Helldivers 2 features two factions, the Automatons and the Terminids, that you can take down with your weapons and tactical gear. A data miner has now found new content in the game, including a new enemy faction and new tactical gear.
In Helldivers 2, with the Terminator-like Automatons and the insect-like Terminids, there are two enemy factions that make missions difficult for you. In particular, the Automatons are known in the community for their difficulty.
A data miner on reddit has now found content in the game that points towards new tactical gear and a new enemy faction. As many players have suspected, we are likely soon to see the return of the Illuminates from the first part.
Mechs and the Return of Familiar Faces
On reddit, user stodal posted several contents he found in the game, offering hints at future content. He found a lot of new entries for the stratagems, pointing to new tactical gear.
- -DropoffCombatWalker
- -DropoffCombatWalker_PresidentReward
- -RaiseFlag
- -BugThumper
- -MedicBackpack
- -DisplacementBackpack
- -DropoffCargoContainer
- -HealthPackRack
- -HealthPackRack_PresidentReward

- -DropoffLav_PresidentReward
- -Cover
- -DropoffFrv
- -SpireSterilizer

In particular, the DropoffCombatWalker
aligns with multiple pieces of information indicating mech-like equipment is on the way. For example, in Helldivers 1, there was the EXO-44 Walker Exosuit, which was a controllable mech suit. The entry Nuke
also hints at a new orbital strike with a lot of firepower.
Besides the stratagem entries, the user also found the Illuminate
entry, which comes with different types:
- adept – can call for allies
- ghoul
- illusionist – fire projectile – force choke victim
- obelisk fire
- outcast
- pathfinder
- summoner
This faction existed in the first part, and even hints within the game itself suggested their return. The enemy type Outcast
also appeared in the first part and are banished Illuminates forced to fight on the battlefield. They use only melee weapons (via Helldivers Wiki)
