Actually, you should slay tons of demons in Diablo 4. However, some players are specifically hunting the few animals that still exist in the world. Now someone has found a horse and killed it – much to the delight of some other hunters.

Why do players kill horses?

• Diablo 4 comes with several MMO features, including the ability to earn achievements for certain challenges.
• Many achievements reward you with (sometimes odd) titles that you can give your character and showcase.
• For one of these achievements, you need to kill tons of animals. One player is excited now: “I found a horse that can be killed” and is celebrated for it.

By the way, some players are now also targeting cows, but in large numbers.

This is what the achievement is about: The achievement “Endangered Species” requires you to kill 26 different animals, from goats to crabs to meerkats. As a reward, you get the title “Greedy Hunter”.

While you will probably accidentally take out some of these animals during your slaughter of the hellish hordes, others need to be hunted very specifically. On Reddit, there is a list of locations for the various animals that is being well maintained.

Player kills horse – Even Blizzard congratulates

What’s the deal with the horse? The animal that many people missed is a horse. User Immortal King discovered it on Twitter – in a stable where it cannot flee. Even the official Diablo channel congratulated him on his questionable kill.

The corresponding “Kill List” on Reddit was promptly updated. Now only gray and brown deer are missing. However, presumably, everyone has already killed them in the prologue out of … scientific reasons.

An opponent that many more people are looking for and who definitely deserves to die much more is the famous Butcher. For someone who loves to slaughter players, he is remarkably rare. So rare that some don’t even believe he is real:

The Butcher is an enemy from Diablo 1, who has also found his way into Diablo 4. However, he does not always appear, but is a random element, which can surprise the player suddenly. Players report their experiences with him.

Who is the Butcher? The Butcher originally comes from Diablo 1, but has also appeared in Diablo 3 and Diablo Immortal. In Diablo 4, he is a secret boss, who can encounter you while exploring in basements, dungeons, or the Hell flood.

He drops good loot upon defeat, but is a strong opponent. With a lot of CC and powerful attacks, you cannot simply defeat him, and the element of surprise while exploring dungeons can also overwhelm you quickly.

He is real and he does not negotiate

On Reddit, many users report their experiences with the Butcher. The user Interesting_Still870 posted that he does not believe that the Butcher is real. He does not exist, and you should all stop convincing me that he is real.

Later, however, he added: Guys, the Butcher killed me. At 1:44. He is real and he does not negotiate

In the Reddit post by ZodiacEra, users share their nightmarish experiences with the opponent.

• ZodiacEra: The guy has a vendetta against me. I can’t wait for the day the tables turn and I kill him without effort.
• Sincere_420: He politely killed me last night with 2 attacks, it was great. I questioned the entire existence of my wizard.
• Darkwrathi: Similar experience here. Level 58 and I’ve never seen him. First dungeon in T4 and he obliterates me. I didn’t even try to fight him.

The players have already invested several hours in Diablo 4. Many are dedicating themselves to the endgame, but the path to get there is quite long for everyone. Now fans fear: they have to do everything again, as the progress is set to reset in Season 1.

What do the players have to do right now?

• After finishing the campaign, the big endgame of Diablo 4 with many contents comes.
• However, to be truly efficient there, the entire map should be explored beforehand. This means: collecting all Lilith statues and bringing the reputation in each region to level 5.
• Players don’t want to do this again, but they probably have to soon. However, they are also suggesting solutions.

This bothers the players: The reputation grind unlocks important things like additional skill and paragon points. The best builds in the tier list all require that you have all of these points.

However, the grind takes many hours and stretches over several days, depending on free time. Because you only gain reputation through quests, the initial completion of dungeons, exploration, and Lilith statues.

All of this is quite exciting when doing it for the first time, but afterwards it becomes rather tedious. Some players already noticed this, when they started their second characters: The map has to be explored anew with each character.

According to the latest information, all progress from the reputation will be reset for Season 1. Season 1 starts mid to late July, which is quite soon. Already now, some players say: if they have to do the whole reputation grind again, they will stop.

Season 1 almost deletes all progress – But that’s not the problem

What do I lose? Basically, you will lose all progress for reputation in the various regions as well as exploration, at least according to the latest information. This means you will have to unlock the following things again:

• the explored map and all waypoints
• bonuses from reputation like skill points and paragon points
• the powers in the codex of power

The bonuses from the Lilith statues are supposed to remain, so you don’t have to search for all of them again, just like the campaign skip, so you can jump straight into the endgame. The developers confirmed this in a lengthy stream before release (via YouTube). You must have completed the campaign at least once at some point to access the seasonal content. Everything else, you will have to collect again.

How could Blizzard solve this? According to many players, the repeated grinding is not really the problem. In seasons, it’s all about getting as far as possible as quickly as possible. Repetition is certainly part of that.

Only the current system has been too tedious. It would be nicer if the reputation could be gained through all tasks or special seasonal tasks. That way, you wouldn’t have to redo all the quests you already know.

We asked Blizzard if there are already new plans for progress in the seasons. However, an answer is still pending.

Diablo 4 is actually very well received and delights players. Blizzard has been working to fix issues and smooth out rough spots since release. Changes can still occur regarding the season.
