What is happening today in Fortnite? The update 11.50 will be deployed today on all platforms. Fortnite Status announced the patch on Twitter.
Update 12:20 PM: The update 11.50 is now available. You can find all changes in the German patch notes.
We may expect a larger update since the Chaos Engine is set to be introduced for testing. Additionally, Epic announced a 2-week event.
Before players can embark on their exploration, as usual, the servers will be taken down.
Fortnite servers will be taken down – when and for how long?
Downtime starts in the morning: At 9:30 AM German time, you may join a new lobby for the last time. At 10 AM, the servers will no longer be accessible and Fortnite will be down.
How long will the maintenance work take? Based on experiences from the last weeks and months, the work should be completed around lunchtime.
Technical issues or other delays could extend the maintenance work. If this happens, you will be informed here.

What new content does update 11.50 bring?
What new features will there be in the Battle Royale mode? Fortnite Status did not provide any hints in the tweet about what the update might bring. However, the following changes are expected:
- Additional Overtime Challenges, where you can unlock style variants for the Battle Pass skins (such as the variants for Glibber, 8-Ball, and Chic)
- Switch to Physics System “Chaos” of the Unreal Engine
- 2-week event, where a crossover with the film Birds of Prey is suspected (possibly with a “Harley Quinn” skin)

What does the update bring for the Save the World mode? Players have been waiting for the final locker feature that is supposed to be available in Save the World.
This will allow you to use the locker from the Battle Royale mode and customize your hero with the cosmetics you own. It remains to be seen whether with update 11.50, you can finally make full use of the locker.
