This week, the first part of the September update is coming to Lost Ark. This will be divided into two parts this month and will bring numerous changes to the user interface, balancing, and the fortress today. Additionally, the update fixes over 80 game bugs and prepares a feature that fans have long desired.
Update September 8, 11:25 PM: Lost Ark has now announced what the gifts will be for compensating the long downtime. These are surprisingly generous and are more than what a normal player could achieve in a day.
You will receive the following gifts in the coming days:
- 5 days of crystalline aura
- 2 resonance restoration auras that last for 14 days
- 9 combat item crates
- 3 tickets for Unas’ daily quests
- 20 pheons
- A “Growth Support Pack” containing upgrade materials for all tiers of your choice.
Update 4:25 AM: The servers are gradually being brought back online. After the two American servers, Europe Central is now back and playable. Europe West should follow soon.
On Steam, you will need to download about 15 GB before you can start playing again.
Update 2:00 AM: The servers remain offline and are now not expected to return until 6 AM. However, the changes are still coming with this downtime as originally announced.
Furthermore, there will be a compensation for the long downtime. What exactly this will entail is still unknown (via playlostark.com).
Details about the server mergers have also been revealed. The first servers will be merged with the patch on September 28. Players should be able to log in smoothly on the new server. If you have characters on both servers, the accounts will be merged into one. The developers explain this in detail in the blog post (via playlostark.com).
Update 4:40 PM: The server warning is taking longer than planned. Currently, the servers are expected to come back online at 7:30 PM. We will keep you updated.
Update 10:30 AM: The developers have once again commented on Twitter. They state that the servers need to be taken offline before the weekly reset to avoid problems.
The servers will be shut down at 11:30 AM our time for 4 hours. Currently, it sounds like the patch will not be deployed during this time.

Update 9:30 AM: On Twitter, Lost Ark announced that there was a critical error during the preparations for the update. Therefore, the update has to be postponed for now.
There is currently no new time or day for the patch. It is also unclear how long the servers will be offline today. We will update this article when there is something new.

What’s in the update? The big monthly update in Lost Ark is divided into two parts in September. While the second half will bring the new raid, the new class, and more content to the game, the first part focuses on improving existing features.
This first part comes in today’s update and changes many small things, among which some highlights are hidden. Additionally, changes in the backend are being prepared to enable the first server mergers.
This is a feature that has especially been desired by players in the EU West region, as fewer and fewer people are playing there, and finding group members has become a problem.
Aside from that, you can expect changes in the options today, new chat opportunities, changes to your own island, and over 80 bugs fixed.
The highlights:
- More customization options in the user interface. This includes that you can now set the size of buffs, their priority, and order.
- A new icon shows at a glance whether an activity is rewarded with gold or not.
- The ability to search in the chat is also new.
- You can now add friends from other servers to your friends list as long as they play in the same region.
- The merchant at the companion ranch has new items, now you get more for your cookies.
- Fortress quests are now orange instead of blue to better distinguish them.
- You can now directly invite other players to your fortress.
- The training room in Trixion has undergone numerous improvements.
- Your guild also now has several new features, especially in the chat area.
- Controller support has been significantly improved.
- You now find it easier to complete the adventure compendium in Rohendel, Yorn, and Feiton.
- 2 new hairstyles for all base classes.
- Extensive balance changes, especially affecting PvP.
- 84 bugs fixed that have been causing issues for some time.

The Arcanist is currently still the newest class in the game but will have to relinquish this title to the Machinist in September.
Lost Ark is offline today, September 7, for 4 hours
How long is the server status offline? As you are used to, the servers today will go offline at 9:00 AM German time and are expected to remain down for approximately 4 hours for the weekly update.
You should be able to log in again at 1 PM and enjoy the new features. Of course, we will keep you updated in this article about when the servers are back and will update it accordingly.
As there are still several invisible changes sneaking into the backend, you should also expect a larger update on Steam. How large it will be exactly is still uncertain.
