requires planned and regular wipes to stay exciting, at least according to our author Maik.
If you have ever run a raid in Escape from Tarkov, you know how nasty the hardcore shooter can be. The first round usually ends with a short scream, followed by the menu music and confusion about where the shots came from.
What makes Tarkov so special? Once the initial bravado wears off, the “gear fear” sets in, meaning the legitimate fear for your stuff. Because in every round you start a raid with your PMC, you can lose all your gear.
This feeling creates the tension and thrill. Knowing that you’re just seconds away from a lethal shot, but never exactly knowing what will actually happen next.
Many things can happen on the way to the extraction point.
Gameplay fades – Regular wipes could solve the problem
This is the problem: When the gear fear subsides, the fun of the game also fades away. If you can equip a whole company with your weapons and your rubles are enough for a spacious 5-room apartment in the heart of Moscow, then the hardcore shooter loses its appeal.
I believe that EFT definitely needs a regular and well-planned gear reset.
Since the launch over 3 years ago, there have been wipes after updates from time to time, but the regularity is lacking. Recently, the next reset was announced in the official EFT forum, but that is still several months away, possibly even until summer.
With routine resets, the developers could kill multiple birds with one stone.
How would the shooter benefit from planned resets? There are even several aspects that support regular wipes.

Regular pre-wipe events could bring back lapsed players
Not only hostile players, but also NPC bosses make survival difficult.
Gear fear returns
This is the situation: Players who have been around for a long time have their inventory filled with bags, boxes, and other containers. All filled with ammunition, meds, weapons, and anything else needed to deal with their aggressive teammates.
Eventually, the point comes where the fear for your stuff subsides. When it no longer hurts to repurchase your favorite loadout at the flea market or with the traders, the thrill is lost.
How could veterans benefit from planned wipes? The planned resets could be summarized in a roadmap with events or new content, and hardcore players would know exactly what to expect during the “season”.
With each reset, the gear fear would also return, possibly even worse than before. Cosmetic rewards at the end of a “season” could be possible, like masks or weapon skins. And who doesn’t want to lose the fancy scarf they worked so hard for?
At the start, you hardly have anything that can effectively fight against well-equipped PMCs. Here are some tips for beginners.
Level of equipment decreases
This is the situation: The longer it has been since the last reset, the better equipped players generally are. For all who work with insurances, this sounds pretty good. This way, the chance of your stuff remaining and coming back is higher.
But for new players trying to drag their looted Scav vest with 3 bandages and 12 rounds of ammunition towards the exit, fully-equipped players are death, at least in-game.
How would players benefit from the lower equipment level? The hunt begins anew and everyone is back on a similar level. This would make it significantly easier for new players to hold their own against other raiders.
For veterans, looting would then make sense again, as every weapon could improve their gear, and there would again be too few rubles lying around in their inventory.
The player base would continually draw closer together in their progression, and the difference between beginner and veteran wouldn’t be as stark as after half a year without a reset.
After a few dozen raids on the Customs map, your inventory will look much better.
Selling in-game items gets hindered
This is the situation: Handing over or trading items is not a problem in Escape from Tarkov, but safely extracting them is. However, this does not stop players from buying rubles for real money on eBay or less reputable platforms.
Selling in-game items for real money is banned in many games, including EFT. However, there are many offers where you can buy rubles, keys, or even the red keycard.
Why could EFT become fairer through resets? Survivors will think twice about whether they really want to spend real money on items and thus gain an unfair advantage.
Because when you know that a wipe is imminent and when, these items really only have value for that time. After that, the overpriced €50 keycard is gone again.
Gradually, your inventory and balance will fill up, allowing you to buy everything you need. For example, good ammunition.
Events before the reset
This is the situation: There have been pre-wipe events in the past where, for example, prices at the traders were reduced or special enemies roamed the maps.
Shortly before a reset, players will approach the game with a different mentality and are likely to take a bit more risk. In such phases, survivors are often willing to try something new.
How could Tarkov benefit from events? Regular pre-wipe events could lure back more lapsed players, as relaxed or altered gameplay elements or special rewards await.
If there are rewards, they could be carried over into the next “season”. This would also enhance the gear fear again.
If you can afford everything, the gear fear sadly disappears. With regular wipes, this “kick” could return.
Wipes should become an important part of Tarkov
It’s always difficult to give up something you’ve learned to appreciate. Especially when it comes to millions of rubles in Escape from Tarkov. Having a lot can also be really nice, but if the game loses its thrill and I don’t touch it anymore, I’ve still lost.
I think EFT urgently needs well-communicated, regular gear resets to stay exciting. This way, players can adjust to the length of the “season” and know what to expect.
As the game is still in closed beta and an end to this phase is not in sight, we will see how Tarkov will ultimately handle wipes. In the meantime, I’ll keep saving for my apartment in Moscow.

