Mages and warlocks in WoW have to say goodbye. Their beloved pets are disappearing today – and some are more than just sad about this development.
In World of Warcraft today the Patch 10.1.5 Rifts in Time went live. Actually a joyful event, with plenty of new content. But some players are sad and express this sadness. They have to part with companions they have had in the game for many years. The water elemental of mages is disappearing, and warlocks are also losing an old “friend”.
What is being removed? Frost mages have had the ability to summon a water elemental for over 15 years. However, this elemental has become less significant over the years – it was rarely chosen as a talent because its alternatives were mostly significantly better. Nevertheless, the elemental was a loyal companion for many mages, especially for role players.
The water elemental will remain in some form, as it can be temporarily summoned during the spell “Icy Veins” with the help of a talent. However, it is only there for a few seconds and not permanently.
For warlocks, a glyph is being removed. Previously, warlocks were able to transform their Felhunter into an Observer. This caused visual confusion, especially in PvP, as the Observer looked similar to the Dark View, another demon of the warlock. Therefore, the glyph is being removed for now, but it is planned to return later for another demon.
This is how players are reacting: In the WoW subreddit and on Twitter, many mages and warlocks are sharing pictures and stories of their experiences. Mage Portergauge writes on Twitter:
I decided to take him to the place where I first summoned him in-character [=in roleplay], the mage tower in the garrison of my old guild.
I didn’t think I would get sentimental over a stupid online companion, but now the time has come, and he deserves a proper farewell.

A good equipment can indeed save your life in critical situations. MyMMO editor Benedikt Schlotmann plays Diablo 4 mainly with a gaming mouse. And he can (almost) recommend it without any reservations.
Sometimes you need to act quickly in Diablo. I have positioned myself poorly, am surrounded by enemies, and have to find a way to escape quickly. Those, like me, who enjoy playing a sorceress or a wizard, know that health points are indeed limited and you can easily meet your end.
In such situations, I am always happy that I have well adjusted my equipment to myself and my needs.
Currently, the G502 Lightspeed costs 78 Euros on Amazon thanks to Prime Day:
Oops, unfortunately this affiliate widget is no longer available.
My G502 Lightspeed has saved my life in Diablo 4 several times
What is the advantage of the mouse? The G502 Lightspeed offers you three additional buttons in the thumb area: the sniper button and two other buttons that are located just above the thumb. I have placed two abilities on these two buttons:
With Blizzard, I deal a lot of damage when I lure the enemies into the area of effect of the ability.
With Teleportation, I can take my legs in my hands when things get dicey. And this has helped me out of tight situations countless times when I don’t lose sight of the cooldown of my abilities.
With the sniper button, you can briefly set the DPI level to a low value. In Diablo, I rarely use this, but much more often in Division 2 or Apex.
Theoretically, I can also use all the abilities through the keyboard, but I am actually someone who prefers playing hack and slash games like Diablo or Titan Quest with the mouse. Occasionally, I have also played with double assignments (G-Shift) and assigned healing potions to the mouse, but that quickly became chaotic. Yes, it works, but it requires a lot of self-control and precision.
MMO mice like the Naga Pro V2 by Razer (for the test) offer significantly more buttons, but in Diablo, that was generally too much for me. Moreover, the Naga Pro V2 is simply too heavy for me in the long run.
Are there any disadvantages? I use the mouse almost exclusively in palm grip and can reach all the buttons very well. With a hand size of 19 centimeters, however, I also have very large hands. Small hands, as I know from experience, cannot reach all the buttons. My partner has smaller hands, and she can barely reach the sniper button.
The Lightspeed version offers additional weights inside compared to the newer X series, which I honestly have never used. Because the weight of the mouse is already very high, even without the extra weight. The battery life is between 50 and 60 hours, which is acceptable. My Basilisk Ultimate lasts another 20 hours more.
The G502X does many things better, but is also significantly more expensive
There is already a successor: The G502X Lightspeed is the improved version and the successor of the G502 Lightspeed. On MeinMMO you can read the review of the G502X Lightspeed. Logitech has improved its old gaming mouse almost in every aspect, the battery life has significantly increased, the weight has been reduced, and mechanical switches are now used under the buttons.
The only disadvantage: The X model currently costs around 110 Euros and is therefore about 40 Euros more expensive than the predecessor model. However, if you are just looking for a really good gaming mouse for Diablo 4 or other games, then the old G502 Lightspeed is worth it when on sale, and it doesn’t have to be the new version. Currently, it is accompanying me through my dungeons in Diablo.
Are there any other alternatives? Besides Logitech, there are also more mice that I can recommend not just for Diablo 4:
The Kone XP from Roccat is currently available for around 60 Euros. The workmanship is good, and the mouse offers you even more buttons. The RGB lighting is also significantly more varied than that of the rather reserved G502. The wireless Air variant of the XP is, in my opinion, too expensive.
The Basilisk Ultimate from Razer is currently also available for between 70 and 80 Euros thanks to Prime Day. Good ergonomics are rounded off with a respectable battery life. I find the very extensive software rather annoying, but I can usually overlook it.
The Rival 5 from SteelSeries is also a good option if you want a lightweight and modern mouse. In a test, I compared the Rival 5 with the Logitech G502. I still prefer the G502 a bit more because SteelSeries has placed the buttons in the thumb area oddly.
And these are three tips that I can also give outside of the good G502. If you are looking for more tips and pointers about mice, then take a look here. You can find more gaming mice in the following list on MeinMMO:
“Uber Uniques” are more of a legend than actual items in Diablo 4 for most players. They are so absurdly rare that almost no one expects to find them. Fans are now wondering what purpose such items actually serve and are complaining that they definitely do not provide any incentive.
At the same time, the Uber Uniques are among the best items overall. They are considered “Best in Slot” for most of the top builds in the Diablo 4 tier list.
This is what players are saying: Recently, a bug caused a total of 142 Uber Uniques to be virtually “given away”. This sparked a discussion about the rare items that have been on the minds of at least some players for a long time.
Now, more fans are discussing it. In a thread on Reddit, a user is asking what the purpose of these items is and received over 1,800 responses. The creator speculates: Even if you played for 11 years straight, you still wouldn’t have reached a 100% chance.
The responses are rather sober. Of course, the purpose of these items is to incentivize people to play. After all, the next enemy could be one carrying an Uber Unique, so players are encouraged to keep playing. But this effect is not being achieved.

