There was a time when Horizon Forbidden West was the only reason that MeinMMO author Johanna could justify her purchase of the PS5, as few games came afterward that excited her on the console. Now, two games are coming out that she absolutely wants to play, forcing her into an internal tug-of-war.
I have been looking forward to the game Aniimo for some time. Even though I definitely enjoy my time with Palworld, the appearance of the game has always bothered me at times. It just looks too empty and uninspired in some areas. That’s why I have been eagerly looking at the game Aniimo for quite a while.
A monster-collecting game that definitely bears similarities to Palworld, but brings its own spin with its gameplay and the ability to transform into small monsters. For a long time, I was annoyed that the release date was only listed as the year 2026, but now it is finally time.
Through a trailer on YouTube from Sony, the pre-order start and thus the release date have been announced: it is to be September 16, 2026. So I don’t have to wait much longer, but now I have a completely different problem.

September 2026 feels like July 2023
Like many others, I went to the cinema in July 2023 and watched the two contrasting films Barbie and Oppenheimer. While Oppenheimer dealt with the scientist of the same name who invented the atomic bomb, Barbie had a nervous breakdown in her squeaky-pink world due to her identity. The perfect mix!
September 2026 will feel similar for me because just a day before the release of Aniimo, on September 15, another highly anticipated game of mine is coming: Wolverine.
Wolverine is my Oppenheimer, while Aniimo feels like my Barbie. On September 15, I am the ruthless, violent anti-hero Wolverine, and a day later I will be looking for cute monsters for my collection in the colorful world of Aniimo. My game selection for September could not be more opposite!
At this point, I would like to thank GTA 6 again because without this huge game release and the developers’ fear that their own game might pale in comparison to Rockstar’s gem, I get my personal Barbenheimer 2.0
