What does fast leveling bring me? In the multiplayer and co-op modes of Black Ops Cold War, almost all equipment and weapons and their attachments are hidden behind a leveling barrier. So you always have to play Call of Duty for a while before you can access the best gadgets and weapons.

This can take a while. However, you can significantly reduce the time needed if you are willing to adjust your gameplay a bit and regularly check challenges.

Play modes with objectives

Almost every action in the match brings XP. Well, reloading and running maybe not, but otherwise you actually earn experience points for almost everything. So choose modes that give you even more opportunities to farm XP.

These include especially objective-based modes like “Domination” or “Hardpoint”. Here you earn points for capturing objectives, but there are also boosts on kills related to the objective. If you eliminate an enemy at the objective or from the objective, Cold War gives you a hefty XP bonus on that kill. This also applies to the larger modes, such as “Fireteam” and “Fireteam”, where you can complete many different tasks.

During your leveling phase, you should avoid simple deathmatch modes like “Team Deathmatch” or “Kill Confirmed”. They generally offer you less XP for your playtime.

Killstreaks bring massive XP

If you focus on earning more experience points, take it a bit more cautious in matches.

If you have a 4-killstreak, take it a little easier and secure your 5th kill. With every 5th step, you get a significant boost to your XP. On one hand, this increases your points for the next scorestreak and also gives you more XP on kills.

Support the team

A strong method to farm more XP while also strengthening your team is through support actions. Here you have 2 options:

• Help destroy enemy scorestreaks and equipment
• Use scorestreaks and equipment that support the team

Pack a rocket launcher as your secondary weapon and maybe even the perk “Engineer”. This perk helps you spot enemy equipment and scorestreaks better. As a little bonus, you can also re-roll your requested supplies when you are right in front of them.

Among the scorestreaks, the “UAV” is particularly valuable. You earn extra points for every kill of an revealed enemy. And you don’t even have to eliminate the enemies yourself – your teammates’ kills also count.

With your field upgrades, you can also get some benefits: Take the supply package. If you eliminate enemies with the ammo from the package, you get more points, and even if teammates use it, you benefit from that.

Extra tip: The points you earn always go to the weapon you are currently holding. If you fire a rocket at an enemy drone, switch back to your primary weapon to credit the hit to that weapon. Even if you capture a point or “Domination” or similar – always pay attention to hold the weapon that should benefit from the points.

Focus more on gameplay medals

You’ve probably noticed that at the end of each match you receive a few medals to pin on your uniform. These gameplay medals don’t just gather dust in the digital showcase, but also bring you significant extra XP and even count double during a double XP event.

Headshots, long-range kills, revenge kills – all earn you extra points and help you level up faster.

Hardcore mode players have a slight advantage in this regard. With many weapons, you eliminate your enemy with a single shot and thus secure the medal “Deadly Precision” for almost every kill. This makes a noticeable difference, but if you can’t handle “Hardcore”, you will probably still earn less XP than in modes that suit you better.

Keep an eye on your challenges

Under the “Challenges” menu, you’ll find plenty of multiplayer challenges that are always connected with an XP reward.

Try out new weapons and gadgets and check the “Challenges” menu regularly. If you click on a category (for example, Multiplier), you will see the 3 challenges that are closest to completion at the bottom of the image. If you click on the top 3, you’ll even go to an overview that shows you the next 10 challenges where you have already gained the most.

To complete even more challenges, you can also start the zombie mode. Here you’ll find a huge pile of challenges and potentially hundreds of thousands of experience points.

Use different playstyles

You earn less XP when you always play the same way in multiplayer. Try mixing it up and earn rewards that you wouldn’t achieve with your usual playstyle. However, it’s important to find a balance. If you realize that a playstyle or weapon does not suit you at all, the 5,000 extra XP from the challenge won’t help, as you’ll earn significantly fewer points in matches.

Many tasks also offer multiple stages, and with each stage, you earn more XP. Once you complete all stages, you usually receive a thematic calling card on top. So if you’ve completed all stages of the task “Execution” (eliminate enemies under the influence of gas, flashbang, or stun), switch to smoke grenades and capture objectives under the cover of smoke (war fog).

