The YouTuber Max “HandOfBlood” Knabe hosted his “Influencer Darts World Championship” on April 27 on Twitch in a cozy pub atmosphere. We at MeinMMO show you how it went.
What kind of event was that? At the end of January, HandOfBlood announced his darts event as an alternative to official tournaments like the WM Alexandra Palaca: “Ally Pally for the poor” in a bar, with crazy hairstyles and beer (via Twitter).
Yesterday, on April 27, the event took place and was broadcast live on the rarely used Twitch channel of HandOfBlood. You can read information about the participants here:
Who won? The most important thing upfront: The victory went to Marcel “Scorpion” Althaus and the drag queen Milo “Aria Addams” Pochylski. Aria Addams impressed not only with a flawless style but also with surprising darts skills.
The participation of MarcelScorpion, on the other hand, sparked some discussions among the viewers (via Twitter), as the YouTuber was the only participant with professional darts experience and even triumphed over darts legend John Henderson in March (via sport1).
Some viewers in the chat therefore complained that MarcelScorpion’s team had an unfair advantage. In the final, the YouTuber then demonstrated all his skills and threw a 180: This is a darts term that denotes the highest score achievable with 3 darts.
We’ve embedded the decisive moment for you here:

But even outside of the big final, there were plenty of special moments.
Relaxed bar atmosphere
How was the mood? A highlight of the evening was definitely the atmosphere. Viewers and participants were in good spirits, and even the attending paramedics weren’t shy about a few light-hearted remarks.
As participant Sterzik was just preparing for his first throw, an inattentive cameraman walked right in front of the target. No one was injured, which seemed to disappoint the paramedic a bit during his conversation with the evening’s reporters:

How does Hänno look? Organizer HandOfBlood had already announced in advance that extraordinary hairstyles would play an important role in the event. Of course, the YouTuber had to deliver himself. For his look, he drew inspiration from Scottish darts pro Peter Wright.
The result was a red-dyed mohawk with a dedication to his LoL team Eintracht Spandau (via Twitter). Participant Sterzik also impressed with a shaved artwork on the back of his head:

What did Broeki do? Anyone who follows the German LoL scene around Eintracht Spandau and No Need Orga knows that when it gets serious, Daniel “Broeki” Broekmann drops his pants. His team already owed their promotion to the 1st league to this special tactic – and perhaps also some gaming skills (via Twitter).
Given this background, it might not be too surprising that Broeki created a bit of extra legroom in the quarter-finals against Simon and Eddy from the Rocket Beans. In the end, however, the Rocket Beans narrowly triumphed.

Overall, the tournament was a complete success for HandOfBlood with up to 40,000 viewers and a lively atmosphere on-site and in the chat. Whether this will be a one-time fun event or the beginning of an annual tradition remains to be seen.
Patch 10.1 of World of Warcraft launches in a few days and brings many changes. We’ll tell you what’s in store for your class.
The first substantial content update for World of Warcraft Dragonflight is on the horizon. Patch 10.1 Ashes of Neltharion launches on May 3 and brings a whole host of highlights. There will be not only new areas and a fresh raid but also numerous adjustments for most classes. To ensure you’re prepared, we summarize the most important changes for the classes.
[toc]
Death Knight
For the Death Knight, comparatively little changes. The current tier set from the Vault of the Incarnates becomes slightly weaker for Frost Death Knights. However, Blizzard lends a hand to the Unholy Death Knight, significantly increasing their damage output. Harvesting, Decrepit Wounds, Death Strike, and Death’s Caress will each deal more damage, all in the double-digit percentage range.
Demon Hunter
For the Demon Hunter, there are only adjustments to the Havoc specialization, and these are minor. The talents for “Throw Glaive” are being slightly adjusted, making the ability more worthwhile even against single targets. The set bonus from the Vault of the Incarnates is drastically nerfed, and “Fuel for the Flame” only heals 20% of maximum health instead of 25%.
Druid
For the Druid, there are a whole lot of detail changes; it’s best to check out the full patch notes for these.
In summary, the damage of many abilities has been significantly increased, and some talents have been revised to allow for more flexibility to experiment with different talents beyond the most popular ones. Abilities that consume Astral Power will now be more powerful and feel more rewarding compared to abilities that generate Astral Power.
Feral Druids can enjoy numerous buffs. Almost all damage abilities have been strengthened, dealing between 7% and 22% more damage. Therefore, Feral Druids should be a welcome addition to dungeon groups in the future.
Guardian and Restoration Druids remain virtually unchanged. The Guardian gets just a few new animations, while Restoration has a small nerf to “Wild Growth,” which is due to a bug fix.
The intro to Patch 10.1 can be seen here:

