The developers of Forza Horizon 6 have commented on the leak, and their reaction is said to hit the players hard.
What kind of leak is it? On May 11, 2026, pirates released Forza Horizon 6 more than a week before the official release as an illegal copy available for free on the internet. According to their own statements, the data came from an unencrypted preload that the developers uploaded to Steam and was intercepted by the pirates.
On the other hand, the developers do not want to let this sit and are now defending themselves against the accusations.

What do the developers say? In a new post on X.com, the developers have clearly positioned themselves against everyone who plays their game before the release. At the same time, they state that the leak would not result from the preload, as the pirates would claim.
To counter the pirates, they have announced strict penalties. Anyone who plays Forza Horizon 6 before the release will receive a ban for the entire franchise, affecting not only the account but also the hardware.
One does not only lose their own account, but cannot play the game on a new account either, because it’s the same gaming PC.
How long do the bans last? It is unclear how the developers will access the names of the cheaters who play Forza Horizon 6 before release. There may also be players who don’t even have an account for the game and are still racing.
However, those who act particularly cheekily must reckon with the same fate as a YouTuber. According to a report from 3DJuegos, he had posted videos of his gaming sessions with the illegal version online.
As if that wasn’t enough, he then modified the game with cheats and proudly uploaded the videos to YouTube. However, the developers found the player’s account and imposed a ban until December 31, 9999 – in 7,974 years.
