When you start Call of Duty: Warzone 2, the default settings are not optimal for the fast-paced battles in battle royale. MeinMMO shows you some settings here that will improve your game with just one click.
One thing upfront: You won’t find any optimal settings for your graphic settings on PC here. This is about minor adjustments that give you an advantage over players who don’t change their settings.
Some points on the list already show the default settings, but you should still check if you have selected the corresponding setting correctly.

We will first list the settings along with the menus where you can find them on PC & console, and provide a brief explanation below the list of how the changes will affect your gameplay.
Additionally, you will find optional settings further down that you can try out, as well as tips for controller and mouse & keyboard.
Film Grain, Blur, Depth of Field: Such image filters look nice in the campaign, but have no place in competitive modes. They distort your view of what’s important – definitely disable them.
Field of View: The preset values are standard measurements that have shaped different shooters over the years. 103 is about the default setting in games like Valorant, 120 in Quake Champions.
As a general rule: The larger your field of view, the more you can see of the game and the faster your own turning speed appears – this may also require adjustments to your device sensitivity.
Additionally, enemies appear smaller. Conversely, a small field of view might help you better spot and hit enemies.
In Warzone 2, a large field of view can also help with controlling recoil. The so-called “visual recoil” is significantly reduced. Experiment a bit with your field of view.
Audio Mix: These settings are also highly dependent on your devices – test the different settings a bit. “Headphones Bass Boost” has a rather small dynamic range and therefore focuses on the important effect sounds.
Minimap: Even if you know it differently from the past: Keep the minimap / minimap square. This way you see a larger portion of the map. The disabled rotation takes some getting used to, but especially with a team, you can align directions better.
Automatic Parachute Deployment: If you leave this option on, you will deploy the parachute too high above the ground and will be slower than the enemy – this can be a significant disadvantage especially at the start of the match. Or it can be a huge advantage.
Controller: Turn off all effects of your controller – vibration or the trigger effect from the PS5 DualSense affect your performance. Also effective are swapped triggers when your rear triggers have a long activation distance. This way, you save valuable milliseconds when firing a weapon.
Often it is moments, little things, milliseconds that make the difference in Call of Duty. With these settings, you create a small advantage that can often determine between victory and defeat in a battle.

How can I unlock weapons in DMZ mode? In the DMZ, it’s all about loot – you set a mission, follow your path, get distracted by exciting places, and then leave the map by helicopter.
All weapons you have in your inventory during extraction will also be unlocked in the gunsmith.
Don’t feel like playing the battle rifle Lachmann-762 just to unlock the MP5 (Lachmann-MP)? No problem: You can find the weapon everywhere in the DMZ.

If you find a “large backpack” during your loot tour, you can unlock up to 3 weapons in one go. This is possible in under 15 minutes – with a bit of luck, it can even be significantly faster.
What should I watch out for? If you haven’t touched the DMZ yet, don’t underestimate the NPCs. Their weapons are as strong as yours, and some motivated computer opponents come with strong hit rates.
The missions are not a walk in the park, and it can happen that the NPCs hit you hard. But still, it’s an excellent way to bypass the complicated unlocks in the gunsmith.
Just a few more tips: The unlocks also apply to Modern Warfare 2. If you get them in DMZ mode, you will also have them in the current CoD multiplayer.
If you also play together with friends who already have more weapons, they can bring a gunsmith weapon in the DMZ through the “Insured Slots”. If they are nice friends, they will give you the gun to extract, and you will unlock your desired weapons.