Diablo 4: Merchants are more useful than you think
“The opposite effect of a carrot in front of the nose”
Users are complaining that the chances of getting a coveted “Shako” or a “Grandfather” are so low that players cannot play with a specific goal in mind. Instead of trying, players are more likely to lose motivation and quit. The user Cisco9 writes:
They have the opposite effect on me of the carrot in front of the nose that many consider them to be. Their existence turns me off. The currently ridiculous rarity (unless bugged), makes me think they are a waste of development time. They lead me to want to play the game less when we have developers with the mindset that this over-rarity is really fun.
With over 2,400 upvotes, many other users agree. A carrot that one can never get is not worth hunting. One could spend time on better things. Even worse is when you actually find such an item and it turns out to be a bad version. The frustration is even greater.
Other users claim that Blizzard simply copied a concept from popular ARPGs without further thought. In other games, such a system works because players can trade or have other ways to obtain strong items.
In Diablo 4, trading is heavily restricted; legendary and unique items are always bound to the account and cannot be given to other players. This greatly devalues items like the Uber Uniques.
Again, items of this rarity would probably never be traded for in-game currency, but only for real money. That is not exactly the intention of the game. Ironically, the developers have pointed out that players should feel free to do something else if they are losing interest in Diablo 4:
The successor to FIFA 23 is called EA Sports FC 24 and now also has a first cover and a trailer. We look at interesting details.
The new trailer for EA Sports FC 24 is making the rounds and brings with it the cover of the Ultimate Edition. The internet already had a laugh about that, but overall, there are some interesting things to note about the cover.
What does the Ultimate Edition cover already reveal about the future of EA Sports FC 24? Some points are noticeable.
The date on which EA FC 24 will be presented
The first detail is not directly in the cover, but in the trailer that accompanies it. It is clarified there that the big reveal of the game will take place on July 13.
Start video
EA Sports FC 24: The successor to FIFA shows itself for the first time in the new announcement trailer
It is to be expected that first information about modes, release date, new gameplay elements and more will be shown here. It is even conceivable that pre-orders will be opened then. In July 2022, you could pre-order FIFA 23, after all.
Icons and Heroes among the Women
The cover features stars from both men’s and women’s soccer standing shoulder to shoulder. However, some women are particularly noticeable: Former US player Mia Hamm is portrayed on the official website with the “Icon” emblem, while Englishwoman Alex Scott is shown as a “Hero.”
Noteworthy on the cover: Some legendary players like Ronaldinho, Drogba, and Drogba are depicted in the jerseys of their respective clubs, while, for example, Pelé wears the Brazil jersey. This is interesting because the clubs of the icons in FIFA have played no role so far, only the nations.
Chelsea icon Drogba in club jersey
Who knows: Perhaps we will find out on July 13 whether it was a purely design decision for the cover, or whether a change of the icon cards, for example regarding chemistry, is in store for EA FC 24.
At the bottom left of the cover, the term “Dual Entitlement” is visible. With this term, EA Sports described a feature of the Ultimate Edition in the past: “Dual Entitlement” allows you to play both the version of the old console generation and the new one.
This confirms that EA FC 24 will also continue to be released for the old consoles and can be played on both generations, depending on the version.
HyperMotion V
In the other corner of the cover, the term “HyperMotion V” is visible. The technology “HyperMotion” was introduced with FIFA 22 and describes the significantly revised animations that should make the game more realistic.
In FIFA 23, it was updated to HyperMotion 2, with additional animations. In EA Sports, the jump to “HyperMotion V” follows – which probably does not stand for “5”, but for “Volumetric Animation Technology”.
As the “Mirror” reports, EA Sports VP David Jackson explained that HyperMotion V is the next step and will bring 80 times as many animations as FIFA 23.
So, a technical leap on the field is to be expected here – what it will look like remains to be seen.
The “24” is clearly visible in the title of EA Sports FC on the cover, but has now been communicated for the first time. Previously, only “EA Sports FC” was referred to as the title for the successor to FIFA 23, which fueled speculation that annual releases might be discontinued. The “24” now points more in the other direction.
In 2021, NFTs were a huge topic, and it seemed like everyone wanted a piece of the pie. Even some celebrities and Twitch streamers were tempted to invest. However, not for everyone did it go well.
What was the trend all about? In 2021, it seemed like no one could avoid NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens). They are essentially digital collectibles. These can be photos, videos, audio files, or items in a game.
The trend quickly reached the gaming industry. NFTs and the underlying blockchain technology were said to be the next big development in gaming. Several new games were to be based on this technology.
The idea behind it probably falls under the description “too good to be true”. Instead of pouring vast sums into their favorite games, gamers were supposed to be able to earn money while playing. Numerous influencers promoted such “Play to Earn” games or even wanted to bring their own titles to market.
The action MMORPG Warrior relied on NFTs.