WoW: New cinematic ‘Opening the Path’ shows the new plan of the dragons
Invoker
The new class in Dragonflight isn’t running quite as smoothly as the developers would like, which is why there are some significant changes to the “Devastation” specialization.
The adjustments aim to avoid an unattractive playstyle where Invokers immediately cancel their “Disintegration” to maintain the effect of “Dragon Wrath.” Therefore, Disintegration is being adjusted through talents so that it is worthwhile to cast the spell completely. Further down the talent tree, there are also some overhauls and even completely new talents that should provide more variety in playstyles.
Hunter
Hunters receive a wider range of adjustments that impact all three specializations. Notably, “Revive Pet” will now be a physical spell rather than a nature spell. As a result, the ability can no longer be interrupted by silences or interrupts.
Beast Mastery Hunters can mark up to three targets with the Cobra Shot (previously 2), and the damage bonus from Serpent Sting has been significantly increased. Additionally, Pterrordax pets can finally function correctly with the “Pet Companion” talent.
Marksmanship Hunters receive a small adjustment to some talents. “Deadly Shots” is replaced by “In the Rhythm” and grants 12% haste for 6 seconds each time Barrage is channeled. The talent “Perfect Aim” now requires only one talent point but offers the same benefits as before.
Survival Hunters will see the set bonus from the Vault of the Incarnates massively nerfed. However, they gain an additional 8% damage from all abilities (including their pet’s abilities). In general, this is a clear buff that will become even more significant with the new tier set from Aberrus.
For Hunters, things are looking up again.
Mage
For Mages, the summary is straightforward: All Mages are getting better. Both Arcane, Frost, and Fire are receiving buffs to many abilities, which range from 8% to 15%. Consequently, the class should rank significantly higher in the DPS rankings soon and regain more importance in dungeons.
Monk
The healing of Mistweavers was a bit too unreliable for the developers as it heavily depended on chance for some abilities. This did not suit the specialization and will be changed. “Revive” will now generate 50% more primary healing, while “Soothing Mist” becomes slightly weaker. The PvP talent “Cocooning” will be moved to the PvE talent tree. Finally, the cooldown of “Feyline Stomp” is reduced by a whopping 10 seconds, allowing it to be used more frequently.
For Brewmaster, there’s only an update to a tooltip – no significant changes.
Paladin
The Paladin just had a major overhaul with Patch 10.0.5, so the changes are comparatively minor and largely consist of bug fixes.
Holy Paladins are receiving an overhaul of “Crusade of Vengeance.” While the ability is active, many of your abilities will have reduced cooldowns and heal allies for nearly 600% of the damage done, which will also benefit from the mastery: Lightbringer.
Retribution Paladins will get a few nerfs to their healing abilities and otherwise primarily bug fixes.
Paladins needed a small setback.
Rogue
For Rogues, there are almost no changes. Only the healing from Culling Darkness is reduced from 30% of max health to 24%. This coincides with a major change to character HP.
Shaman
For Shamans, the talent “Deep-Rooted Elements” has been overhauled to trigger more regularly and reliably.
Elemental Shamans are receiving buffs for many of their damage spells, which are only active in PvE. Lava Eruption, Elemental Strike, Earth Shock, and Lightning Bolt all deal between 6% and 12% more damage.
Enhancement Shamans receive some adjustments. All damage is increased by 5%, and some smaller tweaks to talents have been made to ensure that Lightning spells can prioritize consuming Maelstrom. As with many other classes, the tier set from the Vault of the Incarnates has also been slightly weakened.
Warlock
For Warlocks, not much changes. “Demon Skin” has been slightly nerfed in its effectiveness.
Demonology Warlocks receive only tooltip revisions and changes to talent names to make them clearer.
Destruction Warlocks receive small buffs. Ruin no longer increases the damage of “Channel Demonfire”; instead, the spell generally deals 20% more damage. Shadowburn also now deals 20% more damage.
Warrior
Warriors will only receive a few adjustments and bug fixes that should have minimal impact on gameplay.
Arms Warriors are pleased that “Bloodletting” will now cause “Deadly Strike” to inflict Wounded on targets with less than 35% health.
Otherwise, primarily the healing effects of the Warrior have been adjusted to be slightly less efficient regarding total HP. This is mainly because the maximum HP of all characters has increased by 25%.
For Priests, there are drastic adjustments.
Priest
For the Priest, there are numerous changes – some buffs and some nerfs. For instance, “Shadow Word: Death” now has a 10-second cooldown, while multiple control effects (Psychic Scream, Void Tendril) can now affect an unlimited number of targets.
Discipline Priests receive small buffs for their Divine Aegis and Power Word: Radiance; otherwise, it’s mainly bug fixes.
The changes to Shadow Priests are detailed further down, as they receive a major overhaul.
Holy Priests receive some changes to “Divine Image” such that only one Naaru is summoned, which becomes increasingly stronger. This way, the battlefield should no longer be cluttered with images.
The most significant changes are for the Shadow Priest specialization. Since the launch of Dragonflight, it hasn’t been working smoothly and is commonly associated with demanding, opaque gameplay with too many buttons. Blizzard now aims to address this.
The Shadow Priest will now generate their area damage solely through “Multi-Dotting,” thus the spell “Mind Explosion” is being completely removed. Instead, “Psychic Link” will become a new “Must Have,” as it duplicates the damage of all single-target abilities (except Shadow Word: Pain and Vampiric Touch) to some other targets.
In general, the further adjustments aim to allow the Priest to specialize in different aspects, such as:
Reduced cooldowns
Regular damage effects (dots)
Critical damage
Shadowy apparitions
Priests can also increase their maximum insanity to up to 150, allowing them to save more charges of “Devouring Plague” – the only ability that still consumes insanity.
However, it’s somewhat harsh that Shadow Priests will also lose their last vestiges of mobility and will likely fall behind other classes in fights with intense movement, as they can barely cast spells while moving.
The changes are provoking mixed reactions within the community. While some are pleased with a few simplifications, others criticize the peculiar paths Blizzard is taking for the Shadow Priest. It has become necessary in the talent tree to choose talents that come with negative properties and then remove them later through further talents.
What do you think of the adjustments to your class? Are you satisfied with what Blizzard is doing with your class?