There are some graphical options that make everything look a little prettier and more realistic in the CoD MW2 story. However, such things do not belong in multiplayer, and all types of image filters should be disabled. By default, some are enabled.
If you have the setting “AMD FidelityFX CAS” you can experiment with it a bit. AMD promises sharper scene renderings without affecting performance. Play around with the value or turn it off directly.
With the field of view, you set how much of the game you see in your screen frame. A high value might be worth it since your screen edge shifts. But the image also gets a little distorted, everything feels faster, and there is a minimal fisheye effect.
With a smaller field of view, opponents appear larger on the screen. The larger field of view gives you a wider view. Decide for yourself what is more important to you.
In sound, it is mainly about well audible effects. This especially includes the footsteps of enemies, but also the direction from which gunfire comes.
The audio setting “Headphones” offers you a limited dynamic range that focuses on the essentials. The larger the dynamics, the more the sound focus is on other noises that could distract from the important effects.
When it comes to input devices, everyone has their preferences. We want to give you a few tips for mouse, keyboard, and controller.

Reverse triggers: On
Vibration and other controller effects can impair your aiming abilities and reactions. Avoid them in multiplayer. Also, reverse your front and back triggers, as the back triggers usually have a longer distance to travel than the front ones.
The ADS sensitivity multiplier is a strong tool to secure a slight aim boost when aiming. The sensitivity decreases by 10% when aiming down sights, which can be very helpful when targeting. If you find the change in sensitivities confusing while gaming, turn it off again.
10. Setting – Mouse & Keyboard: The settings for your mouse inputs are very dependent on your individual taste. We refrain from making recommendations for sensitivity at this point.
However, what is worth trying are new keybindings. Assign actions like “Crouch” or “Throw grenade” to mouse buttons you otherwise wouldn’t use. This gives you a little more time in the match and keeps you from having to use the keyboard as much.

The contents of the safes can give you a significant advantage in the missions. However, you often lose the opportunity to unlock certain other achievements, such as if you are not supposed to use a weapon.
A gamer buys a high-end system, a gaming PC with the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti graphics card. Only a friend then notices that he has been playing for months with far too low performance. The reason for this is a wrongly connected cable.

What exactly went wrong? Anyone who wants to connect their gaming monitor to their computer usually has to plug the monitor’s HDMI cable into the graphics card. An alternative to HDMI is DisplayPort.
However, many motherboards also offer an HDMI port. This port is needed, for example, when you install a processor with integrated graphics and do not have a “real” graphics card.
The user in question had connected his HDMI cable to the motherboard instead of to the graphics card. He tried to install MSI Control Center or whatever and had problems because the apps from MSI, aside from Afterburner, are bad. Evan Barron, a Canadian Fortnite professional and Twitch streamer, announced on Twitter that he is stepping back from the esports of Fortnite. The reason appears to be a targeted harassment campaign and ongoing bullying that the streamer feels subjected to for some time after he had a racial outburst on Twitch.
What happened? On January 3, 2023, Canadian Fortnite pro Evan Barron issued a statement via TwitLonger, explaining that he plans to step away from Fortnite and esports in the future. Barron justified his decision by stating that he has been exposed to an ongoing harassment campaign.
He accuses three other content creators of inciting their followers to harass and insult him across various platforms. He can no longer engage in any online activity without attracting the wrath of others.

