Pokémon GO is currently testing two event series: The Spotlight Hour and the Bonus Hour. However, for our author Noah, only one of the events actually has potential.
What it’s about: Since early February, both events have been held once a week. So far, they have taken place twice. The following content is part of the events:
Spotlight Hour: A Pokémon appears significantly more often for one hour – always with a shiny chance so far.
Bonus Hour: For one hour, there is a special bonus that is active.
Both events were explicitly released as test events. They want to pay attention to player feedback and adjust or even completely eliminate the events.
What I like about the Spotlight Hour: This event feels like a small community day. I think it’s fantastic that you get the chance to hunt a special Pokémon once a week.
I didn’t need either Onix or Spoink as shiny, since I have enough of them. But I think the basic idea is great. Maybe I will be lucky next week and a Pokémon that I have been waiting for as shiny will appear, giving me another chance.
I also like that you don’t know beforehand which Pokémon you will find. That increases the surprise factor and actually offers a lot of variety.
While the spawn rate was manageable in the first week, Niantic significantly increased it in the second week. Almost every Pokémon was Spoink, and you could really go on a shiny hunt. This also shows that Niantic listens to trainer feedback and makes adjustments. The low spawn rate had been criticized after the first week.

I see a lot of potential here: While the Raid Hour every Wednesday always brings the same Pokémon into the raids that can already be found, the Spotlight Hour is completely varied.
You could give each shiny such an event and be busy for weeks. If Onix comes into the spotlight again after a year, that’s completely fine.
The Spotlight Hour could actually enrich playing every week. I would be happy if Niantic keeps this series going.
The Bonus Hour is unnecessary
What I really dislike about the Bonus Hour: To fully utilize a bonus, one hour is not enough. The bonuses are quite small. And even if you make full use of the hour, the gain is hardly noticeable.
The bonus with double raid XP this week is also totally unnecessary. Just a day earlier, there was a raid hour where you should have utilized such a bonus well. One day later, you should raid just as much – and without boosts? That makes no sense to me.

What can be said in its favor: Sure, double stardust is always nice and even in just one hour, one cannot complain about that. If you continue to choose such bonuses, then the event is by no means a waste of time.
What I would wish for: It’s just that you don’t win much by playing. This calls for a much more extreme bonus. How about quintuple stardust?
I would really be up for that, and even in the rain, it would get me outside. Because even if you give it your all for the hour, you don’t earn enough stardust in the end to distort the whole game experience.
That’s why I see no future in the Bonus Hour: Several factors play a role here. Partly bonuses that are not well thought out, too little time, and the expectation that the same bonuses will come in the long run. For me, the Bonus Hour is simply not a reason to go outside.
The criticism from many players supports this. There is hardly anything good to read about the double raid XP here. If Niantic does not take this criticism to heart, the Bonus Hour will likely not last long in this state.
Too many events in the evening hours?
This is becoming evident in February: If you look at the events in February, one thing stands out: The big events always take place on the weekends. During the week, there are hourly event series on 3 days.
A lot is happening in Pokémon GO in February
Too much to do in Pokémon GO? Recently, there has often been criticism that there are simply too many events in the evenings during the week. Of course, it’s nice that there’s something to do, but the events do bind you somewhat. For example, Julian K. said on our Facebook page about Pokémon GO: “I think it’s somehow exaggerated that there must be such an event three times a week. Who has 24/7 time to participate in every event…”
I personally see it differently. Of course, such events are already a reason to go outside, but if I have something else to do, I do that too.
However, I would also be perfectly fine if two evening events take place each week. The raid hour is a good start and for me, the Spotlight Hour on Tuesday would be completely sufficient. In return, I would also be happy about events that last a whole week.
Lastly, I haven’t said nice things about Pokémon GO:

The horror game P.T. has a special history. It was an interactive teaser demo for the game Silent Hills, which was later canceled. The demo was later removed by Konami from the store, which drew significant criticism from fans.

