GTA 6 has not been postponed again. A release seems more likely than ever, and thus the pre-order phase is getting closer to the fans. What you should know about it can be found here in our overview.
When can you pre-order GTA 6? According to various rumors, the pre-order phase is supposed to start on May 18, 2026. Best Buy, one of the largest electronics retail chains in the U.S., reportedly sent an email to various affiliate partners and influencers, promising a time frame and a 5% share of the revenue (Source: x.com). This period runs from May 18 to 21, but so far there is no sign of possible pre-sales.
Some other retailers have also listed product pages and even prices, which were then taken offline. Xbox has also updated its page for GTA 6. Something is brewing in the background, but we can’t tell you exactly what it is.
Which platforms will receive GTA 6 at launch? As usual, console players will get to experience GTA 6 first. This includes Xbox and PS5 – PC players will have to wait. Many wonder which of the two platforms is more worthwhile, and theoretically, there is a clear winner: the PlayStation.
While the Xbox Series X and PS5 are technically almost on the same level, Sony can extract more power with its Pro model and theoretically provide a better experience for fans. Of course, this is just speculation, and as long as Rockstar has not released any details, we will have to wait.
Will there be editions? According to leaks, there will be 6 editions available for purchase (Source: dexerto.com). These include:
- 3 editions for both platforms:
- Standard Edition
- Deluxe Edition
- Premium/Ultimate Edition
- 1 Collector’s Edition
- 2 Console Bundles
- For PS5 and the Pro
Take this information with caution, as these are speculations and leaks.
Are there rumors about the price? Yes, and the rumor mill is also buzzing here. Many fans and leakers speculate a price between €69.99 and €89.99 – just for the Standard Edition. Other editions with in-game items and goodies would cost even more. Unfortunately, there is still nothing concrete from Rockstar.