With the weekly update on January 4, 2023, Lost Ark unexpectedly rolled out a new measure against bots. MeinMMO author Mark Sellner believes it goes too far and mainly affects the wrong people.
What has changed? On the morning of January 4, Lost Ark, as every week, had its weekly update. In the patch notes the evening before, the developers did not announce any changes for the patch.
When the servers went live again, a change was mentioned in the forum that seems small but has significant effects. The rewards for the boss rush in tier 3, i.e., from gear score 1,302, can now only be opened if you have reached an item level of 1,375.
According to the publisher, this is supposed to be a strike against bots that often farm these boss rushes to sell the valuable skill gems you get from them. Moreover, the change seems to be only temporary, although Amazon has not yet revealed how long it will last.
However, I am convinced that with this measure, Amazon is not only annoying the players but also targeting exactly the audience they want to bring back. I will explain why below.
Who is writing here? Mark Sellner is an MMORPG author at MeinMMO and has been particularly active in Lost Ark over the last year. In the past months, he has spent over 1,500 hours in Arkesia and has played numerous characters to the endgame. He is also frustrated by the new measure, although he is only minimally affected.
Restrictions where they are not needed
What is the boss rush? To understand why I find this measure excessive, we first need to clarify how a boss rush works. In some in-game activities, such as the daily chaos dungeons, you can get tickets for this game mode, with a little luck.
The tickets are more rare than common, which is why the boss rush already has a higher entry hurdle than many other farming modes in Lost Ark. The rewards from the boss rush are skill jewels.
These can be equipped to improve your own abilities. For a level 10 jewel, up to 40% more damage per skill is possible. The jewels from the boss rush significantly contribute to getting a better character.
Restrictions for bots make little sense: Since you can only obtain the tickets for the boss rush from limited sources, such as the chaos dungeons, it is also impossible for bots to acquire more or faster tickets than normal players.
Of course, bots earn good gold from selling the jewels. But not more than a normal player who completes their daily and weekly tasks and sells boss rush rewards.
Therefore, I consider the additional restriction of distributing rewards only starting from item level 1,375 as pointless. Even worse, it affects new players who are desperately needed in Lost Ark right now.

New players must face challenges without jewels
In what ways are players restricted? For players like me, who already have many characters above gear score 1,375, this is at most mildly annoying. But especially new players, who they desperately want to attract, are hit hard by this change.
In recent months, Lost Ark has tried to attract returnees and new players to the MMORPG through numerous events, rewards, and bonuses. These are now being punished. Because when they enter a boss rush, they are not informed that they are essentially wasting the ticket.
A particular sticking point is the 5 gear score at the end of the number. Because while you can reach gear score 1,370 relatively easily, you need legendary equipment for 1,375.
This can only be obtained from the challenging abyssal dungeons and abyss raids. This leads me directly to the next problem that the change brings.
Why do new players have it harder now? Since new players can now hardly obtain any jewels until they reach item level 1,375, they must play the difficult content without jewels.
Therefore, they have an even harder time than people who started the game before and played the respective content. Only when they have looted a legendary set can they even start developing their jewels.
While the update already seems annoying and little meaningful for existing players, it is a massive blow for new fans of Lost Ark, making their lives unnecessarily difficult.

The message for the thread creator “TheAsgardianPrince” goes well below the belt. However, it is not about two egos facing off in a fair competition.
Rather, it is about the fact that the author of the message felt disturbed. They wanted to complete their “long-distance kills” needed for the skins of most weapons. Once you have unlocked enough of these camo skins, you get golden weapons and other metal skins.
What are long-distance kills? These are kills with a certain minimum distance from the opponent. The distance depends on the weapon class. Submachine guns can achieve long-distance kills from 30 meters, assault rifles from about 40 meters, and snipers from 50 meters.

The German casino streamers orangemorange and Scurrows had to swim briefly when Twitch banned them from “their online casino” Stake: Their channels have halved. What’s the deal with Stake? The online casino “Stake” was for some Twitch streamers like a golden goose or a “deal with the devil” for about a year and a half, depending on your perspective.

The streamers advertise for the casino, show in their streams how they play for huge sums, and entice the viewers to gamble there as well. They like to warn their viewers about how dangerous it actually is and that they should not try this at home.
The losses their viewers incur are real and really hurt them. Some have been driven to bankruptcy by gambling addiction.
The streamers themselves, however, are apparently paid handsomely for their advertising. The US streamer Trainwreck spoke of $360 million that he received in 16 months. The German streamers Scurrows and orangemorange won’t get as much, but they will likely be well compensated, as MontanaBlack explained in a live stream.
After protests, Twitch bans the casino Stake
Why aren’t they streaming on Twitch anymore? There has been a lot of stress around these online casinos:
In the USA, notable streamers like Asmongold, Pokimane, and Mizkif complained about the gambling. Mizkif indirectly lost his career because the attacked top gambler Trainwreck hit back.
After repeated complaints that the gambling streamers were enticing their viewers to gamble, Twitch expressly banned the casino “Stake”.