A bit of loot luck plays a significant role in how quickly you can assemble this or other builds in Wolcen.

How to use the Mage build in Wolcen
The entire build is based on the 3 main skills. You start with the Plague Burst, which you simply cast into a group of enemies. Then you use the Anomaly to deal damage to the enemies and keep them in the Plague Burst. You then deal the main damage with the Endless Blades and watch your enemies explode in the plague.
Use Tear of Etheliel when the enemy has more health points. This would be elite groups or bosses. Light-Bringer is your “Oh Shit” button. Use the skill to quickly get out of a dangerous situation and heal a bit.

The “I hunt monsters and kill them” game Monster Hunter World was a huge success for Capcom in 2018. They have now revealed sales figures and disclosed how many players purchased the major expansion Iceborne in 2019. Additionally, the list shows what the 20 top-sellers from Capcom actually are.
Here are the sales figures for MHW: Capcom has now published a list of the 20 best-selling games in the studio’s history. This list is as of December 31, 2019:
At number one on the list is Monster Hunter World with 14.9 million units sold
At number 18, you will find Monster Hunter World: Iceborne with 3.2 million units sold
This means that 21.4% of the players who own Monster Hunter World have also purchased the expansion by the end of 2019.
Iceborne sales figures are likely even higher thanks to Steam
Important to note: By the end of December 2019, only the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Monster Hunter World: Iceborne had been released. The PC version of Iceborne was only released on Steam in January 2020.

A bug/exploit has been a hot topic in the community of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare in recent hours. The developers responded quickly and fixed the issue.
What was the bug? Recently, CoD: MW was updated with Update 1.14 which was needed for Season 2. This update introduced a feature for regiments, essentially a clan system, into the game. Players could now change the color of the clan tags to their preference.
What was the problem? Due to a setting, it was possible to also color the displayed player name. This could make it appear blue all the time.
This meant that your opponents who exploited this could be seen with a blue name, making it easy to confuse them with allies. The bug turned enemies into friends.
For the community, this was a “gamebreaking bug” that quickly gained a lot of attention on Reddit.

How the developers responded: About three hours after this post was made on Reddit, Paul_Haile from Infinity Ward responded in the comments. In his reply, he agreed with a user that this is a gamebreaking bug that should be fixed immediately with a hotfix and added: “We are on it.”
Just under three hours later, he responded again in the comments on Reddit saying that it was indeed a bug. The ability for players to color their names was not intended. They wanted to ensure that clan tags exploiting this would be corrected and also announced additional protective measures so that regiments with invalid characters could not be created further.
It became clear that Infinity Ward recognized the negative impacts of this exploit and acted immediately instead of waiting until after the weekend. In just a few hours, they had devised a solution and implemented it. This doesn’t happen so smoothly in every game.

Xbox One S: Entry-level, 4K with Limitations
The Xbox One S represents the upgrade to the first Xbox One. It provides enough power for all games in Full-HD resolution. All games released for Microsoft’s console are always compatible with both S and X.
It cannot handle native 4K; instead, it upscales the pixels. The Xbox One X uses the same trick but has significantly fewer issues with native 4K. The Xbox One S can easily play movies with the built-in 4K UHD player, and HDR is also supported.

Xbox One X: High-end Gaming, 4K and Future-proof
The Xbox One X offers significantly more power than the weaker S version. However, it is also larger and heavier.

What is happening with the player count? Wolcen is currently exploding on Steam:
Wolcen has been playable on Valve’s platform since March 2016 – the highest peak of simultaneous players occurred in March 2019, with 1934 players online at the same time.
Now, with the game released, Wolcen had 95,720 players at its peak. That’s almost 50 times more. This peak was reached last night on Steam.