MeinMMO editor Maik Schneider has been accompanying Call of Duty for over 3.5 years and had high hopes for Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2. 6 months and 2 major disappointments later, the shooter franchise has fewer players than after CoD Vanguard.
Call of Duty has been with me for about 15 years of my life. Before my work at MeinMMO, it was rather in the background noise. Since CoD MW 2019, it has been my job.
And it was really fun in 2020.
The reboot of Modern Warfare was very well received and ran steadily with high player numbers and much interest from the community for over six months. When we at MeinMMO noticed that interest was waning, suddenly CoD Warzone (and the Corona lockdown) came.
Call of Duty practically exploded.
Publisher Activision then celebrated the peak in Q1 2021. In the quarterly report, they were able to celebrate 150 million “Monthly Active Users” (MAUs). To this day, the highest value for Activision in such a report. But since then, things have been declining.
And if you ask me, CoD is currently having its worst year in a long time.
MW2: Big name, but fewer players than in the Vanguard era
Why is the current year so bad? Let’s first look at the bare numbers. The latest report does show strong revenue figures – CoD was able to increase nearly 30% in the comparison period (via activision.com).
But the player numbers tell a different story:
As of March 31, 2022, the report counted 100 million MAUs
As of March 31, 2023, the report counted 98 million MAUs
The numbers are still impressive compared to other games. The report provides a context. The business segment “Blizzard” with its big titles WoW, Diablo, and Overwatch had 27 million MAUs in March 2023.
However, the fact that Call of Duty currently has fewer players than in the Q1-2022 report already indicates that something went wrong this year.
At least with Modern Warfare 2, we got the successor from CoD MW 2019 that fans demanded and achieved a record release. With Warzone 2, a new version of the mega-successful Battle Royale also came.
What happened there? Let’s forget the numbers and look at the situation from a player’s perspective. Someone like me, who tends to get hyped and actually looks forward to a new Call of Duty every year.
For me, it was the worst year in a long time, and it was due to the technical condition.
The first days of CoD MW2 were plagued by a nasty social bug. You could only invite friends awkwardly and after almost every match, someone was kicked from the group. In addition, the shooter started completely without a stats menu – a standard feature was simply missing at release.
Bugs in the game still sometimes cause me to close MW2 immediately after starting. More often, Call of Duty reminds me to buy Modern Warfare 2 in order to play it. But I have owned it since release. My teammates have similar issues.
Then Warzone 2 came and brought server problems.
Here too, my hype was stifled in its infancy. In the first weeks, we had only a few matches without problems. The connection fluctuated, battles were affected, and frustration rose. Warzone 2 ended for me even faster than CoD MW2.
My research in the community showed me that many players were struggling with similar issues. Additionally, there were contentious design decisions regarding the user interface and gameplay.
Since the delay of Season 2 in February, things have been improving – at least from a technical standpoint. The thing is: we had a similar situation a year before.
Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 needed a release delay.
Both games built hype but were technically untidy and didn’t provide enough (new) content right after the release to remain motivating. With Shipment and Shoot House, CoD MW2 didn’t even get new maps in Season 1, but rather reworks.
I think: even after CoD Vanguard, the sharp decline in player numbers was not only due to the setting, which was controversially discussed. It was due to the state of the game, and we have exactly the same problem this year.
What do you think about it? Do you have any questions on the topic? Leave a comment.

Is HoYoverse planning more multiplayer features in the future? So far, no official information about additional multiplayer features in Honkai: Star Rail has been announced.
Unlike their previous RPG Genshin Impact, which is a multiplayer game, the focus in Honkai: Star Rail may be more on single-player content. However, it remains to be seen how the space RPG will develop further.
Here you can find an in-depth opinion on Honkai: Star Rail:
Due to a communication error, there was a notion that you could only use your mounts in Diablo 4 after completing the campaign. However, Blizzard has clarified the case of the horses and made it clear when you are allowed to ride.
What was the error? In its latest blog post for Diablo 4, Blizzard talked about various things regarding skills, transmogrification, and equipment. Additionally, there was a section in this blog that described when mounts are unlocked and how it works with the cosmetic items.
Initially, Blizzard reported that mounts are “unlocked after completing the main questline with a character.” However, this was incorrect, and as a result, the paragraph was amended: “Unlocked by completing a questline while you progress naturally through the main story campaign.”.
However, the change came too late, and the message spread everywhere that players would only be able to learn to ride at a much later time, which will not be the case now.
With a mount, you will also find it easier to ride into the endgame of Diablo 4:

Diablo 4: Insight into the Endgame
Mounts are tied to a quest that you can complete early
When can mounts be unlocked? Anyone who participated in the beta of Diablo 4 has probably already visited the stables. There is a kind stable master there waiting to give you a quest for your mount. However, you cannot accept it, as you are only allowed to play this in the full version.
The quest is called “Mount Donan’s Favor” and can only be played later in the main campaign. Players on Reddit suspect that the quest can only be played in Act 2, when you are allowed to explore further parts of Sanctuary.
Currently, it is still unclear when exactly this quest will be available. MeinMMO has already inquired with the developers about when the quest will be released. However, we have not yet received a response.
Now you know when to unlock the mount, but what about the cosmetic items that are rare and hard to obtain? Blizzard also offers more information on that.
Do cosmetic items for mounts need to be unlocked again? Blizzard has more to announce in its amended blog post:
Mounts are unlocked by completing a questline while you progress naturally through the main story campaign. Mounts come with a variety of customization options, such as different types of mounts, armor, and trophies. One example is the “Cry of Ashava” mount trophy reward, which can be earned during the upcoming server slam. These adornments transform your trusty old steed into a hellish warhorse. Mount trophies can be attached to the flank or saddle of your horse. There are dozens of trophies in Sanctuary.
Once a mount is unlocked, it can be used across all game modes for all characters created by the player.
Blizzard is referring here to “Once a mount is unlocked” and not “Once your mount is unlocked.” It is therefore quite possible that the developers are referring to the skins of your mounts in the singular rather than your actual mount, as there is only one of those.
We have also inquired with the developers on this, as the wording is somewhat unclear.
So far, we assume that all trophies, skins, and armors for your mounts need to be obtained only once and apply to your entire account and all heroes.
This would also fit in with the fact that during the upcoming beta, a mount skin can be unlocked, but the progress of the beta character will not be carried over to the main game.
What do you think about the mount feature so far? Do you think they are useful, or would you rather explore Sanctuary on foot? Let us know in the comments!
In 2019, League of Legends tested a system that would have changed your rank matches forever. However, Riot Games scrapped it because players were increasingly dissatisfied.
What was that system? League of Legends tested a position-based rank on North American and South Korean servers in 2019.
A position-based rank means you would be assigned a different rank based on your position. So, someone who mainly plays Jungle could be ranked Diamond there, while they were Gold on the Top Lane because they only played there occasionally and at a lower level.
What came of it? In March 2019, Riot Games announced that they would not pursue the position-based rank further. Further testing and development of the system were canceled (via nexus.leagueoflegends.com)
Why did Riot Games scrap the position-based rank? As the “Riot Games” employee Ed “SapMagic” Altorfer revealed, the change led to frustration among players. Surveys among players showed that overall satisfaction at the time of testing had dropped by 20-30%.
According to SapMagic, players complained that matches on the so-called off-positions were too exhausting and many teammates who played on an off-position did not put in effort and did not take the match seriously because it did not affect their rank on their main position.

