With the Warzone update, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has received two new game modes. These are great for quickly leveling weapons or progressing through the Battle Pass. But it’s only a short time that it’s easier.
What makes it so easy? With the launch of the Battle Royale mode Warzone on March 10, there was also a small bonus for all players. All experience earned is doubled for one week, until March 17, 2020.
This bonus applies to weapon XP, regular XP and progress for the Battle Pass. You will receive double XP in both multiplayer modes as well as in the two Warzone modes Battle Royale and Plunder.
How much experience do I get? How much experience you earn depends on which mode you are playing, how well your performance is and how long the match lasted. We have been able to measure the most bonus XP in BR and Plunder so far. If you perform reasonably well, you can roughly achieve:
The duration corresponds roughly to one match. In longer matches or with better performance, you can easily further increase the earned experience.
Quickly farm attachments, weapons, and Battle Pass
What does leveling do for me? Levelling up has several benefits. Firstly, you unlock new weapons and equipment with regular level-ups up to level 55. Secondly, you can level up using the weapons you use.
Leveling certain weapons grants you access to new attachments with which you can improve and customize the weapons at the gunsmith. This way you can even create secret variants from some weapons.
Does this benefit me as a Free2Play player? Warzone is also playable for free; however, F2P players only have access to Battle Royale. Nonetheless, leveling provides you with nearly as much benefit as it does for the buyers.
From level 4, you can create your own loadouts and classes. Since you have to start fresh as a F2P player, the XP bonus helps you reach good loadouts faster. This way, you won’t lag behind the buyers for too long.
Furthermore, any progress you make in Battle Royale – including levels, weapon tiers and more – will also transfer to the base game once you purchase it. So if you want to play CoD MW later in multiplayer or unlock cosmetic items for BR, you won’t lose any progress.
You don’t have to play until the end – even an early death without achieving much already grants about 4000-5000 XP
Play for XP and not for victory – if you want to level specific weapons, use them in Battle Royale if you find them, even if they are not the strongest
Create a loadout with the weapon you want to level – you can select this immediately in Plunder mode and you don’t have to buy or find it first
Play with friends or randoms – Warzone is designed for trios and playing alone or in duos is correspondingly harder. Together you are more likely to survive and have higher chances for more XP
Complete contracts – they provide quick and easy rewards during the match, which can lead to more XP. There is also an extra dose of weapon XP available

In Destiny 2 there is currently a bug in Gambit. Players are being repeatedly kicked out or entire matches are ending. Apparently, the cause is level-ups. The developer Bungie has already spoken out.
What is currently happening in Gambit? According to reddit user MrFOrzum, there is currently a bug in the game mode Gambit that urgently needs to be fixed. The problem seems to be the players’ level-ups.
Whenever a player levels up with their character, there seems to be a chance that an opponent will be kicked from the game or even the entire match will end.

What does Bungie say? On reddit, community manager dmg04 has already commented on the issues in Gambit:
We have already noticed the issue in the help forum and the team is currently investigating the cause. As soon as we have a fix planned, we will let you know.

What is the Gambit mode? Gambit is a PvEvP mode where two teams compete against each other. Depending on the variant, a match consists of up to three rounds played on different maps with different bosses.
In the PvE part, particles from mobs are collected. Once a team collects 25 particles, it can open a portal and send a player to the opponents. Then PvP action is added. Over time, Gambit was expanded to the Prime mode and a greater focus on the Vagabond as game master.
Even though the Warlords expansion for The Division 2 and the changes from Title Update 8 are well received by many players, there are also problems. Among the biggest issues are likely the overpowered NPCs and the poor loot at increasing difficulty levels. Now the developers have responded.
This is currently causing discussions: Recently, the new expansion Warlords of New York launched, accompanied by the major Title Update 8. Included were not only numerous new content but also many changes to existing mechanics and systems.
However, even though some agents are enjoying the new expansion and the content from TU8, there are areas where it simply does not fit for many players. The two currently most debated problems are the balance at higher difficulty levels and the corresponding loot.
What are the current biggest problems?
This bothers many agents significantly: Those who have completed the Warlords campaign and delve deeper into the endgame and into Season 1 will sooner or later increase the difficulty. And that’s exactly where many begin to face problems.
If you don’t have an absolute God-build, enemies become disproportionately stronger with increasing levels. Especially elite enemies turn into real bullet sponges, which one must often shoot for minutes before they finally drop. However, you can go down after just a few shots, sometimes even just one. This makes it less enjoyable for many – neither alone nor in a group, where enemies additionally scale.