What was the attraction of NFTs? Whether in games or in the form of drawn monkeys: NFTs were presented as a worthwhile investment. For those who missed the chance to buy bitcoins for a little cash back then, NFTs seemed like another opportunity.
Many celebrities and even Twitch streamers jumped on the trend as well. Representing the hype around NFTs, the Bored Ape Yacht Club probably stands out to many. The randomly generated ape JPEGs became coveted collectibles.
The value of the colorful images skyrocketed, creating a kind of community around them. Those with any self-respect changed their profile pictures on social media to show off their newly acquired ape.
How much did celebrities lose with their investments?
How did the investments turn out? For Justin Bieber, it likely didn’t go so well. As reported by the US site Dexerto in a tweet, the 29-year-old spent more than $1.3 million last year on the NFT of a monkey with a three-day beard. Now it is only worth $59,000.
The NFT has thus lost 95% of its value.

However, Justin Bieber was not the only celebrity who made a fool of himself: French colleagues from Jeuxvideo compiled a list showing how much stars and celebrities lost with their investments.
The footballer Neymar supposedly bought two NFTs for €341,850 and €406,350. The loss is estimated at €274,850 and €339,350.
Tennis ace Serena Williams reportedly paid approximately €327,600 for an NFT, which has reportedly lost around €260,600 in value.
Rapper Eminem has an estimated loss of €340,385 with an investment of €407,385.
The controversial YouTuber Logan Paul supposedly spent only €91,800 and estimated to have lost €24,800.
2021 was probably the year when stock speculations reached the mainstream. Many dreamed of making the big money with a smart investment: whether with NFTs, cryptocurrency, or the stocks of the well-known retail chain GameStop:

You will gradually unlock the mentioned rewards:
Further information about Palia, the beta, and the rewards can be found on the website. In a live stream on Twitch and YouTube on July 18th, there will be a one-hour insight into the gameplay of Palia.
The progress you have acquired so far has been deleted after each game test. According to the developer, this is now different: The progress will be carried over from the closed beta to the later game. This aims to motivate players to take their time in Palia, to live out their imagination without losing anything.
The MMORPG War of Dragnorox relies on old-school feeling, hard raids, and dynamic battlefields. However, the combat system was too boring for the developers themselves. So much is changing now that not even the name remains the same.
What kind of game is this? First of all, to keep everyone up to date. War of Dragnorox has not only changed basic game mechanics but also its name. The MMORPG is now called Eternal Tombs, but at its core, it is still the same game.
Eternal Tombs aims to offer an old-school experience that is modern in appearance. This is mainly supported by Unreal Engine 5 as the foundation for the project. In addition, you will regularly compete with developers. The MMORPG offers the following features:
Dynamic battlefields where a Dungeon Master, controlled by a studio employee, takes control of the game world and challenges you daily
Sandbox open world without clear guidelines and with tough opponents. Eternal Tombs is intended to be a challenging game
At launch, there will be 19 different raids
Little magic, much physical damage, also with the 6 different classes
Progression mainly happens through equipment. The perfect armor can make you up to five times as strong as other players at the same level
A slow tab-targeting combat system that is reminiscent of early genre classics
You can see the first trailer for the game here:

War of Dragnorox – Announcement Trailer
What is different now? The “tab-targeting” combat system has repeatedly caused headaches for the developers, as they mentioned in a QA on Discord. At some point during the development of the combat system, they realized that it wasn’t very much fun.
“Without the nostalgic feeling of being in a game you’ve played for over 20 years, the combat system was incredibly boring and tedious,” the developers said in their response. Instead, they are now working on a system that is supposed to be “incredibly fun and absolutely unique.”
With such a significant change to one of the foundations of the game, they wanted to give the entire project a new name to represent this massive change. Moreover, they have always had “mixed feelings” about the old name.
The entire game will be presented in detail next month
What will happen with the game? Next, a complete presentation of Eternal Tombs is scheduled for August, as they recently announced in a teaser trailer. Whether this will happen at gamescom is questionable. However, the timeline might fit.
Originally, the game was supposed to be released in Q3 2023, but that is probably no longer the plan. The developers’ website states, in response to the question about the release date: “We somehow keep making a wrong statement, so for now, we won’t make any at all. It will come when it’s ready.”
Otherwise, the original vision of the game remains intact, as does the fair payment model. Eternal Tombs is set to be available with a subscription of around €10 per month, but it will not feature any pay-to-win mechanics or an in-game shop. There is also no Kickstarter program; Eternal Tombs is 100% privately funded.
You can watch the teaser trailer and a snippet of the new combat system here:

