Last Sunday, everything revolved around “catching art” in Pokémon GO. While the event received some praise, there was also some frustration.
What kind of event was that? The catching art event took place on Sunday, March 5, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
There was plenty of time to engage with the special event spawns. These primarily included:
Machop and Hitmonchan in the wild
Slakoth in the 7 km eggs
And Hitmontop from research
The catch was that you received double XP when you caught monsters with great, excellent, or fabulous curveballs. This made the event a good opportunity to improve your XP account. Additionally, there was supposed to be an increased shiny rate.
Now the event is over – and the feedback is mixed.
Praise and criticism for the catching art event
Looking around in the Pokémon GO community, it’s noticeable that the event was able to excite some trainers while heavily frustrating others.
This was praised: Among other things, there was praise for the long time slot of 10 hours that players were able to use on Sunday to play the event. This was highlighted by user Uunikana (via reddit) – as especially the short time windows, such as during community days, have already caused annoyance for many players. The XP collection opportunity was also praised.
Moreover, the principle itself was well received – the mix of wild, research, and egg spawns received positive feedback: “That was a refreshing event format, and I hope Niantic will implement it with more Pokémon lines in the future,” said user “Jerb22” (via reddit): “I don’t understand why people are complaining about it, except that Hitmontop is hard to catch.”
But that seemed to annoy some trainers a lot. Or as one user summarizes in the Pokémon GO subreddit “TheSilphRoad”: “Great event format, but terrible Pokémon” (via reddit).
This receives criticism: In the subreddits for Pokémon GO, the selection of event Pokémon has been criticized. Particularly Hitmontop, which could be obtained up to 40 times in research, apparently frustrated a whole bunch of trainers. The constantly dancing Fighting Pokémon turned out to be quite tough and difficult to catch. Some posts in the Pokémon GO subreddit are particularly dealing with Hitmontop and the frustration over this monster. Some trainers call it useless and claim it costs just too many PokéBalls to catch it (via reddit).

Moreover, other trainers pointed out further criticisms. Some simply called the event boring, while others criticized that it would be more interesting with more useful monsters. Additionally, some were annoyed that they didn’t get a shiny in the event – even though the shiny rate was increased.

On March 2, Mizkif held a Q&A on Twitch together with the OTK streamer “ExtraEmily” and spoke there about a 3 million dollar offer from Twitch and why he declined it.
What kind of offer was it? During the Q&A, Mizkif reveals that Twitch offered him 3 million US dollars per year two years ago. However, the streaming platform would have collected all revenues from his Twitch streams, including subs.
Additionally, Mizkif would have been required to stream 150 hours per month, and Twitch would have played a certain number of minutes of ads per hour on his channel.
I’ll tell you this. Twitch offered me a contract two years ago and said: “Miz, we’ll pay you 3 million dollars a year,” or something like that, “and you need to stream 150 hours a month. But […] subs don’t matter. We’ll run ads on your channel,” about 4 minutes per hour or whatever it was, “and you don’t earn any money through Twitch; we take it all. But we guarantee you’ll get 3 million at the end of the year.”

Why did he decline? As Mizkif explains, he declined Twitch’s offer because he felt that he wouldn’t have to develop anymore. The deal would have made him feel like he could just sit around and do nothing.
In his opinion, it wouldn’t have been interesting for him if he had the guarantee that he only had to stream, and he prefers to work goal-oriented. For example, a sub-goal motivates him to stream more.

That means the offer, or the guaranteed income that comes with it, does not fit Mizkif’s goal-oriented way of working. A goal he could orient himself to and try to achieve would completely disappear if he received 3 million dollars per year, regardless of the quality of the streams.
Before Mizkif spoke about Twitch’s offer in the Q&A, he was asked if he would switch to the controversial streaming platform “Kick” for 10 million dollars. He answered the question with “No” and explained he wouldn’t switch even for 50 million (via Twitch).
For this statement, he gave several reasons. On one hand, switching would harm the group OTK; on the other hand, he has reached a point in his career where he no longer has to worry about money.
More money wouldn’t change his life, Mizkif said. He doesn’t like “fancy” clothes, plays Valorant, doesn’t even buy skins, and watches anime. He doesn’t need the 10 million and has enough money.
The German streamer MontanaBlack also spoke about the streaming platform Kick and what he wants in order to leave Twitch:
League of Legends regularly releases new champions. Now they have introduced the new character: Milio, the protective flame, is planned as an enchanter for the support role.
What makes him unique? Among the more than 160 champions, there are currently several male supporters. However, Milio stands out because he is considered an “enchanter.” This has thus far only been reserved for female champions.
The protective flame is a character from the region Ixtal. This region also includes other elemental mages, such as Qiyana and Neeko. While Qiyana receives different effects due to various elements, Neeko can camouflage and transform. A bug even caused Neeko to become a tower.
Milio masters fire magic, and he calls his little fire companions “Fuemigos.” He uses them both to heal and to deal damage.

