For 10 years, MeinMMO editor Dariusz has been failing to grind Warframe properly. Now he has found a way to finally make progress.
Warframe is a mainstay on Steam and consoles. For years, the MMO with ninjas has had an active fan community. Many players have spent thousands of hours grinding the various resources and earning the latest Warframes.
I, on the other hand, find the game incredibly interesting, have great respect for the developers, enjoy the movement-driven gameplay and … have not played as much as I would like to.
Whenever I am motivated to grind in Warframe, I am shortly after captivated by another game – that comes with the job and my general curiosity. Additionally, I tend to grab other games for “a quick round in between” on the PC.
And when the exhaustion of a long day knocks me out like Klitschko’s “Iron Hammer,” I completely leave my gaming setup.
The solution to finally focus on the grind in Warframe appeared about 4 months ago – and thanks to a gadget for 10 €, even I enjoy it.
In this week, exciting articles about MMORPGs will be published every day. Of course: nostalgic retrospectives, exciting analyses by reputable industry veterans, previews of upcoming online role-playing games, and funny streams.

From Player 2 to Travel Equipment Number 1
Throughout the year, I bought an SN30 Pro from 8BitDo. It’s a small, Bluetooth-enabled controller in a retro look. A great controller, primarily designed for “Player 2” in case I have visitors.
However, the plan changed, and the SN30 found a new purpose.
In June, I bought a suitable phone holder for 10 euros and – I can hardly believe I’m saying this – tried Warframe on my smartphone.
The holder is attached to the controller and allows me to play games on my phone with the controller. Since I generally despise cliché mobile gaming, I would never have bought a dedicated, expensive controller attachment for my phone – I usually prefer to play real games on my PC anyway.
But during the month, I had a long trip with Deutsche Bahn ahead, and so a reason to purchase the holder was suddenly born.
Perfect for Long Journeys AND the Sofa
In preparation for the train ride, I downloaded the mobile version of Warframe to my phone, which was released in February 2026. Although I knew that the network coverage likely wouldn’t be sufficient for playing the sci-fi MMO, I wanted to keep that option open.
Of course, I tested Warframe on my phone with the SN30 before departure. I had never controlled my Space Ninja with a controller before and didn’t know if I would enjoy it at all.
And my test was conclusive:
Warframe not only has a really well-done controller control, but it’s surprisingly fun on the phone.
My little test in the evening ended in a way too long Warframe session on the sofa. As hard as it is for me to start Warframe on PC and – as already planned for ages – finally continue grinding: None of that applies to the mobile version.
When I play games on my phone, it’s because I can’t or don’t want to sit at the PC, but still have boredom or a desire to play. And then I don’t want to play Clash of Clans or Subway Surfers.
Warframe has proven to be the perfect pastime for me in these situations.
Who Needs a Steam Deck?
Only a few minutes after I finished my first Warframe mobile session, the thought struck me that it’s a game I would like to play on a handheld on the sofa. However, I quickly dismissed that thought.
I am not ready to pay around 1,000 euros for a modern handheld at the current hardware prices – especially as I would still mostly play on the PC.
Before I rush to buy a mid-range handheld, I will stick with the mobile version of Warframe – something I never would have known that I would actually enjoy, had I not spent 10 € on the holder. And if we’re being honest: With the touchscreen control, I would have never enjoyed it either; that’s absolutely terrible (in any game).
Have you ever tried Warframe Mobile, and if so, how did you like it? Let us know in the comments!
Of course, the combination of the holder and controller also works with other games, such as Dead Cells, Deep Rock Galactic Survivor, GTA Vice City, Diablo Immortal, and The Division Resurgence. Currently, however, I also play a lot of The Division 2 again, as I elaborated in this article a few weeks ago: The Summer of 2026 is the perfect time to grind one of the best loot shooters of the past decade