How are the fans reacting? Quite positively. The comments under the teaser trailer are filled with excitement, and even the change of the name is well received.
JaggedWinter says: “I like the new name; it gives me the idea of exploring dungeons with friends. With the old name, I always thought more of a book than a game.”
Rykkeanu asks if the new combat system will also have real-time blocking, to which the developers respond: “you know the answer,” which we should interpret as “yes” at this point.
What do you think of the new name? Do you like Eternal Tombs? And do you enjoy the restructuring to a new combat system? Does a fast fight with beautiful Unreal Engine 5 graphics still qualify as an old-school MMORPG in your eyes? Or is it just a wild mix? Feel free to let us know in the comments here at MeinMMO.
Season 21 in Destiny 2 has completed the story, and currently the Guardians are dealing with the new Exo “Malicious Tool” and the question: Where do you get your catalyst? MeinMMO tells you what the prospects are this week and what else you can accomplish.
This is happening this week: Most players have already completed the seasonal story of Season 21 and have secured the title “Aquanaut“.
After that, only the hunt for the new season Exo “Malicious Tool” was in sight, which kept some on their toes with its spicy challenge from Miss “AlwaysScreamAtMe“.
Meanwhile, many Guardians already have the weapon in hand and are now asking: Where do I get the catalyst for “Malicious Tool”? However, this question can be answered this week.
The catalyst can be obtained from the dives. However, only, if you reach Tier 7.
Otherwise, you can meet Lord Saladin, as he is hosting the last Iron Banner of Season 21. So if you are still missing the nice emblem, or if you want to fill gaps in your Iron Banner armor collection, or if you are still looking for the God Rolls of the Iron Banner weapons – this week is the last opportunity.
Other things were not so pleasant this week, as the community has announced the tragic loss of a friend which brought the Guardians in Destiny 2 together to be there for each other and to commemorate those who had to leave.

The video game journalist Danny O’Dwyer (37) publishes documentaries about the history of games on his YouTube channel Noclip and provides insights behind the scenes of the gaming industry. Recently, he rescued boxes of footage from the dump.
What kind of channel is this?Noclip publishes documentaries about video games funded through crowdfunding. The channel showcases the backstories of games and interesting anecdotes from the gaming industry.
So it’s not surprising that a tip piqued the interest of the founder Danny O’Dwyer: A media company in San Francisco supposedly has a huge collection of tapes that he definitely wants to see. The footage is also on the verge of being discarded.
O’Dwyer rented a truck and soon after returned to his studio with boxes of videotapes. Since then, he and his team have rescued more footage from ending up in the trash or rotting in storage.
Now he claims to have one of the largest collections of video game history – but the real work has only just begun.
Start video
How gamers have evolved from “unwashed basement kids” to a real culture
What kind of footage is there? The boxes contain countless videotapes in various formats: Among them are well-known formats like VHS, but also rare formats for professional use that the YouTuber has never heard of.
The tapes contain thousands of hours of footage from the 90s to around 2010: trailers, interviews, gameplay recordings, and footage of events that took place behind the scenes of the gaming industry.
At a time before many people had access to high-speed internet, such videos were broadcast on television or a few gaming websites, according to O’Dwyer. The assets were not delivered in digital form but on such tapes.
The special thing is: The material on the tapes has largely been forgotten or was never intended for the public. O’Dwyer says he has already found an interview with the legendary developer Hideo Kojima that was supposed to have been erased from the internet 10 years ago.
Furthermore, the videos for publication on websites were heavily compressed due to the technological limitations of the time. On the tapes, one would now find the highest-quality version of the press conference from E3 2009, according to O’Dwyer.
The English-language video from Noclip about the collection is embedded here:

What does he plan to do with the footage? O’Dwyer and the Noclip team want to review all the tapes and digitize “historically valuable” footage to make it available online.
On a dedicated YouTube channel, there are already “never-before-seen” presentations of games like Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Neverwinter Nights, which were supposedly presented behind closed doors at E3 2001.
This elaboration of video game history, which could have been lost, is not only a massive undertaking but also requires not only a lot of time but also the right equipment. Some devices needed to play the old formats are quite rare and especially expensive. Furthermore, they are so heavy that shipping costs a lot of money, explains O’Dwyer.
For the YouTuber and his team, however, it’s all worth it to create a “living, breathing archive” that everyone can interact with. After all, there is no sense in having a museum if people can’t walk around in it, says O’Dwyer (via BBC).
The YouTuber is sure that true treasures can be found in the footage: “I already know that some things will be hidden in this collection that will truly shock and excite the entire video game scene.”
However, O’Dwyer is not only focused on these big moments but also on the small ones. The moments that make someone send a link to a cousin or old friend with the message: “Do you remember when we used to play that back then?”
What difficulties are there? The tapes, like all analog media, have a kind of expiration date. With each passing year, the tapes have deteriorated further, says O’Dwyer. The process continues every day they spend in the boxes in the Noclip studio.
Some recordings are already too damaged to be played, the YouTuber regrets. The Noclip team must therefore hurry to digitize the videos before even more are permanently lost.
Recently, there was a bug in Diablo 4 that made the Battle.net ID visible to all players. Individuals were subsequently flooded with friend requests and messages about gold sales.
What was that bug? An error in the interface apparently caused players to receive numerous requests since the release of Diablo 4. Their Battle.net ID was visible to all players, allowing people to easily add and message them.
The topic was taken up on social media, and according to Blizzard, the bug has now been fixed.