What about the Steam reviews? It’s exactly the opposite:
Prior to release, Wolcen was playable in Early Access. There, players could only try out the first act. On Thursday the Steam reviews were still at a fabulous 93% in the “last 30 days”
Today, on Saturday, the current Steam reviews are only at 69%. Wolcen has thus lost 24 percentage points in 2 days. That’s dropped from “Very Positive” to “Mixed”.
Many Steam users rating negatively now say that Wolcen doesn’t seem ready for release and that testing should take a few more months.
However, there are also people who have given positive reviews since the Steam launch. They say “Never Play on Release Day!” – you have to give the developers time to fix bugs and issues. They have already had several hours of fun in the game.
This is MeinMMO’s experience: I have spent 4 hours in Wolcen since release:
On the first day, at release, I could only play in offline mode because online was completely down. I noticed the “unreachable enemies,” which I found annoying, but Wolcen was playable.
This is what my offline character looked like after about 2 hours.
On day 2, I played exactly the same online as I did the day before, just with a different focus: Wolcen doesn’t have typical classes, but different specializations.
The “unreachable enemies” were already rarer on Friday, but I encountered an invisible wall that I could overcome. I then crashed out of the game around 11 PM due to a hotfix, but until then, I had my fun.
In the short time I spent in Act 1 of Wolcen, I did not encounter any further bugs. However, when I wanted to check the game earlier to take screenshots of my online character, the servers were down again.
It seems to be a rocky release, given such a strong influx of players.
Update 16.2.: There are major server issues during the launch weekend of Wolcen. The servers have been offline for over 30 hours for maintenance.
Two small Twitch streamers teamed up with a 9-year-old to reach the rank “Legend” in Destiny 2, the highest PvP rank. The hardest part was not carrying the boy, but not cursing.

9-Year-Old Proves to Be Polite, Respectful, and a Good Player
Here was the experience: Fallout Plays said the boy was surprisingly good. Often, such young Guardians are inexperienced or a bit uncoordinated, but CJ was great. In some games, he even ended up in 1st place on the leaderboard.

What are the Lost? The core of all conflicts in Aeternum is the mineral Azoth, which grants immortality. The Lost have managed to achieve immortality, but at the cost of their souls.
They are the classic undead that one knows from many other games: Zombies, Ghouls, Water corpses. Most of them were once humans who died a cruel death.

The Ancients managed to harness the power of the mineral Azoth. They used it to power their technology. However, upon your arrival on the island, they seem to have been missing for a long time. No one knows what happened to them or why they disappeared.
In the video, the Ancients are listed as one of the types of enemies, so it is quite possible that they will return one day. In the meantime, you can explore their secrets peacefully.
The ruins of the Ancients are scattered all over the island.
Who are the Corrupted? The world of Aeternum fights back against intruders not only in the form of Angry Earth, but also through the Corrupted.
The mineral Azoth has the power to amplify all life forms on the island. It also intensifies the greed for immortality, corrupting everything around it. And these corrupted beings are not willing to share.
When players take over certain areas in Aeternum and even build large settlements there, the Corrupted will take notice. For example, they will try to open their portals nearby to teleport more of their kind into the players’ territory and attack them.