As if that were not enough, you are not noticeably better rewarded for your efforts at higher difficulty levels, even though you might need 30 minutes longer for the same mission. It’s not uncommon to be “rewarded” with purple items on “Challenging”. Even God-rolls don’t seem to occur more frequently.
In short: While you are facing significantly tougher enemies, the loot barely improves with increasing difficulty, which makes it even more frustrating for many.
Even though there are currently still enough other issues in the game, such as faulty season progress, non-resettable checkpoints, the TTK in the Dark Zone, nasty bugs, or technical problems (as also seen after today’s maintenance) – the overpowered NPCs and the poor loot are what many wish to improve as quickly as possible. Now the developers have finally spoken.
Where do the information come from? In the State of the Game on March 11, the developers confirmed that they are indeed aware of the criticism and emphasize that they are receiving many comments from the community on this topic and are not simply ignoring them.
The most important point for many upfront: The developers are looking at possible changes to scaling in co-op and at the difficulty level, and some changes will likely come – even if they appear to be just minimal. However, they did not specify when exactly.
What changes are expected for the NPCs? They admitted that it currently takes too long for enemies to die in some situations. In general, they are satisfied with the state and balance at the “Hard” difficulty level – that’s exactly where they want to be.
The Challenging difficulty level was designed for players with perfect builds and maximized attributes. Currently, the encounters are a bit exaggerated in terms of NPC health and damage. Additionally, this also limits build diversity, as everyone simply focuses on damage (red attributes).
However, they want to encourage build diversity. It is therefore very likely that there will be moderate adjustments here.
“Heroic” and “Legendary” should still remain tough for all players. So if adjustments are made here, they will only be minimal. In the end, it should still be challenging. It won’t be a walk in the park.
Also, the scaling for elite enemies in co-op, i.e., the increase in enemy damage, armor, and health with an increasing number of players, is currently not functioning as intended.
In short: The difficulty levels above “Hard” are intended for optimally equipped agents. Additionally, elite enemies in co-op do not scale as they should. They are looking at possible adjustments here.
However, the developers emphasize that the higher difficulty levels should be tough and challenging. With TU7, many things became too easy, and they are generally happy that it has become more demanding again with Warlords. They don’t want to change that too much, and it will not be as easy as it was before Warlords. But at the same time, it should also not feel too frustrating and not be filled with bullet sponges into which one mindlessly dumps magazine after magazine.
So the goal is to adjust the difficulty levels and the scaling of NPCs, to increase build diversity, and to improve accessibility at higher difficulty levels. All of this ideally without making it too easy again.
This is what the developers say about the loot: They have also commented on the loot. This should also be improved. Higher difficulty levels should drop correspondingly good loot and not flood the players with countless purple items on “Challenging”.
Currently, containers in the open world and in missions also do not scale with the difficulty level. This is also unintentional and should be changed.
By the way, the raid will be balanced separately and not be affected by all these changes.

Eternal will be hardcore – really, even for DOOM
As usual, the new DOOM Eternal comes in different difficulty levels, from Easy to Ultra-Nightmare. The fact that the second easiest mode is called “Hurt Me Plenty” indicates something about DOOM.
In DOOM Eternal, the name is the program. I, as someone who often plays shooters and is fairly good at it, have struggled while playing. I died in the first level of DOOM Eternal, and that was not much more than the tutorial on “Hurt Me Plenty”.
What makes DOOM Eternal so hard? The difference from previous DOOM entries is that in Eternal, the enemies are always equally intelligent. This means they always have the same behavior patterns.
Enemies are initially quite nasty, but become easier over time.
That was different in the past. They became smarter as the difficulty increased, which meant you always had to readjust to them. Now, the difficulty only changes the damage taken and dealt.
This leads to a particularly nasty start in DOOM Eternal. Only DOOM veterans will likely get through it without major injuries. The advantage, however, is that the game becomes more enjoyable with longer playtime – even on Ultra-Nightmare.
DOOM comes at just the right time
What can speak for the success of DOOM Eternal is the timing of its release. Now, in spring 2020, hardly any new games and no new shooters of this magnitude are being released.
What else is coming out? If you take a look at our list of game releases for 2020, you will see that there have been hardly any new releases prior to DOOM Eternal and it will also be a while before anything else comes out.
On April 24, Predator: Hunting Grounds will be released, but other notable shooters are not on the horizon. Only Valorant is set to enter beta at some point in 2020.
Valorant could become a competitor for DOOM – but targets a completely different player base.
DOOM Eternal thus has the opportunity to set a milestone once again, as it will remain the only new shooter with fresh ideas for the foreseeable future.
How will DOOM assert itself? In DOOM Eternal, the developers and publisher Bethesda are relying not only on the fanbase of the cult shooter, but are also exploring new paths.

Runes and weapon mods ensure that you deal more damage and can defeat enemies more effectively. Some of them even allow you to stun certain enemies, making them vulnerable to immediate death via Glorykill.
Glorykills are an important mechanic and are even possible with tough enemies.
What’s particularly interesting is the Fortress. Here you receive some of your equipment, exhibit found records (which should pacify even the critics of the TV spot’s music), rearrange your skills, and start new missions.
Since there are tons of secrets in DOOM Eternal, it’s worth coming back and exploring the ship repeatedly. Behind almost every displayed item lies a story – and in the “Man Cave” of the Doomslayer, there are numerous Easter eggs and a PC waiting to be fed with floppy disks for a secret game.
Customize your Slayer: Besides various upgrade options that can influence your playstyle, you also have the opportunity to change your appearance. You can unlock or receive various skins for this purpose.