7 Facts about LoL that only true veterans know
How would this have affected things? A position-based rank would have changed LoL’s matchmaking forever. Today, you have the same rank on each position, regardless of whether it’s your main role or you only play it once in a blue moon.
The result is that you could play in a lobby at Master Elo, even though your skills on the played role are significantly lower. You would still be assigned to the match because your skills in another role are at Master level.
Star Wars: Jedi Survivor has launched on Steam, but the initial reviews are terrible. This is mainly due to its poor optimization. Many people complain: Even with top hardware, the FPS remains extremely low.
The new Star Wars: Jedi Survivor was supposed to follow in the footsteps of the excellent Jedi: Fallen Order. But the early reviews are horrifying, with an overall rating of just under 29% (from about 1,000 reviews) in the basement.
Many PC gamers say: We have top hardware and yet we cannot play the new game properly.
40 FPS with RTX 4090 – Players complain about weak port
The bad mood mainly arises due to the weak PC port. While the game is supposed to run significantly more stable on PS5 and Xbox, the performance on the PC fluctuates greatly. One person wrote sarcastically on Steam: “A RTX 3090 is not good enough for the game.”
And a GeForce RTX 3090 is indeed high-end hardware, costing you at least 1,500 Euros.
The game is extremely fun, but the performance is terrible. I use a 3090 FE and a 5700x and I get a constant speed of 30 fps in some areas. Other areas give me a mostly consistent 45. This is at 1440p. Lowering the settings and using FSR makes no difference at all. And it goes up to about 19 GB of VRAM. It’s a great game, but definitely wait unless you have 24 GB of VRAM and don’t mind playing games at 30 fps.
Others explain that their hardware significantly exceeds the recommended system requirements for the game. EA recommends a graphics card with 8GB of VRAM and at least an RTX 2070 or RX 6700 XT.
But that wouldn’t help, as the game would still crash or the hardware would get very hot. A German user writes on Steam:
My setup is far above the recommended requirements for this game. I can’t even get into the game’s menu, as it crashes every time beforehand.
Many, however, explain: The game itself is great, the story is superb, and the gameplay is incredibly entertaining, just like the predecessor.
Star Wars: Jedi Survivor is not the first game to be punished with weak reviews. The Last of Us game for PC struggled with the same problems: weak performance, crashes, and long load times. And the popular Hogwarts: Legacy also launched with performance issues.
What all these games have in common: While the games are a technical disaster on PC, they run significantly smoother on PS5 and Xbox Series X. Therefore, many players demand that the developers put a little more time and love into the PC port. Because it can’t be that you always get the worst version on PC.
With Cassette Beasts, there is now a new game on Steam and console that is reminiscent of Pokémon. The special thing is that you are the monster.
What kind of game is it? Cassette Beasts is a new game in the style of Pokémon that was released on April 26 on Steam. In addition, it is set to be released for Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox, and Series X|S.
Unlike modern Pokémon games or the Pokémon MMO Temtem, Cassette Beasts does not rely on modern 3D graphics but instead comes in a classic retro design.
You catch the various monsters in cassettes instead of balls and fight with them against other trainers.
What characterizes the gameplay? For the turn-based combat system, Cassette Beasts has come up with a special twist, as you do not simply send the captured monsters into battle; you transform into your companions.
The game also features a local co-op mode that allows you to explore the open game world together with a friend from the couch.
Likewise, there is something like the Tera Crystalization of the latest Pokémon titles Scarlet and Violet. You can use “elemental chemistry” to change the elemental type of your monster. Moreover, you can fuse two of your monsters together to create a new creature.
We have embedded the launch trailer for Cassette Beasts here:

