In May, you can once again earn free coins in the GO Pass from Pokémon GO. MeinMMO shows you how to get them.
What is the GO Pass? The GO Pass is a type of Battle Pass that has been active in Pokémon GO for some time. Every month, there is a new one as well as in some events.
The May edition runs from May 5, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. to June 2, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. and will again bring you free coins that are distributed across the 100 levels of the pass. If you want to collect them all, you need to act quickly.
Collect Points, Collect Coins
On which levels are there coins? The free coins are available at the following levels of the pass:
- Level 10: 10 coins
- Level 20: 20 coins
- Level 30: 30 coins
- Level 40: 40 coins
- Level 60: 60 coins
- Level 70: 70 coins
- Level 80: 80 coins
- Level 90: 90 coins
In total, you can receive 400 free coins through the pass.
If you own the Deluxe version of the pass, which you can purchase for €8.99 in the Pokémon GO web store, additional coins are waiting for you:
- Level 10: 20 coins
- Level 20: 40 coins
- Level 30: 60 coins
- Level 40: 80 coins
- Level 60: 120 coins
- Level 70: 140 coins
- Level 80: 160 coins
- Level 90: 180 coins
- Level 100: 200 coins
So, besides the 400 free coins, you can earn an additional 1,000 coins.
How do I level up? You have 2 options to earn points and climb levels. Option 1 consists of daily tasks that you can complete. Here you can earn 250 points every day. For every 100 points, you level up in the pass. The following tasks will earn you points:
- Catch a Pokémon: 5 points
- Hatch an egg: 40 points
- Win a raid: 100 points
Additionally, there is Option 2 in the form of daily and weekly tasks that will earn you more points. You can see what tasks you currently have and how much time you have left to complete them in the “Events” tab directly below the pass.
Through the daily task, you can earn an additional 200 points (or 2 levels) every day, regardless of the points from activities. The weekly tasks provide a total of another 1,000 points each week.
While the daily task resets every day at 12:00 a.m., and you must complete it by then to receive the points, the weekly tasks stack. That means you have until the end of the GO Pass to complete them.
How many levels can I max out at? If you complete the daily task every day for a week, finish the weekly task, and reach the daily maximum of points, you can earn 4,150 points per week and therefore climb just over 41 levels. So you should be diligent in the coming time if you want to receive all the coins.
From Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 12:00 a.m., until Sunday, May 31, 2026, at 11:59 p.m., there will also be no limit for points from activities. So you can really get going this weekend if you’re still short on points.
What other rewards are there? In addition to a variety of rewards in the form of experience points and stardust, Pokémon encounters, and candies, as well as other items, the following rewards will be of particular interest to many trainers:
- Level 31: Snubbull
- Level 55: Lucky Egg
- Level 89: 3 Rare Candies
- Level 91: XL Rare Candy
- Level 95: 5 Rare Candies
- Level 96: 5 Rare Candies
- Level 100: Encounter with Suicune