“I get the requests almost hourly”
What were those requests? The users from whom the requests came were all associated with gold sales. In a subreddit dedicated to the game, the user u/FPS_Casey posted a picture of the friend requests in the game. All of them came from users named GoldTrade, only with different numbers.
Here you can see the photo in the post on Reddit. The user writes that they have been receiving these requests almost hourly since the release of Diablo 4:

Has the bug been fixed? According to a tweet from Blizzard President Mike Ybarra on June 11, the bug has been fixed. They are currently working on sorting out the accounts (via Twitter). Maybe this will result in fewer requests being sent out.
Receiving requests while playing can be very annoying, especially when it seems never-ending. A different, less annoying bug recently caused the rarest uniques to drop for many as if they were just normal legendaries:
Are you still looking for a really good controller for PC or your Xbox? The Razer Wolverine is a highly recommended model. MeinMMO editor Benedikt Schlotmann explains to you why this model might be worth it for you.
I have been using the Razer Wolverine V2 on my home computer for about 3 years now. And for me, the Razer controller is the best choice on PC if you can do without wireless.
A pricey and significantly more extensive alternative for a configurable controller is the Elite Series 2, which costs around 150 euros if you don’t find a good deal.
Currently, the price for the Wolverine V2 is around 60 euros:
Oops, unfortunately this affiliate widget is no longer available.
Excellent haptics, especially for large hands
What makes the controller so good? The biggest plus for me is the significantly better haptics compared to the official product, the Xbox Wireless Controller. The grips are rubberized, while the standard Microsoft controller is very smooth. This makes playing much more enjoyable.
The haptics of the buttons, the “clicky” feel is another plus. Because of this, I feel much more precise than with other controllers. The mecha-tactile buttons and the D-pad feel great.
And because I read the criticism under almost every review of Razer hardware: The controller has never let me down in the last 3 years, and I normally use the controller several times a week. Or my partner plays with it on her computer.
What problems are there? The controller can only be used wired, and the cable is also not removable. This is annoying, but I haven’t had a cable break in recent years. Still, it is also frustrating that the cable is not removable for storing the controller.
Some buttons are also placed a bit awkwardly on the top of the controller, next to the trigger buttons. For smaller hands, they are only partially reachable: While I can press the buttons well, my partner has difficulty reaching the buttons on the back.
Also a bit annoying is the software. Many buttons can be remapped, but only through Razer’s software.
Pro
excellent haptics with rubberized grips
good workmanship
mecha-tactile buttons that “click” nicely
good for large hands
additional buttons on the top
Contra
weak software
no paddles
no removable cable
In practice, the Elite Series 2 from Microsoft is still the better product, but it also costs 80 to 100 euros more (depending on the offers). In most situations, however, the Wolverine V2 is more than sufficient for me without really missing all the extras from the Elite Series 2.

A US court has removed one of the biggest hurdles for Microsoft (Xbox) to acquire Activision Blizzard (WoW, Diablo 4). MeinMMO tells you what this means for the deal.
The deal prompted antitrust authorities to take action: there was concern about the potential formation of a monopoly that could jeopardize market balance.
Besides the UK CMA (Competition and Markets Authority), the US FTC (Federal Trade Commission) also attempted to block the deal. A US court has now ruled in favor of Microsoft, thus lifting the FTC’s blockade.
The shooter Call of Duty was one of the central points of contention in the discussion about the acquisition. Sony feared that CoD would be offered exclusively for Xbox in the future and no longer for PlayStation.

Richtering says: More Call of Duty for everyone
What is the current development? A California court decided today, on July 11, 2023, that the planned acquisition of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft can be completed before the deadline of July 18.
The FTC could not prove that it would be successful in its claim that the acquisition would significantly impact competition, according to Judge Jacqueline Scott Corley, who presided over the case.
In her decision, the judge considered that Microsoft had committed in writing to keep Call of Duty on PlayStation at parity with Xbox for 10 years, and had even made an agreement with Nintendo to bring the shooter to Switch.
The evidence would thus suggest that consumers are likely to have more access to CoD and other Activision content, according to Corley (via The Verge).
Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, and Brad Smith, president of Microsoft, thanked the court on Twitter for the swift and thorough decision. Spencer wrote: “The evidence has shown that the deal is good for the industry.”

Is the deal finalized? Not quite yet, as British authorities continue to block the acquisition.
While the court’s decision allows Microsoft to complete the acquisition of Activision Blizzard before July 18, it’s only if the CMA is willing to negotiate a solution or Microsoft bypasses the UK in the deal.
The European regulatory authority had already given the acquisition the green light in May 2023. Thus, Microsoft could complete the deal even without the approval of the United Kingdom.
In a statement via Twitter, Microsoft, in the form of Brad Smith, expressed that while they do not agree with the CMA’s concerns, they are considering whether the deal can be modified in an “acceptable manner” to address the concerns.
To focus on working on these proposals, they have agreed with the authority to pause the legal dispute in the United Kingdom, as this is in the public interest.
The FTC now has the opportunity to appeal the decision before July 14 at 11:59 p.m. local time. We at MeinMMO will keep you updated on further developments.
This week, the Destiny 2 community came together to pay tribute to a tragically murdered Guardian in a moving tribute. It was an emotional demonstration of community and solidarity that showed how strong the bonds between players can be.
Which Guardian is the community mourning? The Guardian that the Destiny 2 community is currently mourning in the loot shooter is Derek Hartz. He was only 35 years old, as he tragically died on June 13, 2023, due to senseless violence during a robbery.
Derek’s great passion and favorite activity was Destiny 2.
As a Titan, he especially loved Gambit, the PvEvP mode of the loot shooter.
He also had a small YouTube Channel where he occasionally shared content.
After learning of his teammate and friend’s death, he decided to do everything he could to ensure that Derek would never be forgotten. This led to an emotional Reddit post titled: “His name was Derek Hartz, and he was my friend.” There, he urged all Guardians, especially Titans, to “fly for Derek”.