Cassette Beasts PC Release Trailer
How did the release go? The launch of the indie title seems to be going pretty well so far. Of course, one cannot expect player numbers like those of a Pokémon game, but the player peak on release day on Steam was a solid 1,741 concurrent players (via SteamDB).
Additionally, the first reviews are shining a positive light on Cassette Beasts.
On Steam, the role-playing game received 150 reviews one day after release, with 92% being positive.
On the review platform metacritic, nine more reviews were added, achieving an average score of 86.
In 2023, another game titled Palworld is set to be released that is reminiscent of the gameplay of Pokémon – however, it also brings firearms and survival gameplay.
More than a third of all users at Blizzard have disappeared in the last quarter. Nevertheless, there is great satisfaction – and there are many reasons for that.
Every 3 months, Activision Blizzard publishes the rough key figures regarding revenues and the general state of the company. This is to inform the shareholders about the current situation at Activision Blizzard and what the plans for the near future are.
Blizzard, in particular, had to take quite a hit, as they lost 40% of their users. The reason for this, however, could be quite simple – and apparently, the numbers are hardly affected by it.
What has changed at Blizzard? Even for the 4th quarter of 2022, Blizzard reported a total of 45 million monthly active users (“MAUs”). However, in the 1st quarter of 2023, this number has drastically dropped, with only 27 million MAUs now recorded.
This is a decrease of 40% compared to the last quarter. Compared to the 1st quarter of 2022 – in year-on-year comparison – the value has actually increased. Back then, there were only 22 million MAUs.
Where does the significant decline come from? The main reason for the massive drop in numbers is likely the incident with NetEase in China. Blizzard had a falling out with their Chinese partner, which led to World of Warcraft and other Blizzard games being unavailable in China since the end of January. All those Chinese WoW or Hearthstone players are therefore eliminated as monthly users – because they simply no longer have access to the games.
How is Blizzard doing in general? Based on the pure numbers, quite well – despite the loss of the Chinese player base. Blizzard alone is said to have achieved a growth of 62% in revenue compared to the 1st quarter of 2022. All three major franchises, namely Warcraft, Overwatch, and Diablo, are said to have contributed to this growth, especially with the pre-order for Diablo IV having had a significant impact.
The development of Overwatch 2 and World of Warcraft is particularly highlighted, as both games receive content faster and more of it, which is well received by the players.
World of Warcraft can retain significantly more subscribers in the West than has been the case with other expansions in recent history.
Interest in Overwatch has decreased somewhat; however, Season 3 ran significantly more successfully than Season 2. The playtime is still at double the level compared to before the switch to Free2Play.
Diablo Immortal contributed significantly to growth, whether on mobile or PC.
Diablo IV has strong pre-orders, and it is expected that this will increase significantly on the release date in June.
The English Twitch streamer Lou, also known as “Poopernoodle”, wanted to open a new bank account. However, her application was immediately rejected when she accidentally provided an ambiguous job title.
How did this happen? Content creators often have a hard time explaining how they earn their money. A Twitch streamer, who performs online under the name “Poopernoodle”, faced this problem.
When she tried to request a card from a new bank online, there was no option for “I stream Lost Ark to nearly 500 viewers” under employment (via TwitchTracker). In her desperation, Poopernoodle chose the title that seemed closest to her job group – and was promptly rejected.

Twitch streamer accidentally posed as a sex worker
What did the streamer state? As Poopernoodle scrolled through a dropdown menu of possible job titles, she fell into a misconception: That she, as an adult woman entertaining people online, was an adult entertainer:
A few months ago, I applied at a very popular bank where you can use your card abroad. I was asked about my profession, and nothing really fit except […] “Online Adult Entertainer” [which translates to: “Adult Online Entertainer”], and I checked that.
I thought “Yes, that’s what I am. I’m an adult and I entertain people online, and then [the system] rejected me immediately.
In a statement to Kotaku, the streamer explained that she hadn’t realized that the term was a euphemism for sex work. She only brought this to her mother’s attention, to whom she described the situation.

Why is this interesting? The streamer’s experience shows that the job description “influencer” is not as widely accepted in society as one might think when moving a lot online.
It’s quite uncomfortable to explain the job to people. [The bank application] gave me a dropdown list of job options to choose from, and those were all socially accepted professions like “Dental Assistant”. There was no option for “Streamer” or “Broadcaster” or anything like that.
On Twitter, Poopernoodle stated that she refuses to believe that other content creators haven’t made the same mistake. Helpful users gave her a tip for the future: When in doubt, the answer is always “self-employed”.
Although this case did not apply to the streamer, the incident also opened her eyes to how difficult it must be for sex workers to open an account.
A streamer who blurs the lines between content creator and sex worker is the American Kaitlyn “Amouranth” Siragusa. She seems to have had no difficulties so far in opening a bank account – perhaps she simply refers to herself as a “businesswoman”.

On Twitter, Bethesda Germany announced the PC requirements for Redfall. They are divided into three categories: minimum requirements, recommended requirements, and ultra requirements.
On which platforms is Redfall being released? On May 2, 2023, the co-op shooter will be released not only for PC but also for the Xbox Series X/S. The game will also be included in Game Pass from day one.
If you want more information about the game Redfall and its gameplay, you can find a detailed hands-on report from MeinMMO editor Maik Schneider here:
Participants in a study played Cities: Skylines on Steam to test their complex problem-solving abilities.
What is this study about? Ulrike Kipman, a professor of educational sciences, wanted to investigate the relationship between personality and depressive disorders and complex problem-solving abilities (via gamesradar+).
To see these abilities in action, study participants were to play the city simulation Cities: Skylines. In the game by the Finnish development studio Colossal Order, the goal is to build a functioning metropolis as efficiently as possible.
Players are responsible for everything from infrastructure and taxes to the health and satisfaction of the residents. The game was chosen because it “continuously confronts players with new challenges that need to be overcome.”
Study participants were 242 individuals aged between 17 and 48 with 9 different personality disorders.

