In Windrose, a shipyard is essential because it allows you to dock and manage your ships. You can find out how to build one and what else you can do with it here in our overview.
When can I build a shipyard? You can build the shipyard relatively early in the first chapter, but you will first need the blueprint. Complete the quest “I Need A Bigger Boat” first. Before that, you must repair your first wreck that you found at the beginning of the game.
Now go to your storage and set up the shipbuilding workshop – it needs to be covered. A small slanted roof over the workshop is sufficient. Now build an item in the shipbuilding workshop menu, e.g., the cannons “12-pounder”. Afterwards, you will automatically unlock the blueprint for the shipyard.
In the building menu under “Crafting & Tools” is the shipyard. For the construction, you now need 10 wood and 10 coarse fabric. The shipyard does not need to be covered and can be placed at the edge of your settlement.
Both workshops are essential for upgrading your ship. While you can create your upgrades at the shipbuilding workshop, the shipyard allows you to place them.
What can the shipyard do? The shipyard allows you to manage your ship. The functions primarily include equipping various gear for your crew or cannons of different sizes. Aside from that, you can also customize the appearance of your ship.
