What kind of game is this? World of Warcraft is the most famous MMORPG in the West and remains very popular nearly 20 years after its release. You create a character on the side of the Horde or the Alliance and choose from 13 different classes and a total of 25 races.
You select a character and follow an exciting story told through quests and beautiful cinematics. In the mid and endgame, you will encounter dungeons, raids, dangerous world bosses, and PvP battles.
The MMORPG features a comic graphic style that has been spruced up over the expansions, but it still feels somewhat dated. The combat system relies on the classic tab-targeting, which has become significantly more dynamic compared to vanilla times.
What does it do well in PvE? WoW has the best raids in the MMORPG market. The race for world-first kills plays an important role here. This can often take a week or even longer. For the launch of Dragonflight, Team Liquid needed eleven days, for example.
Moreover, the MMORPG is convincing in other areas as well. The open world is diverse and offers many side and daily quests, the story is engaging, and with Dragonflight, dragon races were introduced as a new activity.

What does WoW do poorly in PvE? Blizzard’s MMORPG does not do anything particularly bad, but it sometimes lacks the right incentives to play in the open world. Additionally, instances play a significant role in the lore, which not everyone appreciates.
What about PvP? PvP can be played in arenas and larger battlegrounds. If you join a PvP server, you can also fight against players from the other faction in the open world. This year, there was even a brief battle royale mode with Plunderstorm.