What can the supporter do? The character is designed as an enchanter and supports his lane partners in many different situations.
In the leak video (via YouTube), the champion’s abilities are showcased. With his Q ability, Milio can stun enemy champions. If he does not hit a character directly, they are only slowed down.
With his W ability, he can attach his Fuemigo to an ally. The Fuemigo then follows the champion and enhances their attacks and range. Affected allies receive a marking above their character.
The E ability is a shield that can already be seen in the League of Legends trailer video. Both Milio and an ally receive a shield.
Additionally, the ultimate ability provides many opportunities for support. With it, Milio can free champions who have been affected by crowd control effects. Furthermore, his allies are healed. In the video, you can see how the supporter frees Caitlyn from Urgot’s ultimate ability. Until now, this has not been possible.
We cannot say anything about his passive ability yet, as there is not enough information in the leak video.
What’s next? Riot Games has begun sharing the story of Milio on Twitter. There, his diary entries are shared. The character is on a journey to make his family proud.
On the League of Legends channel (via YouTube), the champion music has been released so far, and we can expect more news from Milio.

Bellatores is an upcoming MMORPG set in the Middle Ages, developed on Unreal Engine 5. After many months of silence, the developers reveal new information.
What kind of game is this? Bellatores is an MMORPG set in the Middle Ages that includes fantasy elements. You create a character and choose from different races, but do not set a class.
The MMORPG offers a combination of survival, PvE, and PvP, aiming for realism. “It allows players to live as if they were actually in a medieval fantasy world,” say the developers in an interview with WCCFTech.
In Bellatores, there will be various factions competing against each other – conflicts, wars, and political activities are relevant. PvP in the open world is possible and will be a clear focus.
In the combat system, the developers rely on tab-targeting. Players are expected to proceed strategically and make quick decisions.
Additionally, the economy led by players plays an important role. You hunt, gather, and craft to trade with your fellow players.
What other content does it offer?
Within the story, you should be able to make decisions that affect the course of the game.
A dynamic game world that changes over time.
Dungeons and raids in the open world instead of in closed instances. Through open PvP, players can attack each other during gameplay.

Reportedly Received Much Money for Development
The developers reportedly received a lot of money for the realization of the MMORPG, as revealed on their website. Through investors, Bellatores has already cost more than 44 million euros in 2020. In addition, Nyou has its own earnings from mobile games.
After announcing the high amount, the studio was silent for months. In April 2022, a report about further investments appeared, since then nothing has been heard.
A small group of fans eager to play Bellatores occasionally asked in Discord if there was any new information. Very little was generally known about the gameplay – until now.
For fans of the Middle Ages and PvP, Bellatores could become a promising title.

However, in the trailer, another design as well as the element “strand” can be seen based on green projectiles. This relates to the catalyst which gives the weapon the strand element. You just have to unlock this.

Destiny 2: Lightfall had a bad start. Also because of the newly introduced subclass, which just felt bad in its standard version. But just 1 single fragment makes everything better. We tell you which one and why.
Why is the new subclass Strand so unpopular? Already during the campaign, the ability didn’t feel strong enough. In many missions where you should use “Strand”, it was nothing but a massive handicap.
The second killer was the long cooldowns of the new Lightfall ability “Strand”. You had top-notch mobility, which is really good, but the long cooldowns killed that momentum.
At least Bungie responded just 4 days after launch with initial changes, immediately releasing all fragments of “Strand”.
The removal of the time gate was therefore a good idea. Because just 1 single of the new Strand fragments now makes everything significantly better and could have played a big role in Bungie’s decision. We show you and explain how it works best.

“Thread of Generation” almost saves the entire subclass
What makes it better now? Players and content creators immediately set out to test the new fragments that Bungie unlocked and quickly found results.
The Strand fragment “Thread of Generation” generates your grenade energy when you deal damage.
If you use this fragment in a Strand build, any damage – including weapon damage, ability damage, and damage over time – generates your grenade energy.

The fragment works excellently even with regular weapons. Even better results can be achieved with options that deal damage over time, such as the exotic submachine gun “Osteo-Striga”, the exo-bow “Le Monarque”, or the Warlock gloves “Necrotic Grip”. This way, the regenerated ability energy adds up quite solidly and the grapple cooldown is noticeably shortened with each tick.
Good to know: “Thread of Generation” also works with all grenades. You can use it for both the Threading Grenade and the Snare Grenade – not just for the Grapple.
Additionally, mods like “Grenade Kickstart” can also be used, as the “Thread of Generation” fragment of Strand means -10 discipline reduction for your build.
So if you haven’t unlocked the fragment yet, you should prioritize it at least now. Since you can only purchase the fragments with a specific resource, we have shown you a few effective ways to farm “Strand Meditations” quickly.