That was the wish of his best friend: In the Reddit post, Derek’s friend with the nickname Complex-Piccolo3026 made his personal plea to all Titans in Destiny 2 to play a Gambit match with the “Thundercrash,” the Arc super of Titans, and to take down a few Acolytes.
But with such a large response, he probably didn’t expect it, as the Destiny community reacted immediately, emotionally, and compassionately.
We do not forget those who die
This is how the community responded to the call: The mood surrounding the gesture of his best friend was overwhelmingly positive, receiving more than 4,600 upvotes on Reddit within two days.
His tragic death not only motivated many players to fulfill his best friend’s wish together, but it also reminded them of their own lost family members, friends, and Guardians.
It was a sad but beautiful opportunity for players to connect, share memories, and offer each other comfort.
And they remembered the powerful quote from Lord Shaxx, which can be found in the lore of the hand cannon “Luna’s Howl”: “Guardians never die. But we will never forget those who did.”
So writes King_Lucifur:
Per Audacia Ad Astra Derek. And my condolences for your loss. Today is Gambit night, and I lay down my Bonk Hammer for the Thundercrash of Death.
Even Guardians who do not have and play Titans joined in and said that they would play a round for Derek with their Hunters and Warlocks.
In a time when virtual worlds and online communities are becoming increasingly important, this action shows that the bonds formed through games like Destiny 2 can evoke real emotions and connections. For many, a game has become a friendship and family that they cherish.
Thanks to his Destiny friend, Derek will also forever be remembered in a special way, showing that you never forget former comrades, even if you may have only known them in the game. There are also other players who have thought of their deceased clanmates in special ways.
As Potraitor commented under the post: “As a clan, we lost one of our members due to cancer. We held a funeral for him in the game and took some screenshots around the solar system.”
What are your thoughts on the moving action of the Destiny 2 community in paying tribute to a murdered Guardian? And would you do the same for your teammates? Please feel free to share your opinion on this communal memorial in the comments.
A player who has just recently played CS:GO has drawn an extremely rare knife. According to experts, he can sell it for around $200,000.
The German Twitch streamer ohnePixel is a well-known skin collector and enthusiast in Valve’s tactical shooter CS:GO. At the beginning of July, ohnePixel received a donation of CS:GO cases worth around 180,000 euros. Subsequently, ohnePixel opened the donated crates in front of thousands of viewers and pulled one dud after another – and ended up with just 4,000 euros from the case opening.
Now, ohnePixel spoke with an 18-year-old who is on the streamer’s Discord server and had unbelievable luck opening cases – unlike ohnePixel himself.
The 18-year-old drew a knife that is worth around $200,000. ohnePixel appears visibly impressed during the livestream and shocked notes that the lucky player has only just 34 hours in CS:GO. He just recently started with CS:GO because he was banned for toxic behavior in Valorant.

What kind of knife is it? ohnePixel is a real expert when it comes to skins and knives in CS:GO. In a phone call with the 18-year-old knife owner, he explained why the good piece is worth so much.
According to ohnePixel, the knife is a “Case hardened Karambit blue gem” with pattern index 387 – that is THE “number 1 pattern”. Additionally, ohnePixel emphasizes that the condition of the knife plays a role. “Factory new” means, for example, that the drawn item is in like-new condition.
The 18-year-old’s knife is “field tested”. While this is not optimal, it is likely better than the last sold knife with the coveted pattern. That one was “well-worn”, a step worse and sold for $118,000, even though according to ohnePixel, it was a duplicated item.
The video of the conversation between ohnePixel and the lucky player can be found on YouTube:

How much is the knife worth? ohnePixel estimates that the 18-year-old can sell the knife for around $200,000 due to its condition, the patterns, and the fact that it is not a duplicate.
The lucky player himself says he has already received an offer of $150,000, to which ohnePixel emphasized that this is too low and that he could get more than $150,000.
During the conversation, ohnePixel additionally asked the 18-year-old if that was a lot of money for him. He replied, “Yes, definitely. $200,000. It will help my parents.”
The 18-year-old knife owner is still new to CS:GO and is likely to soon enjoy his first big skin sale. Another player who left CS:GO years ago made 400,000 euros in June with skins he found in his inventory.
Are you fans of fast action, spectacular visuals, and a compelling main character? Then you are in the right place with the John Wick series. MeinMMO editor Marie Friske explains why she finds the movies with Keanu Reeves so great.
I must admit, in the action genre I actually prefer superhero movies that don’t take realism too seriously but delight my eyes with even more visual effects.
Actually. Because in the John Wick film series, no superpowers are needed for me to be mesmerized by the cinema screen and only think about how ultra-cool the main character is and even makes heroes like Batman or Captain America look old.
Here you can see a trailer for the first part of the action series:

German trailer for ‘John Wick’ with Keanu Reeves
John Wick is about a killer who is retired and tries to cope with the loss of his wife. She left him a puppy as a last gift.
However, the son of a powerful crime boss messes with John Wick and kills the killer’s animal friend.
John Wick begins a revenge campaign and returns to the dark underworld full of powerful criminals and illegal activities. The main role is played by Matrix star Keanu Reeves.
On his revenge journey, John Wick makes many enemies
Keanu Reeves shines as a killer who stays human
Keanu Reeves is the perfect casting for John Wick. On the one hand, he embodies this merciless hitman who, driven by revenge, simply eliminates anyone who gets in his way.
In doing so, Keanu Reeves gives his all: More than 90% of the stunts in the film were performed by the actor himself.
Yet, even though I watch him most of the time in the 3 films as he takes down numerous people in sometimes bloody ways, John Wick still remains human to me.
Because of Keanu Reeves’ acting talent, it suddenly seems completely appropriate to take revenge over a small puppy. Especially since I realize how much the gift had brought him joy in life again.
John Wick is currently on sale at Prime Day
The film box of John Wick does not yet include the fourth and latest part of the series. This will be released on September 15, 2023, on DVD and Blu-Ray.
However, if you want to add the first 3 movies to your Blu-Ray collection, you can secure the box at a slightly lower price during the Amazon Prime Day:

So if, just like me, you love breathtaking action scenes that are simply great to watch and liked Keanu Reeves in Matrix or Cyberpunk 2077, you should definitely take a closer look at the John Wick series.
Although nowadays we can hardly imagine anyone other than Keanu Reeves in the role of John Wick, the film executives actually initially thought of Harrison Ford or Clint Eastwood:
Because John Wick was supposed to be 40 years older in the original script concept:
The Kugane Tower, with its unfair jumping sections, is a major challenge for speedrunners in the online MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV. The goal is to climb the tower on protruding wooden beams without falling down. A player set a record about a month after the release of the Stormblood expansion, which lasted five years. However, the record has now been broken for the first time.
What was the five-year-old record? The player who set the record just one month after the release of Stormblood was the speedrunner Em0_oticon. He took 43.58 seconds to reach the top of the Kugane Tower, which is located in the city of the same name, noted for its Asian setting.
How fast was the short-term world record holder? The five-year-old time of Em0_oticon has now been beaten: The user Pint trained for several months and analyzed the plateaus of the tower in great detail. With some training and the technique he subsequently devised, he was able to break the world record by a fraction of a second. The new record stood at 43.3 seconds.
For this, he used a special combination. He increased his movement speed by 20 percent and even switched jobs in between to move faster up the tower. You can see his success in a YouTube video:

But Pint couldn’t enjoy his newly acquired world record for long: The former champion of the Kugane Tower, Em0_oticon, caught wind of the action and decided to tackle the tower once again.
And indeed: Just a few hours after Pint set the new record, Em0_oticon reclaimed the title of fastest speedrunner at the Kugane Tower (via youtube.com).
On Twitter, Pint expresses his admiration for Em0_oticon and writes that the freshly set world record has been broken again. Em0_oticon is simply incredible.

Where does the world record currently stand? If you want to try your hand at the Kugane Tower, you now need to beat a time of 38.74 seconds. However, you should prepare for several months of training, as the tower is quite challenging.
Incidentally, it’s no wonder that Em0_oticon was able to break the time so quickly: Behind the player is the well-known speedrunner Pydoyks, also known as Shaeden, who has also performed legendary speedruns in Super Mario Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. However, he mysteriously disappeared from the community one day.
Community reacts with funny image
A user created a funny image in celebration of the competition that depicts Pint’s defeat. Initially, it shows Pint proudly sharing his video for the new world record.
The second part of the image shows a golden elephant proudly holding its record of 38 seconds. Em0_oticon wore a golden elephant costume while he beat the world record by several seconds and confidently showed who the master of the Kugane Tower is.

In the comments, players celebrate the competition between the speedrunner who returned from retirement and his opponents:

TurbulentVariation51: “Oh no, we lost Pint again for another eight months.”
DarkElfMagic: “I’m still impressed that Pint discovered a legendary speedrunner who vanished from the speedrunning community. The best anime plot of all time, I swear.”
We shall see if Pint will attempt another record or if the world record will stand for several more years.
In Diablo 4, a large part of the game revolves around collecting loot and finding rare equipment. Now, a player on Reddit has discovered a broken chest that delivers countless loot – until your game crashes because of it.
What kind of chest is it? The Diablo 4 player “High-With-You” posted a video in the Diablo 4 subreddit where he stands in front of a chest with countless amounts of loot at his feet.
The chest simply wouldn’t empty according to the user’s description, and every time High-With-You opened the chest, he received numerous treasures again.
There was no need to leave the area or wait for some time. The Reddit user could just stand there and endlessly press the button to open the chest. In a comment, he writes: “It feels wrong, but I couldn’t stop.”

When High-With-You discovered the chest, he was in the process of completing the quest “A Soaked Pact” in the Scosglen region when he unexpectedly found the generous chest north of the quest target. The player then took the time to open the chest countless times with a single mouse click, filling his inventory with various loot.
At some point, the Reddit user’s game crashed, he writes in the comments. Probably too much loot was laying on the ground being displayed on the screen. By that time, however, he had successfully filled his inventory.

Can you also have an infinite chest? In the comments, High-With-You reveals that he does not know how the infinite chest came to be. It is clearly a game bug that the Reddit user cannot reproduce on purpose.
However, there are other players in the comment section of the post who also report finding an infinite chest in Diablo 4. That was, however, still in beta, which is why they are surprised that the bug can still occur (via Reddit).
Additionally, a user adds that it does not depend on a specific chest or location. The bug could randomly occur with any object that gives you loot – but is extremely rare.
Can you be punished for opening an infinite chest? Possibly yes, since an infinite chest is a game bug. You would be consciously exploiting it if you opened the chest over and over again. Some players on Reddit believe that Blizzard could take action against players who exploit the bug.
Surely it is safe to farm your loot the old-fashioned way. How to get your desired Uniques, you can find out on MeinMMO:
The 16-year-old Johnson “Gryffinn” Lee is facing a challenge in League of Legends that many consider impossible: As an American, he wants to make it into the South Korean LCK, the toughest LoL league in the world, where superstars like Faker or Showmaker are waiting for him.
Why is this such a difficult goal?
The South Korean professional league LCK is made up solely of South Koreans: The 10 teams in the LCK currently field a South Korean in every position on the roster.
Even the 10 Challenger teams, so to speak the youth teams in the second league, only feature South Koreans. Although “Brion Challengers” at least had a Vietnamese player in the roster a year ago.
South Koreans are so good and so dominant in LoL that they not only dominate the LCK, but also regularly provide the best players in the USA and China: The LPL in China is particularly filled with South Korean top stars like Kanavi, Ruler, Rookie, Tarzan, or Scout. Even in China, apart from South Koreans, there are hardly any foreigners, maybe occasionally a player from Taiwan like world-class jungler Karsa.