A similar rule applies to weapons. Once you reach a specific number of kills or completely level up the weapons, you get a hefty XP boost. There’s also a lot of XP for unlocked camos. Change your firearm when you’ve already collected the bonuses to have a chance for the extra XP on the next weapon.

Bonus tip: PlayStation bonuses & Fireteam mode, double XP promos

What’s the deal with PS bonuses? Sony and CoD have come under criticism for their exclusive bonuses on PlayStation. In terms of XP, PS players get 2 advantages:

• An exclusive monthly double XP event
• 25% bonus on weapon XP in a PS party

What does the Fireteam mode offer? In this mega mode, 80 players fight in 2 teams for victory, and there are extra points around every corner. If you complete a whole round with just one weapon, you are guaranteed 2-3 weapon levels, if not more. You really gain points and thus much more XP relative to playtime than in other Cold War modes.

What do double XP promos mean? There are XP tokens from companies that collaborate with Call of Duty. Such a collaboration even leaked Cold War back then. So far, nothing like this has happened in Germany. But keep an eye out. Modern Warfare, for example, teamed up with “Burger King” and “Monster Energy Drink”.

Lastly, a final tip: Never leave a match that you have started. Cold War gives you a lot of bonus points for finishing a match. This also applies if you are thrown into an ongoing match. You should always stick it out, otherwise, you lose valuable experience points.

The tips here will also help you if you’ve already unlocked the good stuff, but are still tackling the prestige ranks. With 1,200 levels per season, you should use every trick & tip you can get.

This is Operation Chaos: The campaign of CoD Cold War guides you through various stages of the Cold War. Over the course of the story, you unlock two side missions named “Operation Chaos” and “Red Circus.”

Especially Operation Chaos is tricky, as you need to solve puzzles to succeed.

Start Operation Chaos – All Evidence

This is what you need to do: For Operation Chaos, you need to find a number and a solution word to decrypt a floppy disk. However, you will only find these solutions out if you have previously completed some missions in the campaign.

You can find the side mission on your board in the hideout and start it from there. However, we recommend that you progress a bit in the main story first, as only then will you find enough evidence to successfully start the side mission.

These are the evidences you need: To start Operation Chaos, you should have found 3 pieces of evidence in the main story beforehand. This includes:

• Mission “No Escape”: Here you will find a coded message that you need. For this, you must ask Quasim who Arash is meeting. In response, you will receive the message.
• Mission “Breach in the Wall”: Here you will find a tape, but only if you pursue the side objective and either free or kill the informant Richter. In the interrogation room, you will find the tape on the table.
• Mission “Red Light, Green Light”: In this mission, you will find a newspaper. For this, you need to photograph 3 of the 6 layout plans that are distributed throughout the level.

If you have found all these pieces of evidence, then you can dive into Operation Chaos and decrypt the floppy disk.

Decrypt floppy disk and find code

This is how to decrypt the floppy disk: For this, you need to combine the 3 pieces of evidence and solve a riddle. The riddle gives you a sequence of numbers and a solution word, which you can enter as a code.

We will show you step by step how to proceed:

1. Grab the newspaper and look at the big headline. Some letters are colored red. You can write these down on a piece of paper – the order doesn’t matter at first.
2. Then open the transmission of the number sender. There you will find several city names followed by numbers.
3. The letters you wrote down from the newspaper will result in a city name when you correctly assemble the anagram – alternatively, you can also use an anagram solver.
4. Once you have found the place from the list, write down the numbers behind the place. These numbers are the code you must enter first.
5. For the second code, you again need a city name from the list – for this, you take the encrypted message, which is the first piece of evidence we described above.
6. The encrypted message shows red and blue number sequences that you need to complete. Start with the red sequence and look for which number is missing in the sequence. This is usually quite easy and can then be repeated for the blue sequence.
7. The missing numbers then make up the solution. For example, if the 23 was missing in the red sequence and the 31 in the blue sequence, then the code is 2331.
8. Now you just need to check which city corresponds to the four-digit code. This city will then be the solution word.
9. Finally, enter the number combination first and then the city name. After that, the floppy disk should be decrypted.

This is what you need to consider: There is no complete solution here. For each player, the solution words and numbers are different. So you can’t look at what your friend has, but you must solve the puzzle independently.