It seems that we in the West are not getting the version of Blue Protocol that was intended for Japan, but rather a “modified, censored version”.
It also seems that this is not only the case in “data mining”, but reddit users have discovered models of the NPCs in the US trailers that differ from the models in the Japanese trailers.

Does Amazon Only Censor “Childlike” Models?
How can this also be seen? The model that is censored there is known as the “Desert NPC.” The character appears childlike.
One might speculate now that Amazon is only altering models that appear very young to counter “pedophilia” accusations.
Some on reddit believe: Amazon would intentionally avoid showing these childlike characters present in the Japanese trailers (via imgur) in the West because Amazon knows it would trigger a censorship discussion.
Such childlike “loli” characters and their representation in Asian games are a sensitive topic in the West because views on this differ greatly from East to West.
In the discussion on reddit, players refer to the character merely as “S-Size-Character,” the fact that it could be a child depicted as midriff-baring does not matter in the discussion.
On reddit, a large part of the players reject Amazon’s general interference. They should leave the game as it was intended by the developers.
The exact same discussion had occurred prior to the release of Lost Ark. Also an MMORPG that originates from Asia and was distributed in Europe by Amazon:
The MMORPG Runescape (Steam) is known for its hardcore community. But what a player recently posted on reddit even forced the toughest fans to show respect: The YouTuber Devious has spent 19,100 hours torturing himself through all four “Ironman” modes of the MMORPG. However, there were also some biting questions about what the man was doing with his life instead.
What you need to know to understand what he accomplished:
Oldschool Runescape is a version of the MMORPG Runescape (2001), based on how the MMORPG was in 2007. This version is also being developed further, similar to WoW Classic.
In October 2014, the game received various “Ironman modes.” These modes can be activated when leaving the tutorial island and when one feels like truly torturing oneself.
Each of these modes makes Runescape harder, as it excludes certain features that would otherwise allow you to acquire items and make the game easier:
In “Standard Iron Man,” you cannot trade, receive loot from player kills, disassemble dropped items, and certain multiplayer modes are locked.
In “Hardcore Iron Man,” players additionally only have one life. If you die, you revert to Standard Iron Man. Many people know (and hate) this hardcore mechanic from Diablo.
In “Ultimate Iron Man,” you cannot even use the bank and face even more restrictions.
Additionally, there is also “Hardcore Group Iron Man” – here you are allowed to play with a group of close friends.

What did the man do? The Reddit user and YouTuber Devious (104,000 subscribers) has maxed out 4 Ironman characters in the 4 described variants.
“Maximum” means in Oldschool Runescape: He leveled all skills of the characters to 99: this is therefore harder and more demanding than simply reaching the maximum level in another game.
To complete all 4 modes and maximize the characters, he needed 19,217 hours. He says he did this in eight and a half years:
The man played more than 6 hours of Runescape daily for 8.5 years – including Sundays and holidays.
That he managed to maximize characters in all 4 Iron-Man modes is generally regarded as an incredible achievement. As something that requires an immense amount of effort and dedication, and that even the creators did not foresee.

I played casually when I was a child. I never maxed an account in R3, but I have many 99s. When Oldschool Runescape came out, I grinded quite hard. I was one of the first 10 people to reach 99 in Smithing after the game’s release and was in the top 200 of Slayers.
But things really took off for him only when Iron Man was added to Oldschool Runescape.
He had set himself the goal of being the first to max out all 3 solo variants but lost the race narrowly.
When the “Group variant” was released, he wanted to give it another shot and went for it.
What did he spend the most time on? Devious actually needed the longest time for the “easiest” mode, Standard Iron Man.
He says this is because everything was new at the time, and Runescape was much harder than it is today:
To get 99 Runecrafting, you had to kill 10,000 Zulrah bosses to get 1 million Pure Essence, and then you used the essence to forge Lava runes to 99. That alone was completely insane compared to how it is today; now you can just do Runecrafting mini-games.

How do people react? On reddit, many are excited and impressed by the achievement. But there are also some nasty comments. There are mentions of bots or multi-accounts.
And there are also personal attacks. It implies: If you play like this, your life must be much worse than yours.
The player himself points out some reddit posts attacking him, stating he has “0 personal contacts” – “Would never shower” and similar things. One reddit user even wrote that it is “sad and pitiable.”