Individuals with more pronounced disorders struggle more
What were the findings of the study? The study indicates that participants with more pronounced disorders were less successful in playing Cities: Skylines and thus in solving complex problems. The personality traits that most significantly impacted player success were:
schizotypal traits, characterized by social withdrawal
histrionic traits, meaning tendencies towards melodrama
depressive traits, including feelings of persistent sadness and loss of interest
Additionally, individuals with paranoid and dependent personality traits found the game more challenging, although the correlation was less pronounced. Conversely, traits such as resilience, action orientation, and design motivation had a positive effect.
Kipman is convinced of the usefulness of video games in research:
[The study shows] that we can best measure complex problem-solving abilities with simulation games and not with short tests.
If you want to prove your own problem-solving abilities, you can find Cities: Skylines, and you can get the city builder for PC or console. Highly recommended – and even mentioned in the study – is the Steam version, as the workshop offers countless additional buildings and content.
If you want to know how Cities: Skylines meets the parameters of a microworld according to Brehmer and Dörner and how it satisfies Funke’s standards of complex problems, you can read the entire study in English at Frontiers in Psychology.

The guardians in Destiny 2 are currently dreaming of a flawless loot shooter on a next-generation Unreal Engine. But why just dream? The fact that this is not so unlikely has long been hinted at by a former employee and some job descriptions.
Will Destiny 2 soon look better than ever? Perhaps not Destiny 2. But it is becoming increasingly likely for Bungie’s new and still secret project. At least if you believe the information that has been revealed online.
A new IP is supposed to take over the free-to-play model of Destiny 2.
The focus is supposed to be on competitive gaming and thus PvP.
Job postings have specified “experience with Unreal Engine 4, 5, Unity3Dor other modern development toolsets” as a requirement.
And now a former employee has also published in his profile that he “led the efforts to build a more extensive prototype [for a new game] in Unreal [Engine]” at Bungie.

Destiny 2: Lightfall – Launch Trailer
Is Bungie currently building the ultimate PvP shooter in Destiny style?
Where does the information come from? It has long been known that developer Bungie, the creator of the Halo and Destiny franchise, has been working with Sony on one or more ambitious projects for some time now.
Although the former employee and the job postings did not reveal comprehensive details, the community has still put two and two together and speculated that Bungie’s prototype IP could hint at a completely new PvP game that aims to excite players.
Engeln worked at Bungie from 2017 to 2019 initially on the development of a new game and a new IP and led efforts to “create a more extensive prototype in the Unreal [Engine].”
Between 2019 and 2020, he was co-responsible for project management for the new IP and “the creation of a robust prototype as well as the guidance of the project through the greenlight process”.
Bungie might actually be relying on the latest Unreal Engine in the ongoing development of its upcoming games, and Engeln may have ensured that it received “the green light” for funding and realization at Bungie.
What is the Unreal Engine? The Unreal Engine 5 is currently one of the most advanced gaming engines. It is developed by Epic Games, with whom Bungie is already collaborating, and has established itself as one of the leading engines in the gaming industry.
It not only offers developers a variety of tools and features to create games but also a powerful 3D rendering engine, an advanced physics engine, and a sophisticated animation system.
This allows extremely detailed 3D models to be rendered in real-time without compromising performance. In the end, a realistic and immersive gaming experience is created that blurs the lines between reality and virtuality.
By using this engine, the creator of Destiny 2 would thus rely on the latest and most modern technology and bring a sparkle to the eyes of the guardians.
It could not only mean a significant improvement for gameplay but also include impressive graphics and possibly new PvP mechanics.
At least the wait would be worthwhile: Currently, this is just a small consolation for the players in Destiny 2. Because Destiny, Bungie’s current game, is struggling with more and more bugs, which players speculate can be attributed to the old and outdated Tiger Engine.
Bungie itself has not yet officially commented on this. But the prospect that the developer may rely on a new engine, such as Unreal Engine 5, could mean a significant improvement worth waiting for.
This increases the curiosity of frustrated Destiny players about which projects are currently simmering in Bungie’s developer kitchen. Many believe that if the studio wants to continue to be among the top developers in the market and satisfy Sony, at least one of these projects must be a big success. Perhaps exclusively on the PS5.
Are you now also dreaming of a new Destiny in the Unreal Engine? Is this something you hope for Destiny 2 as well? And do you think it will be able to excite the guardians again? Then feel free to leave your opinion in the comments.
For fans of good story videos, this week was less pleasant, as a well-known streamer announced the provisional end of his Destiny career:
The new cooperative shooter Redfall (PC, Xbox Series, Xbox Game Pass) will celebrate its release on May 2nd. The new launch trailer provides a glimpse of what to expect with the release of the latest game from developer Arkane Studios.
What kind of game is Redfall? The setting of the game is the small town of “Redfall,” which is plagued by a grim fate. Vampires have taken control of the place, leaving the inhabitants cut off from the outside world.
Now it is up to you and your teammates to defeat the dark forces. Up to 4 players can work together to take down vampires.
Here you can see the new launch trailer for Redfall:

