Path of Exile 2 will soon receive its biggest expansion, introducing a new Ascendancy class that can even tame bosses and have them fight for you.
What is this new class? Return of the Ancients is the largest update yet for Path of Exile 2 and also the last expansion before the full release. Grinding Gear Games is reshaping many endgame activities and bringing additional content to the ARPG.
This includes the Spirit Dancer, a new Ascendancy class for the Hunter. Under her command, even the most fearsome beasts will be subdued and brought under her will.

This is what taming is about: Through the passive skill “The Natural Order,” the Spirit Dancer gains the ability to tame beasts. Unique beasts can be captured and summoned. They will then fight alongside you similarly to Pokémon and also possess an extremely high movement speed.
Which bosses are specifically referenced and whether even tough campaign enemies can be tamed will be revealed on May 29, 2026, with the update.
What else can the Spirit Dancer do? The class can not only tame large beasts and have them fight for her but can also command an entire zoo. A “Zookeeper” build shown in the trailer allows you to sit back and relax while your animals do the work.
This allows for six companion skills to be active simultaneously. This is made possible by the new unique scepter “Sylvan’s Image,” which appears with the expansion and lifts the limit for companions. Additionally, an Alpha Wolf accompanies you, enhancing other companions and able to summon anew.
The classes and playstyles in Path of Exile 2 are very extensive due to the complex skill tree. However, a new feature should make it particularly easier for beginners to get started. This allows builds to be directly copied into the game: Path of Exile 2 gets one of the best features since release, saving you the second monitor