16-year-old US talent undergoes trial training for LCK youth team
Who wants to go into the LCK now? 16-year-old American Gryffinn is a jungle talent. As Dotesports reports, he is currently undergoing trial training for various LCK teams. This is reported by Korea expert LS, who has worked as a coach in South Korea and the USA. The goal is apparently to bring the 16-year-old into an academy team so that he can eventually play in the LCK in 3 to 4 years.
Apparently, Gryffinn is the first from North America or Europe in a long time to participate in trial training for a team in South Korea. LS mentions that he is the first to be allowed to undergo a “real trial training” since 2018 (via twitter).
Getting an invitation to trial training is already something special
Does he have a chance? It would already be a sensation: As Dotesports reports, the 16-year-old does not speak Korean, but has to rely on pings and simple English to communicate with his teammates.
Regarded as a mastermind and Korea expert: Coach, analyst, and influencer LS.
LS has announced that he will take him to various trial trainings of the academy teams from Monday to Wednesday. The coach seems proud alone to have gotten his protégé into these trial trainings.
The 16-year-old seems to have what it takes, as in May he reached the top of the “North American Challenger” while simultaneously going to school full-time and being active on Twitch.

Even if it doesn’t work out with the LCK, he has already made an impression in the scene just by being invited to the trial training and will certainly find it easier to find a place in the USA. Perhaps that was LS’s goal. The experiences that the 16-year-old will gain in South Korea will surely be valuable in the long run.
Even if it doesn’t work out with the big dream.
How good South Koreans are, the US league LCS has now had to learn:
If you want to try out a new class in Diablo 4, you can’t avoid creating a new hero and leveling them up again. Loot and equipment must be farmed again, but with a little trick, you can reduce your effort. We show you how.
The grind can be tough: Those playing Diablo 4 for the first time probably know that the grind from level 1-50 can be easy, but the required XP you need to go from level 50 to 100 increases exponentially.
It’s already strenuous for your main hero, but when you then want to level another class out of boredom in seasons, a new grind is hell. Especially if you also want to collect suitable equipment like rare uniques.
A Reddit user has now revealed a small trick that should help you level your second and third characters faster.
Did you miss the trailer for Season 1 in Diablo 4? Then we have just the thing for you:

A small trick saves you time when grinding
This is how the trick works: The Reddit user WickedBTW revealed his trick to the community by chance. He reports that even before he leveled his second character, he had accumulated the rewards from world bosses and the whispering tree on his level 100 main hero.
These chests are actually not bound to the hero that generated them. You can easily stash them in your storage or load them onto mules, known as “pack mules.” These are heroes you create to utilize their inventory space.
WickedBTW had stored a total of 20 such chests before creating his thorn barbarian and then stashed them away. When his barbarian reached level 60, he transferred all the chests to his barbarian and opened them.
This way, he could save a part of his grind and benefit from good loot. With this loot, he was able to equip his barbarian and level him up enough to handle World Tier 4 without issues.
How good is the loot in the chests? How good the loot is depends on the hero opening these chests. The items in the chests scale with the level of your hero who opens them. Therefore, it is advisable to have reached a level before opening these chests that provides you with good loot, so you can easily walk into the endgame afterward.
Have you known and used this trick or are you hearing about it for the first time? Let us know in the comments!
It will be exciting around the FIFA successor FC 24 by EA Sports, as the new cover and the first teaser trailer for the game may have revealed a particularly exciting and significant change.
Yesterday, on July 10th, EA Sports released the first footage of the FIFA successor FC 24. First, the development studio presented the official cover for the Ultimate Edition and later a first trailer, both hinting at a huge change for Ultimate Team.
You can watch the trailer here:

Will women and men play together in EA Sports FC 24 in Ultimate Team?
That would be a sensation, as so far there have only been separate modes for women, and together with the male players, one could only play with self-created female players in Pro Clubs and VOLTA.
In the FIFA successor EA Sports FC 24, this could be quite different, as there are hints at a joint Ultimate Team mode in the trailer as well as on the new cover.
These are the hints from the cover and trailer: If you take a closer look at the cover of the Ultimate Edition, you will discover two particularly exciting female players. On the left side are Englishwoman Alex Scott and American Mia Hamm. Two footballers who are actually already retired, just like Pelé, Beckham, or Ronaldinho.
Then if you look at the official page for the game, you get the additional info that Alex Scott will receive a Hero card and Mia Hamm will become an Icon. These are cards for former football legends that previously only existed in Ultimate Team.
A confirmation then, that the two will supposedly appear in Ultimate Team.
Additionally, the trailer clearly shows at the end how women and men enter the field together, which could be another strong indication for an integration of women in FUT.
Leaks have already given first hints: Even before the release of the trailer or the cover, the well-known Twitter channel FUT23News for leaks stirred up the rumors. In a tweet, the channel leaked that men and women could be on the same Ultimate Team.
However, an official confirmation from EA is still pending. As soon as there is more information, you will find out here on my MeinMMO.
What do you think? Will there be a joint UT mode? Feel free to tell us in the comments!