The first MMORPG holds a special place in the hearts of many players. It is where many experiences are encountered for the first time, discovering a world mostly without prior knowledge and diving into a large, unknown game.
There are a number of experiences that players associate with their first MMORPG. We have compiled 5 things that you (probably) only experienced in your first MMORPG.
1. Learning a new language
If you have never played an MMORPG before and then dive into one of many fantasy worlds, you might wonder on most servers if you accidentally chose the wrong language. A glance into the chat reveals cryptic messages like:
“lf 2 dps range only strat baron run”
“wts mana pot 10s /w me”
Even when you find a group that apparently speaks your language, there can still be communication problems. What the hell are mobs? Is aggro something different than a rapper term? And didn’t you do a “body pull” somewhere in the gym before?
This is how much you understand in the first MMORPG.
Many will now shake their heads and think, “Oh, you just know that!” But why exactly do we know that? Right, because we had to learn it in our first MMORPG.
MMORPG players speak their own language, which quickly becomes second nature. Many terms can also be transferred to other games, but the vocabulary in extensive games, which MMORPGs usually are, is significantly larger.
2. Noob and no problem with it
When you take your first step into an MMORPG, the preparation is usually minimal. Maybe the game was recommended by a friend, you read a report, or you just became curious about what all those ads on YouTube are about.
Especially veterans from the vanilla version of World of Warcraft are likely to remember this. Back then, many players were inexperienced with MMORPGs, as WoW lured many new players into the genre.
It was no problem for a warrior at level 30 to still wear leather pants because intelligence surely has some use. Hardly anyone found it strange if a warlock walked around with a dagger that gave him agility. That a hunter helps in melee in a dungeon because the arrows ran out was “logical” and not “stupidity for not being prepared”.
This calmness is something many players only have in their first MMORPG because they are still amateurs and not only exploring a new game world but a completely new genre.
In every other game, you go in with prior knowledge, are familiar with the basic mechanics, and understand the connections between events in an MMO better. No matter how hard you try to avoid it – none of us can approach the second MMORPG as naïvely as we did the first.
Hand on heart. Who hasn’t made a transaction in the auction house of their first MMORPG that they regretted just a few minutes or hours later? Who hasn’t been ripped off by the price of an item they desperately needed for a quest?
I still remember buying a bronze tube for some goofball quest for nearly 70 silver only to hear an hour later that a guildmate had 20 of those things lying around and that they only cost 3 silver to produce.
People smile, nod, and curse the corresponding quest NPC again and again as they walk by.
Such small mistakes are still bearable. But if you spend a large sum of in-game money on something you don’t actually need or confuse a decimal point in the price, you can lose the earned money from hours or days with just one click.
In all upcoming MMORPGs, you won’t make such a mistake again. In general, you are then the person who wants to rip others off with overpriced items…
4. The latent addiction to return
As with almost everything you experience for the first time, MMORPGs take up a significant space and anchor themselves deep in your memories.
The best example of this was provided by World of Warcraft with “WoW Classic” last year. Despite extensive preparation by the developers, they could hardly keep up with the influx of players. Hundreds of thousands of players wanted to return to the “old” World of Warcraft to experience their first hours again and lose themselves once more in the world that was their entry into MMORPGs.
The same goes for more recent MMORPGs. If you first dove into the genre with SWTOR, with each expansion you feel the urge to check back in, even if it’s just for a few weeks. This happens to WoW veterans, but also to fans of Final Fantasy or any other MMORPG that has been around for more than a few years.
This feeling will linger, by the way. While most of us have that moment when we say, “That’s it, I’m finally turning my back on XYZ!” – two years later, the urge is too great and we change our minds.
5. Friendships that last long
The last point is certainly up for discussion and is based on my personal experience and that of my surroundings, which may not reflect 100% of everyone.
But in my opinion, you make a lot more friendships in your first MMORPG that last for years or even decades. I still have a lot of contact with players I met back then through World of Warcraft. With later titles like SWTOR, Age of Conan, or SWTOR, this is only applicable to a lesser extent.
I can’t even pinpoint exactly what it is and conclude that it is a mixture of all the previous points. Because being a “noob” in the first MMORPG requires you to rely on the help of other players. Together by their side, you learn the game, get things explained, or explore the game world.
In later MMORPGs, with more experience, you may be more goal-oriented, have a shorter fuse, and consequently are less likely to be with other players in a group who think similarly. This is not necessarily conducive to a social structure.

In my thoughts: Wow, it seems the person responsible for the Twitter account at Epic Games forgot to log out. They liked a video and didn’t realize that now 9.8 million Fortnite followers see what videos they liked. Ouch!