Redfall – Official Launch Trailer
Redfall offers you an open world that tells stories through small details. You explore it with four playable characters, each with their own unique abilities and skill trees. In addition, you have a variety of weapons and gadgets at your disposal to succeed in the vampire hunt.
Equipped with weapons like shotguns, UV lights, and sniper rifles, you will slaughter various enemies: From weak bloodsuckers to powerful bosses, everything is included. Stakes for impaling must not be missing from a vampire hunter’s inventory.
But not only vampires, but also their followers, the cultists, make your life difficult in Redfall.
By defeating vampires, you loot valuable rewards that can strengthen your characters. It is up to you how you approach the bloodsuckers: Are you strategic, sneaking up on your enemies, or do you jump into battle loudly?
For which platforms will Redfall be released? The game will be released on May 2, 2023, for Xbox Series X/S and PC. The game is also set to be available on Game Pass from day one.
The open world in Redfall is said to be full of small details and exciting stories. Even among the NPCs there are conflicts:
In FIFA 23 the TOTS event is approaching, and just in time, a new season begins in Ultimate Team. This brings extremely high rewards with strong icon cards and great free packs.
For the big TOTS event, EA Sports has significantly improved the rewards of FIFA 23 Ultimate Team and made them much more attractive.
What changes in the Weekend League and Division Rivals: From now on, the Weekend League rewards will include current TOTS cards instead of the mostly too weak Team-of-the-Week cards.
Additionally, Division Rivals will now feature TOTW cards as rewards, at least between Division 1 and 4. Players hanging around Division 5 to 10 will receive new TOTS loan rewards.
But especially the season rewards, which are often rather uninteresting and bring packs and cards that usually serve only as SBC fodder, surprise this time with extremely strong rewards.
These rewards are now available: The new season rewards that can be earned by collecting XP bring very strong rewards that have not existed in this form before.
Especially the FUT Birthday Icons of Rooney (92) and Desailly (92) stand out, as they are very popular in FUT 23 and have fantastic stats. Particularly, Rooney impresses with his 5-star skills and his amazing shooting, pace, and physical attributes.
Here are some highlights from the rewards:
Level 5: 1x TOTS Moments Reyna (91) or 1x Five Player Pack (85+)
Level 10: 1x TOTS Moments Payet (91) or 1x 85+-x10 Player Pack
Level 15: 1x TOTS Moments Caicedo (90) or 1x Fifteen-83+-Player Pack
Level 17: 1x 83+-Double Player Pack
Level 20: 1x FUT Birthday Icon Desailly (92) or Player Pick with 1 of 3 3+-EFIGS-TOTS (England, France, Italy, Germany, Spain)
Level 25: 1x Flashback Player Jesús Navas (92) or 1x Five Player Pack (85+)
Level 29: Rare Mega Pack
Level 30: 1x FUT Birthday Icon Rooney (92) or Player Pick with 1 of 5 90+ PL/La Liga/Ligue 1 TOTS
This is what the community says about the strong rewards: On Reddit, there is a discussion about the new season rewards, and most fans believe that EA got it right this time. Here are a few comments:
Resident_Cup740: “Fair play to EA. They really nailed it with these season rewards. They actually look worthwhile for once.”
GeorgeCuz: “They not only look fantastic, every decision is tough. You really have to think about which reward to take. It’s usually not even a question with the season rewards.”
M4ur1c100: “The best season of all time, great job EA.”
SHquilleOrKneel: “The worst part is that I have to decide. Do I take Desailly, Rooney and Navas, packs as fodder, or the guaranteed TOTS cards?”
SakisSinatra: “Is EA okay? Are they really bringing good season rewards? Wtf?”
What do you think about the rewards? Do you already know which ones you are going to get? Feel free to let us know in the comments!

If you are looking for new ways to defeat raid bosses in Destiny 2 and have a bad connection, you should definitely take a closer look at an old exo shotgun. A new cheese currently allows you to multiply damage invisibly and even take down the toughest bosses.
This exo is about to be deactivated: After the emergence of a new cheese in Destiny 2, the community is sure: The exo shotgun “The Fourth Horseman” is on the brink of being deactivated.
The exotic shotgun from Season 10 with 4 shots for the energy slot and arc damage has recently become known for tripling your damage to dungeon and raid bosses in no time.
Players who also have the catalyst for the exo shotgun add a 5th round to the magazine and improve the reload speed, allowing you to deal even more damage.
It is likely that players won’t be able to exploit this loophole for long because Bungie usually quickly shuts down such drastic advantages. But the community jokes: “Use it, because Bungie doesn’t work on weekends!”
Start video
Destiny 2: Lightfall – Trailer for new weapons and equipment
How does the new cheese work? In order to make use of the cheese, you need to fulfill several conditions.
First of all, you need the exotic shotgun, preferably with a catalyst. You can buy this directly at the “Memorial of Lost Lights” if you have enough materials.
The masterwork catalysts drop randomly from strikes, Gambit, and crucible matches.
The last condition, which is a guess, states that the cheese is due to a connection error, as the streamer CheeseForever explains:
This error essentially triples the amount of damage it should cause in some cases. My friend was able to use this problem every time. But I could never get it to work. I even tried different frame rates. This leads me to believe that it’s a connection error. A bad and therefore slow connection is the reason why [this cheese] works.
explains CheeseForever about the damage output of the exo shotgun in his YouTube video
This means that players who normally might have disadvantages in the game due to their connection are now the biggest damage dealers in the endgame with the right shotgun.
To further enhance the effect, you should apply a weapon buff and debuff beforehand. Additionally, you can also use Lunafaction boots to deal even more damage.
This is the best part of the trick: You can use this cheese not just once. If you switch back and forth between a normal shotgun and the exo shotgun five times, you can leave the menu to trigger the glitch again. This way you can multiply the damage until you run out of ammunition.
Has Bungie commented on this yet? No, the Bungie support is still quiet about this new error. Although players joked that Bungie doesn’t work on weekends, this is, of course, not the case.
The developer is also at work on weekends and has also shown a fairly quick response time recently when disabling things, such as the glitch for farming legendary shards.
Players should therefore assume that this advantageous, albeit apocalyptic, damage bug cannot be used in the game for much longer.
When was the last time you used the shotgun “The Fourth Horseman”? Is the cheese now a reason for you to dust it off? Let us know in the comments. Or would you rather wait for Bungie to finally announce a new game that is more modern and fresh?
The trick is relatively simple: First equip a normal pellet shotgun. Then switch to the exo shotgun “The Fourth Horseman” and shoot at the boss. This shot will remove a part of the boss’s health in a similar way to the already known error of the glaive “Winter’s Bite”.
Even if the damage is not directly visible based on the damage numbers, the health bar of the boss enemy still shows that you have dealt incredible amounts of damage.

