In the loot shooter Outriders, almost everything can be played in multiplayer and with crossplay. MeinMMO explains how this works.
Outriders offers crossplay and player search as standard in both the demo and the full game. You can join other players at any time and complete missions together.
How big is a group? Like in Destiny, the group size is limited to three Outriders. But what exactly can be played in multiplayer? And how does crossplay work? MeinMMO explains it to you.
What is crossplay anyway? With this feature, you can form a group with players from other platforms. This includes PC, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, and PS5.
The condition for this is an account with Square Enix, the publisher of Outriders. Because players are brought together through this system. So you first need to create an account on the official site .

Crossplay and Multiplayer in the Demo
Crossplay is activated from the start. There is only one condition to be able to use this function:
- Before you start, the game will prompt you to link your respective player account (Steam, PSN, Xbox, etc.) with the Square Enix account.
- You can complete this under this link .
- You can now generate a code in the game’s lobby.
- Your friends just need to enter this code, then they can join your group.
There is a player search that will match you with other players. With friends playing on the same platform, you can create targeted groups by inviting them from the lobby. Otherwise, you need the generated code.
The developers are working on a method to invite friends from other platforms with whom you have already played directly.
What content does the demo offer? You can play the first chapter of Outriders. This includes the entire prologue and the first main missions, along with a few side quests. Players can also create six characters and try the four classes of Outriders.
You can play this with friends: Except for the prologue, in which you are introduced to the world of Outriders and choose your class, you can complete all the content of the demo with friends or random players.

What else is there to know about the demo? Everything you achieve in the demo will carry over to the main game. You can level up to level 7, unlock World Tier 5 (which are difficulty levels), and even find legendary loot already. So if you definitely want to play at release, you don’t have to start over.