Why was that so genius? “Rickrolling” is probably one of the oldest memes that the internet has brought us. The background is that you pique someone’s curiosity on the internet to click on a link. Triumph added that counts the earned Iron Banner packages starting from Season 9. This counts all packages that have already been earned in this season retroactively.
A problem was fixed where the triumph “Efrideet’s Gift” could not be completed if players earned 50 Iron Banner packages in Season 9. This applies retroactively.

Outlook for the Iron Banner in Season 10: Which armor sets or quests await the Guardians in the upcoming season is currently known only to Bungie. However, we already know about a new Iron Banner weapon.
As Bungie already announced in December, in Season 10, a combat bow will be available through the Iron Banner. “Point of the Stag” is thus the first bow in the design of the Iron Lords.
The weapon is currently already viewable in databases like Light.gg for interested parties. However, note that the stats and perks may change.

What you need to know about the times: Today at exactly 2 PM, a Slurpuff raid will appear at every gym that is not currently hosting an EX raid. This will be active for exactly 3 hours before it disappears again.
How to get the free passes: The 5 raid passes are not given at once. You have to use each pass individually in order to receive the next one. Together with your daily pass, you can do up to 6 free Slurpuff raids.

Will there be Shiny Slurpuff? The biggest motivation for this event is likely the introduction of Shiny Slurpuff. For the first time, you can catch this Pokémon as Shiny. After the Raid Day, it will also be found as Shiny in the wild and in eggs.
What are the chances of a Shiny? So far, there has been a Shiny chance of about 1 in 10 on raid days. Therefore, it is quite possible that the rate is just as high this time.
You have quite a good chance of getting a Shiny.
How to Best Take Advantage of the Event
Are the Slurpuff raids worth it? Slurpuff and Slurp are not very significant in raids or gyms in Pokémon GO. Therefore, you don’t need to do raids for them. They are not a part of the best attackers.

The end of Season 19 in Diablo 3 is just a few days away. Shortly after, Season 20 will begin. We will show you the latest information.
When does Season 19 end? You still have the rest of February 2020 to enjoy Season 19 of Diablo 3.
On March 1, 2020, Season 19 ends in Diablo 3. This season started on November 22 and, as is usual for D3, is active for about three months until the end.
This caused confusion: The official Twitter channel of Diablo tweeted on the evening of February 14, stating “Pssst, Season 19 ends next week.” However, that was misinformation.
Shortly after the tweet with the end date made the rounds in the Diablo 3 subreddit, community manager Nevalistis spoke up. She wrote:
“THAT’S INCORRECT. Sorry, there was a miscommunication between me and the social team. We are fixing it now. The season ends on March 1.” Shortly thereafter, a new tweet was posted to correct the original.

Nevalistis writes on Reddit that the developer blog for the new season should go live sometime next week, at the latest by February 23. Players will then also find the start date of the new season.

What is Wolcen? Wolcen is a hack ‘n slash that is being developed with CryEngine and thus focuses on a detailed, modern appearance. This graphics creates a cinematic atmosphere as Wolcen tells the story also through cutscenes in game graphics. The dark visuals are reminiscent of Diablo 4.
You explore many larger and smaller game areas as well as dungeons, where battles against monsters await you. As is customary for an action RPG, you collect a lot of loot to get better equipment. You improve your hero based on a skill system.

Do the developers have experience with console ports? Wolcen Studio is an indie studio that was founded only a few years ago, but it consists of developers who have already gained experience in other game companies. These include companies like Doki Denki, which developed PlayStation games based on Disney films.
Most of the team, including founder and CEO Daniel Dolui, have a lot of experience with CryEngine, which is inherently designed as a multi-platform engine.
A console implementation should therefore not be too great a challenge for Wolcen Studio.
Port for PS4 and Xbox One also depends on success
What are the chances of a PS4 or Xbox version of Wolcen? The developers are currently focusing on the release of the PC version.

In April 2019, the developers said: If Wolcen is successful, they want to bring it also for PS4 and Xbox One.