The UK market regulator CMA blocks Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard for the important market in Great Britain. Judgments from the EU and the USA are still pending. What chances does the deal still have? MeinMMO looks at reactions from experts.
The scale of the merger prompted regulators around the world to act. Officials have been thoroughly examining the deal since then, with a focus on the authorities in the key markets of the USA, EU, and Great Britain.
In a statement on April 26, 2023, the regulator in Great Britain, the CMA (Competition and Markets Authority), announced that it would block the acquisition. Activision Blizzard subsequently lost around $7 billion in market value in just a few minutes.
The CMA cites the cloud gaming market as the reason, which also includes the Xbox Game Pass. This came as a surprise to observers of the deal. For a long time, Call of Duty and the console market were actually seen as the sticking points, as Sony has argued for months.
However, the British authority sees a greater risk that no other competitor would stand a chance against Microsoft in the future if the cloud gaming market takes off. The CMA states:
Cloud gaming is a rapidly growing market with high dynamics
Microsoft is already strong here through the Game Pass and could become even stronger with the games from Activision Blizzard – price increases that outweigh the benefits of the acquisition for consumers are expected
They see cloud gaming as a strong future market because players would not have to buy expensive PCs or consoles anymore
Microsoft’s arguments did not convince the regulators
Setback for Microsoft – But not the end yet
What are the chances for the deal now? Microsoft announced that it would appeal the decision. Activision Blizzard also remains committed to the deal and wants to “aggressively” fight with Microsoft to reverse the decision.
As an initial reaction, they want to challenge the decision of the British CMA. According to Bloomberg’s senior antitrust litigation analyst Jennifer Rie, this could take years (via bloomberg.com). The current decision should not be taken lightly.
Rie explains that the deal could indeed be at an end. It was stated in the acquisition contracts that the merger had to be completed by July 2023. Rie believes this deadline would definitely have to be extended. And negotiations have already been ongoing for over 15 months.
Analyst Piers Harding-Rolls, Research Director of Games at Ampere Analysis, is more optimistic. He shared his views with the US side VGC (via videogameschronicle.com). Harding-Rolls thinks that smaller appeals against decisions by the CMA could indeed be processed within a few months if Microsoft responds correctly to the regulators’ conclusions.
Examples of this come from Michael Pachter, Managing Director of Equity Research at Wedbush Securities. Microsoft could offer concessions or price guarantees.
Ultimately, the judgment depends on the CMA’s conviction that Microsoft will have pricing power due to its dominant market position in cloud gaming.
However, we firmly believe that Microsoft is willing to maintain pricing at $15 per month plus inflation and we believe that the CMA will change its position if Microsoft makes this offer.
If the appeal is unsuccessful, Pachter also brings up a separation of business areas. For example, the business with the Game Pass could be separated from the rest of the world and monitored directly by the CMA or designated third parties.
Pachter said: “We assume that this will be sufficient for the CMA to declare the merger acceptable, on the condition that Activision titles are not available on Game Pass.”
You see – after the CMA’s decision, the market is unsettled. The problem for Microsoft is that the regulator’s decision now stands for the time being. It will probably take at least a few months to change the CMA’s ruling.
In fact, there was even hope to leverage a positive decision from the CMA to stand better with the authorities in the USA and the EU.
It was a setback for Microsoft, but the deal is not dead yet. Now it remains to be seen how long the CMA will take to process the appeal and what decisions the EU (at the end of May) and the authorities in the USA will make (at the beginning of August).
World of Warcraft is once again offering some exclusive rewards through Twitch Drops. We reveal when and how you can get them.
At Blizzard, they have been heavily promoting for several months now, especially when it comes to the Twitch platform. Almost with every new release of a patch or new season, there are different goodies for the respective games.
Fans of World of Warcraft are particularly happy because they can grab rewards that would otherwise only be obtainable through a lot of money. Soon there will be two new great items that you can receive.
What rewards are available? For the launch of Patch 10.1 Fury of Neltharion, there are two rewards that were previously only available through the (long discontinued) “Warcraft Trading Card Game”.
Translucent Portal (Toy): A special Hearthstone that summons a portal when used, known especially from the Astral realms of the shattered world.
Flaming Hippogryph (Mount): A hippogryph with a unique fire look reminiscent of the Firelands.
The translucent portal is already waving at the start of the patch.
How do you get the rewards? To receive the two items, you must first link your Twitch account with your Battle.net account. Then during the respective event period, watch 4 hours of content related to World of Warcraft. Valid channels usually have a note indicating that they have “Drops” enabled. You can also check your progress anytime.
The hippogryph will be available in the second week after the patch launch.
When are the promotions active? Depending on which rewards you want to grab, you need to tune in at different times.
Translucent Portal: Watch 4 hours between May 2nd 7:00 PM and May 10th 8:59 AM.
Flaming Hippogryph: Watch 4 hours between May 9th 7:00 PM and May 18th 8:59 AM.
Do you have to watch actively? No, it’s not necessary. Those who are only interested in the rewards can open the stream, mute it, and just let it run in the background until the required time is reached. However, you might discover some interesting content creators whose content you enjoy along the way.
What do you think of these rewards? Cool that they are now coming into your possession? Or is it unfortunate for all who obtained them through the Trading Card Game back then?
