In Fortnite: Battle Royale, one can quickly become a noob when making certain mistakes repeatedly. This is something that MeinMMO author Eilyn Rapp has noticed, who after 3 years is still a noob. You should avoid these 5 mistakes.
This is my situation in Fortnite: Fortnite can be tough, as not everyone plays at the same level. One would think that experience would mean one plays well. However, this is not necessarily the case, as even though I’ve been playing for 3 years, I’m still a noob.
What is the reason? Are other players just getting stronger or could it be my own mistakes that prevent me from progressing? Even if one doesn’t want to admit it, yes, I’m to blame for still making these noob mistakes after 3 years.
These noob mistakes I still make
Here I present to you a few of the mistakes I’ve been making in Fortnite for years that make me a noob. Maybe you can identify with a few things or you can be glad you’re not making them and learn something from it. But as a tip: Don’t make these mistakes!
Wrong sensitivity settings
What does this mean? In Fortnite, you can set how quickly you want to turn around. This can vary from player to player, as it also pertains to one’s own reaction. This setting is important because it will determine how you react to an attack from an opponent.
If the sensitivity is not set correctly, you can quickly tell. The person either turns too slowly or too quickly. This behavior is often observable in noobs, and unfortunately, I am one of them, as I still haven’t managed to find the right setting for myself.
Unnecessarily spending time looting
What does this mean? Noobs like me tend to waste a lot of time looting. Whether to avoid a fight or because one desperately wants to find the best equipment. This isn’t necessarily bad, but it’s not required.
If you spend almost the entire match looting, you’ll often end up against a strong opponent who eliminates you quickly. You feel almost like a loot supplier, right? Perhaps we could go directly into a fight where we at least have a chance, as you also get loot from the opponent and even a kill!
Cannot land properly
What does this mean? When starting a round in Fortnite, you first get placed in a bus and then have to jump out over the map and land. It’s actually quite simple, but as a noob, the first problems already arise there.
If you don’t master the landing, you will always be the last at the landing spot and get ambushed by opponents. You should always pay attention to the display that shows how far you can glide down before the glider activates. Unfortunately, it’s not always so easy to implement.
Not mastering building, but also not practicing
What does this mean? If you want to be successful in Fortnite, you need to master building and editing. However, that is unfortunately not so easy, as you have to press countless buttons, and opponents are usually faster at it.
After 3 years, I still can’t build properly, even though there are several options in creative mode and maps where you can practice building and editing. Perhaps I should really use them more often if I don’t want to remain a noob forever.
Hiding before every fight
What does this mean? The round is in full swing, and you hear an opponent nearby – how do you react? Others would probably prepare for a fight and launch an attack, but I find a hiding spot and hope not to be found.
Hiding may help in some situations, but if you do get found, you’re trapped and can’t do anything against the attack. If I were braver, I might gain the upper hand beforehand and ambush the opponent.
When looking at your own mistakes in detail, you quickly realize that you are to blame for still being a noob. I should probably work on these mistakes and finally take tips from better players. Instead, it often happens that I even have to lie to my husband because I am a noob in Fortnite.
