New solo shooter rewards you for doing weird stuff, now has a demo on PS5

A new solo shooter rewards you for doing crazy stuff. After already convincing players on Steam, you can now try it for free on PS5.

This shooter is called Void/Breaker: The fresh roguelite first-person shooter impresses on Steam with powerful gunplay and fluid movement. Above all, some really creative weapon modifiers make it unique:

• Instead of slapping upgrades like “+10% more damage against enemy type xy” onto your gun, some mods enlarge your weapon’s magazine, for example, when you lower the resolution of the game.
• Another mod lets you deal more damage if you play the game at night – that is, between 12 AM and 6 AM.
• These are just a few examples of the countless weapon mods you can experiment with.

After the shooter was released in Early Access for PC on Steam on August 19, 2025, there is now also a free demo for PS5. You can find it in the PlayStation Store.

Uprising Against the AI

What is the game about? In Void/Breaker, you are trapped in an eternal cycle of life, fighting, and dying by an all-seeing, hostile AI. Your goal is to break this cycle, but you must get past hordes of deadly machines.

To survive, you rely not only on your reflexes and accuracy but also on the weapon mods mentioned earlier. In addition, environments within the levels can be destroyed, giving you even more ways to approach situations.

Void/Breaker is already doing really well on Steam: Over 1,500 players have left a review there, 91 percent of which are positive (as of October 10, 14:19). 

In these reviews, it says things like:

• “Super satisfying gameplay and fun systems. 10/10” (Meter on Steam)
