Twitch-streamer Papaplatte looked curiously in one of his recent streams to see how much he has spent on games and in-game items on the Steam platform. The result was higher than expected. He attributed it to his ‘wild time in 2016’.
Who is the streamer? Kevin “Papaplatte” Teller (27) is one of the most well-known German streamers and content creators in the gaming sector. With his authentic and humorous style, he has built up a loyal fan base on platforms like Twitch and YouTube .
The streamer is primarily known for his Just Chatting streams. Here he entertains his viewers with humorous conversations, reactions to videos, and everyday experiences.
But Papaplatte doesn’t just stream Just Chatting; he also offers gaming content from time to time. In the past, he showed how he failed in the tutorial of “Contraband Police” or attempted hardcore challenges in “Elden Ring” together with HandOfBlood.
However, these games cost money – how much he has already spent on them, he revealed in a recent stream.

“So Counter-Strike cases in 2016 were a crazy thing.”
How much money has he spent on Steam? During one of his Just Chatting streams, he came across a video that showed how to view one’s expenses on Steam. Papaplatte was so curious that he immediately replicated this during the stream. The result was surprising: He had spent a total of 11,626.07 euros on the platform.
What is behind the expenses? After a brief, embarrassed laugh, he explained that the high amount was also due to the many cases in Counter-Strike that he had purchased in 2016. He added: “So Counter-Strike cases in 2016 were a crazy thing.”
What connection does he have to Counter-Strike? In the years 2016 and 2017, Counter-Strike was Papaplatte’s second-most played game on Twitch. Alone in 2017, he spent about 250 hours streaming this game. Even in the last 30 days, he played for at least 8 hours, landing him in 6th place among his most streamed games during this period (via Twitchtracker).
However, he seems to no longer open cases but now criticizes other streamers who do. Last year, he criticized Montanablack on X for continuing to open Counter-Strike cases.
“Only losers open cases.”
What criticism has he expressed? Papaplatte posted on April 14, 2023, a post on X where he displayed a new item from CS:GO, a “survival knife”. Many assumed that he had obtained it by opening cases, but Papaplatte clarified in the post that he had received it through trading, not by opening cases.
He wrote: “Just for all MontanaBlack enjoyers, I didn’t unbox the thing but traded it, only losers open cases.”
Chefstrobel, another well-known streamer, then commented with a video excerpt in which Papaplatte opened cases and wrote: “You are a loser”. Papaplatte dryly replied that he really was that in 2016.