Casino ban halves channels of German Twitch streamers
What was the result? In Germany, the result was that the channels of the casino streamers suffered significantly:

Scurrows lost 36% of his average viewers and 57% of his viewed hours.
In the USA, top casino hero Trainwreck was hit even harder: He lost 73% of his viewer hours. At casino patriarch ROSHTEIN, as much as 95% of the viewed hours were gone.
It should be noted that after the Stake ban and without the Stake deal, all streamers streamed significantly less than before. It was likely just not as lucrative anymore.

What are Twitch streamers doing now? “Stake” is more or less building its own streaming platform, Kick, and has invited streamers to come to them.

The hardcore shooter Escape from Tarkov has done it again: Every 6 months the game skyrockets on the streaming platform Twitch, and especially around the New Year, the hardcore shooter creates a real hype. What kind of game is this and how does it manage to do that?
How is it currently going for the hardcore shooter on Twitch? Phenomenal. Escape from Tarkov has been the biggest game on Twitch for the last 7 days. Only one category has been watched longer – Just Chatting.
The shooter amassed just over 51 million viewer hours in the last 7 days, corresponding to a growth of over 1,100 %.
Just Chatting came in at around 59.5 million hours, the first game behind Tarkov was League of Legends, which achieved just over 19 million hours (as of: 04.01.22 / via sullygnome.com).
The hardcore shooter Escape from Tarkov is a brutally hard niche game with high entry barriers and potential for frustration. Nevertheless, the hardcore shooter creates hype among players and viewers every 6 months. MeinMMO takes a look at what’s behind it.
The trigger for the recurring hype is the so-called “Wipe”. This resets the complete progress of all players back to 0.
Escape from Tarkov is an extraction shooter, everything revolves around loot. Either you collect equipment for your own inventory, for upgrading the hideout, or for the various missions of the traders for reputation points.
With the wipe, all the collected progress is gone, players start only with their inventory, which is determined by the purchased game edition. This is the general trigger for the hype.
But there’s more to it. Because not every game could simply take away the progress of its players every 6 months and create hype that way.
The perfect game for streaming? And there are Twitch drops too
Escape from Tarkov is a nasty hardcore shooter that grinds newcomers through a meat grinder. You can run around the map for 20 minutes without problems and without enemy contact, and a bullet from an unknown direction ends the adventure.
There’s also no kill cam or anything – your eyes close, you see the after-match report. Especially for streamers, this complex and brutally difficult shooter is optimal.
There’s always something to explain, every step should be well thought out and can be shared with the chat beforehand. In addition, there are strong emotions when a fierce battle ends successfully or with your face in the grass.
Just watching can generate thrills and a “thrill”. This in turn leads to the desire to tackle Tarkov yourself.
Once you start playing, you don’t stop watching it on Twitch afterwards. For years, Tarkov has had Twitch drops after the wipe events. It was the first game besides the shooter Valorant that profited massively from the new drop system on Twitch.
The first hype came for Escape from Tarkov at the end of 2019 / beginning of 2020. Since then, many old players return at this time of year. Many newcomers also try the game for the first time around the wipe at year’s end.
Apart from the wipe and the Twitch hype, there are also very simple reasons for the current upturn. Because the latest patch brought the map “Streets of Tarkov” – it was in development for over 2.5 years and brought urban battles into the game.
Tarkov is a phenomenon in gaming, and rightly so. With its uncompromising mechanics, it has shown millions of players and viewers how much fun difficult games can be. Thus, it has even made a subgenre among shooters known – the extraction shooters.
The influence has now reached a point where even the major players in the shooter market can no longer ignore the development around this subgenre and have launched their own offshoots or modes.
Now Reshiram has returned with the New Year’s event to the raids and can be challenged again. It brings the new move “Cross Flame” with it.
Let’s take a closer look at how worthwhile the raid is.
How strong is Reshiram with Cross Flame
What kind of move is Cross Flame? Cross Flame is one of Reshiram’s special moves from Generation 5 of the main games. It has now been introduced in Pokémon GO with the following values:
90 damage in Trainer battles
140 damage in Gym and Raid battles
The move is faster than Reshiram’s previous top move Heat Wave. With Cross Flame, Reshiram is even more powerful than before.

