Alan Ritchson is best known today as Reacher, but he is considering taking a role for DC. However, this would not be the first time, as he has already played two heroes in different series.
Alan Ritchson will be seen starting from August 12, 2026 in the 4th season of Reacher , where he once again plays the tough military policeman. However, there is a role that some DC fans would like to see him in: Batman.
Especially on Reddit, discussions can get quite heated. Some users like Lamechocolate think Ritchson would be the perfect casting. Meanwhile, there is also protest against the fan-casting, as shown by a Reddit post from Forsaken_Ad7090.
It is certain, however, that Ritchson himself has spoken about a future role with DC. And this is despite having already played two heroes for the comic giant.
All good things come in threes?
Who did Alan Ritchson play for DC? The actor portrayed Aquaman in the series Smallville. This was his first major role on TV. He played the role from season 5 in four episodes until season 10.
Additionally, Ritchson appeared as Hawk in the series Titans between 2018 and 2021. But whether it’s the often-ridiculed Aquaman or part of the duo Hawk & Dove, the actor seems to not have had enough of DC.
In a conversation with Josh Horowitz on YouTube, he revealed that he had spoken with James Gunn. The latter is leading the new DC Universe and is therefore responsible for future projects.
“I really respect James. I would love to do something with him. James would like to do something with me. I pick projects extremely carefully. I know how to develop a project. And everything I do with DC has to meet my standards, right? It will have to meet my standards. And I hope we’ll work on something that feels like we are all making this movie that I would be proud of.

In the end, Ritchson hinted that he has a wish role – but it is not Batman. It is unlikely that he will return to any of his previously played characters, Aquaman or Hawk. What else could it be? Feel free to share your ideas in the comments.