This content is available during the game: The developers have indicated that the playtime of DOOM Eternal is about 22 hours – primarily referring to the campaign. This is nearly double the length of its predecessor DOOM (2016).

More content in the future: With the release on March 20, the development of DOOM Eternal is not yet finished. The game will continue to receive more content, almost like an MMO.

The small biomes, which are criticized by the community, are for Chaplynn a pure adventure. Without flying creatures, she has to wander on the ground through the dangerous yet beautifully designed biomes, discovering many details that would be lost in flight. Without flying dinos, the world also feels much larger than it actually is.
This way, she and her friends keep discovering new caves or simply building up in the swamp biome. Building on trees was possible in the old ARKs, for example in the Redwood biome of The Island, but not as pronounced as in Genesis. There are many good building spots that need to be found, and they are well hidden in every biome. The urge to explore is high, and exploring is fun.

The missions are fun and sometimes ridiculously hard
The missions in ARK Genesis are not to everyone’s taste. Dino racing or Dodo basketball also sound quite inappropriate for a challenging simulation that Genesis is supposed to represent.
Nevertheless, they provide a good change in the daily life of ARK players, and especially the more difficult missions like “Hide and Seek” can quickly mean death for reckless adventurers. Here too, Genesis shows that it wants to be challenging.
The building bans in the mission zones, which have also been criticized by players, have been disabled by Chaplynn and her friends on their server. Wildcard has also introduced new official servers where that is the case as well.

How do you spend 6000 hours in ARK?
6000 hours since 2015 may sound like a lot at first, but when compared to typical playtimes in WoW, LoL, or Fortnite, 6000 hours is almost normal.
Chaplynn and her friends initially spent a lot of time learning the mechanics of the game during Early Access and then dove into PvP on the official servers. After several years, they switched to their private server and since then have taken things a bit easier. They no longer play daily, as it cannot be reconciled with their job anymore. They are no longer looking for the challenge in PvP but in PvE, and Genesis comes just right for them.

BioWare’s online game Anthem is revamping the Regulator Shop. You can now purchase even legendary items with coins.
What kind of shop is this? The Regulator Shop has been around in Anthem for a long time. The problem is that it hasn’t been used much until now. It sold crafting materials, which are mainly interesting for low-level players. However, from level 30 onwards, you basically don’t need that anymore.
Moreover, the materials and items in the shop have been very expensive, making it less attractive to shop there.
Legendary items in the shop
How has the shop changed now? It is now possible to buy weapons and equipment for your Javelin in the Regulator Shop – including even legendary items – for coins.
This makes shopping easier for you. You no longer have to travel to the tombs of the Legionnaires to craft legendary items from the materials. You can simply and conveniently purchase the items for coins in the shop.

How are players reacting to this? Since you earn coins through gameplay and it’s not a premium currency, the new Regulator Shop is quite well received by the Anthem fans. Of course, the question arises whether it shouldn’t be better to earn the legendaries in Anthem instead.
However, many high-level players have accumulated a lot of coins, especially since there was no good reason to spend them. The Regulator Shop now offers a good opportunity to finally get rid of these coins.

What questions remain? The shop is well received and players are spending their collected coins. Now some are wondering whether there will be more ways to get coins in the future. Furthermore, it is unclear how often the shop will be stocked with new items. But that will surely be clarified soon.

The Battle Royale of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available as free-to-play and can be played by everyone for free. However, there is a catch at the beginning.
What disadvantage do F2P players have? Players of the free-to-play version of the new Battle Royale of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare have no way to create their own loadouts at the start.
Although the soldiers of the stand-alone version can enjoy the game almost completely, they miss out on a strong feature at the beginning that can decide between victory and defeat.

What do F2P players get instead? Although F2P players can request loadouts at the beginning, they only have the option of choosing between pre-made equipment. While these are sometimes decent, they are no comparison to the crafted and customized loadouts that MW owners can put together.
If you want your perfect loadout, you will first need to play a few games before you can optimize your equipment. At account level 4, you unlock the class editor that allows you to edit loadouts. This also applies to all buyers of Modern Warfare who are just starting the game fresh.
Even after unlocking, you are still at a disadvantage here. Many MW players have been playing for much longer and have already unlocked all weapons and equipment. On top of that, there are the weapon levels. Each MW weapon has its own level and has to be played for a while before all attachments are available.
What else do F2P players miss? Players of the free version do not have access to cosmetic items or rewards from the Battle Pass. However, everything that relates to gameplay can also be unlocked by F2P soldiers and used in battles against other survivors. But they often have quite a bit to catch up on.