Only Mega-Charizard Y and Mega-Blaziken stand above Reshiram as a Fire attacker. Reshiram with Cross Flame is therefore the best non-Mega Fire attacker in Pokémon GO. However, one can set up multiple Reshiram in raid teams, while only one Mega Pokémon can be used.
Is the raid worth it? Given the pure strength that Reshiram brings, the raid is definitely worth it – especially if you don’t have one yet.
If you want to build a powerful Fire team, you are well served with Cross Flame Reshiram, likely also in the long term. However, Reshiram with Heat Wave is also a very good option.
Additionally, Reshiram can also be shiny. Accordingly, the raid is also an option for collectors who are missing the shiny variant.
How to defeat Reshiram? Reshiram is present in the raids until January 10, and will also be available during the Raid Hour on January 04. A good opportunity to catch the monster.
Reshiram is vulnerable to attacks from the types Ground, Rock, and Dragon, especially strong Dragon attackers can deal great damage to it. Depending on the strength of your counters, Reshiram can even be defeated by a duo or trio, but it is advisable to use more trainers if possible for safety.

What are these guidelines? The video platform YouTube has specific guidelines that creators must adhere to in order to monetize a video. If a video is eligible for monetization, the YouTuber earns money.

Tighter rules against profanity – even relatively mild ones
What changes with the guidelines? So far, YouTubers were primarily restricted from saying obscenities like “F*ck” or “sh*t” in the first 30 seconds of the video.
However, with the new guidelines, no obscene expressions are allowed in the first 7 seconds of a video, in the title or thumbnail. Also, profanity should not occur multiple times in the first 8 to 15 seconds.
Additionally, all obscene expressions are treated equally; there is no longer a classification of what is severe or less severe.
Generally, the new guidelines are intended to affect not only new videos but also older videos that were previously monetized.
YouTube likely cuts revenue without obvious violation
What the new guidelines trigger: In a video about the new guidelines, YouTuber moistcr1tikal states his channel has been “extremely hard” hit by the new guidelines and adds: “It’s just very confusing what this new wave of demonetization is triggering, which is coming upon us like a plague (via YouTube).”
At the same time, two formulations in the guidelines cause confusion, as some videos do not represent a violation by that measure and yet were demonetized.

“Contents that contain profanity or vulgar expressions at the beginning or during most of the video may not be suitable for advertising.”
“Occasional use of profanity (e.g., in music videos) does not necessarily mean that your video is unsuitable for advertising.” – Guidelines for Ad-Friendly Content (via support.google.com)
Both formulations suggest that a video can also be demonetized outside the first 15 seconds if obscenities occur or are frequently used in a large part of the video.
At the same time, it is stated that occasional use does not necessarily exclude monetization of the video. Nevertheless, YouTubers “Stan from Poland” and “RT Game” were affected by the demonetization wave, even though they apparently did not violate based on the wording.
Text on a T-shirt costs YouTuber money
YouTuber “Stan from Poland” reports on Twitter that one of his videos was demonetized due to a Chinese word on the T-shirt of one of his friends, which was classified as “extreme obscenity.”
The scene in question is neither in the first 7 or 15 seconds of the video, nor do obscenities occur frequently in the video. The YouTuber even explains why the word isn’t even considered an obscenity and what it means.

YouTuber “Stan from Poland” on Twitter regarding the demonetization of his video