In the MMO Temtem, you have to catch and train monsters. Similar to Pokémon, a level system is used. Here are some tips on how to train your Temtem quickly.
What is the point of leveling in Temtem? In Temtem, you can strengthen your monsters by training them. With each level, the stats of the many different Temtem improve. However, this is not the only purpose of leveling.
As in Pokémon, many Temtem have further evolution stages that you can reach through leveling up. However, unlike Pokémon, there are no fixed levels at which your Temtem evolve. Temtem require a certain number of level-ups in your possession to evolve.
The Temtem Platypet
This means: A Platypet, for example, needs 20 additional levels to evolve into Platox. It does not matter at what level the Platypet was originally.
To help you quickly strengthen and evolve your Temtem, we have some tips for you.
1. Choose a Challenge
The right opponent is so important: Basically, your Temtem improve mainly in battle. This means: The more fights your Temtem win, the faster they level up.
However, it is important that you do not let your Temtem fight against just anyone. Because: The higher the challenge, the greater the XP gain.
So, when leveling up, primarily look for opponents that are at least the same level as the Temtem you want to improve. It goes even faster if the opponent has a slightly higher level – and even faster, the greater the level difference is.
Battles make your Temtem stronger
The problem is that especially strong opponents will wipe the floor with your Temtem if there is too much of a level difference. However, if you choose the right types and focus on synergies, even weak Temtem can endure in battle for a long time.
This task is somewhat harder, but it is definitely worth it regarding the training effect compared to simply defeating rows of weak opponents.
Use Dojo Opponents: A particularly strong challenge comes from the Dojo opponents. They are often the ones that make leveling up necessary. However, if you consistently fail against the same opponent, it can still be worthwhile to continue facing him in the Dojo rather than training outside of it.
Because challenges like these can give you the necessary XP – but only if you don’t go down right after the first attack. So weigh how much benefit a tough fight can bring you before you go back into the wild to continue training.

These items will help you: In the game, there are many items, two of which can particularly help you level up. The first is the Cowards Cloak or Coward’s Cloak.
It works similarly to the XP Share from the Pokémon games. You equip one of your Temtem with the cloak. Now, it also receives a share of the XP from every battle you complete – even if it does not participate in the fight.
This way, you can level up weak Temtem that would quickly go down in battle without having to send them into battle. How to obtain the Cowards Cloak can be found out here:
How Lure helps you: The second item for leveling is the item “Lure,” which you get from Tarlae in Omninesia. This is a bait that you can give to your Temtem to hold. The effect: Wild Temtem will only attack the monster holding the bait. You can use this to your advantage.
Because if you give Lure to one of your strong Temtem, all attacks will target it. If you place a weaker Temtem next to it, this one can participate in the fight without the risk of being defeated immediately, even when fighting stronger Temtem. In the end, it can grab a lot of XP at the end of the battle as long as your stronger Temtem can withstand the opponent’s attacks.
If you use Temtem like Nessla, which have self-healing abilities, you can utilize Lure even better.

3. Use the Level Cap in the Right Places
Who is this method for? This method is aimed primarily at players who have already completed the story and are primarily working on improving their Temtem. Here, Temtem are used that have already reached the maximum level.
Where is the Level Cap? In the currently ongoing Early Access, the maximum level is 48. Temtem at this level no longer gain XP in battle – monsters that you send into battle with them do, however.
This place is worth leveling up: In Temtem, there are some places suitable for level farming. However, the YouTuber “TheGamePiece” has found one that seems particularly worthwhile.
You need to start the quest “Cultist Hunt” in the west of Tucmas. Then head over to the east side of the map, where you will encounter several cultists that you must defeat with Crystal Temtem.
After completing the quest, you can enter an area where you will encounter wild, very strong Zenoreth. The trick: These monsters primarily use the attack “Madness Buff,” which improves their stats but also drains their health. In double battles, they also hinder each other.
